Guest Reviews
- Kara (10/5): -
- Kara (10/5): We had a great stay here on our our trip down to Brisbane and also on our return trip. Great halfway point between Macka - Pet friendly rooms and location is great to break up the long drive to Brisbane from Mackay
- Tony and Jackie (10/5): We have stopped here a few times and it is great the staff are very friendly and the beds are so com -
- Karina (10/5): Made to feel like a family friend visiting a private home. Superb. - Beautifully set out, love the front and back entrance. Great airflow.
- Jan (10/5): Enjoyable and clean facilities - Right next to the A1, ideal for our stopover.
Clean, big good rooms with a great bed and bathroom.
Good food for dinner and e very simple but good continental breakfast.
Other breakfast options available at extra cost
- David (9/5): I had a very comfortable overnight stay. - The location suited me as it was quiet and not far off the main highway. I went to the motel restaurant for dinner and enjoyed an excellent meal. They have an area where you can go with your pet. After dinner I enjoyed a glass of wine sitting near the outdoor fire on what was a fairly cool night. A serve yourself continental breakfast was included. A self serve coffee machine would be better than a bottle of instant coffee. That is the only suggestion I have as far as making any improvement goes.
- Nicole (10/5): - The food is absolutely divine, staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Beautiful place to stay.
- Mark (8/5): comfortable, relaxed and will stay again if in area. - Best bed we have had in many travels, so comfortable. Brekky more than enough with the continental menu. Placement just north of Miriam Vale is good, beautiful country feel and surrounds. Enjoyed a shared meal together after arrival. Mostly travellers are looking to save money if possible so maybe a few small meal options at 1/2 to 2/3 regular meal price. Good selection of drinks. Staff very helpful. Thank you. nothing to speak of.
- Ann-Marie (10/5): Loved every minute of my stay, will definitely stay again đŻ - What a hidden gem, quiet and tranquil. The staff are amazing. So clean too. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. OMG breakfast was the best, so many options with the cereal, bread and so many milks to choose from. Catered so well for gluten free. All was wonderful
- John (10/5): -
- Shirley (9/5): Wonderful - I loved the area , the spacious surroundings. The friendliness of the staff There was no downside of my stay except it wasnât long enough!!
- Cusack (9/5): A lovely visit. Hosts that take the time to talk to visitors. Really enjoyed it. Will recommend it to other travellers. - The feel - it was calm, homely and felt like you were a long way from the highway.
- Stephanie (8/5): -
- Ed (10/5): - The motel unit was well set out and comfortable. Our dogs had a great time running and playing in the large grassed front lawn. Perfect location. Nothing to not like, all good.
- Tamara (7/5): Great for dog owners - Easy off the highway for rest after long drives
well looked after The new owners have allowed dogs, unfortunately we wonât be staying again due to this as I have allergies.
Our stay saw a lot of dogs
- Brett (7/5): -
- Cynthia and Brian (10/5): Comfortable Clean and Convenient (with FREE Breakfast) - It was JUST amazing.. and exceeded my CCC measure stick! Is it Clean, Comfortable and Convenient!! The dinner was delicious and the FREE Breakfast even more so!! They even catered for my GF intolerance⊠We will be back.. đ€ Nothing!
- Erin (10/5): - Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating to me and my dog, even though booking messed up the booking - give them a call instead to book. lovely restaurant on sight which is pet friendly.
Beautiful view of the sunset over the ridge line.
- Candice (10/5): - Very welcoming and friendly.
Clean room, great views and good food.
Variety of activities for kids plus the pool was a nice way to wind down after a big day of driving.
- Gary n Lynne (9/5): -
- Darren (10/5): - stay again
- Michelle (7/5): - The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made our stay feel very welcoming. The views were stunning, and the beds were super comfortable. We also really enjoyed the food at the restaurant â it was delicious. A big plus was how accommodating they were with our dog, which made the trip even more enjoyable. We struggled to get much sleep the night we stayed due to the palm tree seeds falling onto the tin roof during the night.
