Nathan (10/5): Fantastic experience, wonderful owners, great value for money. - The owners ran the front desk during our stay and they are such wonderful people. Friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The cabin we stayed in was comfortable and easily accommodated my partner and I. There's free parking and the cabins are easy driving distance to all the local attractions. We had a wonderful time. Nothing bad to say. Everything was spot on!
james (8/5): A comfortable stay - extremely clean room, nice continental breakfast, fast wifi, good heat, helpful staff. The room I had was very small, but they have many types of rooms. The walls were thin. But the room was quiet despite nearby highways. Rate was high, but lower than most rates in the Mt. Rushmore region.

Melissa (9/5): - Everyone we came in contact with were so nice! Location was central to what we wanted to do, albeit a little remote. Cute room that was clean. Super cute grounds that look like a blast in the summer. We were there early spring and it was still snowing so we didn't get the opportunity to utilize outdoor facilities. Beds were ok, but noisy mattresses. Room temp was a little tricky to manage, but I like a cooler room for sleeping and couldn't seem to hit my ideal temp.

Maxine (7/5): Pretty good. - The room was clean. Comfortable enough and the price was very good. Ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night. (Check and there was not an extra roll anywhere). Went to front office to ask for another roll around 8:30 am and she said housekeeping would bring one to us. We checked out arou d 10:30 without ever getting it.

Continental breakfast and within 15 minutes of Mount Rushmore. Expected individual log cabin. Received part of a connected hotel room, but the inside reminded one of the inside of a cabin. Overall it was a great place to stay, and we had to check in late and the staff was very accommodating for our late (1030pm ish) arrival. Expected individual log cabin. Wasn't expecting a motel 6 type of connected side by side rooms. However, overall it was very nice. But if someone is expecting a single log (or otherwise) cabin. Then please be aware. For a place to stay for a night this is a great place. Also note that our GPS did not recognize or pull up Rockerville, SD

Jennifer (8/5): Nice stay and close to local attractions - The room was clean, and housekeeping provided what we needed. The bed was comfortable. We liked the breakfast nook and the ability to cook our own meals in the kitchen. The full size fridge was essential. The firepit and picnic areas were nice for those moments when we weren't going to attractions. It would have been helpful to have a small dresser/wardrobe for our clothing. There is a small area to hang clothes, but we had many other items that had to sit on the sofa because there wasn't much furniture. Also, a light installed near the kitchen sink would be really nice.

Nancy (9/5): I will definitely be back again - This is a wonderful place to stay. The room was very clean . It was a very good value compared to others in the area. And staff were very courteous and helpful. That makes all the difference to me when the staff actually make you feel like they are glad you are there . Also if you show your room key to the resturant across the street , you get 10% off your meal. Couldn't get the TV to work in rm #13 but I didn't have much time to watch TV anyway. They have Dish Network and I'm not familiar with that set up so maybe I just wasn't doing something right or maybe no signal at the time . Didn't bother me enough to lower my rating of the facility

Theresa (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and a great choice. - Our cabin was spacious, well-appointed, and clean. There was good lighting and lots of windows. Parking was close by. The ladder to the upper bunk was metal and hard on bare feet.
Cassie (9/5): Wonderful staff, clean rooms and great location. - We stayed 4 nights and took advantage of the kitchen in the room. It was also a great price and a central location to visit Mt. Rushmore and the surrounding attractions. The room needed a table and chairs. The lodge (breakfast) was across the highway and I little difficult to cross.
Aubin (7/5): Met my expectations - Nice spot - good location for accessing the Black Hills. If you are wondering if you can visit Custer State Park, Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore in one day - yes!! This even included a few short hikes. Room was clean and comfortable. Owners were super helpful and even made copies of a few pages of a local hiking guide for me. Thought breakfast could have been beefed up a bit to include items that have some protein. Fruit, cereal and toast aren't enough of a breakfast if you are headed out hiking or exploring. Glad I had some almonds that I could have for a snack before I started my hike.

Randy (4/5): Over priced for what you get - The room was clean, the walls were painted, water pressure was great and there was much potential The wi-fi was out the whole 4 days, the staff was indifferent, pillows needed to be changed out years ago and the mattresses needed changing. The swamp cooler auto setting was not working. TV sound was very muddy. We had a kitchen with no real coffee cups or glassware, for the price paid it should have had that. Photos showed cabins but you are in the motel across the street which you can't walk to from the lodge. You must drive a mile to get there. Only one restaurant nearby.

It was our first stop on our 2 week road trip... wish we would have stayed more than one night once we got there but we were on our way to glacier and had reservations there. When and if I come back to the area I will stay there again because the property and the value were Amazing

Steven (10/5): Perfect Get Away! - We arrived early, had lunch at the Gaslight before checking in a bit early. Hostess was very pleasant and allowed us room access and invited us to the community areas in the lodge. Perfect laid back atmosphere. Very welcoming even out of season! It met our needs all around. The late arrivals could be heard unloading and accessing cabins. No worries, but we needed early to bed and early wakeup for plane departure in Rapid City. The location was a decent drive in dark with the help of Maps/GPS.

JEFFREY (9/5): Appreciated a reasonably priced and convenient location to stay at after driving all day. - Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and gave us enough space. Used the 10% discount at the Gas Light Saloon right across the street. That was a nice perk! Had trouble finding our room at first as it was already dark out and we were unfamiliar with the cabins. The map was useful, but it would have been easier to use if it was more light out. Perhaps some cabin numbers that reflect their numbers for cars coming off the road towards the cabins would be helpful since these doors and unlit numbers were on the back side of the cabins.

Angela (8/5): Great location for visiting Mount Rushmore/Crazy Horse Memorial. - The rooms were slightly cramped but comfortable with a fridge, two double beds and a microwave. Shower was warm and strong, temperature control also. There is a nice restaurant across the street for diner. Simple breakfast included. It's located between two highway lanes, so a perfect base location but nothing to do nearby in walkable distance.

Fabien (7/5): - The cabin was rustic and the exterior was pleasant. Ideal for an overnight stopover. The receptionist was cold and unsmiling at first. The breakfast wasn't very generous. The cabin's kitchen wasn't well equipped. And the cutlery drawer wasn't very clean.

heather (8/5): - The front office/recreation area was clean and had a decent amount of seating. The breakfast is simple such as cereal, oatmeal, English muffins. The front desk staff were nice. The property doesn’t explain that the part of the lodge is across the highway and not within walking distance of the office and breakfast. It is two levels and no elevator. The staff will come to your room and straighten up but they just deliver towels and cups/coffee during your stay. It’s not full room service. It was decent enough but I would have rather stayed on property in one of the one level rooms so my mother with bad knees and my father with a bad back wouldn’t have had to climb the stairs to get to our room.

It's a little awkward and dangerous getting back to the office and breakfast area with the somewhat busy highway area separating you.

It had a separate door for housekeeping to come in. We locked it but twice we were in bed and they just came in. They need to knock or at least make sure we aren’t in there!!
