Guest Reviews
- Gina (8/5): Great place to stay - Location, price, staff, comfy bed. All good
- Michael (7/5): -
- Ian (7/5): A pleasant stay with good amenities. Would consider it again next time need to stay in the area. - Location was good, nice to look out over the river and watch the boats, rowers etc. Nice sized apartment and good to have air cons in all bedrooms. Even with a main road going past you really did not hear traffic noise with windows shut and air con on. Pool looked good, we just did not have time to use it. Was reasonably close to Suncorp stadium we were staying for a concert so used the bus to get there - a handy bus stop out front of apartments. Walked back from the concert. Parking was a little tight with a long 4wd, drove extra cautious around the curving up/down ramps. Cleanliness was lacking with dust in cupboards and overall a little lax in bathrooms.
- Kiah (2/5): - The staff were lovely The rooms were very outdated and the benches hadn't been cleaned, felt very uncomfortable not knowing whether everything else had been cleaned
- William (10/5): -
- Charlie (7/5): - Noisy traffic.
- Shawna (10/5): -
- Julie (9/5): Great spot and we will definitely stay there again - Location looking over the river was beautiful.
Within walking distance to hospital and facilities was amazing Everything was great
- Michelle (5/5): Even though the room was dirty the location and facilities were great - The location was just perfect, we could easily drive a short distance or walk to food, transportation etc. The room was very dirty, spoke to management and they were very apologetic and gave us a discount
- Helen (5/5): We have stayed at fairthorpe many times before but would have to seriously consider staying again after this time. - We like the situation Found the unit not properly cleaned and rubbish on the underside of rubbish bin and splashed up wall. Shower ceiling totally peeling.
- David (8/5): - Very clean and spacious. A lovely view over the river. The curtains didn't quite fit, so it wasn't pleasant having the sun beam in just after 4am.
- Smith (4/5): Great location but that’s about it. - The location was great for our purpose. Blood stain on sheets in apt
Water coming up through the bathroom floor in the bathroom in the apt
Toe nail clippings on carpet so not cleaned or vacuumed
Poor communication with guest check in - was advised a car space which resulted in car damage as they had given my car space away to another guest due to the size of “their” vehicle
Extreme Rudeness from another permanent resident. So NO I won’t stay here again
- Liz (8/5): - Close to where I needed to be. Great views. No tea or coffee complementary.
- Angela (10/5): Excellent accommodation highly recommend - Very easy to get access and very helpful with everything. Lovely accommodation It was all excellent and would definitely book again. Very handy for the cricket at The Gabba
- Lucy (8/5): Brilliant - Pretty much everything that we needed :)
Great balcony view
Easy access to city - bus, train and boat Didnt realise no air con in second bedroom - but had a stand alone fan
- Andrew (8/5): Excellent and we love it - It is a good apartment I like the property
- Dean (9/5): -
- Atkins (9/5): - Great sized apartment in a great location. Short walk to train and ferry and good view of the river and city. Secure free parking is awesome and I found the whole building was clean for the age. The room was a little knocked around but was clean and great for the family. I have stayed here a few times and find things really easy. No milk for coffee or tea.
- matt (1/5): Don't bother booking in here - Living room, terrace No curtains in bedroom only blinds, with a light directly outside it was like trying to sleep in daylight.
Worst night I've ever spent in a motel
No parking spots set aside for pre check in parking
- Robyn (8/5): - Close to hospital.
- maxine (3/5): - Apartment needs a good clean, all crockery/utensils/pots and pans filthy, freezer door full of food, freezer dirty fridge smelt awful. I moved a box on corner table to find thick dust (I left it there) kitchen splash back needed cleaning. The apartment is now cleaner than when I arrived! There was no tea towel, everything grubby, most disappointing . Cobwebs in my bedroom
- Sally (8/5): - Fantastic to have covered, secure parking! Property was much bigger than I thought it would be. Had everything we needed. Bus stop right outside and easy walk to river ferry.
- Joanne (10/5): - The apartment was perfect for our grown family, the living area was spacious and clean. The location was close to transport and local pubs, and the view was awesome. We would definitely book this again!!
- Tanita (5/5): Would be an amazing location with just a few adjustments - just needs a little love and updating. - The apartment was spacious and well-equipped. The TV was awesome. The view is great and the balcony is so nice to sit on and watch the river. Unfortunately, the cleaning was a bit... lacklustre. All the curtains were stained or half falling off their runners. One of them in the master bedroom even had mould on the edge and on the windowsill around it. The two single beds were in poor shape; one was all but collapsed in the centre with the bottom coming out on the floor underneath.
