• Lauren (9/5): Central location, comfortable beds, and hospitable staff. - Hôtel was in a central location in Amsterdam amidst plenty of restaurants, small shops, and cafes. Th staff was hospitable and kind. The deluxe room was clean, spacious, and had a lovely view of the garden courtyard. Would highly recommend Hotel Mercier, and we plan to stay at the property again for future trips!

Smooth check in process. The nearby church bells ring at night - if you are a light sleeper you might want ear plugs.

• Kate Schriner (6/5): Great staff, expensive meh on most everything else. - Great staff! Breakfast was discounted midweek to 11euro/person, and delicious! Carpet looked dirty. No door on the shower room. The sewage smell was intense from the shower drain and we had to cover with a towel. There was also a block the hotel had put on the drain that caused flooding because no one mentioned it or that we should remove prior to showering.
• jalovelace (8/5): Quiet location close to Amsterdam sights - Our travel agent booked this for us. It is within walking distance of canals and the Central Square. It is about 30 minutes walk from the train station. It is clean and quiet and the breakfast buffet was good.. The bed was very comfortable and the AC worked, as the window was not operable. The bathroom is different in there is a toilet room and a shower room. The Shower room did not have a door, which I would have preferred.

• Isabelle (8/5): Gezellig en rustig gelegen hotel - Heel rustig ‘s nachts, gezellige kamer, goeie douche, dagelijkse kamerservice, moooe ruime ontbijtzaal, vriendelijk personeel. Raam naar buiten kan niet open, hoofdkussens te hoog en dus oncomfortabel, nep-nespresso capsules die slecht werken met de nespressomachine op de kamer.
• Christi (5/5): The location was good. - The morning staff and chefs were incredibly warm and welcoming. I had a guest with celiac disease, and they went out of their way to accommodate them, which was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the rooms was very disappointing. Although housekeeping serviced the room, it seemed that only the bed was made and fresh towels were provided. There was visible dust on every surface, which made the room feel poorly maintained. I also have photos documenting the condition. Dust like this doesn’t take a day to accumulate, it takes a while, so it was obvious that the room wasn’t cleaned properly.

• Renwei (5/5): Horrible value. - Location - fabulous. The staff? Less than desirable; to be specific, the manager. Rude and impatient with my very very old parents. My parents checked in a night before I did, so I wasn't able to help them. Their English isn't great and they're super old. The staff checked them into what seems like an overflow room? You have to travel through the dining room, out the back, past a bunch of unused and stored tables and chairs, to a narrow staircase, to the room. The room itself had stairs going up and immediately hitting the bed. The bathroom was slightly off to the left of the top of the stairs, so that when you opened the bathroom door, it hit the bed, and you had to scoot around the door WITHOUT falling down the stairs. My parents were SO freaked that they would fall in the middle of night going to the bathroom that they kept the lights on all night. They asked the next day to move rooms, but the manager was being incredibly rude. By the time I got there, I was extremely disappointed that they put my parents in danger - and he completely denied any danger. It was wild to me. I'm not an unreasonable or rude person and if he had just apologized and made things right, this wouldn't have been an issue at all. Instead, it turned into a ton of back and forth. On top of this issue, the breakfast every morning that we paid EXTRA for was always understaffed and short on items. We could barely get bread or eggs and we'd arrive with plenty of time before breakfast ended. The rooms were old, TINY, and not cleaned so well (weird colors/marks on walls?) - and for the price we paid, I'm surprised they didn't have slippers or even lotions/gels! I'm really disappointed in this hotel - would not recommend. The only redeeming quality is the location.

Pulizia buona Purtroppo questa esperienza mi lascia un certo amaro in bocca, soprattutto perché si tratta della terza volta che soggiorno in questa struttura, dalla quale mi sarei aspettato maggiore attenzione. Il check-in ha richiesto circa 25 minuti, un’attesa piuttosto lunga. Nel frattempo mi è stato chiesto di accomodarmi nel lounge bar: ho dato per scontato che l’attesa fosse accompagnata da una piccola cortesia, ma così non è stato. La bevanda è stata pagata a prezzo tutt’altro che modico e, al momento di chiedere se potesse essere addebitata sul conto della camera, mi è stato risposto con un secco e definitivo “no”: pagamento immediato, senza alcuna flessibilità. Rientrando in hotel verso le 23:15, ho chiesto se fosse possibile accedere al bar, ma mi è stato comunicato che era già chiuso. Considerato che in camera non era presente il frigobar – una mancanza che trovo francamente imbarazzante per una struttura di questo livello – ho chiesto se fosse possibile avere almeno dell’acqua. Mi è stato indicato un boccione di acqua e limone, quasi vuoto, a disposizione di tutti. Conclusione inevitabile: viva l’acqua del rubinetto. Peccato, perché piccoli gesti di attenzione fanno spesso la differenza, soprattutto per chi torna più volte e sceglie una struttura confidando in un servizio adeguato. Questa volta, purtroppo, le aspettative non sono state soddisfatte.

