Guest Reviews
- Mary T (8/5): - Perfect location
Bed very comfy
- Blaine Tasa (10/5): Wonderful place to stay! - Really enjoyed our stay here. It was easy to find from the bus station. It's next to the city wall. Our bedroom and bathroom were lovely. Breakfast was great. I'd most definitely stay here again.
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent excellent excellent!!! - Everything top class location and so clean and great comfort decor was beautiful and so was the breakfast There wasn’t anything too dislike about 10/10
- Joshua (10/5): Great location, good value for money, and a comfortable room. - Great location on Artillery Street located opposite the city walls, very accessible by foot. Location is central, with a short uphill walk to or from most nearby amenities such as the Foyleside shopping centre, the Diamond, and the Waterloo Street area. Property was very clean, bright, and warm. Checking in and out was easy. Host was very friendly and helpful, offering a simple but delicious breakfast and plenty of fresh coffee! Nothing to fault here.
- Luc (7/5): Zoals beoordeeld - Locatie en gastheer Status onderhoud
- Katrina (10/5): -

- Danny (10/5): - Great location right in the city. All essentials were provided. We were on the third floor, but it wasn't a problem.
- Stanley (8/5): Kieran was a great host and the townhouse was perfect location for a short stay in Derry - Kieran was an excellent host and did a great job providing extra helpful info like where to park close by. Bedding was very comfortable and the location was top notch. Literally right next to the wall. Near great restaurants. Meet the Peace Bridge It would have been great to have the correct code to the door to get in but that was resolved fairly quickly so not a big deal.
- Théo (9/5): -
- Prof. Dr. Lars (5/5): - Lage an der Stadtmauer Frühstück besser ausfallen lassen
- Sandra (8/5): Great accomodation right near the city walls and very helpful host - Lovely little accomodation right on the city walls and gate with easy access and good communication. Room was beautifully decorated and friendly breakfast room and service Room a little small for all our suitcaeses

- Kevin (10/5): - Attentive host and in a great location. Free breakfast which was appreciated.
- Julia (8/5): Pleasant one night stay. - In the heart of the city centre. Good value. Clean and tidy. Good basic level continental breakfast of cereal, toast, juice tea etc on a semi help yourself basis.
- Thomas (3/5): I would not recommend a stay, we deserve a rebate. - Convenient but up a steep hill Never saw owner. The room was tired. No breakfast was served but paid for.On the third floor and very narrow to haul up suitcases
- cliff (9/5): - Kieran the host was very friendly and helpful, even though we arrived early he let us deposit our bags in the room and gave us tips and directions
Breakfast ( Continental) was good and had all you would expect.
Location is excellent for visiting the city.
Stairs might not suit all,it wasn't a problem for us ( we were on the top floor ) but otherwise would definitely recommend.
- Weir (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): - Space was a bit small but was adequate and this was understandable given staying inside a medieval walled city.
- Sandra (8/5): A lovely, small boutique inn right situated right on the city walls for those who like the nonstandard hotel rooms. - Lovely boutique townhouse with great location. Not a dislike, but be prepared to carry luggage up several flights of stairs if you are on the top floor.
- Sandra (4/5): Disappointing - Location Room was tired in need of TLC. Broken lamp, no plug in sink, no stirrer for drink, etc.
- Mary (10/5): A short and memorable stay close to the Derry wall - The Location, the accommodation, great choices at breakfast, a friendly, helpful host.
- Elizabeth (10/5): A very enjoyable stay. - The location, near to the City Centre and the Walls was perfect. The room was very comfortable and the facilities were very good. Kieran was a genial host and nothing was too much trouble.

- colin (10/5): The Number 8 townhouse made our stay in derry one to remember - Breakfest was brillent and such a wide variety of food and top notch quality
- Heather (9/5): Welcoming host; perfect location - Kieran was a lovely host and the property is perfectly situated to explore the walled city. Parking is a bit tricky but we were lucky to find onstreet parking near the property.
- Tom (10/5): Derry has an interesting history. - Small but comfy, quiet room. Easy walk to everything.
- Heather (9/5): Welcoming historic property on the wall. - Kieran made us feel very welcome and while the room was a bit tight for three, beds were comfortable. Property is directly across the street from the city wall. Nice breakfast. Parking is a bit tricky but we were fortunate to find spots close by.

