Kundenfreundlichkeit geht anders!! Ich kann von dieser Unterkunft nur abraten!!! Alles
- Francesco (10/5): Emozionante - Tutto, direi emozionante
- Anika (10/5): - Lovely staff, everyone was super friendly and we loved the occasional visits from buffalo’s and zebras for breakfast. The food was really nice too!

- Alexander (10/5): - Excellent staff and great location. Exceptionally friendly and helpful team of young guys who made us feel most welcome.
- Philip (10/5): - This property and its excellent staff make a visit to Tarangire absolutely unforgettable. A++

- Adriana (10/5): Great place with wonderful people, feel the nature - Everything was amazing🎈☀️🍀, this place is like coming from fairytales, the staff are wonderful people, who want to help You with everything. The food is amazing and so many varieties. Perfect place to be at the nature❤️ Everything was perfect
- Mehdi (10/5): -
- Susan (7/5): Good - (Lovely setting with magnificent ancient baobabs all around. Friendly, helpful staff. Unable to shower for 3 days as no hot water because of lack of solar. For the amount we were paying they really need to sort out a back up system. The food was very basic, again considering the cost needs improvement.
- Francesco (5/5): Choose a Lodge or a better tented camp - Just the idea of sleeping in the park was exciting, but waking up in the middle of the night to elephants quietly moving around our tent was truly exceptional. The sound of their massive footsteps in the dark, so close yet so serene, made for an unforgettable, surreal experience. It was a rare moment of magic that we’ll never forget. The tent was basic at best—not the luxurious experience you might expect for the price. The furniture was minimal, and the sheets were old, well past their prime and desperately in need of replacement. For the amount we paid, the quality was far below expectations. There’s no air conditioning, so don’t even think about taking an afternoon nap between game drives—it’s impossible. The tent turns into an oven, unbearably hot and uncomfortable.
The water pressure in the shower was barely a trickle, not due to a shortage, but because the system seems to be designed for elephants, with leaks all around the property. As for the bar, it boasts a full selection, but don’t expect a refreshing drink. There’s no ice, so anything you order is warm from sitting in the sun all day.
The food was disappointing, and while the staff was friendly, they seemed overly focused on tips, which they reminded us of constantly—almost as though it was the main part of the experience. Overall, it was an okay experience but wouldn’t return, nor would we recommend it to others.
- Lisa (10/5): Amazing camp in the middle of the bush - Really nice tented camp, everything from tent to food is just perfect. But the best thing of this accomodation is for sure the people working here. They are the cutest !!
- Sean (7/5): Good -
- Salome (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, peaceful and relaxing. Great food and amazing staff. Good location to get deep into the natural park. No hot water
- Jonathan (6/5): A bit too large and corporate - The camp is OK, good electricity, lighting, some hot water, but it is on a large scale and has the feeling of a large corporation. The food is not very good. It is fine but I would recommend a more intimate setting for a safari camp.
- Bilkis (1/5): Bad -
- Mihaela (1/5): Worse nightmare .... dont try to go there without a guide - Nothing. We did not manage to get to the lodge. It is quite complicated to get there in particular during rain season. Although we called several times, no one from the lodge pick up the phone to give us directions. The lodge is not signposted. We got lost for several hours and Although it was night already, the staff still did not help. We got back to the gate very late. However, the lodge cashed the entire amount of our reservation, including for the food, though they knew very well we never made it to the lodge.
- Avner (8/5): Good place but overpriced, remote, and outdated. - Nice place with nice staff. Little gifts were a nice touch. Hard to get to. Remote. No easy directions.
A bit outdated.
Expensive for what you get.
- Benjamin (8/5): Beautiful tents, friendly staff and excellent food. - Beautiful tents, friendly staff, excellent food. The road to get there is not easy and definitely requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle, but the camp and staff are great. Had an hour or so of a very noisy generator in the evening.
- Miguel (9/5): Superb - Service and view. The access road and directions to the Lodge (in the NP the name is different than in Booking)
- Leopold (10/5): - Alles hervorragend!