- Kim (7/5): -
- Shellie-marie (10/5): Great views! Great price! - Nice and close to the City. Great views. Friendly and helpful Admin staff. Easy check in and out. Great sized unit with all the comforts of home. Will be staying again.
- Janine (9/5): For a last minute booking it was everything I needed at a reasonable price - Location was great. Clean and spacious
- Stephen (7/5): - Great location, nice views Very very noisy
- Tony GOULDING (5/5): Won't be back - It was clean Had TV's in the bedrooms great but could not use no remote in the main bedroom other bedroom no channels available, bed's were very uncomfortable mattresses old, soft and past their due date. Ensuites and showers very small, hot water was on and off no consistency.
- Michael (10/5): - My young family loved our stay here. The apartment had fantastic views and oodles of space. While the building is not modern, everything was in reasonable condition and still very comfortable. My wife quite enjoyed the Frog and Toad Cafe nearby.
- Russell Arthur (10/5): - This property was fabulous
- Rob (8/5): -
- Neil (8/5): Comfortable - It was a large spacious apartment with a great view of the river. The facilities were more than adequate.
It was a little tired but we loved the space, the shower was strong and there was a nice TV although we couldn't manage to pair our phone with the TV. Could have done with some milk and tea. Small criticism but a drink on arrival would be nice and not to have to go out to find some would help.
It was a little tired but we can't complain.
- Anne (7/5): Good -
- Jude (1/5): Customer service was apauling - having to call the manager who is off site and not even there- delay trying to check in. - Location Service, check in process, cleanliness,
- Barry (10/5): - A very convenient location to the Wesley Hospital. Short walk and avoided parking costs. Easy to check in and easy to book in. Staff friendly and helpful. Accommodation spacious and parking great. Comfortable apartment overlooking the river. Great views. Close to rail station for connection to city. All good.
- Carmen (7/5): OK - Location Did not receive a towel
- Charmain (7/5): Lovely apartment, well situated and close to hospital and restaurant’s. - Location to hospital and it was a lovely apartment. Parking was great! Glass table in hallway is a safety hazard. No milk in fridge🤬, bed in main room was far too soft, and there were some dirty splatter marks on bathroom ceiling.
- Ester (8/5): - The property is a bit dated and a bit noisy because it is overlooking a main road. However, it was clean, the staff were pleasant, the parking was easy and the price of accommodation was good.
- B-lang (1/5): Absolute rubbish - The pool was cold, but too cold for the kids. It was cheap for a reason There were visible holes in the wall, the fan and tv didn’t work in one of the bedrooms, the pillows in the main bedroom had stains on them, the was no cold water or milk in the fridge , also no security screens on windows or doors to enjoy the breeze without getting smashed by mosquitoes
- Vikki (9/5): Superb -
- Ashley (1/5): Bad -
- Elizabeth (4/5): Disappointing - Good location, near the river and Wesley Hospital. Cockroaches, TV didn't work properly, no tea towel, had to ask for tea and coffee satchels
- Jacquelin (2/5): Disappointing - Proximity to Wesley hospital
Size of apartment
Bed was comfortable The most unclean apartment I have ever stayed in, in Australia.
- Yvette (8/5): Very good - The lady we dealt with was friendly and tried to accommodate our needs. The apartment was close to where one of our family lived and reasonably close to the Toowong Shopping Village. The main bedroom air conditioner didn't work, nor did the light in the ensuite toilet. There was no tea towel nor hand towel provided in the kitchen.
- Kim (3/5): Poor - The first apartment we were put into, #5, was filthy. Rug under dining table stained and dirty with a raised up crinkle that couldn't be straighten thus created a trip hazard. Had to put a chair over it to stop catchng foot in it. Aircons full of mould and dust. Bedhead in bedroom had about 1cm dust layer on as. Bedside clock found on floor behind bedside table. Vacuum cleaner full of WET mouldy sludge. Laundry area full of thick dust. Oven dirty and not even wiped out crumbs etc still in it. Kitchen light didn't work. Apartment smelt like deep fryer.
After complaining several times manager offered to move us to a better apartment and then helped us move. Second apartment, #22, much cleaner although could still use a thorough 'deep' clean.
Had we not been moved from original apartment we would have checked out and gone somewhere else. My husband is undergoing chemo and that apartment was so dirty it was not a good environment for him to be in.
