- simon (10/5): - This is the second time I've stayed here and again for the price it's got to be the best kept secret in Southsea. The white room was particularly nice, though your private toilet is along the hall with your own key but this didn't bother me. A separate toilet for the White Room might be an issue for some.

I gave the host my exact arrival time and had to stand outside in the rain as no door code or instructions had been sent. I left a message by voicemail, and fortunately someone who works in the bar downstairs let me in and took me up to my room.

- monia (9/5): comfortable room with character - this is the second time I stay at Acapulco Rooms, it is a very good location when visiting Southsea. The room has character and was very comfortable too.
- Dave (6/5): My stay was pretty good, but this place would not suit everyone. - I went down to Portsmouth for a Monday night gig on Albert Road. The area is full of bars and eateries and has some interesting shops. It's also only a ten minute walk down to the seafront. I also enjoyed a few pints in the quirky Phoenix pub just down the road. The rooms are directly above a bar which was closed on the day I was there. Had it been open I think the room would have had a very different feel and been much less of a pleasant stay. My room had a shower but the private toilet was in the room next door.

- George (4/5): I stayed for 5 days, and feel if you were passing through Portsmouth this would be a good spot to hole up for a night. H - The property was easy to find, the pub downstairs was decent with the open mic night which was all local bands/artists, and it had everything that was necessary to stay. The lack of air conditioning meant that the room got oppressively hot throughout the day. The kitchenette was only stocked with 2 sachets of Nescafé coffee, and no sugar. The underside of the bed had not been cleaned, meaning when I brought my suitcase along the floor a collection of dust, hair, and grime followed it. The bead curtains on the bathroom, whilst providing a certain je-nais-ce-qoui, seemed a strange choice.

- Denise (9/5): Portsmouth stay. - It was easy to find, and once I knew how, it was easy to gain access. The room had everything needed to make my stay comfortable. My only gripe was that I couldn't get the television to work, which may have been due to flat batteries in the remote. Also, the hand basin in the room, I pressed the plug down to fill it with some water, but couldn't get it to pop back up.

- donna (8/5): - Shower waste needs cleaning, the tray had filled with water when in use. Needs a good clean round the bottom where the shower doors are. The remote control quite dirty, couldnt find many channels on tv. If you have mobility issues, then you will struggle, as there is a spiral staircase, and narrow straircase. i had blue room and had a double bed, could of done with a bedside table instead of chair, not really much room to put a cup on. I'd say its the perfect place if you are young and want the night life, its very noisey till early hours, 3.40am people outside shouting, could hear them even with windows closed, its an old building, without double glazing,parking was anightmare! There is a seperate kitchen area and small fridge which was handy for a couple of cans of drink, kettle and crockery, i wouldn't stay again due to the noise and stairs i am 56, visiting my son at uni

- Leigh (10/5): Portsmouth (Southsea) weekender - Excellent value for money and location spot on not far from Portsmouth centre if you want to got there for a night out but need when the location is situated perfectly with plenty of pubs like pub underneath as part of stay, craft bars etc and food options No issues
- Katie (5/5): Very noisy location on a Saturday night - It was great to have an en-suite bathroom, was a cheap price. The owner had great communication. The staff and customers in the bar downstairs were friendly. It was on too busy a street. I was extremely noisy until 3am with people walking/running up the road, screaming/singing. Cars and motorcycles zooming up and down. If I had known it would be like this, I would have booked somewhere quieter. The rug needs replacing as it was black around the edges and the mirror needs cleaning and the dust removed from the skirting boards.

Easy check in via a texted door code. Quirky- somewhat bohemian - in terms of decor and furnishings which gives the place a certain charm!

- Sal P (5/5): Nice area and friendly staff, bad the room and the mattress - Friendly staff, property located in a safe area, well serviced with many nice pubs, and also not far from the sea. A damaged and uncomfortable mattress with springs coming loose, which made me sleep poorly. Small room almost entirely occupied by the bed. Very old windows that, even when closed at night when the temp dropped, allow humidity to come in. Old and dusty carpets on top of the carpet. Property far from the city centre

- Kate (7/5): Good budget option in a nice part of Portsmouth. - This is a very good value place and it position in Southsea is very convenient and a short bus ride from the old town, but equally close to the sea front. The room I stayed in (Blue Room) was quite small but had the right amenities and an ensuite shower room. There was a band on during the Wednesday night that I stayed over - finished by 11pm so no trouble to sleep but it was a bit noisy. The broadband cut out at one point for quite a while - unclear why.
