Every detail seemed designed to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The variety of activities offered kept things exciting, with options for all ages. I especially loved that every morning, I was greeted with fresh coffee, and there were delicious snacks available throughout the day. It was the perfect blend of relaxation and fun, and I left feeling refreshed and cared for. I can't recommend this place enough!

- mattshaughnessy2025 (10/5): First stay at Sage Lodge - Forget how beautiful the lodge is, sitting on a lake, surrounded by mountain and absolutely gorgeous property--which it is. What set's this property apart from anywhere else that we've been, is that literally every employee that we came into contact with seemed genuinely excited to have us there. The bellman, Chris at front desk, the young girl that served us unbelievable ginger cocktails upon arrival (along with dog treats for our GSD), to Dallas the pastry chef that gave us a ccokie baking class (highly recommend), to the guy in gift shop that gave us quick lesson on how to cast flyrods, to Mandy in the Grill who is one of best servers ever, the guy that set up our "dog station" in our room, even the GM came and introduced himself. Not sure if it was slow season but the folks at Sage Lodge makes you feel so welcome that you can't wait to go back. We literally booked two rooms for Thanksgiving as we checked in for the first time. This place will not disappoint!
- mayraelisam (10/5): Magical place close to Yellowstone. - There was one front desk lady who misled us a couple of times and given that we are in the middle of nowhere and we will likely not come back soon, it was disappointing that we missed two things because of her lack of knowledge. Other than that, our experience was very memorable. Mandy at the Grill made our dinner experience unforgettable! The fly fishing was not our favorite activity, and we will likely not do it again. We would love to go back during the summer.
- Jccarlin (10/5): The Real Western Experience - The lodge experience and surroundings were so beautiful and amazing that we felt like we were in a Hollywood Cowboy Movie! The restaurants served fantastic food, the views of mountains, fields and rivers were serene and peaceful. The perfect setting for the outdoor wedding we attended.
- msmith1297 (10/5): Yellowstone Visit - Sage Lodge is the place to stay. I cannot complement their staff enough. I highly recommend this lodge. Front desk Bailey, JT, Graham and Chris were very helpful and knowledgeable about lodge and the area. Guide Tanner was helpful with Yellowstone, hiking, branding and panning for gold. Very knowledgeable about Yellowstone and everything fly fishing. Housekeeping Kim was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Bartenders Morgan and Joe from the grill inside the lodge were very accommodating.

The food quality is very high, views are amazing, and the river is right outside if fishing is on the agenda. Cant wait to return.

The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful, the rooms are beautiful with the most amazing views! The attention to detail is what makes this place 10/10. The food is so good and I love being able to eat at two different restuaraunts....and I can't wait to go back. We had our wedding at Sage and stayed two nights, and I couldn't recommend this location enough.

The views are breathtaking, the staff is phenomenal, the food at Fireside is spectacular!! I cannot wait to stay here again! Even if just driving by, stop by to check out the view and eat some food, it's 1000% worth it!
- KRN816 (8/5): Location, location, location! - The setting for Sage Lodge is breathtaking! The area is gorgeous and be sure to enjoy the sunrise, the open sky and horizon! The Lodge is perfectly located a short distance from Yellowstone and they offer wonderful excursions to the park. I cannot recommend the excursion enough and I wish we had booked 2 days of excursions. The rooms are as depicted on the website. They are furnished in Montana chic and are comfortable and well appointed. Daily coffee, tea and snacks are provided in the “Nook”. This was a special touch especially the fresh sugar cookies at noon! S’more kits are available at the front desk and were very popular around the nightly fire pits. ( despite the fact that the guests were mostly adults!!) We enjoyed meeting other guests in the lobby and around the property. The common areas are welcoming with plenty of spots to play board games and cards. Live music was offered most nights during our stay Be sure to plan ahead and book activities and excursions if you are interested. These seem to fill up and limited options are available day of. We particularly enjoyed archery and e-bikes. The spa was also very nice but was very small. Food options are limited in the area. The food in the Fireside Room was slightly above average but there are limited menu options especially for a longer stay. We did not try the Grill but other guests raved about their experience. The lodge is a very memorable experience and quite expensive. The cost is more reflective of the remote area and the local economy rather than a luxury experience. We did experience some housekeeping issues that were corrected but were certainly not expected at this price point. I would recommend the resort for adults or families with older kids. The atmosphere is quiet This is a perfect spot to relax or to enjoy the Yellowstone or fly fishing excursions.

