My husband and I come to this hotel every year for a summer vacation, now we have taken 7 days. This hotel, Brijuni, the people who work here, nature, animals... everything but everything is perfect!!! I will start with the hotel which has 3 stars but many 5 star hotels can hide behind this one. The people who work in the restaurant have been here for decades, wonderful, smiling people. The food is like in the best restaurants, varied, homemade, delicious. Every day you have a fish and meat menu. The breakfast is varied and there is no normal person who can say a negative word. But the most important thing is that it is homemade and delicious food. The restaurant is spacious, beautifully decorated with a beautiful terrace by the sea. The rooms are renovated, have excellent air conditioning, comfortable beds and a beautiful terrace. We always take the view of the park because the room is always in the shade of trees and in the morning peacocks walk in front of the room. You feel real, true peace. The housekeepers clean the rooms every day, the domestic staff, very cheerful and tidy women. The rooms are extremely clean. We have seen that some guests emphasize that they only get coffee in the room on the first day, but this remark is unclear to us because, on the contrary, we would be ashamed to write it. Apart from the hotel, we use the sunbeds on the nearby beach every day, and as guests of the hotel we pay an extremely favorable price of 5 euros. We also have bicycles and an electric car at a 50 percent discount. Well done Brijuna. We travel all over the world and in the winter we are mostly in the Bahamas or the Caribbean and similar luxury destinations, but Brijuni is a place where you can experience solitude, an absolute connection with nature, hear crickets all day every day, see deer during a walk, visit zebras, elephants, ostriches..... This is heaven on earth!!!! I recommend everyone to visit this national park!!!! The only complaint is the reception staff, who do not have the habit of smiling and wishing guests a good day, but this will not diminish our experience.
- Giles (10/5): - We loved our stay here! We booked a larger room with a sea view and weren't disappointed. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The view was beautiful and our balcony overlooked the peaceful bay. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and were really impressed by the very friendly and helpful staff. We requested vegan food and the chef made us our own risotto and talked us through which other items were suitable too. The food was great! We felt very welcome and every member of staff we spoke to was very helpful. The hotel is located next to the ferry and a short walk from the main attractions. Highly recommended!

- Kevin (10/5): - I’ve never stayed in a national park with a hotel and I’ve visited three in Croatia. They allow me early check end, which I really appreciate it. Also enjoyed the amenities. I used the golf course and also used a golf cart to view the sites the first day and the second day I walked for seven hours around the perimeter and revisited the Roman villa ruins, which was exceptional. The breakfast was very good.

- deboralS8930EH (4/5): Overly expensive and poor in service - Should you go there learn to wrestle around getting services you paid for. Super costly for level of services, rigid in attitude. For a room of +300 eur/night you get complimentary room coffee for arrival only. Renting a bike will cost you 192eur for 4 days while quality / purchasing value of bikes available is below. Parking of car will cost you additional fortune. Staff seems as trained on how to not please a customer.
- iamuzelac (8/5): 1st row location! - This is an older hotel, unfortunately when visiting Brijuni islands one cannot choose much where to sleep (I think in total there is 3-4 hotels there). Was here for 2 days and it is great to explore the island. Also when you come with a boat the hotel entrance is few steps away from the drop off location. Staff is very nice and rooms are very clean you will not miss if you decide to stay at this one.
- TanjaD (8/5): Great stay - We stayed 2 nights with our 2 small kids this May and we also stayed last year in May. We even had the same big room with 2 beds for our kids (park side, view of forest). The food is excellent, both for dinner and for breakfast. This year the room even had kettle with tea and coffee. Brijuni are gorgeous and our kids loved the tourist train ride last year and our ride across the island with a golf car. The bathroom could do with modernising as well as the cafe area but the grand hotel balconies are wonderful. The staff and polite and attentive. I hope to return again because off season price is of great value.

- 29jelenap (10/5): I’ve had the most wonderful time here - The island itself is beyond words beautiful. The hotel is very old and charming. Its rooms are clean, its terraces spacious and charming. The food was average, but since you do not visit Brijuni for its hotel cuisine, we found it acceptable. What I wish to emphasize is the professionalism and kindness of the island staff; these people are so polite, outgoing and helpful, they make you feel like a guest at a five star resort, which you actually are, given the unprecedented beauty of the island itself. Do rent an electric car, don’t miss on that. Go to Brijuni and forget about the stresses of the modern world.

