• Oliver (10/5): Best hotel in Kochi! - What a fantastic stay from start to finish! By far the best hotel I’ve stayed in India. Stay at this hotel in Kochi! Service, pool, food, room amenities, location are all 5 star! The hotel is beautiful with top facilities tastefully decorated with a laid back luxury feel. The staff go out of their way to make your stay special. Special thanks to Jerin Joseph and his team for arranging a courier for a large handicraft purchase to the UK during my stay. He truly went out of his way to make this happen on a Sunday (non-working day) on my last day. Thank you for a fantastic stay, my only regret is that I didn’t stay in Kochi longer. I’ll be back soon. Nothing!

When two of us went down with the flu, the staff went above and beyond to help us, by getting a doctor on site, accomodating special food requests and constantly enquiring of our well being. The hotel itself is so gorgeous, with authentic instagram worthy Portuguese architecture! Shout out to Shaan and Jayachandran and other staff - thank you! Highly recommend the hotel!

Smooth check in. Room: Clean, comfortable with filtered water bottles, French press for coffee, nice touch. Our room was facing the street, so noisy at all the times. Bathroom clean, modern with all amenities. White bathroom rug was stained. Breakfast buffet: A blend of Indian and Western items; made to order omelets, waffles, french toast and Dosa; fruits and cereals. Afternoon tea: Served in the courtyard by the pool. Some snacks with tea/coffee...very relaxing. We did not try the evening dinner served here. Dinner: The first night, had pizza with beer at the restaurant, was good; very relaxing. Valentine's Day: Beautiful decorations. Buffet dinner: Vast selection of dishes and desserts, very good. A lot of food and shopping options close to the hotel on either side of street. Close to waterfront, can walk to the fishing nets. Courteous, friendly and helpful staff; helped arrange taxi to airport, thank you. All in all, a good stay.

• Paul (7/5): Lovely hotel but no hot water.. - The hotel itself is stunning to look at from the outside and quite impressive on the inside too. The service is friendly, welcoming and quite efficient. The furnishings are in keeping with a period property and overall I enjoyed my stay. One of the reasons I chose this hotel, and the room in particular which I was happy to pay extra for, was because it had a bath. Having not soaked in a bath for two weeks since leaving the U.K. all I wanted was a hot, yes HOT, bath. Not a single drop of hot water came out of the taps in the evening, nor for the entire of the following morning. Several calls to reception, and even a visit from a staff member, couldn’t find me any hot water. They offered to pay for my dinner from the night before, but wouldn’t go any further and include my bar bill nor discount my room as they’d already run the total through my card company. They did offer me a massage, which I declined. So you could say they tried, but not hard enough. Not when the only reason I paid for a room upgrade was to have a bath. It’s 2026! Surely bad plumbing is a thing of the past?! Clearly not. Be warned, don’t stay here if you want a hot bath, or shower for that matter.

Das Hotel war rundherum super. Beim Fischmarkt und den so berühmten chinesischen Fischernetzen ist der Strand sehr sehr dreckig. Schade.

Poolside is very clean and the complimentary coffee and snacks at four are a nice moment to get out of the pool and enjoy a Yahtzee game in the shadow.

Geräusche wie die Müllabfuhr oder bellende Hunde sind dabei hörbar und können den Schlaf etwas beeinträchtigen.

• BoatGR (10/5): Great Hotel, even better staff - Great location on Princess Street with easy walking access to local sights. The atmosphere is very relaxed and this was reinforced in the hotel information where it advises you can wear what you wish but be respectful. I had a standard room that was very large and the room had everything I needed with toiletries and a mini fridge stocked with soft drinks and nibbles. The water at the hotel has been treated and the drinking water has been additionally filtered. As such ice and water provided at the hotel is safe to consume. The morning buffet is a blend of western, Indian, cereals and fruits. A good breakfast will certainly power you through the day. Staff throughout the hotel are exceptional and a particular shout out to Hotel Manager Jerin who is very friendly and easy to engage with to answer any questions you may have. I enjoyed my three nights at the hotel because the hotel is very good, but all the staff made my experience very enjoyable.

Outside is a little noisy if your room is faced to the main road. The pool is great but not many beach decks and not well layouted. The breakfast was kind of boring.

Some aspects of the hotel are not 5*: - Noise from the pool area due to big groups overtaking the pool and playing ball games, making it not very relaxing. This can also be heard from rooms by the pool due to limited soundproofing. For a 5-star resort with a small pool area, there could be more rules in place to make sure everyone can enjoy the space and relax. - Staff in the restaurant are not proactive, especially at breakfast. No one comes over to take your order or explain the menu or ask if you would like a hot drink; you have to chase them. - Staff are not very helpful or accommodating with requests, even for something simple like wanting to have lunch outside. In comparison to some lower star hotels we stayed in, some requests felt difficult.

