Front desk staff was also great. Pools were fun. Our proximity to the beach was amazing! We had a great stay.
- mark (6/5): - This Good rating would have been much higher if I didn't get slapped in the face at my checkout with the hidden resort and parking (per day) fees...which neither Expedia or the hotel made me aware of until checking out...very, very, very disappointed with this serious slap in the face!!! These are shady and non-transparent business practices. On top of this insult was a very costly room cleaning fee!!! I have never even heard of this!? PLEASE ENSURE YOU DISCLOSE THE HIDDEN PER DAY RESORT FEE UP FRONT!!!! CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH OF AN INSULT THIS WAS!

It is not connected to the other resorts just south but it is a short walk to the "boardwalk" and to Kaanapali Beach, just ask the staff. Food trucks, grocery, restaurants and shopping next-door. Beautiful location. Skip the restaurant on site, wasn't great.

The entrance has an amazing waterfall koi pond and 2 very good sized pools. Will definitely consider AEI again on our next visit. Mahalo

- Fabiola Morales (8/5): - The property grounds are very well taken care of. The beach is beautiful and you get to see the beautiful sunset everyday. The staff is very nice. The rooms have everything you need to if you want to cook your own meals. The only down is, no housekeeping and the room we had could use a little TLC. We also had a room way out in the back of the property where all the deliveries and staff facilities are located at, so it was pretty noisy early in the morning. I would definitely stay here again but probably get a different room.

The property restaurant is great for a sunset dinner and is very good. Walking distance to strip mall with grocery store and restaurants and a food truck park right next to the property also.

Usually beachside or beach viewing is standard. The night deadbolt on the entry door did not work. Our unit is looking tired and was very plain.

We felt very safe and location was super central to strip mall containing restaurants, Kanapali beach and shopping area and many other things. Pools at the hotels were great and pool towels were provided as part of the resort fee. Overall we loved the property and will definitely consider staying here again.

- Kelly Lynne (6/5): - We stayed for a week at the Aston Kaanapali Shores Aug. 12-19. We were happy with our stay overall but there was a large roach crawling on the wall the first day. We got a notice the exterminators would be by during our stay but it looked like we could have used them a bit sooner. The drain in the master shower was extremely slow to drain and the A/C couldn’t be felt much beyond the living room. The pools were nice and the grounds and beach were kept up. The communication was thorough and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant and the drinks were terrible but again the servers were very friendly.

- James Earl (4/5): - The resort itself is amazing. It is right on the beach, the pools are nice, and having that restaurant right on site is great. What I did not like was no housekeeping. I was there for 2 weeks and really needed some fresh bedding and towels every once in a while, it was kind of gross going without for an extending time period. Also, if I am paying a resort fee, at least do housekeeping. Paying a resort fee, plus parking also seems excessive. I am already paying extra and now I have to pay even more. Last, I one of the reasons I chose this place was for a gym as it is listed as an amenity. I found out I have to pay extra to use it. AEI finds every way to charge you extra for what any other hotel includes at no charge.

- John (10/5): - Stayed for a week here in a 2 bedroom/bath. Was myself/wife and 2 teens (16f & 14m). Plenty of room and good location. Apartment itself was in very good condition and all appliances worked great (fridge was set to off though which you need to check before you bring home a load of Costco food to a fridge that takes 8 hours to fully cool lol). Having a washer and dryer was heaven and meant we could pack much less. The grounds and pool were very nice and peaceful. It has a restaurant that served good basic food and was actually cheaper than most places around there. The beach is a bit narrow but fine for swimming but not for snorkeling or surfing (those are north and south respectively). Just a warning that a rental car is a necessity but expensive (min. $700 a week and get insurance as they WILL find something wrong). Most activaties are a short drive (10-15 minutes if you stay on the west side) but public transport or taxis are slow or expensive. Great value for families instead of 2 hotel rooms. Would stay again.

The location is incredibly convenient — just a short walk to a supermarket, great local restaurants, and even a fun food truck park. The amenities were top-notch, and I especially appreciated the permanent pickleball court and covered parking — huge perks for active travelers and families. The staff was prompt and responsive, even during a tsunami warning. Their calm communication made us feel safe and well cared for. Our room had a beautiful ocean view, and while the property isn’t brand new, it’s very well-maintained and clean throughout. If you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and aloha spirit on Maui, I highly recommend staying here!

However it is clean, the rooms are very spacious, the grounds are pretty, and it's a beach front property with most rooms having an ocean room. There are restaurants and food trucks at walking distance. There's also a large grocery store across the street.

- Alice (10/5): - I am so glad that I selected this property for our vacation to Maui!!! The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained. Easy access to the beach with showers near the steps. We snorkeled right off the shore from the beach a few steps away from one of the pools and saw so much marine life. Staff was welcoming and kind. The front desk clerk gave us seashell leis when we checked in and also gave me a box of chocolates because I was celebrating my birthday. Any requests for additional towels/ supplies were handled swiftly. The property is walking distance from a food truck park with delicious options. It's also across the street from a small strip mall with a grocery store, and a nail salon where I was able to get my broken nail repaired. We had the 2 bedroom/ 2 bath condo with an ocean view. I couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. The view was amazing! There was a balcony off the living room and another off the master bedroom. There was a fully equipped kitchen along with a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. The toiletries provided were from Hawaiian tropic and they were fantastic quality. I was a bit confused when booking but AEI manages privately owned condos in the Aston at Kaanapali Shores resort. They contract with the resort so there seemed to be no difference between AEI and Aston. I loved it here and didn't want to leave. If I ever have the pleasure of visiting Maui again, I would definitely choose this property.

- Bianca (8/5): - The actual property is nice. They do charge you resort fees even though there aren’t that many perks with the fee. Normally when you’re paying fees you get room service. Here you don’t unless you are staying 7 days or more. Which is annoying if you are planning to go into water at all. You also have to call to get towels as they don’t replenish the towels. You pay for printing services, which we didn’t use at all. Also parking is $10 at gate and on your receipt it is $10 something. Staff is lacking customer service in my opinion. They can’t really answer basic questions. Actual room is nice plenty of utensils and items for you to cook, you basically have an apartment. Just wish they had more perks for what you’re paying.