- David (6/5): The facility has no staff on site and after arriving and being unable to gain entry due to a passcode lock. We eventuall - Lovely period rooms that were very comfortable on a quiet street. No on site staff. The information given was that reception was manned until 6pm.
If the property made it clear that it would be a self check in I would have been more diligent in checking messages for updates on instructions. Once contact was established Keiran was very helpful but I get the feeling he may be overworked.
- Morvern (10/5): Perfect guesthouse experience - As well as the location being ideal, Kieran was a great host. The family room was ideal for our needs - warm, spacious with a very comfortable beds. Breakfast was a straightforward but quality selection and all we needed to start our day. We'll definitely be back. Nothing! We'd have happily stayed longer.
- Kate (6/5): - The location was perfect for the city The twin room beds were very uncomfortable. Mattresses definitely need changing. One of the windows didn't close as the catch had broken and had not been replaced. Not good when windy.
The bathroom was ridiculously small. The toilet was wobbly, the flush button was broken, and the systum carried on dripping after flushing. The sink did not have a plug, so a dirty pipe was seen.
- Deborah (5/5): Tiny room was ok for 1 night sleep as we traveled through. - Location was super. Wall path, directly across from townhouse. & restaurants & pubs walking distance The view of rundown vacant buildings outside our room window was unpleasant & made us feel unsafe.
- Eladio (8/5): - Ubicación - Limpieza Miy pequeña la habitación.
- Sean Beecher (10/5): -
- Valentina (10/5): -
- Angelika (10/5): -
- Rinal (9/5): Fantastic, good value for money - The service was fantastic, lovely breakfast, clean room, location was ok but great value for money! Special thanks to Kieran for looking after.
- James (8/5): - Location, right beside the Walls, comfortable bed, tea and coffee in the room, and the included continental breakfast, hosted by Kieran the owner. Shower was a little cool, windows didn't lock shut in my room, but wasn't a problem
- David (8/5): -
- peter (10/5): - The host + the location.
- Sharon (10/5): Great location, venue and host. Would recommend - It’s quirky and cosy. Whilst a little worn that didn’t detract from our satisfaction. Great location in Derry and bedrooms at the front have a great view of the city wall.
- Annie (10/5): Perfect spot for shopping & pubs/ restaurants - Lovely room & staff very well situated
- Marcus (8/5): - Very clean Bit noisey if other guest are moving about in the night.
- Webb (9/5): Nr.8 - Excellent location and Kieran is such a great person. Recommended Location
- Ní Chnáimhsí (9/5): -
- ian (10/5): -
- Tracy (8/5): - Comfortable with a great location Very noisy plumbing. Could have done with some alternative milk at breakfast.
- James (8/5): - It's located beside the city walls. It's a 5 room guest house and not a generic hotel chain.
- Robert (7/5): We got a very good impression of Derry as a place to visit. Excellent tour guide. Lovely staff in Gu - Breakfast was fine. Location was excellent, everything we wanted to see was in easy walking distance. No plug for the bathroom sink. Otherwise the bathroom and bedroom were fine. A second chair would have been useful.
- Chloe (9/5): - Location and staff were incredible! Beds were a bit too hard and no elevators
- Iseult (9/5): Great place to stay within the city walls - Great location, friendly owner, house has lots of character, strong coffee with breakfast
- Maria (10/5): If you want to go to Derry and discover but still feel at home, this is the right place. - Breakfast was really nice, to sit down and start the day the right way. The room was incredible and I felt like a princess amongst the amazing decor and interior design. Everything about the stay was great. The room was nice and warm and it had a nice view over the walls and part of the city. Kieran was the kindest person to me, when my plans changed due to unfortunate and unexpected changes. I will definetly come back! There is nothing negative to say