- P9597TLrobm (10/5): LOVE THIS PLACE! - We stayed for a week in C11 while here on a job up in Pack Creek area. This place is AMAZING! Very clean and spacious. The art work inside is all beautiful. It was so nice to go down and relax by and in the pool after a hard days work. WHO did all that incredible concrete to make it look like rock work? Mind blowing 🤯 I accidentally left my sleep ring by the bed. Clean up crew was honest and put it aside for me to pick up later, THANK YOU🙏🏼 Rob Meyer

The staff was absolutely wonderful, terrific customer service, and reasonably affordable prices when you compare them to others at a four or five star level. We did Yellowstone tours and fly fishing, and the guides are some of the best we have ever had. Highly recommended as an option to see Montana, especially as the gateway to Yellowstone. I would definitely encourage anyone to give the Sage Lodge, a strong look

The sheer beauty of the Mountain ranges and Yellowstone was only enhanced by the Sage Lodges beautiful facilities, exceptional staff, amazing Spa and the onsite restaurants. I do not normally take the time to write reviews but this was such an amazing get away I felt I needed to share. This was our first visit to The Sage Lodge, but it will not be our last!

The staff delighted and surprised us at every turn with their warmth, their professionalism, and their knowledge of Montana. The dining was exceptional. - resortstays (10/5): Blend of charm and comfort - We stayed at the Sage Lodge as part of a 20-person group and hosted a private event. We had an outstanding stay and would love to come back. LOCATION: Stunning location in the heart of Paradise Valley about 30 minutes from the north entrance of Yellowstone. There are sweeping views of the Montana landscape in every direction and it’s a very different (preferred) vibe from Big Sky. It’s about a one-hour drive from Bozeman airport. SERVICE: Warm and attentive service across the board but not always consistent. I had few calls to the front desk which went unanswered in the evenings and mornings. Michelle, our group’s main contact, was exceptional. She was available via text and proactively checked in during our stay. Chris at the front desk —friendly, helpful, and always available with a smile. ROOMS: The rooms and the resort in general are a blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. Our room was spacious and quiet with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains – high speed Wifi, excellent air conditioning and convenient USB ports throughout. RESTAURANTS: Breakfast is available from 7 am, which was too late for us as we departed for Yellowstone early each day. The lodge should consider offering some grab-and-go options as I’m guessing a lot of guests depart early for Yellowstone. I hosted a private event for 20 guests, and everything went seamlessly. The venue was beautiful, the staff coordinated each part smoothly. Thank you to Michelle and Elle who worked behind the scenes and during the event to make it happen.
- wrinkldogs (10/5): SO MUCH MORE THAN EXPECTED !!!! - What a truly wonderful time my husband and I had at Sage Lodge. We were celebrating a milestone anniversary. From our initial check in to our departure, the front desk staff was amazing! They were always available to answer any questions, help if any issues arose and of course just to chat. One of our best trips ever! Our room was on the small size and the lack of clothes storage was an issue. The bed was large, comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The gas fireplace was nice for the chillier times. The bathroom was nice sized; shower was nice with good water pressure. Sitting on the patio looking out at the mountains was breathtaking, we sat there often with a glass of wine and beer. They were able to accommodate us with a floor fan (I need the noise) and a clothes steamer. We did have a few "hiccups" with housekeeping that were resolved with apologies and promptly to our satisfaction. We were there over Easter and their Easter brunch was to die for. Our server even gave us a couple "to go" boxes so we could get some fruit and goodies to have on our trip to Yellowstone Park that day. The bartenders were one on the best parts of our stay, always pleasant, smiling and chatting it up. I had two of the best Aperol Spritz's ever, made two slightly different ways depending on the bartender, but both equally good. My husband went fly fishing with Sam for two days and had a great time catching fish and enjoying the scenery. He can't wait to go back and can't recommend Sam enough. He was also able to fly fish in the onsite stocked pond. I was able to spend one whole day at the spa. It is a wonderful set up with great relaxing area, saunas and an outside hot tub. The treatments were very relaxing and well done. I received, a massage, body wrap/scrub and facial. We ate at the lodge's Fireside Room each day for breakfast. The menu was small, but had good choices and they would accommodate requests if they could. We also ate dinner there a couple nights and really enjoyed the pasta dish and steak frites. We did have our anniversary dinner at "The Grill" restaurant on site, but unfortunately it was not prepared as it should have been. We were able to speak with the resorts dining general manager regarding the issues and she was able to offer an acceptable resolution. They do offer on onsite self-service laundry which I had planned to use, but did not need to. The lodge is only 30 minutes from the North entrance of Yellowstone Park, so we were able to visit the park for 5 of the 7 days we were there. We saw Bison, Bears, Coyotes, Big Horn Sheep, Elk, deer and other smaller animals. This is such a beautiful place, somewhere we cannot wait to return to. The scenery never gets old. I think the two things that make this resort an absolute gem and must visit are the employees and the location (in a valley with mountains surrounding and all kinds of wildlife). We can't wait to go back!!!!

- Patty (10/5): - The property is beautiful. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The only problem was I had to dispute a charge on my checking account. I tried to resolve it with the manager, but I received two different answers for the charge. At first I was told I had two different charges for incidental, one for $100 and one for $174 and that it would come off my account. I immediately thought this was strange to have have to different incidental charges for a one night stay. Then when the charges went through and were charged to my account the amount had changed to $206. I was told it was for the room charge, but I had already paid for the room through Expedia in the amount of $298 for the night. The whole thing is disappointing. It is a beautiful place, but a shame to have to file a dispute.

