- Afshan7 (10/5): Stunning views from the hotel - The views from the hotel were spectacular. We were there last month during the first week of September. Parking is limited. Got to the hotel and managed to find a spot but once we got back after dinner in town we had to park on the road. Pleasant staff. There was free tea and coffee in the lounge which was a lovely touch as the views from the lounge were amazing. Good breakfast. Rooms are a bit on a smaller size. Tea & coffee facilities in the room as well. We stayed one night but wish we could’ve stayed longer. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Opening the window to see the fjord was unforgettable. The hotel has a quaint, relaxing vibe, and the breakfast was hands-down the best we had on our trip. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Geiranger!
- Pritesh (8/5): - The hotel is a gem in Geiranger. It sits up high in the mountain overlooking the Geirangerfjord. The common areas on the first floor are top class. One can watch the fantastic views of the fjord from within the hotel lobby (which has ample sitting space with views. The flydalsjuvet view point is literally 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel. The breakfast includes many choices to get the day started on a positive note. The most important and positive part of the service. We felt that the reception staff and kitchen staff really goes above and beyond to take care of the hotel guests. One special mention is Margo at the reception desk. She was super helpful with all the local information and was also fun to chat with. One minor thing about the hotel is tiny bathrooms and specifically shower stall. Even an average size person may have difficulty taking proper shower there. I understand the hotel is 100+ year old and they may have relatively recently added bathrooms for each room outside of that one concern everything is great and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

It felt cozy there. Some of the rooms have a view of the fjord. The breakfast was good with lots of variety and options.

Great vegetarian breakfast options. Please do provide the ingredients 'sticky note' on all the dishes so that it helps the Vegetarians to what to choose and what not to choose. It is a historic hotel with beautiful rooms. Seating area in the lobby is very beautiful. Complimentary Coffee, Tea and WiFi are very good. Parking space is available. Friendly staff. Loved our stay. Comfortable and wonderful.

- CandJDunnington (10/5): A lovely hotel overlooking the fjord, helpful staff. - Very welcoming reception, although we were early and our room was not ready we were given information about a lovely walk to a mountain waterfall. On checking in the receptionist was very helpful and talked about the facilities at the hotel. A lovely dining and bar area overlooking the fjord, the hotel is well maintained and clean. Be warned though there is no lift at this hotel - we took only a change of clothes for the next day and our wash bags to avoid having to lift heavy cases up to you room. Our room was small but clean and comfortable - we asked for a room overlooking the fjord with super views of the sunset. Breakfast was OK. Parking is available but limited. As we were checking out we were given very useful information about our next route, this helped us to avoid a huge detour due to road closures.

What was missing was a proper restaurant menu for dinner as the menu had very limited items to chose from.

Great hikes in the vicinity including waterfall, where you can actually get behind the waterfall itself. You can ask the staff how to get there. Would come back here anytime!

- susch (10/5): An absolute WOW experience! - An absolutely incredible view from the rooms (although I think there are some that don’t face the fjord) and the public rooms. Small room and tiny bathroom but the view makes up for it. Excellent dinner although quite expensive, and a nice breakfast buffet. An easy walk up to the Flydalsjuvet View Point. Plenty of parking.

The staff was able to answer our questions, but didn’t seem to be interested in connecting with the guests. It was our first time in Geiranger and first time staying at this historic hotel. We are eager to learn more about the town and history of the hotel as well as nearby neighborhood. However the staff came across distant and not interested in offering much information. The restaurant service also seemed to be quite slow and minimal.

- Zizzix (10/5): Classic 100 year-old hotel - Cute classic 100 year-old hotel above the town with a spectacular view of the fjord. Lots of little outdoor seating nooks and crannies. Older hotel with new quaint renovations. No elevator but only three floors. Our room was somewhat large and in addition to the bed had a little sitting area with a couch and two chairs and a coffee table overlooking the fjord. Absolutely beautiful. Hotel is right on the road with parking available. Hotel is above the fjord information center with the waterfall stair walk down into the town, but it's on the same level as the start of the behind the falls waterfall hike. Bed is very plush. Breakfast was very nice, with a view. Excellent stay!

