- Misplaced_Childhood (4/5): Nice hotel but far from everything and limited food options - On the "Good-Meh-Suck" scale, this was a a solid "Meh". The resort is located far from more accessible places in Dalian (like the Xinghai Square area). It is located close to Dalian Discovery Kingdom which basically means the hotel is overrun with families and small children. It also appears to be a tourist location with numerous buses coming and going. Thus, the breakfast area is a zoo in the morning. As for lunch, you can go to the same restaurant for a buffet lunch featuring all the same food minus the eggs. Then for dinner, you can go to the same restaurant for the same food. There is a Chinese restaurant but that is all! If you want to hang out at night, the bar is one of the worst bars I have ever been to. It is in the lobby and is not really staffed well and has limited options. It also closes at 10pm. For a resort like this, one would expect a much better option. Apparently there is a Hard Rock Hotel close by that has some better nightlife. I did not check it out. The best was that the rooms have a thermostat that you can set to 18 or 20 degrees Celsius. Note that it will not cool to that temperature. The front desk told me that they only let the cooling go to 22 degrees C. Sorry but I prefer it to be cooler. Would I go here again? Not a chance.

During my recent stay at the Hilton Dalian Golden Pebble Beach Resort, I must admit that my expectations for a true resort experience were shattered. Unfortunately, this property fails to live up to the promise of a luxury resort in almost every aspect. From the lacklustre amenities to the disappointing service, my stay here left much to be desired. Let me provide a detailed account of my experience and why I believe this hotel is far from a resort. Check-In and Lobby: Upon arriving at the hotel, I was greeted with a cold and unenthusiastic welcome. The check-in process was lengthy and disorganized, with no designated staff to assist guests with their luggage. The lobby itself lacked the grandeur and elegance one would expect from a resort, resembling more of a basic business hotel rather than a vacation retreat. The absence of any distinctive décor or relaxing ambiance was immediately noticeable. Rooms: Regrettably, the disappointment continued when I entered my room. The accommodations were outdated and showed signs of wear and tear. The bed linens appeared worn and faded, and the mattress was uncomfortable, leading to a poor night's sleep. The room lacked basic amenities such as a minibar and coffee maker, which are common features in any reputable resort. The overall cleanliness of the room was subpar, with dust on furniture and stains on the carpet. The bathroom was a major letdown; the shower's water pressure was weak, making for an underwhelming showering experience. Amenities: The Hilton Dalian Golden Pebble Beach Resort's amenities were severely lacking. The so-called "resort" boasted of a pool, but it was far from the inviting oasis I had imagined. The on-site restaurant lacked variety in its menu and fell short of delivering a fine dining experience. The food quality was mediocre at best, and the service was painfully slow. Moreover, the restaurant staff seemed disinterested and unresponsive to guests' needs, making dining a disappointing affair. Location: While the name implies proximity to the beach, the reality is quite different. The Hilton Dalian Golden Pebble Beach Resort is far from the shoreline, leaving guests with no easy access to the beach. The lack of a shuttle service to the beach or nearby attractions only adds to the inconvenience. It felt more like a missed opportunity to make the most of the natural surroundings than a well-designed resort experience. Staff and Service: Throughout my stay, I found the staff to be unresponsive and inattentive. Requests for assistance were met with delayed responses, if at all. The lack of a concierge service made it challenging to explore the area, leaving guests feeling abandoned and ill-informed. The overall attitude of the staff was lackluster, and the absence of personalised service left me feeling like just another number in a crowded hotel. In conclusion, my experience at the Hilton Dalian Golden Pebble Beach Resort was far from the resort stay I had envisioned. The lack of attention to detail, outdated facilities, and subpar service make this property a disappointing choice for travelers seeking a true resort experience. The Hilton brand typically promises a high level of luxury and comfort, but this particular establishment falls woefully short of meeting those expectations. If you're looking for a relaxing and luxurious vacation, I would strongly advise against choosing this "resort." There are far better options available in the region that will provide a genuinely memorable and enjoyable stay. The hotel manager's arrogance is matched only by their profound incompetence in the realm of hospitality management. Their misguided approach is evident in: 1. Blatant disregard for guest feedback. 2. Unwarranted superiority complex. 3. Mishandled staff relations. 4. Absence of strategic planning. 5. Fumbled crisis management. 6. Ignorance of industry trends. 7. Inadequate resource allocation. 8. Failed operational coordination. 9. Detached guest interactions. 10. Severe misjudgment of market demands.

