Guest Reviews
- Lesley (9/5): Epic setting and a spectacular view. - Loved this setting and the views to the south. Saw lots of rainbows. Comfortable beds, a fireplace, full kitchen and good shower. Lots of books and a jigsaw puzzle you could do in one night. We couldn’t quite work out the stove dials - perhaps leave a photo copy of what the pictures mean. Otherwise we loved it and very much appreciated the details to make us welcome.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Location was quiet and calm. The waves crashing on the beach, calming.
- Pleydell (9/5): Beautiful surrounds. Comfy accomodation. - Gorgeous location. Privacy. Cosy accomodation. Two days prior to attending I received a confirmation email from bookings.com with a lock box code. It was not the right code. Original confirmation email from 4 months prior had the right code in it.

- Thierry (9/5): Highly recommended. - Ciean, spacious, ammenities and site. Nothing
- Lynette (10/5): Delightful - Welcoming view very relaxing The washing machine did not work whatever I did owner was very helpful but alas I wasn’t meant to do my washing😩
- Jenny (10/5): - Stunning location, wonderful views, very well-equipped and clean.
- Sonya (10/5): A beautiful little gem at the bottom of Australia. Short drive to Hastings caves. A great little pub nearby. - This beautiful old home opposite a beautiful quiet beach was a perfect getaway.
A possum visit at night on the veranda.
Stars were so bright.
Definitely visit again. The cleaners were at the bottom of driveway at 10am watching us pack up. On time 10am. Not necessary.
Most hotels in Hobart are an 11am check out now
Maybe have them come 30mihutes after check out ..
- Rebecha (10/5): -
- Tonya (8/5): - Comfortable and warm shack with nice water views.
- Steve (10/5): A very comfortable and pleasant stay. - Great view, comfortable, good facilities and loved the wallabies… especially the white ones. Nothing to note.
- Lyd Lim (10/5): - We had the best time here. The cottage was really cozy, kitchen was well equipped for us to whip up a simple dinner for 4. The fireplace was a godsend as it got very cold that night. It was pitch black when the lights went out, but the stars were brilliant, simply breathtaking. Beds were comfy, we had the best sleep, so therapeutic listening to the waves.
- Anne-Maree (9/5): Beautiful but we need to spend more time there next time. - We were staying in Southport to run the Cockle creek marathon. We arrived about 5 pm at night to be greeted with a beautifulty warm house.
Stunning view over the water,
Spacious with everything we needed and very clean.
Beds very comfortable.
We would love to come back sometime for longer to relax and enjoy the beach.

- Lesley (7/5): Lovely location and views over the bay - The location was perfect for our stop on the way to cockle creek. The property is elevated and overlooks the bay and we had a lovely walk along the beach. Because of the time of year it was very cold and although there was a fire in the lounge area and a reverse cycle air conditioning unit in the dining area, at the back of the property where the bathroom and toilet was situated, there was no heating and it was very cold, none of us could brave having showers in the morning. Maybe the owner could fit a heated lamp in the bathroom? This might not bother some people who are used to the cold.
- Adam (10/5): - Amazing stay and even better location. Highly recommend!! 10/10 😃
- Lewis (9/5): Very pleasant stay - Very secluded. Warm wood fire, beautiful views, and enjoyable, low stress walks. Lovely bright, light, clean home. iPads work better than iPhones for the internet so take both. LAN connect-ability is good however. Nothing
- Glathe (10/5): - Top place if you enjoy nature , silence, ocean, aurora.
Anything what's needed and more.
You start feeling coming home immediatly. No idea.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Location
Views were amazing Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional! - Lovely home in the deep south of Tasmania. Easy to get to from Hobart in a rental Tesla. Covered parking. Exceptional views from the large front windows and balcony. BBQ was clean and worked well. WiFi was good. Not their fault but zero Optus coverage but WiFi is great so minimal inconvenience. DVD player doesn’t work BUT discovered streaming box while troubleshooting player!
- Nathan (10/5): - Beautiful location, we sat and watched the southern lights from the verandah. Short drive to Cockle creek
Good fishing around the corner off the rocky point as well as off the jetty. Would definitely recommend.
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dean (8/5): Excellent accommodation in a super location. - Excellent location and very good facilities. A little bit small and cramped.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -

- Verified traveler (10/5): What a view! - This house was so peaceful that I wish we stayed a week. The view and the sound of the ocean was so relaxing and we had the best sleep on our 14 day trip around Tassie. I woke up early to watch the sunrise and saw in the front yard a white kangaroo!
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Had an incredible (short) time at this property. Quiet and peaceful location with incredible views over the beach. Comfortable beds. Loved the accommodation and will be back!

