Le petit-déjeuner et la piscine au top! Beaucoup de petites choses cassées ou hors d'usage (hammam, jacuzzi, lit qui grince énormément, porte de la salle de bain qui ne ferme pas, robinetterie montée à l'envers, rien pour étendre le linge).... Mériterait de petits investissements pour remettre à flot le logement.

• Myriam (10/5): Excellent séjour au gite du bonheur - Lieu calme et reposant. Gentillesse du propriétaire et du personnel. Bon petit déjeûner. Belle terrasse avec vue pour notre chambre (chambre double vue mer).
• Zsanett (4/5): Érkezéskor nagyon jónak találtuk, majd fokozatosan kiábrándító: lopnak a takarítók a bőröndből. - A medence szép volt, abban azért tudtunk fürdeni. Maga a ház elrendezése először imponáló volt, azonban a tisztaság nem volt azonos szinten. 4 éjszakát voltunk itt, de bőven sok volt. A házat a növények teszik széppé, mert itt tartózkodás közben kiderült: koszos, csótányok vannak, beázik. A konyha is koszos, az edények elég gusztustalanok, sok a hangya. Nem volt szó róla, hogy bejárkálnak a szobáinkba, nincs lehetőség, hogy kirakd a Ne zavarjanak! táblát. Ott tartózkodásunk alatt az egyik szobából (6-an voltunk, 3 szobát béreltünk) eltűnt egy nagyobb összeg. A tulajdonos sajnálkozását fejezte ki, azt mondta, ilyen még nem történt, az alkalmazottak régebb óta dolgoznak itt, nem érti. Érdekes, hogy 2 szobában vettük észre, hogy beletúrtak a csomagokba, a harmadikban nem, és pont azt a kettőt takarította ugyanaz a takarítónő, ezt a tulajdonos is megjegyezte, mégsem “vette elő” a takarítónőt!! A reggeli szegényes és minden reggel ugyanaz. A gyümölcssaláta nem friss, a közösen használt hűtőben van elhelyezve órákig, ha nem fogyik el, másnap smoothie lesz belőle… Szóval keressetek inkább másik szállást, mert ez nem ajánlom senkinek!!!

• Sabena (3/5): - The Host Robin was very kind, and attentive. The pool was lovely. The car hire services is amazing saves us the hassle of hiring vehicles from the outside. While the location was convenient, certain areas require alot of attention. 1. The ants, whilst I understand that this is beyond the Hosts control but I think that regular treatment in and around the premises will assist with this. I had ants in the room, my bed and even in our clothes in our bags.. 2. The bedding need serious attention, they aren't white they are discolored and very unkempt, I itched and ended up with huge red bites on my legs and body sleeping on this bed. When we got there there was unknown persons hair on my pillows and I refused to use them creating my own pillow with my clothes. I had to request a change of linen, even then I wasn't happy. The room is dark, drabby and very very old, with dust in all corners, seriously upset me that I had to live in these conditions for 8 days and we paid a substantial amount for this accommodation and finding alternate accommodation was not within my budget. These rooms could do with a serious upgrade and remodeling, I am not talking about all the other rooms, as i didnt see the others, because when we asked for a change of room because of the ants etc we were given insecticide spray to combat the "problem" The helpers weren't very attentive, and our apartment was not swept or mopped in the time we stayed there, the only thing that was done was the making up of our bed or the changing of linen when we requested. Mugs weren't removed from the rooms and in one week that we were there our tumblers in the room weren't changed nor washed. The basins weren't cleaned, I had to wipe this every day myself. Breakfast was the same thing every day, and some days we had additional "protein" in the form of ants in our baguettes and buns, so much so that I went to breakfast on 1 day and opted to stay away the rest of the time. The shower was dark and dingy, I absolutely hated this place.

• Maja (9/5): Perfect - We really enjoyed every aspect of our trip and the accommodation. We rented a car and spent most of our time exploring the island, so unfortunately we didn’t have the chance to enjoy the pool at the property. The host was extremely kind and helpful, which made our stay even more pleasant. We would love to return in the future. Breakfast was tasty, and we appreciated the self-service concept in the kitchen. If you plan to cook your own meals, it might be a good idea to check the available kitchen amenities with the host in advance. The car was not particularly fast or powerful, but it suited our needs and we were satisfied with it. We did not use the gym, so we cannot comment on the equipment.

