• Stephen (10/5): You will be lucky to take a break here! - Honestly this was an outstanding place and host too. The house is very well equipped and maintained and easy to walk into and stay in. Its location is 5*. We could not find a single thing we did not like. Kyla our host was always available and super kind, thank you Kyla.

• Fred (9/5): Luxe accommodatie, rustig gelegen - Ruime woning (geschikt voor een groep van 8 personen), van alle faciliteiten voorzien, met inpandige garage. Rustig gelegen, op het terrein van een grote fruitkweker. Hottub was ook een aanwinst. 's Avonds in het donker, in de hottub genieten van de sterrenhemel. Ze hebben een groot balcon, die uitkijkt over het dal. Zicht wordt voor belangrijk deel beperkt door een tweetal bomen. Dat was wel jammer. We hadden ons verheugd op een mooi uitzicht.

Incredibly spacious. Everything we needed. The wood-fire hot tub in particular is fantastic. I will definitely be returning.

The house was quiet and situated in a beautiful setting. A comfortable place to sit outside to enjoy the view and eat a meal would be nice.

Nous voyageons beaucoup avec Booking mais jamais nous n'avons eu un logement aussi parfait et exceptionnel. Cadre magnifique, maison immense totalement équipée avec du matériel de qualité, literie confortable, hôte très sympathique. En résumé un petit paradis. Rien. Ah si, ne rester qu'une nuit!

• Elizabeth (10/5): Loved it! - Lovely guesthouse and well-appointed. It had everything we needed. Would have loved to stay longer to make use of the KolKol spa! Owner was very friendly and helpful. As a tall person, I specifically loved the high counter tops! Note: this house is not for people who have mobility issues. It is not advertised as such for good reason. It was not much of an issue for us, because our dad managed to negotiate the steps. The gravel pathway is not good for rolling suitcases

• Tandys (9/5): The perfect place to stay in the Koue Bokkeveld - If you are looking to go to the Koue Bokkeveld then this is the perfect place to stay. In winter you will be able to keep warm with a fireplace in the lounge, and electric blankets on the bed. There is a hot tub which we did not use, as well as an indoor braai. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, but you need to bring your own cleaning products with you. It was not easy to access the rubbish bins, and the washing machine had to be moved in order for us to load the dishwaher.

The rustic yet modern charm seamlessly blends with lush greenery, providing breathtaking views of a dam from cozy outdoor hottub. Impeccable landscaping and massive guest house with everything thought of, even a complimentary bottle of red wine really enhance the experience. A truly rejuvenating and inspiring stay. I've stayed for a short time but now that I've seen what a gem it is, I am going to book for longer.

• Pierreandcelestza (10/5): You won't want to leave. - I was a bit worried about the self-book in, but the day before, we were contacted by Kyla through Whatsapp. She gave us all the info, instructions, the brochure, sent the location and gave directions to get there. She was constantly in touch over the weekend to give load shedding updates and an update when the entire area's electricity went down. (More later.) The house is very well furnished and the kitchen has every imaginable appliance and tool. The house has an indoor and outdoor braai, a kolkol (wood fired hot tub) and a cozy fireplace. This was much appreciated, as the weather went from sunshine to rain, to sleet and eventually snow in the 2 days we spent there. All of this can be well appreciated outdoors or from inside, by the fire. Every room is spacious, livable and has an awesome view. What a treat. As mentioned earlier, the power utility "blessed" us with about half a day without electricity. This was easily the best power outage I have experienced in my life, as we spent it by the fire reading, playing games (provided) and simply enjoying the awesome views. The house is extremely well kitted for this. Worth noting is that the accommodation is a short drive from the Swartruggens conservancy, where we enjoyed a short hike and saw some amazing rock art. If weather permits, there are other moderate to moderately strenuous hikes around and I highly recommend these. Unfortunately, weather was a bit unpredictable. This place will definitely see us again. I highly recommend this for a couples stay alone, as well as a getaway with good friends or even family. I truely hated leaving. :'(

• Sauvik (9/5): Excellent place for a weekend getaway with friends and family - the property was very spacious with all essential appliances. It was perfect for spending leisure time with family and friends. it was very quiet, no change of disturbance from outer world as it was quite isolated. common area including braai area was outstanding. Child-friendly There was no one to communicate immediately as the owner was away with no mobile network. Did not get any information about the surrounding. The main door lock was not working from outside so we had cross one of the bedroom to get access of the garage for going outside. One common bathroom and one attached bathroom was insufficient for four families.

• Rossouw (10/5): Absolutely beautiful and exeptional value for money - What a beautiful house in a beautiful setting. We had the entire house to ourselves and it was wonderful. We enjoyed the inside braai area as it was windy outside, while the kids played some of the games available. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be back.
• Ivan (10/5): Exceptional - This assessment is arguably bizarre. Notwithstanding we were not able to stay overnight at the lodge, we still want to give a (very good) review. On the day before our arrival, there was a particularly severe thunderstorm. As a result, the electricity supply around the lodge was destroyed. We were informed of this by the owners who assured us that everything was being done to repair it as soon as possible. When we were on our way to the lodge the next day, another particularly heavy thunderstorm broke out. We were informed by the owners that - due to the heavy rains - the road to the lodge was very dangerous (and that electricity had not yet been restored). Kyla assured us that it was dangerous to drive on to the lodge and that everything would be paid back. We were kept on point about the weather conditions and were able to find another overnight stay away from the thunderstorms. The refund was -as promised- carried out correctly. Thanks for everything - we will visit next year and hopefully the weather will be nice then ;-)

• Stephen (9/5): Superb - What a lovely property, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. It is enormous for 2 people and if we stay again we will make sure it is with family or friends and definitely stay for more than 1 night. The views are great and it was nice walking locally, especially with all the birdlife. Pretty much perfect, except that we were looking forward to using the hot tub but a shame it is wood fired which is a bit of a faff when you are trying to cook dinner and it's getting late, so we didn't end up using it.
