Guest Reviews
- René (10/5): -
- Paula (9/5): Beautiful premises and beach was stunning. Staff were lovely. Expensive but worth it. - High standards throughout the premises and assess to beach was amazing Restaurant options limited for kids
- Danny (9/5): -
- Caitriona (7/5): Lovely resort on a great beach but food beverage and activities too expensive - The restaurants are very over priced and quality do the food is poor.
Apart from that the resort is lovely . Quality and price of restaurants .
€32 charge for use of tennis court also excessive .
- Christian (8/5): - Wir haben das Frühstück doppelt bezahlt, einmal bei
Booking com und auch beim Hotel.
- Frank (9/5): - Heel goed ontbijt buffet, zeer comfortabele kamers/ appartement Niets
- Candice (10/5): -
- Cédric (10/5): -
- Robert Calum (9/5): - Range of facilities and excellent service Beach restaurant closed until further notice but wasn’t advised in advance. Restaurants are expensive, even for a five star resort.
- Helena (10/5): -
- Henning (9/5): -
- Syed (7/5): Wonderful location but certainly overpriced - Large multi hotel facilities with several restaurants, swimming pools, and lots of open space for roaming around with beach access. Too large that at times it feels uncomfortable. Not a true 5 star but a large resort like feel. The restaurants and cafes are extremely overpriced to Switzerland level, a margarita pizza on its own cost €24 plus service charge. Any kind of drink starts from €5, which is unreasonable in Portugal
- Галина (8/5): A beautiful place with great facilities and cleanliness, but some details (room view, kids club) can affect the overall - Beautiful, very green and well-maintained territory. Stunning beach with cliffs. The apartment was spacious, modern, and very well equipped (even a blender), and housekeeping was excellent. Good restaurants on site and several swimming pools. Convenient parking. Our apartment overlooked a road and playground instead of a garden - recommend requesting a garden-view room. The kids club must be booked in advance and works in fixed time slots; the morning session (9:30–12:30) costs €47. This was not clearly explained and didn’t feel worth the price. The indoor pool is small, requires a swimming cap, and has a very strong chlorine smell. Outdoor pools are not heated. The beach restaurant is currently closed.
- Vicky (10/5): Exceptional resort, beautifully laid out in a stunning part of the Algarve. Restaurants, cafes, supermarkets all within - The location of the resort was exceptional. Steps down to the most glorious beach which went on as far as the eye could see. Staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. Padel and tennis courts were always available and in excellent condition. The grounds were immaculate. We stayed out of season so quite a few of the resort restaurants were closed.

- Ann Bernadette (10/5): - We had a 2 bedroom garden suite looking out onto the pool area. It was at the exit beside the restaurant Peri-Peri which is part of Pune Cliff and it was just across the road to the supermarket if you needed to buy anything. We were self catering but every day the cleaner came and replaced tea towel, towels, tea bags, dishwasher tablets, cleaning clothes- it was amazing they also washed any dishes and put the remainder in the dishwasher and put it on. The only thing I had to do was take the dishes out of the dishwasher and put away. The room also had a complimentary water filter which had different settings, complimentary bedroom slippers and there was bathrobes. When you check in at the hotel reception you get your room key and towel key cards so you get a towel at the pools when you give your card and when you give the towel back you get your towel card back. You have to pay a facility fee for every night you are there which you only pay when you leave and the tourist tax for every night you are there.you can use any one of 8 pools and you can use 3 gyms one of which offers classes which you pay extra for. There is an adventure park with zip line and mini golf and the hotel has its own beach with a lift down to a boardwalk to the beach and big shout out to Zest restaurant for very refreshing snacks in the beautiful sunshine not to mention the hairdresser and the spa.we were there Sept- Oct 2025 and it was beautiful sunshine every day unlike Northern Ireland.
- Steve (10/5): -
- Carl (10/5): - What a beautiful resort. Spacious and modern, friendly staff and a great choice of activities, restaurants and bars. A true 5 star experience with the best views and beach. Can't wait to come back soon - this place is a hidden gem!