The pool is stunning and true to it's photos, the gym facilities are great. The location is very good to access the beach. We had an uncomfortable first day breakfast as the staff member kept telling us our breakfast was not included en though I knew it was. I said we would check but he kept interrupting us whilst I was eating. he even escorted us to the front desk straight after and just laughed nervously throughout. sure enough my breakfast was included. This was unprofessional. Also the bar was mostly closed despite saying it was 24 hour dinning.... I'm sure this hotel is fabulous in the summer but this time of year there is hardly anything to do in the location. you must travel an hour or so to all tourist attractions.
- Brezo_R (8/5): Family holiday - Stayed for 4 nights at Hilton Dalian for a short summer holiday.The hotel itself and premises are very well maintained.we booked a junior suite and it was surprisingly big with living room, dining place, sleeping room and huge bathroom/All amenities included were enough for our needs.The hotel does not have a private beach,so you would need to choose left side as a rocky beach while right side is with sand.Breakfast was varied enough for our taste, the only negative point for our stay was that there is a waiting time no matter what time you go and that the handling of people coming is chaotic.Evenings at the bar with a live singer was also welcomed.In general a very good hotel which we would recommend if you want to beach time
- yifanfang (10/5): Appreciation letter regarding my stay at Hilton Dalian Golden Pebble Beach Resort - I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the service and care I received at Hilton Dalian Golden Pebble Beach Resort from 1/1/2022 to 1/3/2022. I have been a regular guest at the resort ever since its opening in 2018. This time I booked the stay to celebrate my father's 60th birthday and I wanted it to be perfect. Your staff have made the stay one of our most unforgettable trips ever. In particular, Diana Wang, Jason Yang and Irisa Wang have been very helpful and responsive ever since the reservation process. They tried their best to accommodate our preferences and managed to prepare a beautifully decorated room even when my parents arrived earlier than the scheduled check in time. Moreover, Xiaozhu Lv at the onsite Chinese restaurant Qingya, greeted us warmly every time in person and checked in regularly to make sure we were happy with the food and service. As a loyal Hilton customer, I have visited a number of Hilton sites around the world and I am very confident to say that Hilton Dalian Golden Pebble Beach Resort is top-notch. We have already decided to return for this year's Spring Festival, which will be less than one month from now.
- Hui (10/5): We'll Be Back! - My wife and I live in Dalian and we enjoy staying at local hotels, especially since the pandemic. We had never stayed at the Golden Pebble Beach area, a part of the Dalian Development Zone, so we decided to make the short trip. The Hilton is massive and is billed as a resort. It certainly has a resort air to it. The photo doesn't really show that the hotel faces the ocean and is just a short walk to the beach. All the rooms have a balcony with a seating area and an overhang providing shade. Our room was spacious and clean. The Hilton promises disinfection of everything, so there are stickers showing what had been specially cleaned, including the tv remote. Even the doors are "sealed" with a disinfection sticker. The staff are especially helpful and friendly. The breakfast was pricey and just average as far as hotel breakfasts go. The Executive lounge had an afternoon tea with petite fours and a Happy Hour with a very decent selection of side dishes--enough to skip dinner. The gym and pool were good though the locker rooms were cramped. Before we left, we had a look at the brand new Hard Rock Hotel right next door. Next time we come to Golden Pebble Beach, we will stay at the Hilton and visit the Hard Rock and then make a hasty retreat back to the more sedate Hilton.

