• Christina (10/5): - Lonely Beach, Koh Chang is an interesting part of the island. If you are looking for budget accommodations and a safe and comfortable place to stay check out Carpe Diem. If you like to party, even better as around the corner it is party central - that means there will be noise. Luckily the room comes equipped with ear plugs. 3 prong plugs so easy to charge stuff up. I did like the lock up boxes in the room. Decent wifi. The pool is nice for a quick dip, it has sun shades. The bed was comfortable. We didn't need the A/C but we did use the fan. I like the added touch of the elephant artwork on the walls. The bathrooms is like a retro throw back - very random tile work. Aussie touch - check out the nail hammering table. If you are looking for high end, charming this isn't for you. Cheap and cheerful. Decent coffee. Complimentary filtered water. There's kinda of a kitchen area with a fridge - a bit random. But I'm sure you can figure it out. The palm trees on one side of the pool are nice.

• Laland (7/5): Good - Great hosts, very friendly. Great bbq food. Cute dog. It is right next to a nightclub that plays thumping music till 6.30am, sometimes later. However, they do provide earplugs. Overall, a decent play to stay and their dog Mee is cute.

• Michael (1/5): Bad - The rooms are old, not clean, there are no windows in the room, it smells moldy after you take a shower. An absolute disgrace for over 40€ a night. We complained to the owner to no reaction. The absolute worst part ist the noise. The rooms are directly next to a nightclub that blasts extremly loud music until 5am in the morning. Its virtually impossible to sleep. And i really have to repeat myself. I have lived in big noisy cities. But in this rooms its like trying to sleep in a nightclub that blasts extreme loud music. Its impossible. The owners reaction after we confronted him with it: i put ear-plugs in the rooms! If you want to sleep during your vacation, dont book rooms here. M

The pool is lovely after a full day of touring. You can walk everywhere you’d need to go (bars, shopping, restaurants). That area is the most chill, and has everything you’d need.
• Tracy (10/5): I have already booked my next stay. - the owners, Aemsera and Peter, and their crazy dog, Mr Mee, make your visit here. You quickly became a part of their village, with their help and Mr Mee deciding he will accompany you on your walk or meal. fabulous pool, and lots of great restaurants. Not a big thing, one soi over is the nightclub hub on the island, but it doesn’t keep you awake.

• Ione (9/5): Easy place to stay :) - The host was lovely, he hadn't seen me one of the days and knocked to make sure I was okay. I'm sure if I needed anything he would have been happy to help :). The bed was comfy, shower was great, nice little patio area to read. Bathroom and bedroom are both big, with plenty of storage. No problems with mosquitos. Lots of choices for restaurants within 15 mins and little corner shops selling snacks, drinks etc The surrounding area isn't the nicest, one path over is where the party area is and it's got a lot of broken, abandoned buildings and rubbish everywhere. Still felt safe and everything but worth mentioning. The closest access to water is rocky and quite choppy, but 15 mins walk down the main road and you get to a sandy beach. There is loud music until at least 4am but it's a background base noise rather than being able to hear every word to the songs, earplugs do a good job.

Pete and his good lady are kind, considerate and go out of their way to make sure you are catered for. A personal touch goes a long way. Rooms are clean and well ventilated, pool is clean and cold. Fridges are always stocked and everything behind the bar is well priced. Finished my trip on koh chang here and it was awesome. Would stay again happily No negative feedback, just an observation, some people clearly aren’t ready to “travel” complaining about wildlife like the little chit chats , frogs ect. It’s a jungle island , of course it has wildlife. This is not a negative connotation on the location you choose to stay at 🤷🏼‍♂️. The patience the owners show with some “traveler’s” is inspiring. All the best guys 🇹🇭

If you are looking for tranquility and peaceful nights, it might not be the place to be as bars have music very loud all night. Guesthouse however provides earplugs if you re not a party animal

Any information I need Peter was at hand, had some great chats with him and he has a great sense of humor. one night I was invited to join in with their evening meal which was a BBQ, very fresh and tasty. comfortable bed, hot water what ever time of the day, nice pool area, great location to the clubs and bars. nothing, perfect place in the party location

• olehemingborgenk (10/5): Amazing cozy place - Carpe Diem is an amazing cozy place with the super friendly host Peter and his wife. Rooms are clean and tidy. There is a really nice seating area between the rooms and the swimming pool where you can hang out with fellow travelers over a beer or some good. Location is really nice in the center of the village Lonely Beach. Short distance to everything. I really recommend people to try this place out!!