Rooms are beautifully appointed with great amenities On our visit we were advised the the menu was limited due to world issues so the menu we had for lunch on day one was the only menus offered, on the menu was pizza which was very good, service was a bit slow even though the restaurant wasn’t busy but the food was lovely. We didn’t feel we could eat here for the next 2 days which forced us to go to local restaurants which was a great experience. The pool area is stunning Bar was lovely however it only provided beer or wine. We enjoyed our stay and the location

We stayed for 4 nights and were very sad to leave. The staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was a problem. The rooms are gorgeous and clean, the bed super comfortable. The pool area is gorgeous and they serve coffee/tea and snacks every afternoon (includdd in price). This means people congregate there and so you get to meet other guests & share tips for things to see/do. The restaurant is great. We intended to try different places every lunch and evening but actually ended up coming back to eat there more often because the food was so nice. Their paratha’s are addictive!!! We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone/everyone. It was great!

• JMKTMO (10/5): Saved the best for last - We recently completed our month-long tour of southern India by staying at Forte Kochi on Princess Street. This is a quaint boutique hotel that is perfectly located in the Old Fort area. The rooms are very comfortable with great air conditioning. Since it is an older building, the walls are very thick. The pool area is beautiful, and the lounge is comfortable and inviting. The breakfasts were great with their made to order dishes and the food at dinner was some of the best we had on our trip. These physical amenities are the least of what is impressive in a hotel. In a country where the staffs of hotels and restaurants go above and beyond for you...Forte's staff really does go above and beyond. From Jerin Joseph, who is the hotel manager, through to the housekeeping staff, we have never met a nicer and more accommodating group of people. They made the end of our trip very memorable. The only negative about the hotel is that since it is an older building, the bathrooms have very little counter space. The hotel is also perfectly located within the Kochi Old Fort area. You walk out the door, and you are in the midst of great shops, amazing history like St. Francis Church, and wonderful restaurants. We went to another hotel for afternoon tea, a harbor cruise, and then dinner and while the hotel and its grounds were beautiful...it was in the middle of nowhere. You had to take a car for everything. At the Forte, some of the best of Kochi is just steps away. We will always have a warm place in our hearts for Forte Kochi and the spectacular staff who made our staff so memorable. If we get back to Kochi...this is where we will definitely stay.

I've stayed there 4 times now! All the staff were so nice and helpful. Rooms are super clean and a shout-out especially to my housekeeper Nandana for the cute towel animals and sweet goodnight notes on my bed - made me smile at the end of a long day. :)

The setting is very pretty and meals around the pool are enchanting. A slight downside is the slow service and staff querying my review when we checked out. I don’t think the hotel is 5 star quality but it’s a very good 4 star.
• RACMAN (8/5): Step in history in charming Kochi! - We spent 3 nights at Forte Kochi in February 2026. The hotel is hosted in one of the most iconic and historical buildings of Kochi, right on the main street. Location couldn't be better for shopping, sightseeing and hanging around this charming and intriguing corner of India. The hotel is the result of an accurate and tasteful restoration that reflects the glorious past of the house and of Kochi itself. We had an Imperial Room which was really comfortable and spacious with all the modern comforts and reflecting the colonial style of the entire property. The courtyard and the pool are a wonderful spot to spend a few hours after exploring the area, to enjoy the daily traditional afternoon tea or a romantic dinner. We ate there on our first evening and we had a scrumptious seafood meal, both plentiful and convenient! Breakfasts are buffet style with a good selection and an additional small menu. Service is wonderfully friendly, professional and the entire staff will make you feel really welcome! Don't miss the early morning walking tour that the hotel offers every day. It's the perfect way to have an introduction to the rich history of Kochi and enjoy the area before it gets crowded. Some areas we feel could be addressed to further enhance the overall experience: - turndown service could be provided - a welcome fruit basket in the rooms could be a nice touch as well as bathrobes in bathrooms. In all Kochi is a very interesting destination. With its colonial atmosphere and rich history it is definitely not to be missed . Wandering in the different areas of the historic Fort Kochi and Matancherry is a unique experience which blends history, art, local culture and a touch of a unique India! Thank you for a great stay! • Scenic16161408666 (10/5): Best of bests fort kochi❤️ - We had a wonderful stay at forte kochi. Stayed only for 1 night but we will definitely come back as we had our dinner at catch of kochi, the sea food served was soo yummy. And the staffs were so friendly and attentive from the doorman

• CHRISTOPHE (9/5): Très bel hôtel avec beaucoup de cachet au cœur de Fort Kochi - Le cadre est magnifique, l'hôtel est parfaitement entretenu, il possède un réel cachet. Tout est raffiné à défaut d'être complètement fonctionnel. Très joli espace piscine. Les chambres et les communs sont décorés avec beaucoup de goût. Le restaurant est excellent : la cuisine est variée et très fine. Emplacement hyper central pour visiter la vieille ville. Le personnel adorable et extrêmement serviable. Un très bel endroit, donc. Le lit était trop mou et très étroit pour deux personnes. La chambre côté rue était bruyante : l'insonorisation n'est vraiment pas optimale.