- Melinda (10/5): - Away from the party life. Nice and quiet. Incredible views
- Andrew (7/5): Wonderful hotel, restaurants expensive and below par but would comeback for sure - Immaculate accommodation, great choice of pools and great football coaching facility Service was not 5*, a little unhelpful. Buggies around the resort were unreliable and the restaurants on the resort were poor value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great amenities plenty for us and the children to do
- Nolan (10/5): - All of it. 5th time there.
- Sophia (8/5): Very enjoyable and comfortable stay - Everything was lovely, we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and you had everything you would need while staying there. Lots of space for us even with a toddler and a cot.
Very family friendly.
Also good to know the super market is right across the road from the main entrance and has everything you will need in there.
The Japanese restaurant was amazing defo recommend a visit. WiFi wasn’t the best it cut out a lot. Food and drink is expensive if you eat in the restaurants that require reservations, but that’s expected in places like this.
- Henrik (10/5): - Dejligt sted. Rengøring fin. Restauranterne var dog i den dyre ende!
- Ailyn (8/5): - Nice view to the beach.
- Andrey (9/5): -
- Viktor (10/5): - I spent very amazing time in pine cliff garden. The stay was comfortable, the rooms were clean and comfortable. There were many activities on the territory. I especially liked the beach. Nothing
- Abdussaid (10/5): -
- Sergey (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best family resort on the Algarve - Great as always
- Joanne (10/5): Paradise - It is lovely , spacious and bright .Very comfortable bed . Kitchen area was good made a few meals .It had everything you would need . Super clean , I was on the second floor and had a great view of the pool . Absolutely Nothing .
- Sebastien (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (10/5): - Beautiful property
So much to do with kids!
- Saul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Farrell (10/5): Top class resort. - Facilities were excellent - including golf course but were very pricey. Food and drink very over priced
- Stephen (10/5): - Terrific stay with great facilities and lots to do for the family!
- Robert (9/5): Beautiful property - The room was odd in that there was a large soaking tub in the middle of the entrance to the bathroom. It was unnecessary and was in the way. I doubt many people use it. The rook also had a full kitchen ( unnecessary for most guests, a shortage of storage for clothes and a washer/dryer that we couldn't figure out and neither could the staff. Some language difficulty with housekeeping staff but very nice.
- Ketan (10/5): - High quality modern apartment with very good appliances
- Conor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyle (10/5): - Was our first stay at the property, and will definitely be back. Sad that we only had a couple days, not enough time to enjoy all the amenities and the full property. Carolina at the front desk was outstanding!
- Peta (10/5): - Fabulous property for everyone whether you have kids or a romantic getaway. So
Many different areas, it didn't feel busy and the kids playground was superb. My 3 yesr old slept so well after so much activity throughout the day. We will definitely return. We stayed in the “Gardens” and the washing machine in the room was so useful for a family
on a 9 day trip.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gemma (6/5): Pleasant - We stayed in a 2 bed apartment. Huge bedrooms, very comfortable beds, very clean Unheated pools. They were freezing. We would not choose this resort again because of this.
- Eimear (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Delia (10/5): Fabulous week in the resort - Ocean Suites apartments are fabulous. Great week for our Golf practice
- Katalin (2/5): Very poor - Television doesn’t work. Unacceptable for a five star hotel.
- Brenda (10/5): - This was a great spot to round out our trip to Portugal. It was very comfortable for our family of four. We would stay here again.
- Stephanie (10/5): - We had the best time. Staff was lovely and the food was amazing. Service was 5 Star all the way!!! We would definitely return here.
- Cam (10/5): Luxury - Absolutely stunning views of the ocean, luxury accommodations Since it was the off season not all of the amenities were open but it was still beyond.
- Renix (10/5): In all we had a great time, would recommend and also do this trip again!!! - The environment was fantastic. The staff excellent. The resort does not cater for food directly but there were different restaurants dotted around the resort to pick and choose from. Walking distance to Local shop just outside the resort's gate for all other needs. The staff were so helpful and excellent WoW!!. The beach was great. The weather was not too cold nor too warm during the Christmas period, there was no need to have any jackets. The fact that the resort does not have kitchen of it's own.
- Carlynn (10/5): - Loved it there would definitely return.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Schnierer (8/5): Very good - Fantastic view and an amazing hotel . We loved our stay and will be back next year .
