Guest Reviews
- Le-Anne (10/5): Great Breakfast - Cosy comfy room, nice extras in the room and great breakfast.
- Steve (10/5): - Excellent food for breakfast and evening meal. Lovely friendly staff and really pleasant stay
- Christina (10/5): - Lovely pub with friendly staff and great service. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Great shower and comfortable bed. We ate there in the evening, best fish pie I’ve ever had and great choices. Breakfast was good, choice of cereals, yoghurt etc and plenty of fresh fruit. Choice of cooked to order hot dishes. We felt our stay was great value and would stay again.
- Mark (2/5): The Kings Arms - The room was very small. The bed was uncomfortable. The duvet was all lumpy. The floor was on an angle so it felt like you were sleeping on a hill. The dinning bar area was discustingly dirty. It looked like it hasn't been cleaned in months. There was a drunk woman falling all over the place. Its the type of place workies would stay during the week. Its not the type of place you would go for a relaxing getaway!
On the positive side, the staff were fine.
- Manoj (10/5): - Very helpful staff. Food was fantastic. We would come back here again.
- Magnus (10/5): - Fantastiskt pubhotell i klassisk engelsk miljö - bra rum, bra mat på kvällen med oväntat stort urval. Fin frukost med både en kall del där man valde själv och en varm beställning- räckte för halva dagen !
- peter (8/5): - Great sea view from comfy double bed, which had nice soft pillows! Super large television with lots of extras !
Room and bathroom a bit small though.
V good breakfast! We enjoyed the Mousehole shanty men ln the lively bar the night before!
- Peta (10/5): - This is a ‘must stay’ experience wonderful property and staff. Meals were huge & bar crowd full of friendly locals.
- Linda (10/5): - Thank you, lovely place, lovely welcoming staff, excellent food!
- Marion (8/5): - Schönes Zimmer, nettes Personal, gutes Frühstück
- Jack (10/5): Not your average hotel experience - I was looking for a one of a kind experience in Cornwall and The Kings Arms met my expectations. It's a quaint little pub with about 6 hotel rooms. We ate dinner and breakfast there and both were very good. We would recommend this site if you're looking for something other than a big hotel chain with a lot of charm.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Delicious dining at the Kings Arms during our stay - We loved our two nights at the Kings Arms. We enjoyed two delicious dinners as well as breakfasts while visiting. Our room could have been a little more spacious, but the bed was comfortable. There was no room service the second day . All the staff were most friendly. We would highly recommend the inn.
- Susan E (10/5): - Stayed for one night with two friends. The room was beautiful and very clean with everything we needed. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to eat in the evening but the breakfast was excellent and staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
- Suzanne (10/5): Lovely overnight stay - Lovely overnight stay in the pub in a hamlet just outside mousehole. Excellent room friendly staff, all you need. Would def. Stay again.
- Maria (10/5): - Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in the Kings Arms. Super Pub mit sehr guter Essensauswahl und netten Inhabern.
- Greg (10/5): Overall, great stay and good food. - Nice spacious room with great food and staff down at the bar restaurant.
With WiFi included and breakfast it was great value, highly recommend.
- Alexis (10/5): Lovely inn and pub - great food - I had a lovely stay at the Kings Arms Penzance. The pub serves delicious traditional pub fare, and the full Cornish breakfast in the morning is excellent. My room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and I had everything I could need. The staff were extremely kind when I wound up breaking a bone in my foot while on a walk in the nearby fields. They kindly provided me with a giant bag of frozen peas - the perfect thing to ice my foot. I was lucky to stay on an evening when the award-winning local men's choir was practicing next door. They popped in after rehearsal for some snacks and a pint and broke into some of the most lovely impromptu singing - an unexpected treat. You know you are in a good place when it is filled with locals daily. It's perfect for any length of stay, with excellent access to all Cornwall offers. I hope to visit again in the future.
- Steve (10/5): A proper pub/B&B - A very good Pub with excellent meals and wonderfully accommodation
- Julia (10/5): - Wunderschön und sehr stylisch, super nette Leute und sehr lecker Essen, aber unser Zimmer hat leider schimmelig gerochen.
- Alan (10/5): Great pub to stay in - short walk from Mousehole - Nice oub, good food and beers! Comfortable warm room!
- Thomas (8/5): - All round a really nice place to stay. I especially enjoyed the breakfast- the young person that served me had an infectious sunny disposition, brightened my morning no end!
- Anthony (10/5): - Very nice breakfast and helpful staff. Would recommend
- Jody (10/5): - Great food and service. The pub itself is beautiful with Clean, comfortable accommodation for the night. Good value for money with a very nice breakfast included. Would definitely stay again.
- Michele (10/5): Great stay - Lovely pub, lovely people. Very clean & friendly & incredible value for money!