- Steven John (6/5): - The hotel is in a great location and is old but the rooms are dated and the queen with view room was so small to get round the bed the other person had to sit on the bed, there is no room for suitcases to open without blocking the door out, no wardrobe but a rack with 3 hangers, no tv, the bedside lamps don’t work as the sockets are blocked, the bathroom is dated and tiny. There’s no lift so 3 floors of carrying cases. The dinner menu only has 3 items but breakfast is good. One night is ok, just , but anymore is a pain in the poky rooms. On the plus side the staff are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
- Jennifer (10/5): - This was a lovely hotel and good value for money compared to other hotels we stayed at in Norway. It was actually my favourite hotel in the 3 weeks we stayed in Norway. The location is about a 5-10min drive into Geiranger where all the stores and activities are or you could choose to walk down. You do have to pay to park down in the town but the hotel parking is free. Their breakfast is incredible! I’m sure their dinner would be great too but we didn’t actually stay for supper. We did not stay in a room with a view but i’m sure these would have been fabulous. We loved our stay.

- Robin (10/5): - Had a great stay and would 100% recommend it for anyone staying in Geiranger. We appreciated being far enough up the hill to get away from the thick crowds of cruise ship tourists. Consider asking for a third floor room if possible. We stayed on the second floor and because of the slope of the road in front of the building it felt a bit like ground floor when tour busses come past! But even with a second floor room I still highly recommend this location. Rooms are tiny and bathrooms are dated, typical of a classic European hotel, but they are clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both were excellent. Spring the extra money for the fjord facing rooms — worth it!

L'emplacement avec vue sur le fjord a fait la notoriété de l'établissement mais si les parties communes sont chaleureuses, notre chambre était simple, mais confortable avec sa salle de bain un peu datée mais ergonomique. Nous avions fait le choix de ne pas avoir vue sur le fjord mais une petite terrasse permet de profiter de la vue à chaque étage. Attention pas d'ascenseur. Petit-déjeuner et dîner excellents, service et accueil professionnels. Nous avons aussi regretté que la salle de restaurant n'offre qu'une vue sur la route. Parking devant l'hôtel.

- Nicholas (10/5): Charming and beautiful room - Charming hotel with an outstanding view and a super comfortable bed. The rooms are small and there are no elevators because it’s a very old building but it was great nevertheless. They also offered Nespresso in the rooms, which was a nice touch.

- Qijia (10/5): - True to its name, this hotel had incredible views of Geirangerfjord! It's also walking distance from the Flydalsjuvet viewpoint. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious.
- michael (10/5): - Yes, I would stay there again!! This is an older property but maintained well and as you will see its about location location location. Our room was small but its expected in Europe and these faculties. Staff was amazing and breakfast selection very good. Remember it the view!!
- Michael (10/5): - We called ahead when running late and Hans was most accommodating of our situation. He even met us outside to help us sort out parking after seeing us make a couple of passes by the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was a classic spread of Scandinavian "bread," which is bread, eggs, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, cereal, and much more! We enjoyed wandering the hallways and other public areas to see the historic photos on the walls illustrating life in Geiranger during days past.

The very kind and personable concierge was kind enough to help me with my luggage. Having the view of the fjord was a bonus. I was taking a car ferry the next day, and the hotel is conveniently located 10 minutes from the pier.

We had two children and although the restaurant only hade an a la carte menu, not suited for children, the kitchen offered us both bolognese and sausage. Loved the location, away from the busy and crowded tourist part of Geiranger. And the view was absolutely amazing!

- Verified traveler (6/5): Sykkeltur i Geiranger - Hyggelig betjening og god service generelt. Rommet uten utsikt var noe utdatert med tepper på gulv og lite bad, rom med fjordutsikt var nyoppusset og bedre standard. Men må gi + for gode senger og dyne/ pute. Mangler gode lamper ved sengen, kun nattbordlampe som ikke kunne brukes som leselampe. Mat i restauranten var samme meny alle dager, lite å velge og synes da at det ble dyrt med så lite å velge mellom. Burde fornye menyen noe mer her. Frokosten var bra med normalt utvalg av pålegg, brød, varm mat. Parkering - ser at det kan by på utfordringer når det er fult i sesongen Manglet en TV på rommet, men det kom opp en TV ved resepsjonsområde i løpet av oppholde. Synd at vinduene i fellesrommet ikke går lengre ned slik at man ikke kan nyte utsikten hvis det ikke er plass ved vindu.
