The hotel staffs really care - We were in a really tough spot before our stay — we had traveled with our baby and needed a suite with a kitchen, but our booking wasn't reflecting what we were promised. We were getting the runaround and felt completely stuck. Then we spoke with Latricia at the front desk, and everything changed. She listened with genuine empathy, took our situation seriously, and went above and beyond to find us a suite with a kitchen. She didn't just go through the motions — she actually cared and did everything in her power to make it right. Because of Latricia, what could have been a stressful start turned into a truly memorable first beach trip for our baby and our family. That kind of warmth and dedication is rare, and it made all the difference. Thank you, Latricia. You are the reason we will always remember this trip fondly. - Julia (6/5): Way overpriced for the lack of cleanliness and hospitality - Great location within walking distance of the heart of Myrtle Beach, a wide beach, direct access to the Boardwalk, and a decent breakfast. There were several issues that completely ruined our stay, and we definitely won’t be coming back. For a 3-star hotel, the level of poor cleaning was honestly shocking. There were holes in the walls, dirty towels with visible stains, and the most disgusting part - black slime(mold?) in the shower. It was unpleasant just to take a shower. This kind of buildup does not appear overnight which makes me question how often the bathrooms are actually cleaned(spoiler alert - for weeks). Considering how superficial the cleaning seemed overall, it also made me question the cleanliness of the bedding, dishes, and other items in the room. And when we checked in there were barely shower gel left in the shower meaning they even don't check these items between guests (how difficult is it to fill in the bottle, right?). BTW, the hotel provides a kitchenette, dishes, and even dish soap but no dish sponge. Are guests expected to pack their own sponge for vacation? Do you often pack a sponge with you? The AC unit was extremely outdated and unbelievably loud. Sleeping was difficult even with earplugs. As many other reviewers mentioned, most of the staff supervising the pool area were unnecessarily aggressive and unpleasant (to the point my kids didn't want to go back to the pool (and they love swimming)). The only exception was one bearded gentleman who was consistently polite and welcoming. Also, don’t forget the $25/night valet parking fee. The parking garage is nearby so self-parking could easily be offered instead. For the price, the hotel should feel clean and well-maintained. Instead, it felt more like an aging motel that’s trying very hard to pass as something better.

- Notanewbe (10/5): Great First Visit - We had a wonderful stay April 21-24 at the Homewood suites in Myrtle Beach. From check-in to departure, every staff member we came in contact with was friendly, helpful, personable, and professional. Our room #1910 was on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Everything in the room was clean and in working order. The bathroom was spotless! The A/C unit was quiet and efficient. Special recognition has to be given to the breakfast staff. We were there the same time as the World's Strongest Man competition was taking place and quite a few of the people attending it stayed the hotel. These gentlemen surely can eat, and they certainly kept the staff busy, but the servers were up to the task. We look forward to our next visit to Myrtle Beach and the Homewood Suites. Thanks to the front desk supervisor Heather who took the time to answer all our questions about the area and made our stay special.

Needs were met with a quick text instead of having to call. Amazing view. Valet only parking. I would have paid the $25 (or more even) a day to have access to the garage myself. I opted to park in a lot so I could use my vehicle freely without wait. During peak season this would have been more difficult to find paid street parking so close.

The room itself was good with just what we needed .... 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa. The location was wonderful on the beach. The valet parking was crowded and so were the elevators. Being on the 18th floor became a problem especially taking our luggage up and down. The pool area was over crowded and dirty. We never got a receipt from the hotel and valet wouldn't let me go back to the front desk.

Most of the front desk was friendly, and housekeeping was accommodating. The real star of the show was Bubba at the in-house restaurant, Coconut Charlie's. We actually had the best food and service of our entire stay at Coconut Charlie's, and they deliver to your room. And I am picky, so I pray this helps someone.

From the moment my husband and I sat down, she was welcoming, attentive, and incredibly personable. Shana has a great energy and clearly knows her craft—my drinks were perfect every time. Beyond that, she created such a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere, making it easy to relax and unwind after a long day. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt taken care of. If you’re staying here, definitely stop by the bar and see Shana—you won’t be disappointed!

We had to beg for them to clean our room on our 3 nights and they didn't, but halfway on our 3rd night didnt clean sink, floors etc, didnt empty trash, just made 2 beds and towels. The breakfast was ok, not a fan of chicken sausage and tortilla shells. The beds were hard. I had to get 2 rooms, so for 3grand, I was not impressed. The indoor pool area was cold and dangerous and smelled like chlorine. I say dangerous because my 30 year old daughter almost went out of the slide while going down, she's not big. The outdoor bar was dirty. It was worth 2 grand, not 3, sorry.

- sarahgF371CK (10/5): Made a cold day at the beach better - I’m such a picky hotel person when it comes to cleanliness and inspect everything as soon as I check in. Have even been known to wipe everything down in our room. This hotel seemed super well-maintained even by my standards. All staff were very helpful - we needed extra towels and paper towels and they were quickly dropped off. Shana in the restaurant was particularly amazing when I called and asked some questions about the menu and closing time. Valet is indeed expensive but the attendants were great and fast (there’s also city parking close if you want to skip the valet). It was unexpectedly too cold for the beach during our stay but the indoor water area, small arcade, and easy access to the boardwalk and all its attractions was perfect for the day of doing the touristy boardwalk thing that we’d planned (after starting the vacation in a quieter place). There are calmer areas of Myrtle Beach/South Carolina if that’s what you want. Some considerations: we had a top floor and it was spectacular for views and quiet. But the buzzing from the wind on the balconies/roof that other reviews mentioned is real. It was so windy when we were there and the buzzing was loud. It didn’t keep us from sleeping (we had a sound machine) but if that kind of sound bothers you maybe don't get a top floor. Also the fitness center is small and the elliptical was broken so ask questions in advance if that’s important to you.
