Guest Reviews
- Carina (8/5): - Daniele and Giulia were lovely, responsive and kind hosts. They did everything they could to make the stay a pleasant and wonderful one. The room is large, bed is comfortable, and everything was very clean when we arrived. Towels, shampoo and shower gel was provided. Although the apartment is in a busy area, the apartment is off a quiet street so you do not hear noise at night / during the day which was great. The shared kitchen was also great, there was a nespresso coffee pod for everyone every morning to make a coffee, and space for your room in the fridge to keep snacks, left over food, water, etc.
The wifi was really slow unfortunately and we could barely use it, and during the stay we had an issue with the water pressure in the shower which Daniele worked diligently to fix as quickly as possible. Other than these 2 items we had a lovely stay and would recommend the unit. The location cannot be beat, as soon as you get out of the building, there are tons of highly rated restaurants, bars, coffee spots, shops, gelateria's and even a little supermarket. Overall we had a good stay and would recommend Daniele and Guilia as hosts.
- Olivia (10/5): Great place - Lovely place, lovely host, incredible location.
- Julia (10/5): Great central spot! - This location was so close to EVERYTHING! We walk ever everywhere in Rome without issues. Daniele was so accommodating and helpful and we loved our stay. Thanks for everything!
- Laura (10/5): - We couldn’t have been happier with our choice of stay when visiting Rome. Banco 19 b&b is in such a gorgeous location surrounded by lovely shops and restaurants, and despite this we found it really peaceful at night and in the early mornings too which was great. So much thought has been put into the property by the hosts including a comprehensive folder of recommendations for food, drinks and ice cream, which we used multiple times! The rooms are so full of character and cosy but with ample space, and having the shared kitchen was really helpful for a quick coffee in the mornings or some lunch from a local shop when we didn’t eat out. Couldn’t recommend this place more if you’re staying in Rome, don’t think twice about booking!
- Tex (4/5): - Despite stating breakfast was included, on arrival we were informed no breakfast was provided. It was difficult to open the door into the accommodation. Our rooms were not serviced for 4 days. I would not recommend this place to stay.
- 815oddarnes (10/5): Trivelig og trygt - We were a couple who were there for a long weekend in May. The hosts were very nice, and we got good information from them. Clean and cozy room with private bathroom. Shared kitchen. We got good suggestions for places to eat from the host. Very central location in Rome. It felt very safe as the host also lives there. Recommended!
- Odd Arne (10/5): - We were a couple who were there for a long weekend in May. The hosts were very nice, and we got good information from them. Clean and cozy room with private bathroom. Shared kitchen. We got good suggestions for places to eat from the host. Very central location in Rome. It felt very safe as the host also lives there. Recommended!
- Josette (6/5): Mixed feelings - Back in January, when I booked this property, the ratings were very high. Since then there are a few that must have felt like me.
Let’s start with the negatives:
-why call the property a B&B if you do not offer breakfast?
- Why give this property 5 stars when they do not offer housekeeping during your stay? Fresh towels would have been welcome at the rate we paid.
- the chest of drawers smelled awful and it still had other visitors clothing.
- there was no water pressure and the not so hot water took ages to come through
- the room looked clean at first glance but then if you look closely you can see that it was a job done in a hurry.
- the rubber seal around the shower is perished.
We paid a lot of money to stay at this property but since it was rated exceptional we accepted the price, so you can imagine how we felt when we found out that it wasn’t as exceptional as described by others!
Now for the positives:
- YES the LOCATION is EXCEPTIONAL. It’s in the middle of all the places you would want to visit while in Rome.
- The use of the fridge was brilliant.
- Although I never met Danielle, he was always a text away if we needed him.
I feel very bad to leave this review but at the same time, it’s not fair to mislead people when they are trying to make a decision in booking for a holiday especially when it’s not cheap!
Having sad all this at the RIGHT price, I will book again this property. The wording in describing this property needs to be more accurate and realistic!