Herrlich
- Siddharth (9/5): Superb -
- Mustaquiem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joern (9/5): Recommendable Hotel/ suites - Nce location for a relaxed summer holiday All was good
- Jennifer (6/5): Pleasant - being charged extra 300 euros just in case we needed to spend it. Didn't want it but got the money back 10 days later.
- Rowland (10/5): - Beautiful, luxurious place to stay.
- Jelle (9/5): Great - The staff is so friendly and helpful!
Very clean It was off-season and many of the restaurants and bars were closed.
- Marie (4/5): Not worth your money! - The outdoor surroundings are nice - however you can access places like this in Algarve without staying at this resort.
The pool and baby pool outside our apartment are nice. Clean and functional kitchen. Unfortunately this was a very disappointing resort to go for a week of holiday. We chose it because it was supposed to be one of the best for families. However, we were not really enjoying the facilities for a number of reasons:
- Basic breakfast area in the basement.
- No indoor play area for small kids, in case of rain or very hot weather.
- The outdoor playground is not suitable for small kids, unless you submit them to the daycare service that has an enclosed space with some toys in it. We wanted to spend time with our kid, so we didn´t do that.
- During the whole week there was only one planned activity for small kids - a birdshow, which was advertised on a poster, but then canceled without warning.
- The towel hut nearby the pool area was closed during the whole week, even on sunny days.
- There is no kiosk/cafe/bar near the pool area, so you can´t have a drink while chilling in the sun.
- The restaurants in the resort are stupidly expensive for Portugal - and for the quality. Prices are the same as London or Oslo.
- All the restaurants open around 18:30 in the evening, so it´s a bit complicated to eat out if your kids go to bed around that time.
- Room service has a delivery cost of 12 euros to bring it to your room.
- You can get take away from the restaurants at the resort instead, but you cant get it delivered to your room, you have to go out and order it, wait for it and bring it home, even if its raining. Forget about he resort buggies/cars, they don´t ever come to pick you up.
- At checkout we called for a car/buggy to take our luggage to the hotel reception, as it is a bit of a walk. We called 3 times and waited 45 minutes. In the end one of us had to walk to the reception, check out, and wait for the Taxi to arrive and pick up the rest of the family and the luggage.
- Asna (9/5): Beautiful resort, with great facilities for families. - Apartment style room was great, fully equipped kitchenette and very clean and comfortable, which was very useful with a small baby. Had everything we needed, so was easy to make lunch and formula for the baby. It was light, bright and airy. They provided a cot and high-chair for the baby, and also there were black-out curtains in all the rooms. There was a bathtub in the bathroom, again very handy with a baby.
Resort is beautiful in a great location and we were able to walk around everywhere on site. I would definitely return here again. Some of the restaurants were closed due to being low season, which meant eating out for dinner was very limited to only two restaurants to choose from, and limited variety for vegetarians. It basically meant having to have pizza or pasta every night. There was also no dinner buffet, thankfully I brought food with me for the baby so wasn't too much of an issue.
Also, check-in at the Pine Ocean Suites took 35 mins as there was only one receptionist who was very slow, ignored us, and didn't bother to call for another colleague to help (the bell-boy had to do that as he was so embarrased at how long they were taking). Nor did Reception bother to sit us down and welcome us with a drink (as in other hotels) and explain there would be a slight wait. We had to instead stand in line, with an exhausted and tired baby after a long journey and delayed flight. Almost spoilt the whole arrival for us! Luckily, other staff members were great and very friendly, especially the staff member who helped with our luggage.
- James (10/5): Amazing as always - 7th time going, never fails to exceed all expectations, amazing place
- Christopher (10/5): Paradise - Location, everything is of the highest quality Food and drink prices are high as you would expect at a luxury resort however there are good local options
- Pit (9/5): Superb - Hotel Complex, the Gardens and the Views!!