Definitely not value for money.
- Natasha (8/5): - A very spacious apartment with great river views.
- Elly (7/5): Great location, good size apartment, lovely view! - Great location and good size apartment to stay in with amenities. Bathrooms weren’t very clean. Found a needle syringe in one of the bedside table drawers.. not ideal.
- Carolynn (10/5): - Great overnight stay had everything we needed
- Stacey (4/5): Disappointing - Location The apartment was quite unclean. Staff were unfriendly
- Janice (2/5): Do not recommend these apartments. - Location to the Wesley Hospital We were given no paperwork on arrival, nothing to say what the wifi code was, properly facilities, check out times etc. The apartment clearly had not been used for a period of time and was not cleaned just prior to our stay. Their were live cockroaches in the fridge as the temp was turned down so much, the air con in the lounge didn’t work on the cooling function and in 35/36 degree heat it was not comfortable to sit on the lounge and watch TV. The apartment was in disrepair, mould on the bathroom
ceilings, paint flaking off and poor patch jobs over multiple areas. The cold water tap in the twin share bathroom came out as a dribble, the hot water came out with black sediment which indicates it hasn’t been turned on for a while. The twin share bedroom air con remote didn’t work and the batteries were corroded into the remote, luckily the other bedroom had a working remote we could use to turn the aircon on. Twice in the night the apartment door was rattled as if someone was trying to get in. We felt unsafe here on the ground floor in apartment 2. For the price we paid for one nights accomodation I’d expect a lot more and received a lot higher standard in the Oasis Apartments on the same road when we stayed there the week before.
- Annalise (9/5): Amazing!! - The room was huge everything was well set out we really enjoyed our stay. Would 100% stay there again. The aircon in the lounge room wasn’t cooling down the room, there was a dead cockroach stuck in the blinds, the sheets were stained and the batteries in one of the bedroom remotes for the aircon were dead.
- Dawn (7/5): Was a convenient location, but lots of road noise, could use some better sound proofing on bedroom windows, also looking - Was convenient Run down, needs some TLC
- Judy (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (3/5): Not the nicest stay - Not much. The location was handy for what we needed. The unit was not clean and there was mould. One air con did not work. Everything was cheap, mismatched, poor quality. The unit was very tired and outdated. The whole building, lift, corridors were filthy and smelt. The gardens were uncared for, overgrown, rubbish laying around.
- Julieann (8/5): - Great location, small milk in fridge would have been nice.
- Carol (8/5): Bed was comfortable and in a good position! - Good position Furniture damage. No soap in the main bathroom. Refrigerator needed a wipe out!
- Tara (6/5): Good apartment at good location. - Large apartment with bedrooms separated by lounge room, large kitchen and bathroom with bath, separate toilet, ample kitchen items. No blockout curtains or blinds in lounge or bedrooms to keep out light or heat. No milk supplied or face washer for bathing. No spare blankets provided.
- Lauren (6/5): Overall happy with the apartment. Great location and reasonably priced. - Location was fantastic. Great size rooms and amenities in the room Air conditioners were very dirty inside. Need a good clean.
- Jelena (5/5): Passable -
- Andrrw (8/5): Very good -
- Kaylene (8/5): - Great location and a very pleasant stay.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Location
- Mooney (8/5): Comfy and great view - Loved the position. Great to have 2 bathrooms and toilets Aircon doesn’t work in lounge area.
No wine glasses only water glasses. One glass goblet was dirty and chipped. Balcony very dusty
- Shelley (4/5): - The property has a convenient position for events at Suncorp Stadium and safe parking but the units are older and ours was filthy in both bathrooms, kitchen, laundry and the balcony. Nothing had been cleaned. There was used soap and hair in the base of the shower, food scrapes left in the fridge and freezer, clothing left in the dryer, cans and cigarette butts on the balcony and the cooktop was also not clean. Linen was clean but the pillows were so stained you could see it through the pillowcase. We had to wash all cutlery and crockery before we used it. Thankful we were only there for 1 night. Would never book again.