Location super out on patio with tropical plants/pool & bird life surrounds - very calming I didnt trust myself to hire a car (my 1st visit there) & so was reliant on outside help butTook next time will plan better. Did however use the local bus for an outing & loved the route we took and the chance to mix with the locals - so not all bad

• Калмыков (2/5): quality/price is not good - Overall, the view of the mountains is good (but there is some strange construction nearby) It says breakfast is included. But in reality, they just give each room a basket with two croissants and a loaf of butter. It gets old fast. The owner argued for a long time, saying that no French person eats eggs for breakfast. Then he finally agreed to at least make us some scrambled eggs—that's a plus. But the attitude towards other guests was absolutely terrible. They brought us breakfast, and other guests watched and wanted it too, but the staff refused to cook anything for them. Basically, if you're expecting a full breakfast or a buffet, this isn't the hotel for you. The photo shows a tennis court, but you can only use it if you have tennis rackets and balls ((I doubt many people bring these on vacation)) The owner is insincere. When we asked a simple question, "Where can I get lunch?" he'd answer, "Oh, there are tons of restaurants there." Ultimately, we struggled to find anything. There was often no hot water. The lock in the room kept jamming. We paid extra for a room with a view, and it was impossible to sleep in. The air conditioner is located right above the bed, so you could catch a cold. There are no bartenders there, like in the photo. The massage tables are dusty, the doors creak, and the refrigerator, which only contains butter, is locked. So, if you decide to make yourself a sandwich and take your rightful butter, don't expect to eat. I got the feeling the owner is a cheapskate.

• Patrícia (8/5): Cozy e sossegado, contudo devem optimizar. - O alojamento é cozy e sossegado. O staff simpático e preocupado. Achei as toalhas encardidas, podiam melhorar/renovar a wc e o pequeno almoço era sempre igual.
• Dominique (6/5): Rapport qualité-prix mauvais - Le cadre et le charme du complexe. N'ayant pas de véhicule, Robin nous a gentiment accompagné pour nos excursions et nous le remercions. Nous avons apprécié la vue de notre terrasse, notre salle de bain et notre chambre spacieuse. La piscine est plutôt agréable et globalement établissement très calme. L'établissement manque de propreté, équipement vétuste et très mal entretenu. Petit déjeuner basique et sans prétention malgré l'idée séduisante d'une cuisine commune partagée. Attention, les distances annoncées ne sont pas tout à fait la réalité (notamment entre la guest house et le centre ville). Un véhicule est vivement recommandé.

• Sylvain (6/5): Rapport qualité/prix mauvais voir très mauvais. - Gros plus pour la salle de sport Nous avons réservé ce gîte en nous fiant à sa note de 9,2/10 et à son grand nombre d’avis positifs sur Booking, ce qui est assez rare. Jusqu’ici, nous n’avions jamais été déçus par un logement aussi bien noté, mais il faut une première fois. J’espère que mon commentaire sera utile au propriétaire (par ailleurs sympathique), car s’il ne redresse pas rapidement la barre, la note risque de chuter encore davantage : elle a déjà baissé de 0,3 point en une semaine. Nous n’avions encore jamais séjourné dans un logement aussi sale pour ce niveau de prix. Il y avait de la poussière partout, douche horrible (cheveux coincés dans l'évacuation, calcaire sur les murs), des taches sur tous les draps et serviettes. A plus de 120 € la nuit, ce n’est pas acceptable et c'est une grande première pour nous. Durant notre séjour, tous les clients en parlaient entre eux : chacun était surpris de la saleté et du manque d’entretien. Je tiens à souligner que je ne suis pas du tout maniaque donc je n'ose imaginer la réaction de quelqu'un un peu plus méticuleux... La salle de sport est elle aussi négligée : équipements rouillés, poussière et crasse omniprésentes. C'est dommage car c'est LE gros plus du gite. Le petit déjeuner est très limité en termes de variété, c'est tous les jours la même chose. Le matelas des lits est très inconfortable (système avec ressort donc à deux c'est compliqué de bien dormir). Il y a beaucoup d'eau stagnante à l'extérieur de le maison (car gouttière pas entretenu par exemple) ce qui fait qu'il y a énormément de moustique le soir. Enfin, l’accès au logement se fait par une route très dégradée.

• Pernille (5/5): Ikke hvad vi troede ud fra andre anmeldelser. - Dejligt morgenbrød og ro i området. God seng. Fitness har hvad du skal bruge. Varmt vand med tryk på. Morgenmaden er uden noget varmt dvs ingen æg mm. Brød, revet ost, 1 skive skinke, marmelade, frugt, cereal, smør er indholdet. En oprydning i fitness ville give mere plads & bedre træning. Dobbeltværelser er meget mørke og udsigten er en væg. Pool er ikke ren og får ingen gennemstrømning/luft. Bar er ikke åben som nogle ellers skriver i anmeldelser. Der er rent på overfladerne men ikke i hjørner og f.eks køleskabet.

