• MARCELINO (10/5): Merveilleux - L hôtel est en fait une magnifique villa française rénovée il y a une vingtaine d années pour en faire un petit hôtel ou l on se sent comme invité chez des amis. Le personnel est très gentil. La piscine est très appréciable lors de fortes chaleurs. C est un havre de sérénité.

Although oozing old Cambodian charm it was very tired. Would benefit from clean paintwork, washing of muslin window coverings, door locks precarious, bathroom basic, bath/shower leaked all over floor. Bed linen clean and room condition acceptable. Lunch pretty poor.

The historical building has its pluses and minuses. The bathroom lacks the water pressures. Showering is a little difficult because there is no curtain and water splashes everywhere on the floor creating a slipping hazard.

Besonders b - Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel La Villa war rundum wunderbar und bleibt uns in bester Erinnerung. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das außergewöhnlich freundliche und aufmerksame Personal. Von der ersten Minute an wurden wir mit einer Herzlichkeit empfangen, die den Aufenthalt sofort besonders gemacht hat. Das gesamte Team war stets hilfsbereit, zuvorkommend und immer gut gelaunt – man fühlt sich hier wirklich willkommen. Das Hotel selbst ist ein wunderschön restauriertes Gebäude im französischen Kolonialstil. Das Haus wurde ursprünglich Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts von kambodschanischen Handelsleuten erbaut und hat seinen historischen Charme bis heute bewahrt. Gleichzeitig wurde es mit viel Geschmack und Liebe zum Detail renoviert, sodass sich Geschichte und Komfort auf sehr harmonische Weise verbinden. Ein weiteres Highlight ist der traumhafte Garten. Er ist eine grüne Oase der Ruhe und lädt zum Entspannen und Abschalten ein. Besonders angenehm ist der große Swimmingpool, der ausreichend Platz bietet, um ein paar Bahnen zu schwimmen oder sich einfach im Wasser abzukühlen. Rund um den Pool gibt es gemütliche Plätze zum Lesen, Ausruhen oder einfach zum Genießen der entspannten Atmosphäre. Auch kulinarisch hat uns das Hotel überzeugt: Das Essen war durchweg sehr gut, frisch und liebevoll zubereitet. Besonders positiv fanden wir außerdem den konsequenten Einsatz umweltfreundlicher Materialien. So wird beispielsweise vollständig auf Plastikflaschen verzichtet – ein schönes Zeichen für nachhaltiges und verantwortungsbewusstes Reisen. Die Lage des Hotels ist ebenfalls ideal. Direkt am Fluss gelegen, sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten bequem zu erreichen, und Tuktuks stehen jederzeit in ausreichender Zahl zur Verfügung, sodass man sich problemlos durch die Stadt bewegen kann. Insgesamt können wir das Hotel La Villa wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Wenn man wirklich ganz genau hinschauen möchte, könnte man höchstens die Dusche erwähnen: Sie besteht aus einem einfachen Sprühkopf ohne feste Halterung. Für uns war das jedoch nur eine kleine Randnotiz und hat den insgesamt sehr positiven Eindruck unseres Aufenthalts in keiner Weise beeinträchtigt.

Il soggiorno è stato davvero eccellente sotto ogni punto di vista. La posizione dell’hotel è perfetta: vicinissimo al centro storico di Battambang e allo stesso tempo immerso in una zona molto viva la sera, tra mercatini, aree pedonali e danze all’aperto che rendono l’atmosfera unica, autentica e coinvolgente. La piscina è meravigliosa, la stanza ampia e curata nei minimi dettagli, con uno stile elegante e raffinato. Ho adorato il design della villa, che trasmette carattere, armonia e un profondo senso di comfort. Il vero valore aggiunto, però, è senza dubbio il personale: sinceramente cordiale, sempre disponibile e animato da un sorriso autentico che ti fa sentire a casa fin dal primo istante. Una menzione speciale va a Nakim alla reception, gentilissimo e prezioso per ogni necessità, oltre che guida d’eccezione come nostro tuk tuk driver, e a Ioem “Thea”, fantastica, spiritosa e sempre premurosa. Eccezionale anche la cucina: gli chef sono estremamente talentuosi, capaci di valorizzare sia la cucina khmer che quella western con piatti curati, gustosi e sorprendenti. Un soggiorno indimenticabile che consiglio con tutto il cuore! L’hotel fornisce spazzolini da denti, dentifricio e altri articoli per il bagno, ma potrebbe migliorare il modo in cui questi vengono confezionati. Attualmente spazzolino e dentifricio sono inclusi nella stessa confezione; tuttavia lo spazzolino può essere utilizzato per più giorni, mentre la quantità di dentifricio è spesso sufficiente solo per un giorno. Una fornitura con spazzolini e dentifricio confezionati separatamente permetterebbe agli ospiti di utilizzare solo ciò che serve, evitando sprechi inutili e contribuendo anche a una riduzione della produzione di rifiuti in plastica.

Also in a good area short walking distance to the city centre. Really quiet and peaceful vibes. The pool was very cold so a bit difficult to use.

Un relitto storico stretto tra palazzi moderni e per questo ancora più prezioso in una realtà che sta cedendo il passo a una modernità chiassosa. Purtroppo la presenza di un locale in cui si pratica karaoke tutte le sere fino alle 2/3 del mattino a volume elevato rende difficile dormire.

If you are an antiques fan you may well love this For me, it was too colonial and I felt it needed refurbishment with a good scrub of tiles, mosquito nets etc. Not to lose it's heritage , just to feel more comfortable. I probably chose wrongly and I'm sure many would love this place.

• Dav (10/5): - Die Lage ist sehr schön, der Pool ist toll… Die Dame an der Rezeption hat mir zuerst viel zu wenig Wechselgeld gegeben. Statt 16.000 Real hat sie mir 4000 gegeben und gesagt das passt so… als ich sie darauf aufmerksam gemacht habe hat sie gemeint sie hat sich vertan. Ich bin mir nicht sicher aber es war ein Nachgeschmack beim Check out.

• Irene (10/5): Auf jedenfall zu empfehlen - Eine kleine Oase im Kolonialstil. Ein sehr schöner Pool im Garten lädt ein um nach Ausflügen mit einem Cocktail den Tag ausklingen zu lassen. Wir haben einen Abend sehr gut gegessen. Kleine Reparaturen sind einfach überfällig, trotzdem ist man den Charme dieses kleinen Hotels erlegen.