- Tracey (9/5): Loved it! - Everything! Amazing place, awesome view of the bay, amenities a plenty, comfortable beds and more. Nothing!
- Burgess (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (8/5): - The cottage was close to Hastings caves
- Barry (9/5): Comfortable stay as we tried to see the Aurora - fireplace, views Had to restock toilet paper
- Robert (9/5): Looking forward to a return stay - Location No smart tv
Important Maintenance issue
The downpipe is not properly connected to the tanks so not collecting rainwater while spilling rainwater through the carport
Water running under house will be causing structural damage
- Lynda (10/5): So loved our stay at peaceful Summertime Cottage. Wish I could have stayed much longer - Amazing location, cozy & comfortable. Warm fire with plenty of firewood. Perfect peace & ambience. So close to the beach. Friendly wallabies & birds. Loved the view from every aspect of the house either of the bush or the beach Just needed another blanket or warmer doona on the bed as I like to have the window open a crack for fresh air at night.
- Mark (10/5): Great locations, amazing cottage - Beautiful accommodation in a perfect location, right on the beach! Easy to find. Well equipped with all the kitchen utensils you'd need, and a bonus of food supplies if needed. The wood fire burner was great for cold mornings and the beds were really comfortable. Amazing place and amazing stay! Thanks Felt pretty stupid when we couldn't find the key lock box, pretty obvious when we saw it!
- George (9/5): A comfortable well equipped cottage with a spectacular view to enjoy - It is in a superb location and we wished we had longer to enjoy it. Another bathroom would have been a bonus and there was no storage space to speak of.
- David (10/5): Perfect stay in very warm cosy cottage. Thank you - Didn’t include breakfast. Good location Everything was fine
- JACQUELINE (8/5): - Lovely to arrive to the set fire place and books/dvds.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect - Summertime Cottage has fantastic water views from the comfort of the lounge and front patio so you can't help but relax and enjoy the comforts of the cottage. Generously shared, beautifully furnished, well equipped and very clean.
- Keith (10/5): - Very quite and excellent position overlooking the ocean
- Anne (9/5): Superb - Location was great. It was off season so super quiet. We were able to see the Southern Aurora from the balcony.
- Alyssa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marion (7/5): Was fun. Quite comfy. - Walk across the road to the beach. Log fire. Only one bathroom. No shops in area and local pub closed for meals :(
- Anita (8/5): relaxing - brilliant location - so nice to hear the waves at night
- Katherine (10/5): Summertime cottage was an absolute delight! Crashing waves, a crackling fire and ocean views... - Summertime cottage is a little gem! The house is wonderfully situated right on the water, sensational views - we wished we could have stayed longer. The house was so well equipped with absolutely everything we needed plus more. Beds and pillows were really comfy. Lots of windows and chairs to just sit back and soak up the view with a glass of wine by the fire. We'll be back again :) We should've booked a longer stay!
- Judy (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (8/5): we had a great time - great location kitchen a little cramped
- Robin (10/5): Great location. - The size of the windows gave an excellent view of the beach and the trees which was fabulous.
Perfect distance to the beach. No storage for clothes. Vacuum cleaner stored in the bedroom.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - The view Very hard to find lock box
- Julia (7/5): very relaxing - position overlooking the beach the single beds were like hammocks. they need new mattresses at the least.
- Marilyn (5/5): Passable -
- Karen (9/5): A tranquil and peaceful retreat with outstanding water views. - The view from the property over the water was magnificent. It was an ideal spot to watch the daily bird life and absorb the clean pollution free air. A wonderful place to escape the rat race. The position of the property overcomes any short comings. The simple furnishings are perfectly comfortable and the open fire enhance the overall ambience at night. It was certainly warm and cosy.
- Gillian (7/5): Good -
- Rhysnkaz (8/5): Wild amazing views & a very homey & welcoming space 😊 - the view was amazing & the fire was a very warm welcome to Southport 😊 front screen door
- Clara (10/5): Would definitely stay again - View from the cottage was amazing. Great location. Cottage was clean and comfortable.
- Christine (8/5): - The views, the waves, the fishing comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - So ok the location is amazing. The house itself is lovely and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend to others.
- Sandra (10/5): Great location - Nice cottage with great water views!
- stephen (10/5): Erfect getaway - Would highly recommend this property. Will not disappoint. Everything is so comfortable. Close to the whale statue.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Beautiful spot for view from the house and lovely holiday location. Bit of a problem with a sour milk odor in the house- probably resulted from some spilled milk that couldn’t be accessed to be cleaned quickly. Bed and furniture not fabulously comfortable - very much a beach shack. Great communication and allowed a later check out last minute.
- Joel (10/5): - Our stay at the Summertime Beach Cottage was great. The views from our cottage were awesome and we could fall asleep listening to the ocean. The Tavern is less than 5 minutes away and with friendly staff so the location of the cottage is good. The facilities at the cottage had everything we needed so it was definitely a relaxing and pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Arrived to find cleaners had forgotten to do their job. Owner is interstate and unaware.
Due to some extreme weather the power was out, which meant no water also
With no communication about services we had to find alternative accomodation- very hard to do on 30th dec near Hobart
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet surroundings, lovely view, good amenities for a holiday cottage. Only observation: - it would have been useful to know that the last place to purchase provisions for a self- catering stay is in Dover. The store at the local tavern is completely inadequate, although the tavern itself is a great place for meals and has a very friendly atmosphere.