Two things weren’t so pleasant took place: 1. The menu said room service should be available 24/7, but I had to order food from elsewhere at 1 am; 2. The bath tub was not clean. It was covered by those little black dust. I had to clean it first before using it. But other than those, it was a good stay!
- yriusa (10/5): Excellent Hotel... NEVER book with ctrip - The hotel and services are awesome and beyond my expectation. The problem is with ctrip, after I booked the hotel with Ctrip 583CNY upon arrival I decided to stay one more night because the hotel is awesome and very nice place to spend a holiday in. Although the hotel accepted the extension, they advised me to contact ctrip to confirm the booking of the extension and ctrip agent advised me to contact the hotel if they agree, then it is okay. However, the hotel requested only from ctrip to mention the extension on the order, nothing more ... Ctrip refused and asked the hotel to charge me normally as 1066CNY per night. Ctrip service is as low as they will never solve your problem and won't even try to, unless you insist. I had paid the two nights at the hotel, but the agent kept asking me "I suggest you to go to another affordable hotel" so it was not only impolite and rude to say so, but also dumb that we had to explain the issue more than once in two different languages (English and Chinese) but still did not get it until repeated it for the forth time in 1.2.3. steps. The most interesting thing it was 13:00 China time and there was no supervisors on the floor, can you imagine the agent are providing services without a leader to back her up. Ctrip is the worst service, prices and experience I had ever seen.
- pitalice (10/5): Castle on the hill - This is a beautiful resort with very convenient access to the beach. The proximity to the beach makes it a perfect place for a summer vacation. This said, it is not surprising that occupancy was very low on my business trip in cold January. But this doesn’t mean that management would be neglected in this time. The resort makes a very professional impression from checkin to checkout. The rooms are really nice, as you can see from the photos they are quite big and provide cozy accommodation. The deluxe rooms come with a a balcony and sea view from where you can see the beautiful sunrise. And the A/C is working great, so after a stay on the cold balcony, a very warm and welcoming cozy room awaits you. I had a great stay in the new booking resort and will definitely come again when on a trip here.

- geelongexpat (10/5): Spectacular - First of all, this hotel is a bit of a task to get to. You need to take line 3 to golden pebble beach station and then a cheap taxi to the hotel. From the airport and downtown Dalian this is easy. From other parts of the city including North Dalian station you will need to take a taxi to the metro. Get a SIM card so that you can call the hotel and get the concierge to explain directions to the cabbie. However, once you arrive The hotel grounds here are spectacular. The design is based on a castle and it sits on a cliff face. Hilton has gone overboard with the logo either so it looks really pretty. I was upgraded to an executive room as a gold member. The room was very spacious and had a great view of the sunset. The bathroom was massive as well. Lots of power ports too. There is no specific executive lounge but being allowed to dine at the dinner buffet certainly made up for it. The food was tasty and gluttonous. Service was great as well from all departments. I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

The reason that I have a favorable opinion of the place was the English speaking staff that I came in contact with. This hotel is new so I think with some time and more experience the management will be able to iron out the wrinkles. In conclusion, I would stay at this hotel again.

My mom and I had to switch 2 rooms within hours because of issues with the rooms . Staff doesn't know much about property and calls their engineers frequently when issues arise. My last day, overnight they had loud music playing in the garden that messed up my sleep .I would not recommend this dump to anyone
- Kenaya (2/5): Terrible experience. Crappy resort - First off all, this resort is 1 1/2 away from the airport , so if you want to be semi near it , don't stay here. My mom and I had such a bad experience with this hotel. They switched us to different rooms 2 times within hours because of issues with the rooms . They offered to upgrade our room and allowed me to have an executive suite and have the ability to have unlimited free snacks and drinks . I was happy with this , until I went and got snacks and was scolded by the assistant manager. I had only had 2 cookise earlier that day...and when I went back hours later to get a small salad and small pastry the assistant manager said " you are coming back for more ?" when the offer said unlimited and I didn't even have much! I was so embarrassed. The hotel is too new to have so many issues. They call the engineers about everything because the staff doesn't know basic details to help you. This stay was a nightmare and I would never stay here again. I was told by management before I left , that they would refund me for march 4th because I left they hotel, and told me to contact hotels.com so I could get a refund once I returned home . When I got home , I got a run around and all of the sudden they couldn't get a manager to approve the refund , when there are several walking around that crappy "resort" all day. I wouldn't stay at that place ever again. even if it was free

There was no lingering smoke smell as is common with many Chinese hotels. Many of the staff member spoke English which was very helpful. The service was excellent. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The hotel is not near centre town at all but is on a beautiful beach in the tourist area. I stayed in November so the beach was closed but in the summer, I imagine it is awesome!

