• Grady (7/5): Solid place to stay after arriving at CMB - Hotel Thilon is a fine place to stay after a long flight to Sri Lanka. It's close to CMB airport (10 minute drive) and staff accommodated my early arrival time. Had some issues with my room (A/C and toilet) and staff switched me to better room with zero complaints. Very filling Sri Lankan breakfast. Staff are nice and really want to make the most of your stay. Initial room had issues with A/C and toilet but staff switched me to better room with no complaints. Is this a luxury resort? No. But it works for a quick stay after a long flight.

• Irina (10/5): I recommend this hotel 100% - Everything is very clean and tidy, the bed is white and cozy. The owner is very friendly and caring. It is not far from the airport. If you arrive hungry, do not worry, you will definitely be offered something to eat. There is no such thing
• Chris O. (3/5): Das Hotel ist auf keinen Fall ein 3-Sterne-Hotel!!! - Das Einchecken ging schnell und problemlos. Der Mitarbeiter sprach gut Englisch. Das Hotel liegt nicht weit vom Flughafen entfernt. Die Angaben zum Hotel stimmen nicht: kein Restaurant, kein Frühstück, kein Garten, kein TV im Zimmer. Die Bilder sind fake... Das Frühstück war im Preis inbegriffen- eigentlich hätte ich es vom Preis abziehen können. Das Zimmer war ziemlich schäbig. Mit einem 3-Sterne-Hotel hat das nichts zu tun. Die Buchung des Flughafenshuttles, den ich am Abend vorher für 4h bestellt hatte, erfolgte erst am Morgen, als ich den MA aus dem Bett geklopft hatte. Er bestellte in meinem Beisein ein Tuk-Tuk über die PickMe-App. Es kam dann um 4.20h. Das hätte ich auch allein gekonnt...

• Brian (8/5): - This hotel in an inexpensive option close to the airport. My (long) flight arrived very late evening and all I needed was a nearby location to catch up on sleep. Taxi was organized. It suited my needs well. Would not do so if you're fussy and willing to pay more. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was worthy of any five star hotel.
• josemiguel.ferrandez (1/5): ASQUEROSO, VERGONZOSO, HORRIBLE - NADA El sitio más horrible en el que hemos estado, no pudimos pasar la noche, nos fuimos a las dos horas. Lo cogimos porque estaba cerca del aeropuerto, pero está en unos caminos de tierra a 45 min andando y no tiene nada que ver con la foto. Nos recibio un tío delgado que parecía sucio y f**mado que parecía JC y estaba desnudo con una toalla en la cintura.Nos metieron en una habitación a pie de calle oscura, con el pasillo con charcos y un colchón en la pared. Ibamos a estar solo desde las 23pm hasta las 4am pm pero no aguantamos, nos fuimos a la una. La habitación sucia, holía mal. La ducha estaba en medio del baño sin mampara y no había desagüe, no sé donde iría el agua. Las sábanas y la almohada holían literalmente a PERRO. Había perros que habían estado ahí viviendo SEGURO. Se les oía aullar fuera y no dejaban dormir. Tuvimos que poner la toalla grande de playa encima para pdoer tumbarnos sin vomitar pero aun así empezó a picarnos todo el cuerpo y nos tuvimos que ir. Un sitio que da miedo, a Booking tendría que darle VERGÜENZA ofrecer eso en su web, no sé cómo serán el resto se habitaciones pero esa que tienen en una trastienda es asquerosa.
• Samantha (5/5): Disappointing stay with rooms needing an upgrade for the price - How close it is to the airport I booked a room upgrade, but the room I was given had mould all over the walls, smelled like stale cigarettes and the room window was smashed in the corner and had no way to lock, which is not safe if you were to leave the room. For the price, I wouldn’t recommend, there are other places close by that are for the same price and have better rooms

• ARUN (10/5): Great place to stay close to Airport. - Located very close to the airport , this place is a great value for money. The staff was great and very friendly. Nothing much to say in this regard. The place was worth the money.
• Hannah (10/5): - This was a great stay, we came in late after a long flight and just wanted a place to crash for the night before heading south. It was quiet, clean and cool: we had AC and bed was comfy: a private shower/bathroom. My host was lovely and got up early to make us HUGE breakfast before we caught the train in Colombo. He arranged our (reasonably priced) taxi to the station and gave us free fresh bananas from his yard for the ride. 10/10 for the quick stay. Thanks again
• Alston R (2/5): Close to airport but dirty and unpleasant - The hotel is a 10 minute drive to the airport. The air-conditioning in the room was good. The room was nothing like the pictures, there was mould on the walls and the bathroom door lock broken, the room was generally dirty. Staff lock the gate at 9pm which means to enter the property you must call: for us, this process worked fine but as the staff didn't promptly respond to a late arrival, the guests banged loudly on the gate disturbing us. Upon arrival, we asked the manager to book a taxi for 7am the next day, he didn't do this resulting in us needing chase up when the taxi didn't arrive. When the taxi driver did arrive, he was unsure how to get to the departure terminal - fortunately we had time. Only benefit was the taxi was cheaper than PickMe. I particularly say to tourists spending a final night in Sri Lanka, staying at this hotel is not a pleasant way to end your trip.

• Hadar (8/5): - המארח היה ממש נחמד והיה זמין באמצע הלילה כשהגעתי. יש מזגן וארוחת בוקר כלולה :) לא הבנתי איך עובד המכשיר של המים החמים במקלחת והתעסקתי בזה מלא זמן.
• miada (3/5): - The only thing I like about the property was the staff manager working there. He made a lovely omelette and transitional Sri Lankan curry for us. The property looks nothing like the photos. The cleanliness was very bad ants all over the bathroom. The bathroom smelt bad. There was no duvet cover when I asked for one a big blanket was brought to me. The whole property is moldy outdated and in very bad condition. I wouldn’t recommend it even if for one night.

• Deidre (10/5): Peaceful night's sleep and friendly staff - Peaceful nice rest in a nearby airport hotel. The AC is cold, room very clean, food is great. The manager was ver helpful and assisted is without day trip plans. We were able to store our luggage here after check out. Nothing super fancy with this hotel. But a friendly staff, and quiet evening makes a difference when you have a long day of travel. We had a long layover and only stayed 1 night But will be staying here again, should we visit Colombo.

• Barbara Smits (8/5): Sehr freundliches Personal, super Lage - Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal: Geht sehr auf die Wünsche ein und ist immer erreichbar. Leckeres Frühstück. Die Lage ist optimal, wenn man eine Unterkunft in der Nähe vom Flughafen sucht und auch mitten in der Nacht, wie wir, anreisen möchte (5 Uhr morgens).

Me being a tourist found it too expensive (both room rent and food rate) since I stayed in other places too that too in citys Cleanliness Bathroom had spider nets ants and minimal standards

• Erin (6/5): - The staff/manager were incredibly friendly and helpful. The manager went out of his way to help me out and gave me tons of tips on what sites to see and places to visit. He also helped out when my driver couldn't find the place. The hotel itself is very simple and a bit old. The room was clean and had the basics. It was a bit noisy, but that was from people in the courtyard, so it could have been just because of the other guests that were there at the same time. It worked at well for me as I was only there for one night and not even 12 hours, and while the location is pretty far from the action and somewhat difficult to find, it is very close to the airport, which is convenient.