- Nikikk (2/5): Not worth it! - The island of Brijuni is great, this hotel is not. It’s just a sad, beautiful building that used to be something but lost all of its splendour. The rooms are so old it is sad. The showers work but not really, the carpet has probably not been changed ever! It feels like being back in the 70’! But with modern day prices! I had booked a single room to join two friends who were sharing a double room. My room cost as much at theirs but it was a coffin!! I have never set foot in a room and felt so oppressed in my life. After a 30’ long debate with the receptionist (who was admittedly very friendly), I ended up in a room similar to that of my friends only smaller, where at least I could breathe. The rooms have NO AIRCO!! And they are impossible to cool down even if you leave the window open all day and night. Finally, on the first night, they had a wedding party right in the hotel’s garden, under my window (I was on the 2nd floor). Even with the window closed it sounded as if I was at the party itself. And the music wasn’t even good...so until past midnight, there was no way to get any sleep. Overall, this is by far one of the worst value for money hotels I’ve ever been to! Just avoid it until they decide to renovate it and stay on the coast. The ferry only takes 15’ to get to the island. One more point: there’s no market, no atm and no more than one à-la-carte restaurant in here!

Walking through the woods fantastic smells. Outdoor concerts. Zebra safari. Dinosaur footprints and roman villas. Brijuni has it all!
- Luka (4/5): Dated hotels - Landscape is outstanding and Veli Brijun is a truly outstandingly beautiful island - my overall Hotel experience was not as nice as somewhere else. 1. Cleanliness: poor. Dated, old, dusty and poorly cleaned. Bathroom wall was pealing off while having shoo. No air conditioning. 2. Service: poor Senior Staff had this ‘old school’ touch for customers service, unpleasant and patronising. 3. Food: poor As there is no other options on the Island for having dinner, you will be charged 115,00 HRK (£14.50/15,60€/17.50$) per person to eat very limited buffet style food. No drinks included! Unreasonably overpriced.
- Bigkevvy (8/5): Perfect paradise island - Beautifully sunny Croatian day, so we headed to the Brijuni Nat Park. Went to the onshore booking office but left slightly confused as to how your ferry ticket also gets you in a guided tour (if it’s not booked up?)....anyway, for what it’s worth don’t bother with the guided tour or the wee train that drives around.....hire the electric cars and explore the island on your own. 300 Knr for an hour so take it for 2 and that gives you plenty time to stop, explore the Roman villas, the Safari Park, the ruined church and the numerous stunning little inlets with gloriously clear water. Only complaint was the ham/cheese sandwich we got. It wasn’t worth anywhere near the money, very poor, a slither of ham and an equally thin slice of cheese inside thick rolls, and no butter!! Take your own juice and snacks, probably easier. After handing back the cars we found a lovely spot under some trees, near the sea, and cooled off, did a bit of snorkling until the 5.30 ferry came to take us back to the mainland. Go, well worth the effort and a lovely place to explore.......just take your own grub😀.
- bbarb5 (6/5): National Park Brioni - For hotel guests in Brioni you do not need to buy a boat card. Parking for a car costs 7 kn per hour and unfortunately do not have all-day parking tickets. There are two parking places in the vicinity, from where you can walk to the boat. We wanted the experience of staying in a hotel that stayed in socialist times and we knew what we could expect frem hotel. We stayed in hotel Neptun. Let me say that Mrs. Mirjana at the reception wasn't friendly, maybe she had a bad day, or she did not like Slovenian guests because she was friendly to the guest before me. I booked room with sea view. Breakfast could be better, and I do not recommend coffee in the restaurant, it's better from coffe machine at breakfast. You can enjoy a wonderful day with a bicycle or a golf car (300kun per hour to 17h, 200kun after 17h) through safari ride. There are also many beautiful bathing areas where there are no other people and the water is very clean.