- Sarah (8/5): Gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis - Gute, Zentrumsnahe Lage
- Lidiya (7/5): - Great location
- Damian (10/5): - Perfect location, fair price and clean. Couldn't fault anything. Second time staying in last 5 years. Will definitely come back. Host very accommodating. 10/10
- melinda (10/5): Fantastic! - Everything was fantastic!
Communication was clear and really helpful for check-in and parking.
The location is central.
The room was big, clean and comfortable, with lovely touches.
Breakfast was great the next morning, and Kieran the host was really friendly and funny.
Highly recommend 😊
- Jean (9/5): -
- Tripp (9/5): -
- Emma 927 (10/5): Fabulous property and host - Great location, close to the Millennium Forum, Foyleside shopping centre etc. Kieran is a fabulous host, checking in to ensure everything is OK. Always our first choice when staying in Derry 😊
- James (10/5): - Without becoming too nostalgic, it was such a pleasure to stay in a guest house that reminds you of times gone by. Full of charm and warmth in every way, from the decor to the charming host, it was perfect. Great breakfast and excellent location, you can't ask for anymore!
- Akaas (10/5): - The Aura No Parking Space
- luke (10/5): -
- todd (10/5): Value for money- superb! - Great location. Kieran was a terrific host as well.
Will return.
- Ciara (10/5): - Great location
- Irene (9/5): - Perfect location in an historic building. Charming host Kieran. Thank you.
- Oriana (9/5): Bellissima camera, ben arredata, con tutti i comfort e centralissima. - Camera molto confortevole. Pulizia eccellente.
- Austin (9/5): - Location staff breakfast room Nothing
- Darragh (10/5): - Location was absolutely phenomenal! To have the walls of Derry quite literally at the front door made for wonderful access to one of the most iconic features of a great city. Likewise to be so close to the city centre, a stonesthrow from the main shopping ammenities, bus station, pubs and restaurants, couldn't fault it. All for an exceptionally reasonable price too!
- Clodagh (10/5): -
- Stiofán (8/5): Is fear an-cneasta is ea Kieran agus teach alaínn é chun caitheamh tharr oíche - Bhí an seomra go deas, ag féachaint amach ar na fallaí. Bhí an seomra glan agus an teas ag rith. An compóirdeach. D'anneoin go fuair mé fáilte mór ar maidin, ní raibh sé soléír cad a bhí ar fáil don bricfeasta.
- Chinasa (8/5): - The breakfast was excellent. There were varieties to chose from. Appetizers and desserts were available. I advice that the booking receipt should bear the room number for early information and clarity .
- SYLVESTER (10/5): Reasonable - Simplicity Nothing
- William (1/5): Not recommended. - Breakfast, albeit basic was acceptable. Bedroom had a filthy duvet, wife asked for it to be changed and host did but seemed to think that duvet was adequate, radiator in the bathroom missing from wall, serious crack in bathroom sink, also no plug in the sink and first night of 2 no hot water and no heating. Kettle in bedroom also horribly dirty on inside.
I also asked about the covered area out the back which is now not accessible, “problem with roof next door” was the answer I got back.
Having stayed in countless other properties in varying condition anyone staying here needs to be prepared for very basic accommodation. I would also have concerns regarding fire safety and escapes as a number of light bulbs all over the property were either not working or were missing, just not good enough.
I should say that the no hot water saga was due to drop in water pressure due to men working down the street, not so sure about that as I guess the water heater was turned off, host advised he would not be back until our first morning so hot water available then. I will conclude by saying so far I have sent 4 emails to Booking.com with photos attached of the photos on their site and my actual, light years different.
Also Booking.com has, as I write this still not replied to any of my emails. Pathetic.
- philip (8/5): - good area,plenty going on,would stay again all good
- Alistair Miller (10/5): Ate at 8 - Location..Location..Location Maybe a cooked breakfast rather than continental
- Eoin (10/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): - The location of Num 8 is fabulous, right on the walls, beautiful period property
Within walking distance of everything
Our host Kieran was fantastic and was very helpful and friendly
Spotlessly clean and a good choice at breakfast 😊
