Guest Reviews
- John (6/5): Watch the extra charges! - We arrived and were met by a grumpy young lady who was already disgruntled about being kept waiting 5 minutes. She then told us what to do if the electricity went off (which it didn't but clearly happens a lot) and showed us how to open the broken fridge dooe... She then asked for an unexpected 118 Euros for a cleaning fee and city taxes. I said I had paid in full already but she was adamant and said how this happens all the time when people have booked through Expedia or Hotels com that it is not very clear. The confirmation email does state this, but only at the very bottom... One if the reasons I booked this was that no additional charges at the hotel were shown. The Location is good, near the train station and historic centre. The apartment is spacious and the rooftop views are good.. A bit tatty in places, and a lot of stairs. Main bed excellent. Only one exit down several flights - no other fire exit, which given the comments about electricity was a worry!
- Hanne schonroch (6/5): ingen roof top øv - centralt beliggende ingen roof top og på 5 etage til fods. der skulle betales 70 euro efter til rengøring og det var meget sparsomt udstyret. der kommer vi vist ikke mere
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The power jumps twice in a night without us using any special electrical appliances. And 70 EURs for cleaning... in small prints?
- Barbara (10/5): Great apartment in downtown Florence - The apartment was wonderful. The location is just phenomenal and right in the heart of the city, just a few minute walk to Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi and the Duomo. Great way to explore Florence and walk around and see all the sites. It also has two good air conditioner units, one in the master and one in the main room. So it was great to come home to cold air. The checkin is easy and she met us with the key when we arrived and had good suggestions for food and gelato (you must go to the gelato shop across the nearest bridge to the apartment-even in Rome and FLorence none for its gelato this place finds a way to up the ante-long lines at 11 pm at night). A couple considerations. We had a car and had to park it at 31 euro per night (I think we find one nearby for 25 euro). So factor that in. But honestly Florence you don’t want a car anyway. We walked everywhere easily. And we drove up to Michelangelo Poazza on our way out of town. By way, go go go to the Pitti Palace. The Uffizi is great of course. But you want to shoot yourself fighting the lines and crowds. We paid a large sum to get private guides and even then you can’t really manage the museum well. So do the Iffizi by all means. But Pitti is excellent and has no lines, more art and you will really enjoy yourself. The other consideration is that the apartment is on the fourth floor. It’s Europe so get used to it. But just be prepared. Mostly only an issue on checkin and checkout with luggage.