So rude! - The Brijuni islands are really beautiful for a bike ride, swimming, historical/archeological. Truly worth a visit also with small family. If you manage to avoid the crowds, which is easy cause the island is really big. That is why we were so disappointed with the horrible attitude of the staff at the hotel. They made is feel unwelcome, at one point called us liars to cover up their own mistakes, overcharged the still water we had a dinner, were rude to our children and were just nothing like we ever experienced. Please give these beautiful islands a better hotel management and turn it into the paradise it deserves to be!
- gordan0810 (6/5): Peacefull rest, but not for a long stay - Hotel Neptun-Istra are two connected buildings. Difference between them is that Neptun is hotel left in 70's (furniture and rooms) and Istra is renovated. Both buildings have sea and park side. Neptun is two star, while Istra is three-star hotel. But you do not need to bother with that, because you will never use air-condition, as you do not need it even on the hottest days. So, if you want to have look how people were staying in Brijuni islands during Yugoslavia go to Neptun. Furniture, facilities, equipment in the room are all from that period. If you want to have more luxury, ask for rooms in Istria. They have also different prices where Istria is more expensive than Neptun. But, during my last stay I sow that some rooms in Neptun are also in phase of renovation. I slept in both buildings with my family and you will get good night sleep in both. if you are visiting Brijuni Islands for several days they are much better choice than staying on the shore and traveling to islands with boat. Also, you are not allowed to have your bicycles, but you must rent them on the island (also for kids). For those kids that do not know how to ride bicycle they have special seats for parent's bicycle or caddy. There is also 9-hole golf course, if you want to play. On islands you will se a lot of animals wandering free, but they have also small ZOO. The biggest attraction is elephant, but you can see zebras, lamas and some domestic animals, goats, beef, horses. I am staying on Brijuni Islands for 20 years now, but not for more than 7 days per year, as after you ride with bicycle across island you do not have much to do. Therefore, I do not recommend longer stays, but just shorter ones. You will get peace of the mind, see beautiful nature, and have good night sleep. I will definitely go there next year, and year after…Location 100 of 5.
- Sidora66 (10/5): The only hotel on Brijuni Island - ...as it administers Hotel Karmen as well (meaning: you check in at Hotel Neptun, if you want a room at Hotel Karmen). The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is lovely and varied, and the evening buffet is good and also varied. We didn't eat a la carte. We loved it there and can only recommend.
- lovetheunexpected (8/5): Pleasant drink on the terrace before catching the ferry back to Fazena - We were pleasantly surprised at the warm welcome & the prices of the drinks at this rather swish looking hotel on the waterfront by the ferry pier. Lovely end to a day on the island. Friendly staff & a drink with a view, especially enjoyed seeing how the other half live on their fabulous yachts coming & going across the harbour.
- LeoP951 (2/5): Shame - Brioni are such a nice place but hotels are real shame. I can’t understand why the hotel remained in 80’s. I was disappointed with the condition of the hotel rooms but I was ashamed with the service. My recommendation to all of you is visit Brioni for one day, don’t stay overnight
- marina_drpic (8/5): Peaceful - Astonishing Nature, peacefull, “Neptun” and “Istra” Are two joined hotels, some parts Are fully renovated. There is no traffic/cars on the island, only bikes and electric cars that you can rent on the island. Ferry takes you back to the land and the ride takes about 10 minutes. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, great choice of various dishes. Lot of theatre shows are organized on the near-by island during the summer. It s a great place if you want to charge your batteries because you Will spend your holidays in a national park of nature, with no traffic, surrounded with great beauty, culture and history remains.
- Jkemp101 (6/5): Noise pollution - This hotel would be improved massively if they didn’t play loud live music every night until 11pm, which permeates every room. Terrible if you have young children, which a lot of people staying do have. No idea why they do this but they should stop it.

Exceptional a la carte restaurant with a good choice of local dishes, deserts and wines.Good second restaurant for the customers which prefers full boarding. Very friendly and helpful Staff. Perfect place for a nature lovers. Many activities in offer inclusive 18 hole golf course. Good guarded parking on the shore. Do not await exceptional rooms and facilities, biggest treasure of this place is nature and surroundings of the hotel and possibilities to find a lonely place for yourself on the beach
- JoannaC3497 (2/5): Terrible service - Worst staff manners especially at the restaurant . Waiter slammed our food down on the table. Didn’t bother to change the plates as well for the bread and food wasn’t great. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay or eat here.
- Dela1996 (10/5): The most comfortable in Brijuni hotels complex - Istra Hotel is truly the most comfortable, modern, the only one on the island of Veli Brijun that has free wireless internet. Rooms renovated, modern, very comfortable. The island of Veli Brijuni is famous for its natural beauty, but a little modern comfort at the hotel would not hurt either. This is exactly what a hotel Istria stands out from other hotels on the island, and I recommend to everyone that this difference is very important.
