Guest Reviews
- Ferry (10/5): Schitterende locatie maar erg duur dorp - Lekker rustig Niet kunnen betalen via Booking maar aparte link wat onbetrouwbaar leek maar in orde bleek
- Jacqueline (10/5): -
- Kim (10/5): - Really lovely place to stay. The Lodge stands within gated gardens in a picture postcard village which makes for a secluded and peaceful location. Very comfortable room with excellent breakfast and lovely owners. Would definitely stay here again.
- Imogen (8/5): Good. - Clean, good facilities and great location. Messages came both by text and email rather than in person.
- Cary-Ann (9/5): A Great Stay as always. - Lovely Setting N/A
- Vanessa (10/5): - Very comfortable and spotless
- Michael (10/5): Perfect host perfectin every way -
- stephen (10/5): Just superb! - So comfortable, lovely gallery! Nothing
- Gartshore (10/5): Lovely clean, comfortable, secure and friendly place to stay. - Simple check in - all info received before we arrived.
Lovely rooms - large with seating for two.
Comfortable bed and good shower.
Lovely gardens.
Great breakfast delivered exactly as ordered.
- Martin (9/5): - Lovely room and supremely comfortable bed. I slept like a log. Lots of texts regarding access and breakfast. However we'll know what to expect next time.
- Simon (8/5): - Quiet and relaxing Soft mattress
- Vanessa (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable in a lovely location
- Mark (8/5): -
- John (10/5): Grey stay at Hemingford Grey - Excellent location, quality of accommodation, breakfast and security. Nothing, we were delighted with all aspects of our stay.
- Mark (10/5): - Very comfortable, wonderful continental breakfast brought to the room in the morning
- Mark (9/5): First choice stay for this area. Will book again. - Continental breakfast delivered to the room.
- Duncan (9/5): Lovely gardens and secure access much appreciated. Very comfortable rooms and en suites. - One small marmalade jar between two was little inadequate. Strawberry jam was not wanted . Coffee and orange juice excellent. Would a guest choices breakfast menu be worth considering- or just too much trouble?? Showers were great! Ideally a communal sitting area would have been good. Lots to like.
- Tom (10/5): -
- Emma (10/5): Great place in a beautiful location. - Peaceful and quiet
- Keith (9/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): - Lovely rooms. Everything about it was excellent 👌 All good!
- Christopher (8/5): - Location was cute Finding parking was a little odd but only because we were the only guests so couldn't be sure
- Fiona (10/5): Beautiful surroundings. Clean comfortable room with spacious well equipped bathroom - Beautiful location.
The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious
Breakfast in the morning served a good selection Nothing negative
- Simon (5/5): A good venue if you're only staying overnight and want a bolthole without the niceties of a h - Nice breakfast but a bit more variety over our 4-day stay would have been pleasant. Parking was great. Very peaceful location. Had we not bumped into one of the team, there would have been no welcome as such. There is no bar, lounge or such so all you're getting is literally bed and breakfast. The rooms don't get serviced which we found surprising. We do like fresh towels and sheets when we're away, although we understand the environmental ramifications.
- Shane (10/5): -
- Isobel (10/5): - The owner was lovely and clearly cared deeply about the experience for his guests. We highly recommend!
- Fiona (7/5): Lovely for a stay in Hemmingford. - It is well located, very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was a bit too soft for us and breakfast is quite basic (toast and cereal with some fruit severed on a tray to your room)
- jenny (9/5): - Quiet
Good breakfast
Well equipped and furnished
- Dominic (10/5): A very pleasant stay in a lovely setting. Hosts were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. - Very welcoming and comfortable.
- paul (9/5): Beautiful property in a charming location. - Another lovely stay. Comfortable, quite and spotlessly clean. Great breakfast and friendly, efficient staff. Ideal location and perfect for a few days break.
- Yick (10/5): -
- Alex (9/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Kim-Inger (7/5): One night at Hemmingford Grey - Lovely village - nice setting We are boomers and not accustomed to contactless accommodation so It was a new experience for us. I do prefer human contact.