- Shayne (9/5): Enjoyed it so much, - We loved the location, right near the hospital and right near Suncorp Stadium where we went to watch the Pacific Championship, the height 10th floor, the pool was lovely but needs a rain to help you out The fridge had food in it,a couple of plates were dirty, the leather lounges were old and peeling but comply, other then that we enjoyed staying there, the Young lady was very nice, and I’d stay there again,
- Paul (9/5): Superb - It was very comfortable beautiful views easy access very inviting
- Katherine (7/5): Good - For me the location was excellent as it is so close to the Wesley Hospital, where I needed to visit my husband. I loved the view of the River and the city lights. For anyone visiting and needing to access the city or Southbank it is an excellent location, close to river cat and train station. Phoebe was lovely to deal with and very helpful. While the apartment was clean, it needed more time and attention. The lift wasn't clean or very inviting and failed to work on the morning I checked out, which made my job of carrying bags and belongings from the bottom floor to my car difficult. [I'm 71 and was on my own] Lobby and office are area are cramped and need updating. Noise from Coronation Drive is an issue, but comes with River views I suppose.
- Angela (5/5): Frustrating and became ill with chest infectionfor a week - Locatiln was good for the wesley hospital
We used this particular hotel for this reason. Staff not on site
Mould on ceiling
Out of date coffee
Dirty pool unusable
Couldnt usr tennis courts- no rackets on site
- Josephine- (4/5): Average - Location was good. Aparment was spacious. Cleanliness of apartment was poor. Windows badly smeared as was splashback . Dust built up in corners of room blown lightbulb in lamp , stains on carpet shower rececces very grubby, generally felt like apartment needed some TLC
- Elise (4/5): - Fine stay but definitely did not feel clean
- Lisa (5/5): Passable - Wr didn't end up staying only checked in and then later returned the keys
- Tracey (6/5): - The view was lovely
- Rebecca (8/5): Fabulous views with helpful owners! - Well positioned and fabulous views. Helpful and friendly people on at desk as well as service centre. Really loved hearing from owners themselves. Nothing it was great!
- Angela (4/5): Not good apart from location - Location.. thats it!! I have photos..
unit was dirty, mould on ceiling. No toilet paper. Bin was stinking.
Pool was not cleaned for the three days
Full of leaves and dirty at bottom of pool..
Reception staff didn’t even look up from computer when we raised issues and again asked for tennis rackets they said no you should use your own again not even looking up from their computer
- Cheryl (7/5): Good - The room was spacious and had a great view. I was disappointed that the kitchen was not as clean as it ought to have been. The bin was overflowing and a vase of manky water was left on the bench. No tea towel or chux / wash cloth was provided which made washing up a challenge.
There were no instructions for the TV and the three remotes were not intuitive. I suggest instructions for the TV.
- Sandra (10/5): - We have been staying here every 4 weeks for years now. They are great apartments with everything you need. Great view of river. Close to city and shopping centre.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Craig (8/5): Very good - Good Location, nice outlook of the river. Very large apartment. Cleanliness. Pillow cases left on the floor in the master bedroom. Only one soap between both bathrooms. Only one tea bag and no coffee.
- Charlotte (3/5): Really comfy bed but not very clean and a bit run down. - Great location and the staff were friendly. The bed was super comfy and so were the couches.
Carpet was nice underfoot and appeared clean.
Parking was easy. It was pretty dirty, no clean surfaces and the cupboards were all dirty with left over food scraps and flour from previous tenants. You could see that things had been wiped down but unfortunately with a dirty cloth so there were dirty streaks everywhere.
The showers hadn’t been cleaned well and there was an old broken bar of soap on the floor in one. They didn’t work properly with poor pressure and one of them going hot and cold constantly. Broken towel rails in the second bathroom were all shoved into the cupboard.
There were no working lights in the second bedroom. No cleaning supplies at all, no cloths to wipe anything.
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Yulanna (6/5): - Positives about the property were:-
- the view of the city and river
- the second glass door which restricted the noise of the very busy road below
-close to public transport such as a train station and city cat terminals.
-dishwasher did a good job.
Things that impacted our stay:-
- No coffee/ condiments/ oil/ bin liners/ teatowels/ face washers available.
- No electric blankets in the middle of winter or more blankets available
-Half of the lamps did not work
- taps were challenging- do not turn off cold tap fully in tub otherwise keeps running, no water came from tap if hot water on in kitchen as well (not even cold water)
-bedrooms were outdated compared to the photos provided.
-washer and dryer were very small (so small loads required) Dryer stopped after short time.
- Only shampoo and tiny soap bar offered in bathroom and two rolls of toilet paper for a 3 night stay.
-Ice tray in the freezer was a broken ice cube tray and we only had four tiny squares of a ice tray.
- No internet hooked up to the t.v.