- peter (10/5): Friends I never knew I had - From the second I walked in the atmosphere and service was outstanding. As a total stranger I was made to feel welcome. The service the food and chat within the bar was all just exceptional. I have had one of the best evening out on my own with wonderful company around me that I have experienced in decades. This was made all the more special by the fact that this place is animal friendly as I got to meet a local military veteran like myself with his support Ferrets and we just chatted the night away. The staff have also bent over backwards to accommodate all of my special requests. This place is a genuine diamond off the beaten track and would suggest it be a first choice location to stay if needing to in this part of the world. Thanks all 😎👍
- David (10/5): - Great stay, very good food, friendly staff, breakfast excellent
- James (10/5): Great Cornish Charm - I wish we could have stayed longer here, but airline delays cut our visit short. As it was we arrived at 10:30 PM just in time for last call in the pub, and it was very welcoming. The family room was great with a separate room for kids and the breakfast was fantastic: full English for me and smoked salmon for my wife and daughter. Ten minute walk down to the harbor at Mousehole with views of Saint Michael’s Mount. Close to many other sites like Minack Theater and Land’s End. Worth a return visit.
- Philip (10/5): - Great local pub to stay at in a quaint English village
- Amy (10/5): - Had a great few night's at the Kings Arms. Staff were so friendly and meals were delicious and very generous!
- Maria (10/5): - Fantastic breakfast. Super-friendly and helpful staff. On-site pub is very convenient.
- Tony (10/5): - This gorgeous pub/B&B, The Kings Arms is absolutely wonderful. My partner and I booked a weekend stay here (Friday to Monday) as a base whereby we could easily access attractions and nearby places we wanted to visit ie the Minack theatre, St Michaels mount, Mousehole and Penzance.
The Kings Arms is located in Paul and is only a short walking distance to Mousehole. We had come down by train from Newton Abbot and during our stay we were able to use a local bus from Mousehole to get to Penzance bus station where we could also get other buses to other places.
The Kings Arms and customers service is outstanding. The staff were very welcoming and very attentive, always asking us if their was anything we needed to just ask.
Our room was beautifully presented and very clean.
The food is excellent. Lovely choices from the menus and the quality of the food is just fantastic with all the ingredients sourced locally.
Overall we were extremely impressed with the Kings arms and we will definitely be returning.
Highly, our rating 10/10
- Rob (10/5): - Good welcome, great food.
- Charmain (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay and the pub at the King’s Arms. Very nice people.
- Natalie (4/5): - Whilst the Kings Arms is in a lovely village and convenient for The Minack Theatre and other local tourist spots, the room was very expensive but a huge let down - It was really cramped, and lacked some key things. The service was generally poor both when checking-in and at breakfast. Check-in wasn't until after 4pm and breakfast had to be taken before 9am - not very focused on the guests' needs. Breakfast was under cooked and took 50 minutes: arriving much later than the required 9am!! A real disappointment and way over priced.
- Paul (4/5): - Lumpy bed; room tilted (head downhill) severely. Extremely tight, small room, no place to put anything. Staff was nice, food was good.
- Doug (10/5): - Great staff and interesting location.
- Abigail (10/5): - Restful and lovely stay. Staff were very friendly and our evening meal was brilliant.
- Claire (10/5): Absolutely lovely room - Only a 10 minute walk from Mousehole front this lovely pub is ideal. We were really impressed with the family room with it’s adjoining room with large modern bunk beds/large tv and it’s own drink-making facilities. It was immaculate.
The dried up mushrooms let down what was otherwise a decent cooked breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very friendly and helpful people, food very good, good atmosphere. Only drawback was the room and shower room were very small.
- Robin (10/5): Great place to stay. - Stayed for 4 days over New Year. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was spotless, well equipped with a good standard of decoration and had a very comfortable bed although the room was quite small. We discovered that there were 2 larger rooms available. Breakfast was delicious. We also ate at the Kings Arms every evening and were not disappointed as the quality of the food was really good. The pub is in a great location with a short walk of around 8 minutes into Mousehole. Would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
- Anthony (8/5): - Great location, nice old pub and village.
Decent rooms, Mordenised.
Toilet was fine but cramped.
- Henry (10/5): Lovely Cornish home from home! - Charming hotel, very well located with friendly and fun staff who went the extra mile to accommodate us in such difficult times. Meals are delicious with generous portions, and lots of drinks to choose from at the bar.
The bedrooms are very neat and well presented. Lovely comfortable bed and well sized shower. We had a lovely time here in the Cornish countryside!
- Richard (10/5): Great location for sightseeing in the area - Great place to stay and we were able to park easily in the car park - nice walk into Mousehole and location was brilliant for sightseeing in the area. Room was exceptionally clean and breakfast was good. We had a king size room - which was very small and the bathroom was tiny. For a three night stay we could have done with a larger room - but the room was lovely with a sea view
- PierreMundell (10/5): - Very efficient and friendly staff, clean rooms and the best fish and chips in the restaurant. Lovely place and would stay again.
