Julie (9/5): A fantastic place to stay in beautiful surroundings with the most amazing staff. Thank you - The staff were amazing , so happy and pleasant. George was especially nice & very helpful. The evening meal was exceptional. The shower in our room was just fabulous!!! Our room was a little small however we did book last minute and were made aware when booking that it was a comfort room. It was fine for an overnight stay- very cosy.

From the luxurious bed linens to the food I booked half board and it was a very good deal , plus they gave us vouchers for free entry to Raby Castle is a must see..plus the high and low force waterfalls don’t miss them

Engaged and really made you feel like you were the most important item on their agenda. The location is stunning. We took the opportunity to do a short walk and it was amazing! Nothing really.
Jane (7/5): Comfortable place to stay in beautiful Teesdale. - The staff are lovely - welcoming and helpful. The location is great and the rooms are well-appointed and the bathroom modern. The housekeeping team changed our very thick duvet for a sheet and blanket which was much appreciated. The room had shutters and thick curtains so it was nice and dark for sleeping which is not often the case in hotels. Once the kitchen shut down, it was very quiet. There are great walks from the doorstep. Our room was above the kitchen and there was a lot of loud conversation from the kitchen team until service ended at about 10pm - so not particularly relaxing. The food is not quite as good as it should be - the cooked breakfasts are excellent but the dishes at dinner were a bit variable. The fish and chips were a bit greasy and the triple-cooked chips soggy. The tomato sauce accompanying a pork dish tasted like it was out of a jar rather than made from scratch. The croissants at breakfast were very dry.

The bedroom was very very warm despite having the window wide open and it was a little noisy in my room. I was in a single room above an exterior door and evertime the door closed my whole room shook. It woke me up multiple times

Lovely bar area and really enjoyed our food, both dinner and breakfast. Only things that could be improved is that there was a slight bit of mould/staining in the shower area. The kettle felt a bit squashed in the wardrobe once clothes were hung up. I removed the clothes from the wardrobe each time I boiled the kettle. Also a little noisy in the middle of the night with other guests speaking loudly in the corridor trying to find staff members and waking me up.

Tracy (10/5): Will be back - Hotel was located in a beautiful setting. There was ample free parking. Good choice of breakfast items. We also ate in the restaurant both evenings. The food was delicious. The bar area was cosy. Room was spacious with everything we required. We had to turn the radiators off though as room was far to hot for me. Not a bad point just personal preference, it was great to have the choice of hot or cold room though. We had a dog friendly room and thought it was great my dog could accompany me in the dining room, which was spacious.

The chef made my husband a delicious cake for his birthday. We were surprised, and disappointed at the number of dogs allowed in the dining area. This would deter us rebooking for any future visit.

Wendy (10/5): HIGH FORCE HOTEL - Hotel was clean, friendly and ideally located for walks and visiting surrounding areas. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had an evening meal, breakfast, coffee and cake during our stay, food was well presented, good portion sizes and tasted great. Room was clean, cosy and quiet, bed was very comfortable. We throughly enjoyed our stay here.

Kathryn (7/5): Lovely - but bedroom far to small - The food- evening meal & breakfast were excellent & cooked to a very high standard The hotel was very clean The location with the walk down to the waterfall- free admission included in hotel Staff were friendly & accomodating- plenty of lovely walks close to the hotel the double room was tiny - especially with a dog in the room too - there really was no space - for the amount we paid for a double room I would have expected a much larger room. We didi specify & hope for a quiet room as we are not used to traffic noise but unfortuantely the room was situated at the front of the hotel -roadside - it was a very hot evening & had to try to sleep with the window open- however it is a busy road with very fast noisy motor bikes

Alison (9/5): Perfect weekend retreat in glorious surroundings - Beautifully appointed and comfortable bedroom. Fantastic breakfast, and we also dined there in the evening and had a lovely meal. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Jade (10/5): Beautiful location, the best staff, amazing food - I booked a one night stay with my husband and from start to finish we were made to feel special! It was my husbands birthday treat so they put prosecco & beer in the room upon arrival, we had room number 5, was comfortable with warm, relaxing decor. Our bathroom was so beautiful, a huge bath that fit two no problem and the lighting that set the ambiance was a lovely suprise! Nice and comfortable, staff couldn’t have done enough to help, big shout out to Ashleigh and the team for the unreal service and attention to detail, food at dinner & breakfast were delicious! Stunning walks close by, the guy on the gate leading to the falls is very helpful and lovely too! Will 100% be back, thank you again! Everything was lovely!

Hannah (10/5): Fantastic guest house! Worth every penny - The bedrooms were beautiful, clean, and very comfy beds! The staff were so friendly and welcoming! The breakfast was incredible, all locally sourced, great selection! Couldn’t ask for more!