Plus traffic noise.
- Pietro (9/5): Perfect location for a stop over during a road trip - Fabulous host, very kind and friendly. Breakfast included, very good restaurant to have a nice and calm dinner Everything was very good
- Guest (10/5): -
- Naomi (8/5): - A little gem of a stay midway to the Gold Coast from Nth Qld! Rooms were large with basic amenities. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was lovely, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome.
- Neil (10/5): - We especially liked the most very comfortable bed.
Resturant On site for dinnerand breakfast the next morning.
Most enjoyable stay. Thank youđđ
- Gluyas (10/5): A home away from home on the farm. - Every time we drive away from this property we feel like we are leaving home. If you are looking for a home away from home on your travels that is clean, homely, comfortable, welcoming, accomodating with beautiful home cooked meals - this is your place. We have loved our stay at Koorawatha Homestead every time. In fact, it keeps getting better and better. The beds are super comfy and rooms spotless. Fur babies are welcomed and you would never know an animal has been in the rooms. The rooms always smell fresh and clean. The sunsets you can capture at the back of the property are stunning. Being able to walk around the property and vege gardens make you feel as though you really belong. I have nothing to say but good things. You will not be disappointed. Having to leave
- Ian (10/5): - Perfect stop overnight for travelling north
- Verified traveler (10/5): A great place to stop. - We were greeted with smiles. Our room was lovely and clean. Chocolates were a nice touch too. I'm surprised that breakfast wasn't mentioned more prominently, but it was appreciated. Dinner was served promptly to our room.
- John (9/5): Great fun stop - New owners are updating and show care in the property and when engaging with guests. There was some road noise but had a great nights rest and enjoyed the cozy quaint atmosphere the owners have cultivated.

- MICHELE (10/5): Restful and delicious food - Great stop over between Central Queensland and Brisbane
Nice pool and fabulous food. Great views to the mountains
- John (10/5): A very convenient short stay when travelling - Convenience when travelling Nothing
- 40th birthday party (10/5): - Loved the little chocolate left on our towels, and was pleasantly surprised that breakfast was included.
- Lance (9/5): -
- Jon (8/5): Comfortable and reasonable value. - Great location for a stop-over on the way to Brisbane No major concerns
- Seru (8/5): We loved the room and everything but just not the steak and chicken snitzel - Continental Breakfast was awesome. Every hotel should be including breakfast in their rates as they're getting expensive these days Chicken snitzel was burnt and my rump steak was over done instead of medium rare and both food were expensive with very small portions. I was still very hungry after my meal. Not worth the price you pay for and you're much better off going out to eat at the Bororen hotel or better yet bring your own food
- M Dawai (10/5): - We love this place! First of all, we would like to say Thank You to the owner of this beautiful place who made our stop over a memorable one in QLD. My family travelled from WA, drove to Mackay upon touch down, upon return we booked this place along the way. The room was immaculate, I cannot fault it. The location was perfect, waking up with the view & seeing Kangaroos enjoying their habitat. We had a lovely breakfast & also got one of their home-made honey! What a treat from the owner. We highly recommend this place. Please do stay and support this awesome couple. đ«¶
- Fiona (8/5): Great comfortable stop, meals available, breakfast included - Nice comfy bed, quiet, room service , country outlook No hair dryer,
- Kate (10/5): - The beds were incredibly comfortable! Great on site restaurant. Meals were priced high and were smaller portions than expected for that price.
- Fiona (9/5): Great stop, just out of town.room service-nice meals. Easy access and parking , quiet but just off the highway which was - Clean, spacious, room service No hair dryer in room.
- Joan (7/5): - Location Shower Water issues annoying
- Tracy (10/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): -
- John (3/5): Very disappointing- wonât be back. - Close to highway Slippery floor with no bath mat. No hand-towel.
Steak was full of gristle and fat and was basically inedible. Comment from staff was âSorry about thatâ.
