• Andrew (10/5): Best accommodation in Japan over our 12 day trip - Very centrally located in Kyoto where lots is within walking distance and metro stations, we couldnt have picked a better location. Rooms are very spacious and luxurious, we really didnt want for anything. We loved the shower as it was big and dont feel cramped like so many other places. The staff were super and the room was serviced daily. Overall such an incredible experience and very grateful, it was the best accommodation we had over a 12 day visit to Japan. cupboard space is a bit limited and the temperature of the water could be 1-2 degree's warmer for the shower. Nothing else we could really mention.

I loved the restaurants, cafes and bars nearby but the area still felt very quiet and comfortable. Staff was extremely kind and helpful, especially the front desk gentleman (Tariq I believe his name is). Felt right at home! No complaints!

Il est situé dans un endroit calme mais suffisamment animé pour qu'on ait qu'à marcher 5 minutes pour trouver d'excellents restaurants et coffee shop. La chambre était méga confortable avec une très belle vue et très calme. Mais surtout, le personnel de l'hôtel est vraiment ce qui fait la différence.? Jenny, Samiya et Tarek font tout pour rendre votre séjour idéal. Ils sont très professionnels, à l'écoute. J'ai passé trois nuits dans l'hôtel et ce n'était pas suffisant. Je reviendrai sans hésiter. We might have had a good rate am not sure but it was excellent value for money. The breakfast was limited and you we were restricted to a time slot. Shame as otherwise I would really recommend this hotel.

La chambre très confortable et à la décoration soignée,la salle de bain avec la baignoire à jets, l'amabilité du personnel, le quartier à la fois central et tranquille. Si vraiment on veut trouver quelque chose à redire, le fromage et le jambon servis au petit déjeuner ne sont pas à la hauteur du reste des prestations.
• Berthold (10/5): - Das Hotelzimmer war sehr geräumig und hatte eine hochwertige Ausstatung. Besonders gefallen hat uns dass uns jeden Morgen das Frühstück ins Zimmer gebracht wurde. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Lage des Hotels ist in einer sehr ruhigen Seitenstrasse nicht weit weg von verschiedenen Attraktionen.

Everything about this place is perfect, from the matcha tea on arrival, to the beautiful staff & location. A very cool neighbourhood with a very local feel, great restaurants in & around the hotel itself & walking distance to pretty much everywhere. We were able to have great breakfasts in the room as well, which was a great way to start the day. An absolute must stay! N/A

We took a taxi from the train, other than that everything is in walking distance including a very cool street with an Amazing bakery & a cool restaurant Charli which we ate at on our last night. The Staff are incredible & very happy to do anything for you. The room was such a nice change from the tiny ones in Tokyo & as we were staying 5 nights it was like a home away from home. Very cool part of town, definitely recommend! N/A

• Robot6 (10/5): Comfort and Convenience - A delightful stay at the Kyoto Shimmachi Rokkaku! Two nights of comfort and convenience after my husband’s Toyko marathon! Recommended by another couple who were also staying there, we were within short walk to everywhere!! In 15 minutes, we were at Nijo Castle, the Imperial Gardens and the subway to the Fushimi district for sake tasting!

• AshDM (10/5): Lovely hotel with friendly service, spacious rooms, and fabulous bathrooms! - We loved this hotel! It was small, quaint, friendly, convenient, and sooo comfortable. The room was spacious and immaculate. The bed was dreamy, and the service was above and beyond. The BEST part of our room was the bathroom. The shower and tub were so relaxing. I’m trying to figure out out to replicate it in our home! The staff was so kind. I left my cell phone on the train and it ended up in Osaka. The desk clerk was wonderful in helping me. She called the lost and found office at the station for me and located my phone! I was able to travel to Osaka the next day and retrieve my phone. The hotel is convenient to the subway station, restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend the Kyoto Shimmachi Rokkaku Hotel.

• andrew (10/5): Short stay in Kyoto - Extremely attentive and courteous staff in a very comfortable, clean and quiet hotel. A comfortable bed in a good sized room with a very spacious shower. The breakfast was delivered extremely promptly (with a ten minute phone reminder) and was delicious. Great location with only a short walk to local amenities, we very much enjoyed our stay here. Thank you very much.

• Marin (9/5): Unique stay in Kyoto - Excellent bed, pillows, sheets, towels. The quality is really high also in terms of forniture and lightenings. Bottles of water given every day. Lovely and helpful staff. Two free drinks offered. A bit far from city center (20’ by foot from main attractions) but well surrounded by bus stops. The breakfast is not buffet but room service, can be a bit repetitive if you stay more days.

• 757fional (10/5): Wonderful small hotel in great location. - Wonderful small hotel. Lovely location - quiet street but very central and lots of good restaurants and shopping close by. Very professional staff - friendly, attentive and very helpful. Room was great, particularly large by Japanese standards. Very comfortable bed and well appointed combined bath and shower room. Breakfast (very good) served in room. Hotel was a real find and would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

Så havde det nok været bedre at få den nede i foyen

• Helen (10/5): My Favourite Hotel (stayed in 10) - I am still dreaming of the bed in this gorgeous boutique hotel. It was so comfortable, I didn't want to get up in the morning. From arrival, the hotel was perfect. The staff were lovely, welcoming us with a hot towel and matcha drink. The room was large, comfortable and the jacuzzi bath/shower, seperate from the toilet was a luxury we hadn't had much round Japan. The continental breakfast served in our room was a lovely touch. The hotel is in a really nice neighbourhood with lots of little independent shops, cafes and restaurants. I wish we had planned more than two nights in Kyoto. Leaving.
