The room was lovely and clean, and the little interaction we had with staff was great! I would recommend it. It was very conveniently located across from the ferry terminal. Nothing to dislike at all

Lovely en-suite room across the road from the Ferry Inn. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and my only disappointment is that I couldn't finish it all! The toilet seat was very "sharp"! The main evening meal was unremarkable, the scallops were wonderful, fresh and perfectly cooked, but the burger and hake main meal left a lot to be desired.

- Robert (9/5): Überraschung - Direkt am Fährhafen und deshalb gebucht. Sehr erstaunt, was sich hinter der Fassade dann aufgetan hat. Ein richtig gutes Restaurant, eine gute Bar und wirklich tolle Zimmer. Der Weg dorthin ist allerdings nichts für große Leute - Achtung Kopf einziehen. Das war uns einige Fotos und viel Lachen wert. Eben typisch Schottland. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Das Service zuvorkommend, aber nicht aufdringlich. Bier-Versorgung vorzüglich ;-) Vorbuchen empfohlen - ist richtig voll dort. Klare Empfehlung für eine gemütliche Zeit.

Tiene un pub muy animado y donde se come muy bien. A pesar de tener un pub, yo no oí ni un ruido en mi habitación ninguna noche. El desayuno no estaba mal, pero comparado con el resto de sitios en los que estuve, no era tan bueno.
- Luisa (10/5): Una deliziosa locanda adatta per una visita della graziosa Stromness - Il Ferry Inn, come dice il nome, si trova esattamente di fronte al terminal traghetti (nonché alla stazione degli autobus), è quindi comodissimo per chi arriva/parte da Stromness. E' un edificio grazioso e chiaramente storico, ma con tutti i comfort consentiti da una ristrutturazione recente (ricordare che in questo tipo di edifici ci sono scale per raggiungere le stanze e non ascensori). Il ristorante è ottimo sia per cena/pranzo che per la colazione, abbondante e varia.

We arrived with a bit of bluster - late ferry over from Hoy, needing to check 8 people into three rooms, had dinner booked, and some of our group were still collecting luggage from the previous place (sister hotel The Royal). The chap behind bar was very surprised they had not been transported over. Without any fuss, he just jumped in his van and drove off to sort it out for us (literally a 2-minute drive, but still). Turned what was a relative faff into a non-problem. Everything else ran smoothly too - dinner booking handled perfectly despite the complicated arrival. Just really thoughtful, can-do attitude throughout. Quieter evening vibe than the Royal (or could just be Friday versus Saturday). Great selection of local whiskies and beers. Located directly opposite bus/ferry terminal great travel options for Hoy, Scara Brae, Kirkwall all within 30 mins, and loads more beyond. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone who appreciates staff who actually care about making your stay work. Nothing

The food was good & they had several choices for each course. The location was excellent for the Scrabaster/Stromness ferry & it was easy to navigate to Kirkwall & all the sights.

Bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a view of the harbour. Dinner needs to be booked in advance and is really good quality, top marks to the Chef. The only “negative “ comment is that the shower floor was slippery with no mat or strips on the shower floor to keep you from potentially slipping. Loved everything about this place in terms of our needs as was right across the street from the ferry terminal. No elevators to second floor so be forewarned if you are elderly this might be a negative, but for these two older ladies, we loved the staff and the place.
