Guest Reviews
- Molly (5/5): Too damp and overpriced - The man at reception was nice and helpful The place seems a lot more run down compared to the pictures and in need of repainting. Worst of all was the damp and mould. Our first bungalow had a corner covered in mould right by the head of the bed. Using a mixture of google translate and pictures we were able to convey this to reception and they immediately offered us another bigger bungalow. This didn’t have much visible mould but still smelt of mould and felt damp. We both woke up with sore throats. Could be a nice place if the damp issues are fixed.
- Joshua (7/5): Pleasant retreat to recharge your batteries and take in the calm scenery - Looking for a pleasant setting off the beaten path? Nestled in the quiet hills of outer Mae Hong Son about 4.5 kilometers or 3 miles from the city center you'll find the quaint Phuchomjan Resort with bungalow-style accommodations. I was greeted by friendly staff and checked into my room very easily. There was plenty of coffee and tea provided, a small refrigerator, working air-conditioner with added fan, firm and comfortable bed, puffy pillows and clean bedding. The bathroom had a great bath which I used a couple of times. There was a small desk for coffee and work, and an inviting balcony with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and even a banana tree just near my bungalow. It was a peaceful and serene stay with soft Thai and Thai Yai music coming from a distant bungalow, quiet chatter, laughter and happiness from other patrons. Bonus: There is a great little market and restaurant very near by, less than a 2 minute walk. The owner's name is Dam and the name of the shop is Hoi Kha. It is quite isolated from the center city of Mae Hong Son. Best to rent a scooter or motorcycle. There are not many other transport options and the resort is located on a very busy road. The sound from the cars is not audible in most of the resort area so it didn't impact the quality of the stay. The front desk spoke a little bit of English but were very accommodating and lent me an umbrella on a rainy afternoon.
- Jimmy (9/5): Superb - One the Mae Hong Song route. Cheap and simple. A very steep slope to navigate in order to get to the room. Room is far away from any shops etc.