• tboxcar (8/5): Friendly, quiet, and good value - We just returned from a pleasant stay on the island of Koh Chang, where we stayed 3 nights at the Carpe Diem guest house in Lonely Beach. Let me start by saying in these Covid times things are quiet everywhere, but I have researched Koh Chang first and and this guest house appeared on my FB feed. The owner Peter and his wife have spent alot of time and money to build a small, simple, clean and friendly guest house in the center of Lonely Beach. Rooms well kept, simple, clean, and just fantastic. Pool at my front door. Peter the owner and keeper of the guest house, always has a cold beer or drink available if needed. My girlfriend and I felt very at home staying here and would not hesitate to stay again. Walking distance to everywhere, and he even had a small covered parking spot for my new motorbike. If you are looking for budget accommodation friendly and safe service, you don't need to look further.

The rooms are clean and very well equipped for the price - very comfy bed, good quality shower, air-con, wall fan and hairdryer. They also let us borrow a fridge for our stay. There is a nice pool, with sun shield above and plenty of chairs and tables around their lovely garden area. There is also a bar with sports TV and a pool table. Peter and Aemsira are great hosts - helpful, fun and genuine people and we really enjoyed our 1 week stay them and their 5 Star dog, Mee. The rooms are pretty new, clean and very well equipped for the price - very comfy bed, good quality modern shower, air-con, wall fan and hairdryer. They also let us borrow a fridge for our stay. There is a nice pool, with sun shield above and plenty of chairs and tables around their lovely garden area. There is also a bar with sports TV and a pool table. Peter and Aemsira are great hosts - helpful, fun and genuine people. They even put on a leaving party for us the night before we left with a free BBQ for all the guests, and the next day Peter kindly took us and all our luggage in his car - was really kind of him.
• rattyp (8/5): Retreat get away - I have to admit that this holiday retreat from work has been a great relaxing journey, I was booked in Carpe Diem Guests House by a friend of friends recommendation for 1 night as it's was getting late and I'm in the middle of the famous "Lonely Beach" was expecting to check out the next day so I paid for my one night stay, but once I walked in to the accommodation area with swimming pool in the middle and the room was newly furnished I was more than satisfied the room has a flat screen TV with satellite box, large double bed, hot water and safety deposit box within your room once you open your door it's just half of a step away from the swimming pool there's a table and chairs in front of every room for you to chill in front of your room so once I really settle in my room I came to chill by the pool and I saw that the gardens is very well look after very tidy very neat so I was curious of the gardener only the owner could have taken care of the garden tbis well, so I was happy of the place the next day I met "Peter" at the check out time, he knocked on the door and asked are you gonna stay another night, I said yes "I would like to extend one more day" in the end I stayed for another 4 nights, I get to have good conversations with Peter he's been looking after merrily nearly everything there a cool guy indeed... if you're in Koh Chang in Lonely Beach looking for accommodation I would definitely recommend this place "Carpe Diem" during this time it's quiet no pumping music from Ting Tong bar and it's close to all the convenience store, bar and restaurant, only a few steps to the beach as well... I myself will be going back there sometime soon. Well done Peter.
• Loveslands123 (10/5): Christmas vacation. - Had a lovely stay. Our room was as advertised. Freshly painted, clean and neat. Comfortable bed and pillows. The room gets cleaned when you ask for it at no extra charge. The pool was clean and well looked after. Premises is clean and neat. Had endless games playing pool and darts. There is a Thai restaurant across the road with great food, we have been to a few around the island but kept on coming back and saying we should have had all our meals right there! Cashew chicken was around 80 baht, Somtum 60 baht. Good value for money. Breakfast can be ordered at Carpe Diem. Breakfast was good. The vibe is friendly and relaxed. We rented scooters from a friend of Peter's wife for 200 baht a day and you get it will a full tank of gas which you fill up before taking it back. The scooters was brought to us. There is a hair salon just up the road. Lonely beach is a 3 minute drive from Carpe Diem. The shops and restaurants in the main road is a 2 minute walk away. We also drove all over exploring beaches and restaurants. The only thing that bothered us was the music at night from neighbouring bars and clubs but this is no secret. I recommend Carpe Diem - good value for money.