- Moritz (10/5): - A truly lovely B&B — beautifully designed, perfectly located, spotless, and the host was incredibly kind and attentive. Highly recommended!
- Marla (4/5): - very disappointed and dissatisfied with my stay. First off after booking, tried to reach out and contact the property multiple times via message and call as well as had to have expedia step in as well and they never received responses as well. After asking to cancel and getting upset, they finally responded immediately with a no about cancelling and were then very accommodating as it was now less than a week before our trip. They were quick to let us know about the money owed though for the tourist tax as we first arrived and let us know about that the day of and how it needed to be cash. This already ruined our trip.
It was a shared kitchen space that was not listed on the property details before booking and mentioned fresh sheets every 5 days, and fresh towels every 3 and not once were provided with either, checked on and no information about where to put garbage. No free bottled water like the listing says and the tv has no signal and didn’t work at all. The hosts lived in the apartment and again, not mentioned at all on the listing.
The street noise was awful with honking all night long and can hear everything and don’t think about flushing the toilet while anyone is sleeping since it’s incredibly loud and disruptive.
the location was the only good part but this “bed and breakfast” ruined our stay and is a scam. Do not stay here or give them your money, terrible, terrible, terrible.
- Dylan (10/5): Excellent !
- Gillian (10/5): Perfect location and great property - Unique property in the a great part of Rome lots of restaurants and bars and easy access to all the sights, we walked to most places.
Room was beautiful and owner was really helpful.
Access to fridge and kitchen was a bonus.
Noise from street due to central location but didn’t disturb us.
- David (6/5): - Nice property, but needs some love (coat of paint, couple more hooks and a deep clean)
- L5001BTvictoriac (2/5): Worst experience ever! - This has been the worst experience I have ever had. The pictures were extremely misleading and the entire apartment complex was sketchy. Upon arriving we noticed the strong smell of smoke that was trying to be covered up. The owner mentioned it was due to the smoke from the street but it was not as the street smelled better. The mattress was also very gross looking and felt unsanitary. Also this was advertised to be a fully individual unit however the owner lived in the other room and was shared. We had to immediately leave and find a last minute hotel elsewhere. Please save your trouble in booking here. I know there are a lot of good reviews which is why we decided to go with this place but truly should’ve listened to the bad ones
- brandonsT3266OC (2/5): Beware - This is the WORST, most misleading property I have ever seen. First, this is not a smoke free premises. The owner lives here and it’s very obvious that they are smoking in another room in the property. The room smelled like smoke that was being covered up by terrible air freshener. After trying to communicate with the owner on day 1 he did not respond and therefore we left without staying here even 1 night. The building is somewhat sketchy and the pictures are the most misleading I have ever seen. We ended up last minute booking a hotel $500 more total just to not stay here. Please Beware.
- David (10/5): - Very clean and functional. Left alone and no room service or breakfast that suited us just fine. The location was perfect for all the major area to visit and lots of eating options Daniele was a great host and would highly recommend it as a place to stay for 3 to 4 days. Thanks for hosting us.
- Ken (10/5): - Great location, very comfortable. Many restaurant options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Main tourist attractions within 15 to 30 minutes walking distance.
The hosts were very kind and responsive to our questions and requests. Sometimes the wifi did not work. Very minor issue as we had an Italian vodofone esim with plenty of data.
The unitis advertised as a bed and breakfast. However, no breakfast was offered. There was a beautiful kitchen, however the gas stovetop was off limits. Perhaps the Hosts could consider including vouchers for breakfast at a local cafe. Plenty in the area to
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Mycket fint boende mitt i Rom.
- JAEIN (2/5): - It was the worst stay I’ve ever had in my life.