-Needed daily codes for internet rather than one code for the whole stay.
- No microwave safe containers
- Emailed them to ask about electric blankets being available days prior so we could bring something and received no response
- Management is new so still learning the ropes.
- Children wanted to swim (we knew it was not heated) but after 10 minutes max swim time my daughter had large rash all over her body.
- Natalie (5/5): Passable - It was very dusty we only stayed one night instead of the 2.
- Pamela (6/5): The apartment building was very old. - Location was good and the receptionist was very helpful. It was within walking distance to Suncorp. The bedding and bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable. The apartment was dusty and there was some rubbish under tv cabinet. I realize there was some maintenance going on most floors probably causing more dust than usual. And it had a musty smell.
- David (1/5): Never again. - The lady at the front desk was polite. This place hasn't been touched since the 90's. Dirty. Uncomfortable. Over priced. Ad stated it was a 15min walk to Suncorp. More like 40mins. Awful.
- Richard (6/5): Pleasant - The location was amazing
Friendly staff
Comfortable clean beds
Great proximity to suncorp stadium No aircon in 2nd bedroom
Glass tables were dangerous for night
Cig butts on verandah
No water jug in fridge to hold cold water
- Simone (8/5): Very good -
- Keith (8/5): Hidden gem - The apartment was spacious, the beds were comfy, sound proof windows was a plus to block out the noise from the traffic N/A
- Stuart (5/5): Passable - The relaxation due to size of apartment. No Soap for bathrooms. Tv didn't work after it was turned off the first night.
- Stacey (10/5): Lovely management - Nancy was an absolute gem, there was a stuff up with my stay and she came in after hours to sort things out for me.
Close to everything I needed, good security measures and great value for money.
Thank you for the stay 🙏
- Carron (6/5): Lovely location and accommodating and friendly hosts! - The hosts were very accommodating and lovely people. The location was perfect for our family plans. Unfortunately the room wasn't presented as you'd expect. They must have just had the TV replaced, as the person who did it, had left their rubbish everywhere; the new TV box, the wrapping materials, the old tv etc. There was a spilt milk drink on the carpet and they also left the balcony door open. All this just as we walked in the front door.
We were able to speak with the hosts who were lovely enough to come and clean what they could and even refunded half our 2 night stay. The room needed a more thorough clean then what had been done before our arrival. The air conditioning was covered in dust, curtains stained and dusty and drink stains on the balcony, just to name a few.
- Anonymous (7/5): Lovely location but the accomodation need some work. - Fantastic spot! Broken towel rails, lounge in very poor condition - torn and decaying. Shower was complicated to turn off. A number of bowls unclean. Very minimal cleaning clothes (which I needed). Outdoor seating and table was filthy (I had to clean it before my father could sit there). Aircon / heating was problematic with only one remote working properly.
- Renee (9/5): Good - Great view plenty of room for the family. Little bit dated .
- Mary (8/5): A very pleasant stay at Fairthorpe Apartments. The apartment was well located, large and comfortable. The view is beauti - Location and size of apartment. The view. Check in was easy. Value for money. Facilities a little bit tired. Could do with a bit of a spruce up.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was spacious and had a beautiful view of the city. The balcony was a great place to sit and watch the city light up. Everything was supplied that we could possibly need. We will be back Nothing :)
- Shiralee (5/5): Passable -
- Philippa (9/5): Fantastic location - Smooth checkin. Great location with fantastic views.
Free easy parking is so helpful.
Spacious apartment - well laid out. Slightly dusty. A little on the expensive side, but the location made up for that!
- Katie (7/5): Nothing fancy but good location and reasonable price with included parking. - Very great and convenient location on many major bus routes to the city. Great view of the river. Coronation drive is obviously loud but with the double glazing we couldn’t hear anything inside. Excellent shower pressure. The kitchen was very basically equipped. We were only given the very basics for cleaning up. One chux wipe and one dishwasher tablet and only little sachet of dishwashing liquid for 2 night stay. No tea or coffee or anything. The recliner armchairs were a bit dodgy and wouldn’t seem to click back. The apartment itself was freezing but did have reverse cycle aircon in the living and main bedroom. The 2nd bedroom had none and was cold but there were luckily some extra blankets. No extra towels and we were given one short for our party. The 2nd bathroom had a bright light shining in the window all night with no blind so it was quite bright in there.
- Deepak (8/5): Very good - Location
- Tony (9/5): Superb -
