Le lieu est magnifiquement décoré, dans une maison élégante au calme avec une vue imprenable sur la jungle et la rivière. La chambre est spacieuse, très confortable et décorée avec goût. Nous avons adoré notre jolie terrasse. Le meilleur point : Maha et son équipe sont aux petits soins et très attentifs ! Maha m'a aidé à organiser une surprise (gâteau + chambre décorée) pour l'anniversaire de mon mari. Le petit déjeuner et les repas du soir sont délicieux, joliment présentés et cuisinés avec des produits du jardin. Une vraie parenthèse dans notre roadtrip au Sri Lanka !

• Myriam (10/5): Amazing place (next time we will stay longer!) - This is a piece of heaven on earth. Such an elegant place. So peaceful and quiet, surrounded by nature. We were lucky enough to be the only guest and we felt at home. The beds were really comfortable, the facilities were clean, we were given privacy and really got the feeling of a very tranquil ambience despite traveling with kids. Maha the manager was incredible, always attentive and making sure we were well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and very good quality, they also accommodated my dietary requirements and made sure that everything was ok at all times.

• Anne (10/5): An absolute gem !! - We initially planned to stay only one night at The Weir House, but we were so completely charmed that we cancelled another hotel just to stay two nights instead — and we have absolutely no regrets. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The hotel itself is stunning, with an incredible decoration that is both stylish and warm. The atmosphere is very intimate, peaceful, and welcoming — we truly felt at home from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious, carefully prepared and full of flavor. The staff were simply amazing: always attentive, kind, and genuinely caring, whether it was helping us find a driver, organizing a massage, or making sure we were comfortable at all times. Being surrounded by jungle, completely immersed in nature, created an incredible sense of calm and well-being. It felt like a little sanctuary, far from everything, where time slows down and you can truly relax. This place is special. A real haven of peace. We would come back without hesitation and highly recommend The Weir House to anyone looking for an unforgettable, soulful, and deeply relaxing stay.

Der Pool war leider recht frisch, wir hatten aber auch etwas Pech mit dem Wetter. Aufgrund der Straßenverhältnisse würde wir keine selbstständige Anreise empfehlen.

• Edward (10/5): Fantastische ervaring - Werkelijk alles was fantastisch! We werden hartelijk ontvangen, het personeel stond al klaar toen wij aan kwamen rijden, om ons te helpen met de bagage. Dushi heeft ons verblijf heel bijzonder gemaakt. Hij heeft ons van alles uitgelegd en meegenomen voor een wandeling door de tuin. Het eten is super lekker. Veel variatie en ontzettend smaakvol. We hebben ook nog een hike gemaakt naar de plantage boven op de berg. Deze locatie is echt een aanrader, alles klopt hier. Jammer dat het na 3 nachten tijd was on te gaan. Wij komen graag terug.

• CMR (10/5): Geweldig verblijf met vriendelijk personeel, heerlijk eten en mooie locatie - We hebben een geweldige tijd gehad bij The Weir House. De manager en zijn personeel waren ontzettend vriendelijk en hartelijk en maakten steeds een praatje waardoor we ons meteen welkom voelden. Het eten was zonder twijfel een van de beste ervaringen van onze hele reis en ook het ontbijt was werkelijk perfect. Daarnaast was de laundry service uitstekend geregeld, snel, netjes en helemaal niet duur. De locatie is prachtig met een rivier in de buurt waar je heerlijk kunt wandelen. Ook kun je fantastisch ontspannen aan het zwembad met uitzicht op de natuur. Dit is echt Sri Lanka op zijn best en we zouden deze plek aan iedereen aanraden.

Staying longer than one night would definitely make more sense. Maha and everyone else were so kind. Everything was thought of to make us feel special. Only the way to the hotel felt a bit long, but that might have been due to our tiredness. We should definitely stay two nights, not just one.

The interior design was truly impressive – stylish, well thought-out, and very comfortable. Big bonus for the great outdoor pool, perfect for relaxing. I definitely recommend it!

Rishi looked after us during meal times and was brilliant. Maha the manager is a fantastic guy and helped us out with some issues we had with train tickets to Ella. He was so helpful and such a nice guy. Food was amazing, both the quality and presentation. A 5 star experience and wish we could have stayed longer. • Nadja (10/5): Amazing stay! - The house is absolutely gorgeous, and we only regretted to not stay longer! The staff was incredible caring and made us feel like at home from the very first second. The freshly cooked food with ingredients from their own garden was absolutely top notch and the place is absolutely perfect to disconnect for a few days. To get there is not the easiest as already mentioned in previous comments, but it’s also not the properties fault.

• Maria (10/5): A cozy and lush oasis in the middle of the forest! - This was the best part of our trip to Sri Lanka. It really feels like you are at home. The staff were a big highlight, very kind and professional, but also friendly. We were tired and ended up spending most of our days at the hotel, enjoying the pool and playing games. The surrounding is magical, tucked in the forest. Rooms are well equipped and comfy. Food was also great.