- lvvacations (10/5): Beautiful Lodge, Wonderful Service - Lovely Place! My friend and I stayed at Sage Lodge as the base for photography in Yellowstone and around the area. The rooms were so comfortable. The best pillows EVER! The staff were also exceptional. Given our time constraints we ate dinner at the Lodge every night also and it was lovely. We were there midweek so missed the grille hours, but the restaurant servers were nice, and accommodating for all our special requests. I am very picky about how my salmon is cooked, but they certainly can grill a salmon very well! My room looked out at Emigrant mountain which was a lovely bonus for a photographer :).

But the best part are the views of the mountain ranges and wild life and very close to Yellowstone National Park. - Y4576YAannac (10/5): Needed some overdue R&R and pampering - From the moment we arrived and spent the day at the Spa receiving 2 different types of services, 2 sets for my wife and 2 for me we really were able to begin decompressing from the business we own. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was exquisite. We ate lunch and breakfast in the Fireside room and dinner at The Grill. The steaks were cooked to perfection and were the best steaks we have eaten, and well worth the price $$. Our room could not have been better if we had designed it ourselves. Spacious, comfortable and definitely a spot to unwind comfortably. In fact our 5 kids would have been comfortable as well in the King Master Suite that we reserved. The lodge had spotting scopes setup so we were able to watch the elk and the mountains were much closer than we anticipated. This trip truly left us relaxed and we felt as though we truly had a vacation from our business and everyday life! We look forward to returning again!

The staff, the food, and the view are as amazing as the view from the famous gigantic lodge windows. With only 34 rooms, the quantness adds to the luxurious feel. Hiking, fishing, spa, gourmet meals - there is no need to leave the resort. We can't wait to get back to our favorite place!

The lobby with it's grand windows perfectly framing the mountains was the perfect place to sit and relax in the afternoon. Warm cider and fresh baked cookies every day at noon was a welcome treat. The grounds were beautiful and we were roughly 35 minutes to the entrance of Yellowstone. The drive to the park along the Yellowstone River was gorgeous. We highly recommend taking a Yellowstone guided tour with Sage Lodge. Garrett, our guide, was awesome. We learned a ton and he did a great job catering to our multi generational group. We will go back for sure!

Enjoyed the food. I would definitely stay here again future. They had an awesome trail we would take a long walk on. They had many activities, including flyfishing, and expeditions that you could participate in. The staff is extremely friendly. The food was amazing and they made it right for us if we did not like something. While it’s expensive, it’s worth every penny

You will notice right away how much teamwork is preset there: all employees work together, and they are all well trained at different tasks. You get treated like royalty there- we were greeted outside the front door when we arrived at 10 pm! They treat guests like family- the overall atmosphere at the resort is warm, zen and peaceful. Definitely a must see!

- Katherine (8/5): - The lodge is beautiful. They need to take the 40/day lodge fee and put it towards the beds. I had read some reviews about the beds but they are hard. We even asked that they add a pillow top to ours. They added a comforter to it but it was still rough. My back was killing me. Tossing and turning all night. Also beware that when you put a card on file they place a hold for what they believe you will spend charging to the room. I was not aware of that. I thought they double charged me because there was over $1,700 even though I had settled prior to check out. The property is beautiful but it’s secluded, due to the weather we opted to UBER- bad idea, rather than rent a car. The roads were rough. UBER charged us $300 to drive to Sage. Then transport service because hotel doesn’t have shuttle was $190. Just seems like for $500/night they would have a shuttle service. They did opt to take us to corner store and Chico if we wanted-those are within 2-5 miles but they won’t pick us up if it’s after 6pm so we didn’t eat anywhere else other than hotel because we didn’t want to pay another crazy Uber fee or get stuck at chico hot springs. All in all it’s beautiful location and park was fun to do. Glad we went but probably won’t be back.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - First, this is a beautiful property situated between two mountain ranges. The views are incredible! Rooms are spacious and comfortable with gas fireplaces, large modern bathrooms and nice touches like a window seat, mini fridge and reading lights. Our bed was a bit hard but slept well. We did find that extra blankets would be nice but they were delivered quickly when we called the front desk. Everyone was so nice and accommodating! The only negatives to our stay were: the strong permeating smell of Brussel Sprouts throughout our stay (even in our room); the very open lobby/restaurant is loud and carried into our room especially when live music is happening in the lobby; and the restaurant is overpriced for what it is. We had room service one night and tried several appetizers which were delivered very quickly and were excellent. But when we ate at the grill, we were disappointed. Our server was inept or inexperienced— no mention of specials, no knowledge of the menu and once we had our food, she did not return to check on drink or water refills! My husband loved the trout but the bison spaghetti was just okay (the nuts were odd). And for a venue with sports on several TVs, condiments being filled on the bar and the noise level, it felt more like a lounge than a nice restaurant with expensive entrees. We did not venture out to the hot tub/spring as it was a good walk outside through snow/ice and very small. Finally, guests coming to Sage in snowy months should bring a 4wd.
