• JOHN (9/5): Superb, peaceful location with warm, professional service and an exceptional dining experience. - Staff were very friendly, caring, knowledgeable and professional. Our room was large and comfortable with outstanding views over the estuary; the grounds were exceptionally well maintained with several amazing specimen trees (some planted in the first half of the 18th century!) and these framed the hotel to perfection. The menu, food quality and presentation at dinner were all ata level one would expect in a highly-rated city restaurant - a remarkable performance in this rural location.

The loch was receded from the shore so we were able to walk out quite a ways. The air smells so lovely and salty. The staff was beyond exceptional. They were polite, professional, cheerful, & accommodating. Our room was beautiful and so cozy. The chef may be the best chef in all of Scotland. Every single thing we ate was incredible from the eggs to the Haggis. The photos can’t do it justice. N/A
• Jane (4/5): Very disappointing - Location and exterior DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL ON BOOKING.COM. It will cost you £100 per night more than booking directly via their website (as the hotel’s website boasts). Not 10% more - £100 a night MORE! For those of us on a tour booking multiple hotels it’s just not practicable to go on each potential hotel’s website. Because of the disparity between price and the quality of the room I checked their website on arrival so seeing that message didn’t exactly warm the cockles of our hearts. Secondly do not book this hotel anyway. Yes it’s in an amazing spot but our twin room was incredibly pokey with sad, worn out furniture and a stained carpet. We paid extra (a whopping £400 a night) for a sea view that you could only see if standing in the middle of the room or seated on a very uncomfortable stool at the desk (one person at a time). No comfy chairs to sit in. By the morning the condensation on the windows meant no view at all until you have breakfast. But your £400 a night doesn’t get you a cappuccino. No “speciality coffee” available at breakfast because “we find breakfast service works better without it”. So it’s not that they can’t make a cappuccino it’s that they don’t want to. To be clear there were 4 other people having breakfast at the same time as us. We’d read about hotel awards. About staff that were friendly. About amazing service, fabulous beds and wonderful views. For that and the location we were prepared to pay £400 a night. Don’t believe a word of it.

The staff were amazing very friendly and attentive. The hotel was a lovely old building and the furniture and decor matched the vibe and character with added extras of modern needs like a small fridge, tv on the wall and fab shower. We had breakfast which was absolutely beautiful, the taste and presentation and service were spot on. Unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to have dinner but the menu was lovely.

Endroit un peu isolé donc très calme et reposant. RAS Peut être la salle de bain petite et pas très fonctionnelle mais ce n'est qu'un détail.
• Wulf Reisender (6/5): Musty room in a beautiful building close to Inverness - The building itself is beautiful. The grounds are very nice. The common areas give old school luxury. Our room was very pretty to look at with a poster bed. We had a problem with our shower not draining and they took care of it right away for us. There was a very musty smell in our room which never went away, and the windows were painted shut. It was sort of a small thing, but also kind of affected the overall feeling of staying there. Nobody likes a musty old room.

C’est très excessif au vue des prestations. Les plats sont bons mais la quantité est très faible dans les assiettes. Pas de smart TV, pas de sèche cheveux pas de minibar… Pour le prix on s’attend vraiment à mieux niveau service et prestations. Cependant le Séjour fut agréable

We were lucky to have seat at the window but view was spoilt by something that could have easily been avoided with a little consideration.
• Steve (8/5): Nice place to stay right on the waters edge - Dinner was excellent as was the cooked breakfast It was a cold night of only 5 degrees when we stayed but no fires were lit and it was cold in the bar and Dinning room. We asked the bar person and she said she would get someone to light a fire, no one did this. The previous Hotel we stayed at had three fires going in the bar and lounge room plus radiator heating so many people stayed for extra drinks before and after dinner - something to consider when deciding about lighting the fires.

• Kristina (10/5): A beautiful stay on Beauly Firth - Our stay at Bunchrew House Hotel far exceeded any expectations. The hotel itself is stunning. Located on the water, the views are stunning. Our room was one of the largest we had during our 10-day Scotland road trip and was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The food is delicious - we particularly enjoyed breakfast - and the dining room overlooks the water, resulting in gorgeous views while eating. It was a short drive into the city making for a convenient locations. Would absolutely stay here again!

Der Service war erstklassig, aufmerksam und herzlich, man fühlte sich sofort willkommen und rundum verwöhnt. Das Frühstück à la carte war ein Traum: frisch, liebevoll angerichtet und mit perfektem Service serviert. Hier stimmt einfach jedes Detail – von der Atmosphäre bis zur Gastfreundschaft. Jeder, der nach Schottland reist, sollte mindestens einmal in so einer Unterkunft übernachten. Es ist nicht einfach ein Hotel, sondern ein echtes Erlebnis, das man nie vergisst.

• sharon (8/5): Overnight stay at Bunchrew House - Size of room, food was good. Location was good bed comfortable. Nice fire in bar. . Bit tired, breakfast service could have been better. No sauces offered and took a while to bring it when asked for. Had to be reminded to bring orange juices. Bathroom was cold - heating could have been switched on by staff when they showed us to room or they could have shown us how to do it.

• Lori (10/5): Beautiful house with picturesque views. - We had a charming room on the highest floor. Lots of stairs, but we expected that and only brought in what we needed for the night. We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant, but it smelled amazing. We did eat breakfast the next morning and it was really good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was very large and the bathroom quite spacious. . .not always what you find in Europe. I'd definitely stay again! Nothing. . .everything was great!

• Lauren (10/5): - This property was positively magical. From the turreted roof to the enchanting gardens to the loch-side views, it felt like we were in another era. The staff were kind and the high tea was absolutely fabulous. For having such storied history, the hotel is kept up to high standards, and we adored our suite with a view. The perfect place for an overnight stay on the way to Skye. There was very little to dislike about Bunchrew. The bed was a bit firm for our liking but that is just personal preference.

I am trying to think of anything that could be improved upon and the only one I could think of was to change the use of high quality paper napkins to linen ones in the restaurant! Nothing!

• Ian (10/5): Relaxed romantic waterfront historic house with fantastic food and comfortable rooms. - Relaxed vibe beside the water, a boutique country house hotel with great staff and a warm welcome. Food is exceptionally good, breakfasts are beautifully cooked and presented and dinner is as good as some Michelin starred places we’ve visited - worth having dinner here as part of your stay. Very dog friendly with lovely walks in the grounds and a dedicated dining room for visitors with dogs which is still laid to the high standards you can see in the main dining room with crisp white linen cloths and shining silverware. Rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable with quality white cotton sheets. A real treat whether you are here for relaxation, a romantic stay, to experience the Lord Lovat / Fraser family heritage of the house, or for a business trip in Inverness which is only a short 10-15 minutes away. Some areas of the house are ‘worn’ but there are clear signs that it’s being upgraded and improved, reception advised us new furniture was being delivered for the lounge, to compliment the new curtains and refreshed decor - the hotel will only get better as it’s family owned and you can tell there’s an attention to details because of that.