The place is located in a forest nearby the hill that you can take a walk to if you want. The atmosphere is so relaxing with all the birds singing around and plants of all kinds. The food was great, both local and western dishes. The staff helped us to arrange massage sessions, which made our relaxing holiday even more enjoyable. We’ve had an amazing time here, didn’t want to leave this place!

The manager checked in with us every day and did his best to fulfil all of our needs from adjustments to the room to day trips The hotel is beautiful but the road leading to it makes a horrible first impression. Honestly I thought I had been scammed before I arrived as the location is not only remote but feels off for a luxury hotel. My advice is to fix the road ASAP and give plenty of signage that it leads to the hotel

The Manager Mr, Maha was extremely attentive to our needs and took care of our comfort. He also arranged our further transport. The breakfast served in the outdoor settings was excellent The access to the property is very difficult especially in the dark when we arrived
• Katherine (10/5): Beautiful location and amazing staff - The room and facilities here are amazing. The location is also a beautiful and peaceful spot in the middle of the rainforest. We had some car trouble here and the owner was extremely helpful and allowed us to wait at the hotel while he arranged help from trusted local businesses to get our car fixed. If they weren't fully booked we would have stayed longer.
• Darren (10/5): A Very Special Place To Stay. - I can only echo the wonderful comments about The Weir House. It is a very special place. The food was incredible and the vegetarian choices were excellent. The road to The Weir House is typical of rural village roads and not a problem at all. The local drivers are very used to them. Also we found it very easily using Google maps with no problem at all. Hill walk opposite is lovely but I would recommend the walk to Gampola through the hills. It’s about 2 and a half hours but the scenery is stunning and you get to walk through a tea plantation. You can get a tuck tuck back to The Weir House for 1,000 LKR from Gampola Railway Station (cheaper and more reliable than the train!)
• Abigail (10/5): A real jungle experience! - Our stay was absolutely faultless and all of the staff were lovely. We had a wonderful relaxing stay with some amazing food! It was a beautiful location surrounded by nature, we saw so much wildlife and the noises of all the birds are amazing! The road to The Weir House was quite an adventure which we loved as we felt in the middle of the jungle but does make it harder to access. We visited Kandy in a tuktuk and it took us around 50 minutes but was a beautiful journey, the botanical gardens were stunning. From The Weir House we went to Yala which was an amazing journey with some cultural stops along the way, I would highly recommended our driver Pradeep (SN travel) who the hotel organised for us. Would highly recommend!

• Ilse (10/5): Beautiful getaway in all the rush - The hotel was amazing. We got welcomed very friendly. The manager Maha was super helpful with everything. We got a superior room, which was good. The bed was good, airco worked well and bathroom was clean. Very silent room as well The pool was nice, refreshing and surrounded with nice beds/couches. When we were hanging around, the manager came to us and asked if we would like to have a drink We have had dinner, which was really well served. The local food was good, not too spicy, had some nice wine and the manager made us very happy with his service again. The location of the dinner is super romantic in a garden (when its dry) The manager adviced us to try the sri lankan breakfast, so we did. And he was right! Really nice and more than enough food The location of the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, in the jungle and close to a river. There are some nice views around the hotel, really silent We liked all if of it. The road towards it is a bit bumby. If you take the time, it will work out. we would suggest to put a sign somewhere along the road of the hotel.

• Whelan (7/5): Good - The room was beautiful. Lovely breakfast. Fabulous living area and the staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately when we visited there was a powercut. We had no Wifi for the entire stay and limited electricity. The weather meant we couldn’t get on a spice tour so that was a pity but out of control of the weir house. We would have preferred a more Sri Lankan menu for the dinner time. Musty smell in the bedroom.

A very nice manager full of kindness, elegance and class. All the staff pleased us. Interiors made of the highest quality materials, beautiful swimming pool with a view. Surrounded by nature. You can relax wonderfully in this place. -

Comfortable well-appointed residence; top quality food and beverages, hosted exceptionally by Maha and butler service by Dana. We felt very spoilt. The road to the property can be hard to navigate, but your driver can simply contact Maha for direction.
• Sharpe (10/5): A fairytale luxury house in the woods. - Everything that this guesthouse has to offer. The staff Maha and Dana, and others are exceptional. The care, kindness, consideration that was shown to us was outstanding. The food was superb, served with such grace and ever so accommodating to our needs at all times. We were treated like royalty. Please update the details on booking as we could pay by card and the information on booking said we couldn't.

Very nice rooms, very good service and a nice communal living and dinning area. Food good. A nice walk around some authentic tea plantations. Had two nights and recommended that as a brake to a hectic schedule. A bit out of the way.