1) I was told that I had to pay the city tax in cash which was 48Euros, and I gave the owner 50Euros in cash, and he said he only has 1Euro and said he will give me 1Euro back later but never got a chance to get it back
2) The water in the shower wasn’t draining out because of too much hair stuck, so I had to pull them out…eww :(
3) When I first arrived the owner said the room cleaning will be held in 2 days(I said for 4 nights), but he changed the words he said it’s not a hotel and the room can be cleaned every 3 nights. I understood the situation but I was given only 4 towels for 2 adults so I politely asked him to provide me more towels after 3 days, but he said he is sick so he can come very late at night to provide more towels(he actually came to drop off the towels after midnight)
4) The teapot was spoiled it was not cleaned at all. He said I could use the coffee machine, but there was no capsule for 2 days….haha(which he filled only 3 capsules for 2 rooms for 3 days…)
5) I lost my Dior bracelet while I was away for dinner, which I’m pretty sure I did not lose it anywhere else because I always took care of it. I heard he was in the other extra room the whole entire day.
6) We got up early at 6:30am to try using the coffee machine and put the living room light on, but when we got into the room to get our cup he already turned off the light. Why was that..? to reduce electricity?
Anyways, the worst stay ever!!!
- Lewis (10/5): - Beautiful room with a lovely huge window onto classic Roman street. Location was brilliant for exploring Rome, both the attractions and great places to eat all within walking distance. Very clean and nice to be able to use the shared kitchen (although no use of the hob). Daniele was very responsive, helpful and welcoming! Highly recommend.
- Chris (10/5): - We have thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Banco 19 B&B with Daniele and Giulia. Nestled on a cobbled backstreet in the heart of Rome, this lovely flat had all that we needed and gave us more of an authentic experience. Daniele was responsive with communication and Giulia provided some great recommendations for places to eat. It was really convenient to have access to a kitchen. The accommodation was minutes walk from lots of delicious local food sites and also great for the majority of the attractions as well. Thank you so much Daniele and Giulia, we hope to be back again!!!!
- Maria (10/5): - Location is excellent.
The people that runs it are great. I felt very safe in and around the area.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Rachel (10/5): - Wow! Could you find a better place in Rome? This is perfect in every way.
- Malcolm (10/5): - Great Location and friendly host
- 562SoniaG (10/5): Great place to explore Rome - Clean spacious rooms.
Location is on a quiet street with nice breakfast coffee spots and walking distance to main Rome sights .
Staff was waiting upon arrival, very orderly and easy to check-in and check-out.
- David_Jimenez_Casado (10/5): Great place to stay! - Fantastic place to stay in Rome! The staff is absolutely wonferful, as the beautiful room and great location. Very recommendable!!
Danielle was a great host, and helped us to find good places to eat around the place.
- _B2427FW (10/5): Home away from home - Wow... We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful apartment, located in the best neighborhood in town (walking distance from everything but far from truistic areas)! We felt at home from the first moment, everything was well thought and taken care of, the room, the details and the atmosphere. We could really feel how much Daniele (the amazing host) loves what he do, we enjoyed every moment at Banco19 and we will definitely come back in our next visit in Rome!
Highly recommend!!!
- brandieseye (10/5): Luxury in the details - What a treasure. Excellent location, beautiful quiet room with an incredible room-service breakfast prepared by welcoming and customer experience-centred owner, Daniele.
All the ammenities of a hotel, with all the care and attention to detail of a bed and breakfast. The always available coffee and fresh flowers are lovely touches. A true quality boutique experience. Not accessible to people with serious mobility issues; number of little steps to enter - there is a lift, but the bathroom in the room is up a large step.
- mjupost (10/5): Excellent B&B in the heart of Rome - Perfect location, very nice little B&B and fantastic service and hospitality. Thank you so much Daniele and Stella for making our stay af Banco 19 so good. You are excellent hosts and we will for sure be back next time we are in Rome. We will recommend your B&B to everyone going to Rome for holiday. Greetings from Lotte and Michael
- _W2618HE (10/5): Perfect - This place is wonderful. Daniele is such a great host, he helped us in everything
the rooms are even more beautiful than in the photos and the location is BEST
Daniele hope to see you next year..
thanks a lot
- 498mandif (10/5): Bella Banco - Daniele is the host with the most-welcoming, helpful and he makes the bestest breakfast. It was lovely to have our breakfast in our room. The room was exceptionally clean and quirky! Such a central place to stay for a trip to Rome.