Did have air con but I can’t sleep with noise so was pretty hot. However we were only outside 5th floor so that’s probably why I couldn’t open it and it didn’t bother my husband at all

• Penny (5/5): I was not impressed with the stay though the location was excellent - Its location and ambience My daughter arrived before me and was not given entry to the room despite full pamper and a pre-check-in by me with follow up emails to say that shouldn’t room be available upon her arrival (which it was ) I would like her to have entry. She was told without my passport details that was not possible. Eventually they let her in Additionally, I was extremely displeased with the no door on bathroom situation. This is far from ideal for non-couples! Wouldn’t stay there again for this reason alone The “fridge” in cabinet did not keep cool. Inasked if this could be fixed and my request ignored In our final night the cleaning service was less than impressive. The beds were roughly pilled up and not really made with the under sheets both not smoothed and pulled up over the matteees and the beds looking like the person making them could not be bothered. The towels on the last two nights were not absorbent. Perhaps they were new towels than had not been pre washed. Showers should contain some form of shelving so it is not necessary to bend down each time to use shower products For the price I would have expected more

• wtoddvaught (6/5): Looks Great - Functionality and Cleanliness Lack - Great location. Great aesthetics. Great common areas like lobby, restaurant and bar. The room we had suffered from poor design lacking good lighting, writing surfaces, oversize furniture, etc. The room was also worn and dirty for the price we paid.

• ELIZABETH (9/5): Beautiful hotel in a great location - Beautiful reception, lounge & bar area and we enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel was in a great location down a quiet side street but so near to the main canals The room was a little small but still very comfortable
• Chris (9/5): - The Hotel is in a great location, very quiet and within easy walking of Dam Sq. The Hotel was Clean the staff friendly and Safe. The Breakfast was acceptable. Overall a really nice stay. A Toaster for Breakfast, and a safe in the room that worked.

• Jeannie (9/5): Very enjoyable - The room was very comfortable. The staff are all lovely. It's an attractive hotel and easy to get to. You can walk everywhere, or take the metro. There could have been somewhere to put clothes to take them out of my suitcase. There were 4 hangers on a hook on the wall. Also dining at the hotel was limited for vegan and GF, though there's plenty of restaurants and coffee shops in the area.
• Leah (8/5): Lovely spot in good Amsterdam location. - Good location, close to shopping and eating in the canal areas. Comfy king size bed, good shower, good blackout curtains to make it dark at night. Nice decor and the bar is a good spot to have a drink. I wish the room was a little bigger, pretty tight from the bed to the wall. Heated towel bar would be nice in the bathroom.

• SKK132 (10/5): Excellent and attentive service - We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the mercier in Amsterdam. The hotel is lovely but what really makes it special is the staff and the service. From the moment we arrived to the day we checked out the service never faltered. Our room was comfortable and clean and the breakasts were so delicious with a such a great choice.
• Eric (8/5): Personnel désagréable - L emplacement Le restaurant exceptionnel Le personnel globalement désagréable, qui n'est pas au niveau attendu dans un hotel de ce type J ai du payer mon petit déjeuner croissant en main avant de pouvoir le continuer. Il y a de très bons restaurants aux alentours immediat de l hotel.
• Douglas (8/5): A very good hotel in general but spoilt by the discomforts. - The hotel has a very good location and the room was a good size and well appointed. The useless air conditioning/heating which left us freezing for the first two nights and sweating for the last two nights. Nobody at the hotel could remedy the problem.

• paultB620WX (6/5): Reasonable - Location was good, Our room was small, no cuboards for clothes to hang, breakfast was ok, nothing great, very expensive to pay separately if that was only choice No staff to serve drinks in bar in evening as there too busy in resturant Staff were friendly to a point would i return ? would try elesewhere first , but would at a stretch. will say the additional tourist tax was ajoke, really expensive on top of the stay £66 for 3 days
• Jeannine (7/5): Tolle Lage und Zimmer ok, man muss sich darauf einstellen dass die Zimmer sehr klein sein können - Sehr zentral und super schön eingerichtet! und sehr sauber plus Reinigungspersonal war extrem freundlich & hilfsbereit Wir waren mit Freunden dort - gleiche Zimmerkategorie gebucht aber halb so gross plus ein Zweibettzimmer - trotz zusätzlichem Aufpreis unsererseits vor Ort. Wir sind vor ihnen eingecheckt und als ich nachfragte ob wir ein schöneres Zimmer haben könnten wurde ich halb ausgelacht an der Reception und es sei dasselbe Zimmer und nicht kleiner usw. War sehr entäuschend!