- mpcliff (10/5): Absolutely Gorgeous Resort, Highly Recommended - We had been wanting to explore more of mainland China, and searched Hilton for resorts there. We chose this resort for its location and the fact that it was very new. We were not disappointed! We stayed 4 nights, and staff were very attentive, even though is was obvious English was not their first language. Everything in the resort was new and first class. As a Diamond member, we were offered an upgrade before we even arrived and there was a fruit platter in the room. Breakfast was very comprehensive with lots of Western and Asian choices. Wendy and Kaya in the Executive Lounge consistently remembered our preferences and were very helpful. The lounge offered afternoon tea, and the evening lounge offerings were enough for us to have our meal there. Coco was so sweet to offer us a little going away gift of chocolate candies, and Randy, the Concierge, helped us arrange a taxi back to the airport. We were obviously there in the off season, so occupancy was lower, which we enjoyed. The pool was beautiful, (though the hot tub was not working...which was unfortunate), and we used the fitness room on several occasions. There was work being done in the courtyard, and again, we can guess they saved this for the off season, so there was a bit of construction noise. This is a massive facility, with a men's lounge, a library (I wanted to donate English books!), several restaurants, a kid's room, a grand ballroom, and so much more. The resort sits on a peninsula/small cliff jutting into the Yellow Sea, with beaches on either side. We spent several afternoons walking the beach, looking for seashells. The beach is only a short walk away. Overall, a wonderful stay. If you are going to be in Dalian, for business or pleasure, this is THE PLACE to stay!!

Outside, it looks like a palace. The most beautiful part inside is the view o Jinshitan beach from the bedroom. The pool is beautiful but not big. The all you can eat Western style restaurant is over 300 RMB per person and does not open until six.
- RobGong (10/5): Another castle in DL - Hotel is gigantic, compared with those ghetto Hiltons in US, this property is a fairytale castle. I can imagine that staff has undergone intensive training, very friendly, dedicated and welcoming. Some lack experience tho. Most new hotel staff experience an improving curve in a few months time. Given time, so shall them. Rooms are well appointed with Roman decor style. Bay windows overlooking the ocean in the room is a bonus. Bathtub is huge, kid would love it. I like the idea of the laminated floor without the carpet. For families would go to the beach when staying at the property and inevitably come back with sands. Woulda been nasty if soaked all over carpet floor. Speaking of the beach, contrary to popular belief, it’s not really by the hotel. And Hilton does NOT have a private beach here. And the beach near the hotel (5 to 10 min walking distance) is poorly managed by local fishermen association. Seriously, DL has some of the ugliest beaches known to mankind. I’d highly recommend you stay in house while you are here cuz the pool and the kids club are amazing. The hotel serves quality buffet three meals a day. If you are an expat, you might find the buffet Chinese people go crazy about a bit overwhelming with choices of stuff you’d never think of in your wildest dreams. i.e. live octopus and BBQ baby pig that looks exactly like a baby pig. You can always ask for an a la carte menu and get away easily with your favorite burgers or pizzas. Again, this is a paradise you’ll love for family getaways. I’d go in the winter next time to avoid the crowds, when you get treated better with way lower room rates.

The greatest part is there are ocean views from almost every angle! As a new resort all the staff are surprisingly well trained, friendly and attend to your needs immediately. As a Hilton diamond member there’s a lounge open for breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour, it’s a good size lounge with good food and fantastic service! I would like to have a special thank to all the staff there for the hospitality. If to be really picky I’ll think the resort is a bit isolated, no easy access to shops or convenient store, and it’s a bit disappointing that beach access is not as easy as I imagined, the resort is right by the ocean but it took me quite some walk to really get on the sand. Overall it’s no question a hotel worth recommended. I’ll be back for my next Dalian trip.