Communication is via WA and it was fine but the one opportunity they had for human contact - the person who brought our breakfast tray did not even say good morning. I would say for younger people and people on business who arrive at odd hours it's perfect. Also great if you're attending a wedding or similar in the area, a group of friends can stay together and it would be fun
- David (9/5): Splendid, modern B & B accommodation in perfect condition. - Breakfast was adequate and brought to our room. There were no cooked options but what we had was enjoyable (Selection of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, toast, coffee (bags to brew our own).) Though I don't eat cooked breakfasts at home, it's a special pleasure to have one when I'm away. A bit disappointed not to have that.
- Sasha (10/5): - Room was spacious and high quality The bed was a little soft
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely location, excellent facilities - Location was great, very peaceful in a lovely part of the village. The Cock pub nearby is excellent for food.
- Margaret (10/5): Beautiful rooms in a very peaceful location - Excellent accommodation in a quiet location. The Lodge is situated in lovely private grounds with electronic gates in Hemingford Grey. We stayed in the Oak room and loved the size of the room and the lovely bathroom. The room was very stylish from the oak flooring to the furniture and the bathroom.
A good breakfast (cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, toast etc) was delivered on a tray to our room at a time to suit you.
Although check in is 4pm, I asked if check in could be earlier as we were attending an afternoon garden party in the area. Maria was very obliging and kindly messaged that morning advising that our room was ready and that we could check in at lunchtime.
All in all we had a great overnight stay and wished we were staying longer to appreciate more of this peaceful and pretty village. Definitely would stay there again.
- John (10/5): -
- Martin (10/5): One of the best B&Bs we have used in the UK - Modern and exceptionally well decorated double room. Set in parkland of the big house with secure parking. Continental breakfast supplied to the room in the morning. Nothing
- Koos (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): - The rooms and breakfast were first class. The location was also perfect
- Valerie G. (10/5): - Hosts were very accommodating and the location was perfect to visit family and friends . A walk to the village shop while having the river so close were ideal. We hope to make it back soon.
- Nick (9/5): A perfect location for exploring the area. Very comfortable and tranquil accommodation. - A comfortable and cosy place to stay, in a peaceful location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing.
- Roy Lunn (10/5): -
- Stanley (9/5): Lovely one nite stay, would definitely revisit in a very good location for us when visiting our friend in Hemingford - Everything
Very comfortable bed
Room smelt amazing when entered it
Loved the window seat and armchair
Bathroom very unusual…. Beautiful
Safe secure parking Breakfast was very nice , but would of preferred a cooked breakfast
Room was very warm thermostat was fixed at 25, couldn’t turn down
- Jimmy (10/5): - Quiet, peaceful location. Room furnished to a high standard. Excellent continental-style breakfast room service -- top quality. Will stay again. The armchair wasn't very comfortable.
- Gianlu (4/5): -
- Jaime Paniagua (10/5): Gorgeous room, amazing location, for a quiet gataway. - Amazing small "boutique" style little motel/stay. Absolutely gorgeous grounds, immaculate room, gorgeous breakfast included in our stay, SO QUIET, and amazing HOSTS! Located in a very small English village, but close to everything, including Cambridge. Would love to stay there again for an amazing getaway! Not that we didn't like anything, just love having a refrigerator in the room.
- Diana (10/5): Quiet, clean, efficient, picturesque. Great property - Breakfast good, efficient. Management not physically present on arrival but exceptionally efficient, reached out and contacted us. All directions were accurate and effective. Clean, comfortable and well-decorated room, great setting. Something sounding like a mechanical dog started barking at 0400. Continued at either 3.8 second intervals or 5 second intervals (which made me think it was not an actual animal but some kind of scarer) for nearly half an hour.
- Ruth (10/5): Fantastic - The whole experience was exceptional. Welcoming, comfortable, clean and secure. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends Nothing
- Jonathan (10/5): - The location is tranquil and set in beautiful surroundings.
- John (10/5): The Lodge is ideal for business or leisure - comfort and style with peace and nature - Beautiful surroundings, opulent room with comfortable bed and amazing shower. Access to outdoor space, which it nice to sit & enjoy a coffee or read rather being stuck in room - There’s nothing not to like!
- Sue (10/5): Three lovely relaxing nights at The Lodge - We always look forward to staying at The Lodge as we feel so at home there.
It has a peaceful & tranquil atmosphere which is what we need after a long drive to visit family in the area.
Maria is always very welcoming & on hand to assist if the occasion arises & the breakfast on a tray delivered to your room is much healthier than most places serve.