- Annette (10/5): - Great value for money, excellent service, unforgettable safari experience listening to the roar of lions and calling of hyenas during the night from cozy furnished tents. Awaking to the sounds of grazing zebras, grunting buffalos - what a way to start a day
- Veronique (10/5): - Très bon staff nourriture très bonne
- Kg (10/5): Unforgettable place - If you have read other reviews from properties in Tanzania indicating how friendly and genuine were the staff, that’s because it’s usually true. But this place was over the top. We were sorry to leave. It is located within Tarangire Park, which jacks up the price since you are paying entry fees for every day you are there, but we found it well worthwhile for the week we spent there. Very few people do that, and we spent some days NOT doing the usual safari, observing quietly the life that came by, as opposed to chasing after it in a car. Nothing, except something that was our fault, I.e. bringing in a bit of food (nuts and dried fruit) that attracted rodents, as could happen in any tent camp. Anyone staying in a tent camp should expect that animals will be about, sometimes very close at night. Not dangerous, but you might need to get used to it. We watched a bull elephant under a full moon grazing on vegetation about 15 meters from our tent, around 2:AM. Unforgettable.
- Mohammed (1/5): Don't let them charge your card. - The administration is not competent - I was charged initially in Tanzanian shillings so my stay cost less than $1. I then alerted them otherwise they would have lost nearly $700! Instead of showing goodwill, I ended up paying more because of changes in the exchange rate. Never again.
- Brigitte (9/5): Superb -
- Maud (10/5): - Super stay. We were here 3 nights and everything was great: the people, the accomodation, the food and the surroundings. In the park with animals closeby.
- Andrin (10/5): A fabulous and romantic stay in the heart of nature - The opportunity to stay in the middle of the wonderful Tarangire NP is really a privilege. The camp has been designed with both comfort and closeness to nature in mind. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the communal spaces are designed to make best use of the wonderful location. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming, and we enjoyed discussing the wildlife with them around the campfire. And to wake up with an elephant really just a few metres from the tent was unforgettable. Nothing - it was perfect
- Rasa (9/5): Lovely place under a baobab tree! - A cosy place in the middle of the park. Excellent location! Very friendly and helpful staff. Danny, the manager agreed to guide our evening game drive. There was no hot water left to shower in the evening or morning.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - Second time visited Baobab tented camp. I should return at least one more time here! )
Lovely staff, splendid location, tasty meal! You can start a safari just leaving your tent ) wifi was only available near the front desk, but it was not a big problem.
- Océane (8/5): Amazing (but overpriced) - All the comfort in the middle of the savannah. Very beautiful setting, pretty tents with a very safari atmosphere. The food (dinner, breakfast and lunchbox) was really delicious. Being in the park early in the morning allowed us to see a family of about 15 lions on our way out, it was amazing. Too bad the drinks are not included for that price. The campfire went out before we finished dinner around 7:30 p.m., so after that we had nothing to do but go to bed. Finally, like all other accommodation in the region with a minimum of standard, it is far too expensive. It was very good overall, but it does not deserve such a price.
- Mary-ann (8/5): A remote gem in the bush- well worth finding! - A lovely tented camp in the middle of nature! Well appointed tents with all the comforts, the staff were welcoming and paid attention to detail to make our stay very memorable. Romantic lunch set up in the bush, welcoming drinks, good service. It is quite a long drive from the main gate and not easy to find if self driving. Google
maps was not helpful ;) but the other operators knew the location and gave us directions. Also, the tents were beautiful with comfortable beds but I would have preferred white linens and not brown. Personal preference, but brown sheets can be off- putting!
- Pascal (10/5): Wonderful Time Spent at The Baobab Tented Camp - This is my second time at The Baobab Tented Camp and I love this place! I will return again next year. The Camp is wonderful, rooms are spacious and decorated lovely and the staff are amazing.
- Allison (10/5): beautiful tents in the middle of the wilderness - the staff are absolutely amazing. nothing is to hard or difficult for them. they make the stay memorable says it has a pool but doesn’t
- Kathleen (10/5): - Upon arriving we were greeted by the staff and from that point on, everything was wonderful!! The staff are warm, friendly, informative and overall the whole time there was amazing. I would highly recommend Baobab Tented Camp and I will return in the future for another stay at this very special Tented Camp!!