• Martin_Widmer (10/5): No unpleasant surprises. Great :) - This is an honest place near the sea shore and lonely beach. We booked here because of 1.) the pool and 2.) the closeness to lively places my husband likes. And the place delivered the promised properties along with a very good fast WIFI for my Netflix. This is one of the few places where the photos match the reality and the description is honest and accurate. Obviously the owners do not let the place decompose or run down like many other places operate. For a very reasonable price we got one of the 10 quite spacious rooms. Each room as a little space to sit outside nearby the clean and well maintained and sun shaded pool (POOL YES!!!). Things in the room work properly and are not worn out, there are only 3 drawbacks from the average European point of view: no fridge, the bed is unbearably hard and there is no real bed sheet so it is hard to adjust sleeping temperature with the A/C on, something a person like me needs to get any sleep at all. Against the nearby super noisy bars (boom boom all night) you get free earplugs so that you can sleep like a baby. I think this place is very clean, tidy, well maintained and definitely worth the bucks. We wish good luck to the owner couple for the future.
• jaynek314 (10/5): Friendly and Clean - I would recommend staying here, if you don't mind a bit of noise at night. With the fan or aircon on you can't here the noise from the bars behind the accommodation. Peter and his wife go out of there way to help and are extremely friendly. The pool is an added bonus kept really clean. The rooms are large and clean. In a very good spot for everything in lonely beach. I could only find a couple of English channels on the T.V, but then again who goes on holiday to watch it. There is a bar and restaurant and they also do your laundry for 40 baht a kilo.

The Oz owner Peter and his wife are really lovely people. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they really know how to make you feel very welcome indeed. This resort is only few minutes walk to the beach and surrounded by great restaurants and relaxing bars. Its really is so cheap for what you get and a lot better than other expensive places nearby! The great relaxing pool is just what I needed for my early morning and late afternoon swims while my partner enjoyed her freshly prepared cocktail :) I would 100% book this resort next time im in Koh Chang, there really is nothing better for the money!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Schönes Guesthouse. Lage ungünstig für Nachtruhe. - Sehr schönes Guesthouse. Zimmer neuwertig und sauber. Gesamtanlage mit Pool und überdachtem Aufenthaltsbereich bei der Rezeption ebenfalls sehr gepflegt und sauber. Tolle Gastgeber, die Tipps für Aktivitäten, Ausflüge und für abendliche (Spiele-)Unterhaltung haben. Alles total entspannt. Gute Lage einige Meter abseits der Hauptstraße. Tagsüber sehr ruhig. Einziges Manko: in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft befindet sich die „Himmel-Bar“. Von 11pm bis 5am (manchmal 6am) ist für Extremstbeschallung gesorgt, die es problemlos mit jeder Parade z.B. eines CSD aufnehmen kann. Wir wussten leider nicht, dass Lonely Beach die Partymeile auf Ko Chang ist. Sind wir vielleicht selbst schuld daran. Jedenfalls sind wir nach 3 schlaflosen Nächten vorzeitig abgereist, trotz weiteren gebuchten und bezahlten Nächten. Deshalb auch so ausführlich und nochmal als Wiederholung: Für Partylöwen und Besucher, die nachts eh‘ nicht schlafen wollen, ist das Carpe Diem absolut perfekt. Volle Punktzahl. Für uns war es zu laut, was NICHT am Carpe Diem liegt, sondern eher allgemein an Lonely Beach. Gästen, die eher tagsüber aktiv sein und nachts schlafen wollen, möchten wir empfehlen, auf Ko Chang einen anderen Ort als Lonely Beach auszuwählen.
• 758kristyn (10/5): Lovely stay - We loved our stay at Carpe Diem - the owners Pete and Aemsira were so friendly and attentive. The location was perfect for us, a 2 minute walk from Lonely Beach and only 1 minute from the bars and restaurants. The bar and pool area is clean and spacious and always had a nice atmosphere. We will definitely return!

• casimirh (10/5): Great place with awesome owner! - "You would like to play a game of pool, my friend?" is what the owner Peter asked me when I was walking passed looking for a place to stay. His place has all the comforts you need, but for me the most important thing is the friendliness of the people and thats why this place is absolutely rocking. Have fun!