The old uncomfortable bed and bathroom was too dark and no toilet roll holder. The shower wood panels were not level. There were no pillow protectors, the pillows were old and discoloured. Dust on lamp.

Nous sommes habitues a venir a Maurice, et c est le premier etablissement ou a l arrivee le proprietaire ne propose meme pas un jus de fruit frais apres le voyage. Le Paiement en cash est sa seule preocupation. La proprete et le menage sont a revoir en totalite (salle de bain et electro menager dans cuisine commune ainsi que vaisselle).

• Jeremy (9/5): Easily home from home. Spectacular property and Mr Robin is a wonderful host, thank you. - Mr Robin has gone to great lengths to make the property feel like home, and it does. Beautifully clean and in a lovely setting. There is a great pool and ample parking for a hire car, which is recommended. My room, the King room was in such a nice position for privacy and the balcony was perfect for me. Highly recommended and Mr Robin is such a nice person and excellent host. Thank you for everything and for allowing me to share your beautiful property. As an Englishman, a kettle in the room would have been nice but a kette is available in the communal kitchen along with 3 different types of oven and 3 gas hobs so not a big problem.
• Balks (8/5): Nice place, great host! - If you are looking for a quiet spot, this is it. All you hear are beautiful birds, no traffic. Keep in mind having a car here is a must (or taxis), to get to stores and restaurants. Room was comfortable, AC worked great. The kitchen was large and available if we wanted to use it.Enough outlets for charging including bedside. Breakfast was OK. The bread and pastries are amazing, but the cheese and ham portion was a little on the light side. Good secure units with good parking. Best thing about it is Robin the host. Super friendly, helpful, and responsive! As mentioned, ham and cheese portions a little small at breakfast. Stepping into the shower is a high step, so you need to be careful.
• Artem (9/5): Superb - The host was very accommodating, the property is in a quiet area, you can rent a car at the property at a very reasonable rate. I enjoyed my stay there. The room should have some mosquito nets or something similar. Besides that there's nothing major to complain about.

The room is big and clean, the pool well maintained, open gym, big kitchen, barbecue grill. The location is good if you exploring the south-west of the island.

Finding the property is not easy at all… even with GPS. Its direction and number should be very visible from the street. Had to have the help of a very nice local man… turned around in the neighborhood before finally finding the Gîte du Bonheur! The access to the pool is not the easiest……

Friendly hosts. - I had the pleasure of staying at Le Gite du Bonheur booked through Booking.com, and I must say it was an amazing experience. Clean room and beautifully decorated. The bed was comfortable which made a perfect night's sleep. Exceptional service provided by the hosts and employees. We were always greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality.

• Alan (1/5): Very disappointed - The bed was comfy despite the headboard being covered in stains Despite robb asking us not to give a review, I think people need to know how bad this property is As we work in hospitality ourselves, I expect an honest review. This property was the worst I ever stayed in. And we have travelled the world. From the dirt in the bathroom and bedroom and the so-called breakfast, not to mention the cockroach running over the top of me in bed. It's in the middle of no where. No facilities or amenities in walking distance. I can't understand why the reviews for this property are so good. I wish I had Googled the reviews before I booked. We did check out and got a full refund for the last remaining days.

• Megan (6/5): Friendly hosts, but rundown accommodation for the price paid - It was nice to stay in a residential area, with a beautiful view of the mountain. The grounds for the Guesthouse are very leafy and it does feel like you are in the rainforest almost. Breakfast was nice and generous, we really enjoyed it each day and it was a good chance to meet the other guests from around the world out on the beautiful veranda. The pool is excellent with nice sun loungers and the hosts were friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned every day and we had plenty of towels. The room was fairly run down, there was plenty of space but it was somewhat shabby, which I had read in other reviews. We wouldn't have minded this but the Guesthouse was expensive versus 4 star accommodation we stayed in elsewhere on the island which was much cheaper. Furthermore, we couldn't pay through Booking.com which was a big disadvantage, because when we came to pay the rate was £50 higher than what had been noted on the website due to "rate changes/currency fluctuations" and I didn't think that was great. Also most of the places on the island we stayed had free laundry facilities, this had to be paid for, and there was corkage for bringing your own alcohol even though the room had a fridge. I found that all a bit strict and not the generosity we received at other accommodations where we stayed. I would definitely say 3 star and unfortunately we wouldn't choose to stay there again, but it wasn't bad, we did have a pleasant stay and it was a good base for exploring the West Coast because there was not a lot of other accommodation available by the time we booked. You would also absolutely need a car to stay at this place, as it is far from the Tamarin town itself.