- Willow (10/5): Exceptional - We got stuck in the mud, along with two other cars, on our way to the camp and had to wait three hours for a tractor to come pull us out. So we arrived at Baobab Tented Camp around 9pm at night, in the dark and well after check-in. Nevertheless we were greeted with concern, friendly smiles and a hot dinner! Our first experience of the camp and it's staff sums up our entire stay there: The staff are very welcoming and go above and beyond, the tents are spacious, comfortable, clean and hit the perfect balance between luxury and practicality. We cannot recommend this place highly enough, it was the perfect accommodation for our safari adventure.
- Hannah (10/5): - Probably the highlight of our holiday. The camp is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The staff was so welcoming and the level of service was exceptional. Oh and the food is delicious! I can not recommend this place enough - our stay there was truly SO special.
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional - everything was fantastic!!!! thank you!!
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): - What a great time! We were self-driving on Safari in Tarangire over Christmas and spent 4 nights at the Baobab and had daily visits from elephants in camp. The staff were charming and really, really helpful, great facilities, very comfortable bed, and great food. Ignore the comments about it being hard to find - it's not. It is away from the other lodges in a more remote part of the park, but that's an advantage. Just ask the staff for directions before you arrive - it's at the Kanga Special Campsite - and use maps.me - not google maps, which is misleading and inaccurate in all the national parks.
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - Magical place in Tarangire. We saw Elephants from 20 meters from the camp and could hear the lions roar at night. An amazing experience for our two kids age 4 and 8. The staff were really attentive and made sure our kids had the best time! It could have been more clear in the Tarangire-entrance fee is not included ind the price.
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Michael (10/5): Very nice camp in Tarangire National Park - Located inside Tarangire National Park it is the perfect place to base your safaris out of. The tents are very well & nicely furnished with private bathroom & hot water. We had giraffes & elephants near our tent! The dining area is situated on a wooden platform in the middle of the camp & offers a nice view into the surrounding bush. The food was good & the staff was super friendly & helpful. We even go our own private table next to the fire, as we were travelling on our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay and can 100% recommend Baobab camp to anybody!
- Nissim (10/5): best place to go, perfect for your safari adventure - The place was amazing! located perfectly in the middle of Tarangire national park, so you can see the animals first thing when you wake up in the morning, and watch the beautiful sunset and sunrise in the middle of the savanna.
The staff was so warm and welcoming, made sure to help with every possible thing. The food was excellent, we enjoyed it very much!
The room was so clean and comfortable, we had very hot water for shower at night.
It is just the perfect place to go in the middle of your safari trip, and we most definitely would love to go back! everything was just perfect.
- Camilla (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the place, the food and ALL staff was so amazing. Thank you very much. We're looking forward to come back.
- Susan (10/5): absolutely amazing - the staff at baobab tented camp are delightful.
they looked after us so, so well. the camp is
beautiful. the tents are incredibly comfortable and
luxurious. the food is exceptional and the lunch
boxes are very good. the camp is deep in the
tarangire park which means it’s off the beaten track-
this is a bonus. we saw elephants while eating
dinner - this was unexpected and amazing.
thank you so so much for a truly memorable
stay in a very special location. we saw many
elephants, zebra, giraffe, dik dik & on our final
morning a pride of lions which had killed a zebra.
amazing. unbeatable. it’s not a criticism but you do need to organise your
own guide and driver (this can be done via their office
in Arusha but slightly more expensive than what we
found elsewhere).
- Madeleine (10/5): top verblijf gehad - great location, beautiful restaurant,
good beds and friendly staff. our daughter has celiac disease and they were very attentive to her dietary needs
- Paul Marcel (10/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal.
- MARC (2/5): Avoid that place - Awful experience. The tent camp does NOT keep to its promise. Difficult to find (no signs), hot water not working, wifi not working, plugs not working and management did not care (local team nice but ...). Of course, tented camp confort can be lower than lodges but for the price and the description, this clearly does NOT deliver on the promise. We were supposed to stay 2 nights and left after the first one. Avoid that place!!!!. For the same price, you'll get amazing lodges that are locsted in the park as well
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Absolutely impossible to find. No signage and poor communication from camp to patron. We spent 7 hours trying to locate the camp site which was completely unknown, even to the park rangers. No response from Baobab people to our complaint. Caveat emptor!