- Tina (9/5): Absolutely amazing location easy to find, staff were so friendly and accommodating, clean, tidy and comfortable and beau - It is a fantastic property, everything there, a great restaurant to eat and the family who owned it were so friendly and accommodating. Maybe a hair dryer would have been great but thatâs me being fussy.
- Christine (10/5): -
- Kerrie (10/5): Lovely country hospitality - Lovely country welcome just outside of a small town. No real noise from the highway and a gorgeous sunset - I'm sure they put on for us.
- Georgie (10/5): -
- Bernie (7/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): For a pet friendly motel it was very well managed. - Beautiful setting and continental breakfast included homemade marmalade and their honey. They forgot to leave towels in our room.
- Susannah (10/5): - We liked the ambiance and the scenic views of the surrounding hills .
- woodgate (10/5): -
- John (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Susannah (10/5): - A real gem of a place for weary travellers. Situated well back from main road with an emphasis on privacy, the individual units look out onto extensive lawns.
The unit was cozy and welcoming and being pet friendly was an added bonus for our Malchi pup.

- Della (8/5): Comfortable bed, good size room, lovely dinner - Very comfortable bed, good size room and we had a lovely dinner in the restaurant, with friendly staff / owners. The room charge included a continental breakfast. The internet was very slow and water pressure in our room was lacking.
- Cheryl (10/5): Amazing all-inclusive overnight stop for travellers - Fantastic and conveniently located motel. Very comfortable and far enough off the highway that traffic noise is no issue. This was our second visit, after staying 12 months ago and we will definitely stay again. Had a great dinner in their restaurant. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They have also been gradually renovating everything.
- Olivia (10/5): Half way point between Brisbane & Rockhampton - Great half way point between Brisbane & Rockhampton especially when leaving Brisbane at lunchtime. Easy to park with a trailer on and the restaurant was beautiful NA
- Guest (10/5): Lovely stay and staff! - Loved the dinner and free Brekky. The staff were amazing and so welcoming, nothing was a bother or problem for them. Room was a great size and well presented. - Ian (9/5): -
- cathy (10/5): Very comfortable and will stay again - Serenity with rural Surroundings, very clean and comfortable, fully air conditioned and complimentary continental breakfast, very welcoming manager/owner Nothing to fault
- Yvonne (8/5): - Lovely stay very comfortable and clean, loved that there is a back door to this motel, out to a stunning garden area, which we were able to walk across the lawn to the restaurant where we enjoyed a meal. Also has a pool in garden area. I also loved that on arriving the doors to motel were all open making it nice to enter with out odours of most motels, security doors were locked front and back.this is our second time staying here. Happy to recommend Was disappointed in the shower,in need of repair.
- Ashleigh (10/5): Great Stay! - Lovely spacious room. The room was very clean and looked over beautifully manicured gardens with mountains as a backdrop. The staff were very friendly and provided a lovely cooked breakfast!
- Purcell (10/5): - Craig and Janine (I may have her name wrong) put an abundance of love and care into their accommodation, we stayed overnight as a stop off with 3 dogs and checked in in time to eat a lovely meal before bed, amenities were clean, comfortable and tidy, free breakfast was generous. We would definitely reccomend.

- Scott (9/5): Easy stay. Pet friendly comfy room - Good location to stay after a long drive from Northern NSW. Easy access off Highway. Nothing
- Mathers (10/5): Warm, welcoming, so much so we stayed there again on our return trip. - We were made so welcome at the motel and our fur babies were made very welcome. The dogs were well catered for and there is plenty of room to walk them. Nothing. Only suggestion would be that in time a fenced off leash area for dogs. But there is one just up the road so not a deal breaker.
- Cindy (10/5): Perfect stop on the road - Perfect stop when you are on the road. The owner is so kind and available! The room was perfect and the location is so peaceful with kangaroos at sunset and birds in the morning. We didnât try the restaurant but it seems quite good! Nothing