We will be back!
- 968fran (10/5): Very nice stay - We had a very pleasant stay a Banco 19. Room was nicely decorated a clean. Breakfast was good and Daniele was always prepared to help with anything that was needed. Good tips for restaurants. Location is perfect.
- divakeys (10/5): Loved it - Great location (hang a left out of the building and walk 5 minutes to Piazza Navona) super modern bathroom with a great shower, ambient lighting in tall ceilings makes for a pleasant experience. Well heated (I mention this because it's not always the case in Italy), very comfortable bed. Most important of all to me no matter where I stay is that it's clean, which this is-immaculate, in fact. Communication with owner very good and helpful. Daniele was able to accommodate an early arrival which we very much appreciated. Actual building is cool, too, with beautiful doors. Mostly quiet. WiFi good. Great restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
- wjtvdb (10/5): Excellent stay and location! - Very nice room, clean and spacious in an excellent location. This could not be better, close to the river and campo de fiori. The breakfast is great and the owner a really nice guy always ready to arrange things if needed.
- shineymittal (10/5): A lovely apartment at a great location in Rome - The apartment was well equipped with all the amenities. The kitchenette/Living Room was super cute. The room was huge! Loved the lightning in the room. Very comfortable stay.Breakfast was tasty with a lot of options. Danielle was very punctual. He even helped us with the luggage. Our pick up from the airport was delayed a bit but Danielle still waited for us to show us the place around.
The location is convenient. Being very close to the Vatican city and the Castel Saint Angelo. Also great restaurants nearby.
Since it's an apartment and not a hotel, there are some downsides like many doors before you enter the room. Also if the other room is being cleaned up in the morning, it disturbs the sleep because of noises.
Other than that, everything went well :)
- lucianoMG (10/5): Very nice B&B - Excellent location in a quiet street. Gives you the feeling of living in Rome . Very Friendly and helpfull host Daniele , who's serving an excellent breakfast. Always caring for his guests and giving many tips for eating out in the neighbourhoud. Vatican city, Piazza Navona, Collosseum and many more points of interest are within walking distance !
- cindooboo (10/5): In the heart of Roma - Had such a great stay at Banco B&B! The B&B is in a central location off of Via dei Coronari, close to Castel Sant’Angelo and Piazza Navona. It is also a short 15min walk from Piazza Cavour where the airport shuttle drops and picks up. It was nice to come back to the B&B after a long day of sightseeing. The room is so spacious with high ceilings and fresh flowers. Daniele is an awesome host and brings breakfast to you in the morning at your designated time. The room is cleaned daily and even though it is not located on a busy street they also provide ear plugs. Love this place. Will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Rome.
- G3520EQpeterh (10/5): The Best Place to Stay in Roma - This is by far the best and most comfortable place we have stayed in, the service is unbelievable, nothing is too hard for Danielle, he goes out of his way to ensure you have the most enjoyable time in his B&B. The breakfast is great, fresh produce and on time everyday, the room is cleaned daily and it is fantastic. It is located within easy walking of all the major places in Roma including the Vatican City. We will be going back and have recommended it to all our friends and family.
- MRater (10/5): Good experience - We had an enjoyable stay at Banco 19 B&B. The room was excellent: spotless and spacious. The owner was amiable and flexible. The breakfast was tasty. The location of Banco 19 B&B is very central. In an 11 KM walk, you can see different hot spots, such as Pantheon, Vatican City, Colosseum, etc. It's better to book directly through their website than through booking.com.
