Guest Reviews
- Charli (4/5): - We were pretty unsatisfied with how clean the unit was. There was mold in the bathrooms, Dust everywhere, beds were broken, blinds were broken, walls were filthy, baseboards were filthy, hand rails were dirty and sticky, parts of the wall that look like they were being worked on but not completed. The basement level shower was clogged and wouldn't drain we had to plunger hair out of it to get it to drain, there was no smoke alarm in the bottom bedroom which was a HUGE safety concern for us as that is where our children slept, instructions as to where garbage and parking spot could be written a little better to help the next person find where it is actually located. Considering this was an "upgrade" after our original booking couldn't be completed because of an error on their end we were pretty dissatisfied
- Verified traveler (4/5): Nowhere close to standard expected from a hotel - Booking on Hotels.com I expected a hotel level of service. That was not the case.
In no particular order
* Extra forms with many restrictions on usage (no visitors!) were required after booking. Despite filling them out I was sent many reminders via both email and text.
* All surfaces were slightly sticky, like I'd expect from a beach cottage
* Stair railing at front of property is a pure death trap, will definitely snap off if anyone leans hard on it. Thankfully my elderly father didn't fall victim but it was close.
* No internet, TV, or DVD player for the entire stay despite asking host to address. Lack of internet was particularly painful as I hadn't made plans to have decent cell coverage - cost me at least $100 trying to work around it
* No hair conditioner in shower
* Mildew smell for 8 sleeping spots in the basement
* Pot debris (blunts, vape pieces) all over back deck
- Lacey (2/5): - Do NOT rent from Seattle Vacation Home
We booked a property called The Autobahn through Expedia for our family trip to Seattle. Just before check-in, we were told it was “unavailable due to maintenance” and were moved to another house- a larger home.
The replacement home was a disaster:
• Dirty carpet and bathrooms
• Smelled like feet
• Deck was unsafe
• No AC during a heat wave, and windows couldn’t be opened or had no screens
• The house was not ready for guests at all
Here’s the kicker: I visited The Autobahn — the house we originally booked (because Expedia sent me the address not knowing that Seattle Vacation Home had changed our reservation). The original home—THIS HOME was clearly not under maintenance. It looked abandoned and had been for months! The company never intended to rent this home to us. It was a baitandswitch.
When I brought up these concerns, the property manager was dismissive, condescending, and tried to justify it as an “upgrade” based on square footage. No ownership of the condition, no apology. A lot of gaslighting.
I didn’t want to let this ruin our family’s trip, so I waited until we got home to deal with it. I’m Expedia was only able to give me a fraction of what we paid and SVH is not answering their calls or emails.
If you’re traveling to Seattle and want a safe, clean, and honest experience, avoid Seattle Vacation Home. They do not operate with transparency or professionalism.
You can check out photos on yelp. NOT GOOD!
- noah (8/5): - Satellite TV didnt seem to have any channels that worked
- G'Nell (10/5): Business trip, relaxing and pleasuresble - Our stay was for business. The house was very comfortable and the neighborhood was safe, welcoming and quiet. We appreciated all the fine details provided for checkin and check out. Our hosts were very responsive.
We’ll definitely stay here again when we return to Seattle.