Especially the great view from the Breakfast in the O'Pescador and from the Mare, the delicious Beachbar/Restaurant Still no Espresso from a Barista
- Manmeet (9/5): Awesome and relaxing stay - The cleanliness of the property, the staff was really helpful and the amenities They should have more restaurants open for dinner
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Beach and facilities there - fantastic. Spa - fantastic. Staff - fantastic. Room lovely. I really great place that i'd have no hesitation in recommending to friends
- Juliet (9/5): Fabulous - Great place for families with children
- Danielle (8/5): Overall would recommend and would return as a family due to the great facilities. - Pine cliffs is what you would expect for a 5 star establishment, the staff were very friendly, food and drinks were brilliant and everything readily available which was perfect for us travelling with our 5 month old baby. The apartment was well equipped and travel cot and high chair provided. Supermarket nearby and would recommend a short drive/Uber to the larger Aldi/Lidl in Albuferia as much more selection available. The real stand out for us was how brilliant the cleaners were - our apartment was always spotless after their visit. Shout out to Sandra at Portofino who made us feel very welcome.
The gym was well equipped. Pools were well maintained and lots of loungers available. We would have appreciated if one of the pools was heated (especially the kids pools) as was a little cold to take a small baby in but maybe this was that we visited later in the season. We were surprised that the club cars and golf buggies were still petrol powered and not electric vehicles. This was noticeable as there were club cars constantly around the resort which were loud and had fumes. In 2024, in a luxury resort we would have expected that these would have been transitioned to electric vehicles.
We expected the food to be expensive given the location but the drinks and food were extremely expensive €9 for iced coffee, €5 for can of coke etc and each bill also included a 10% suggested tip. Whilst tipping is fine for a meal with great service it was surprising that when walking to a bar to get an expensive drink you were still asked to tip. That said you have facilities to cook in the accommodation and can bring your own drinks to the pool etc.
- Aleksandr (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Weak Wi-Fi
- Thomas (9/5): Beautiful hotel, that served lovely food. Facilities were top class however I don’t like the cost of any additional add - The size of the room and how clean it was. The extras it cost to do a lot of things.
- Nolan (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (9/5): I would highly recommend the Pine Cliffs to anyone. It is a beautiful place in a beautiful location. - Great facilities and places to eat in a beautiful setting. The hotel manager was fantastic as well. The service levels are very high. Our initial apartment was not in a great location but the manager assisted us to move to a fantastic apartment.
- Dorota (1/5): Nightmare! - On July 26-29, I stayed with my family at the Pine Cliffs Garden hotel in Albufeira. The hotel advertises itself as luxurious, it has 5 stars, so I expected high quality. Unfortunately, despite paying for a room with a garden, I got a room with a terrace which was full of ants throughout my stay! Ants were crawling all over the floor, getting into our beds, food and suitcases. My daughters were afraid to be in this room. The matter was reported to the reception, and cleaning was carried out, but to no avail. After 2 hours, the ants were coming out from everywhere again. This is definitely not the standard and quality of a five-star hotel for which I paid a lot of money! I demand a refund of part of the costs!
In the photos, there are ants and also "my garden"...
- Bilalb (8/5): Comfy family hotel with breathtaking beach front - Impeccable hygiene and clean rooms with comfy beds. The nature & beach are just beautiful. Lots of pools and grass lounges and several restaurants to choose from. Great for a few days for families to just chill & relax. There are no walking paths outside the grass areas and most cars drive at fast speeds internally which doesn't make you feel safe to leave your kids alone. They need to install cameras or larger speed bumps. The gyms are too small and if you're the type that wakes up early to hit the gym, it's most likely overcrowded. The padel court is not free. The restaurants are good, but priced at "great'.

- Mikko (10/5): Luxurius vacation - The apartment was really good. Kitchen had good appliances and equipments. Bathroom was big and had good shower. Altough Gardens are close to the main gate it was easy walk to all the restaurants and beach. Restaurants were quite pricy but according to the room prices. Breakfast was excellent and other food also good. Chlidren play ground was the best I have seen in hotels. The indoor pool wasn’t so nice. It would be nice to have one heated outside pool.
- Katy (9/5): Excellent family holiday in a beautiful setting. Will definitely return! - Beautiful gardens, modern decor, clean and well equipped for families (garden suite apartment). Lots of options for pools, leisure, food. Staff all excellent. Restaurants are quite expensive.