We have stayed several times now & will not hesitate to stay again in the future. Nothing
- Sean (8/5): Lovely room and location - Location, room
Maybe didn't read small print, no cooked breakfast
- Edward (8/5): Lovely and relaxing - Beautiful setting and wonderful breakfast brought to your room. The mattress was a bit bouncy and could do with being pocket sprung?
- Ruth (10/5): Perfect room and location - Great location. Very easy check in. Exceptional room set in lovely grounds. Great quality tea/coffee on the hostess tray and a pleasant breakfast. Nothing
- Dave (10/5): Great location - Great Nothing
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (8/5): Very tasteful and beautifully presented, free parking, close to everything, Maria was great! - Location was perfect as we wanted to see the Hemingford Grey Manor as we are big fans of the Green Knowe books by Lucy Boston (that tour by Dianna was brilliant!). Maria was so helpful and friendly, the rooms were spotless and the shower pressure the best we've seen! Great to have free parking included and everything is presented beautifully.
- John (10/5): Just loved this B&B, it was a real gem. - Dry secure and of a very high standard. Location in a lovely village and excellent value.
Breakfast was excellent, and healthy.
- Juliet (8/5): - Beautiful setting in a very peacegul location.
My 3rd stay here when working away.
Rooms large and beautifully furnished and very comfy beds.
Would highly recommend
- Karen (10/5): Lovely place to stay, great location and host -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location for St Ives area - We stayed in the Holly room, which was spacious and nicely decorated. It had a view over a semi-enclosed courtyard, which is a shame considering the Lodge’s location.
Continental breakfast was good quality and brought in the room. It would have been good to have a table and additional chair (there were 2 of us) to eat it on.
Guests have got access to the garden, which is well maintained.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Elaine (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): A wonderful place to stay, would return for sure - Beautifuly set out property, really nice rooms, in a lovely area with lots of thatched properties Nothing
- Dylan (8/5): Would definitely stay again - Perfect location. Very peaceful and pretty. Lovely room and very clean.
- Lester (10/5): A gem near Cambridge - Hemingford Grey House is perfectly located to explore Cambridge using the St Ives Park & Ride. The Lodge is set in beautiful grounds and our room was meticulously cared for. Maria quickly responded to any questions. Our room was spacious, had a very comfortable bed and the shower was great. Breakfast was great value for money.
- Janice (10/5): Just perfect - Quiet location. Beautiful setting
Very relaxing and comfortable
- Joanne (9/5): Superb - Lovely breakfast tray delivered to your room and really lovely people.
- Lesley (9/5): Lovely arty place to stay -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Roy (9/5): Superb - Lovely village location, peaceful, enjoyed the food at the local pub about 100metres away.
Very nice continental breakfast at the property
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (9/5): Well presented property in a beautiful village - Very nicely furnished. We were in ‘Yew’. The noise from the next door ‘Oak’ shower was very noticeable and located right by the bed head. Unfortunately on both nights Oak occupants enjoyed an early shower, so we were awake early too! 😂
- Christopher (10/5): Had a great stay - Everything Nothing
- Tom (9/5): Superb - Cozy room.
Bed comfortable and shower was of good quality
- Natasha (10/5): Peaceful stay in a comfortable, beautifully decorated room with everything you could need. - This is a lovely, cosy, comfortable hotel. It's peaceful and the rooms are beautiful. - Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alastair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (8/5): Beautiful place but very quiet. No option to meet with others to eat - Beautiful rooms and location Eating alone with no option to join friends
- Robert (9/5): Perfect for our stay in the area - the location was perfect for our stay, it would only have been better if we had been staying longer cant think of anything
- Caroline (10/5): A spacious, warm, spotless room with a fab breakfast. - The Lodge is a great place to stay. My room was spacious, warm, clean and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were fab. The breakfast was delicious. I was so glad I booked the Lodge and will stay again. Maria was welcoming, kind, and very helpful. I would highly recommend staying at the Lodge. Everything was good.
- Green (9/5): Superb -
- Granville (9/5): Convenient for the Burgess Hall and very well maintained. Friendly owners. - The location was nicely tucked away from any main roads. The room and facilities were wonderful. Especially liked the expansive shower. Would have loved a cooked breakfast - not clear in the booking that it was a continental type. The food was lovely but not the same!

We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the area. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast so are unable to give feedback on what was on offer.
