• Don (10/5): Fantastic apartment near Petit Champlain - Fantastic location, roof deck had beautiful view of the river and a gas BBQ that I was not sure would work. We stayed in the summer and the one AC unit was in one of the bedrooms, so we had to run it all day with the bedroom door open so that it would cool more of the apartment. The bathroom is spacious with an interesting set-up: a tub on the left, a step up to the washer and dryer in the back wall, and the toilet, shower, and sink on the right. Kitchen was ready for use and we easily cooked our dinner procured from Le Grand Marché de Québec (take Uber). The apartment was not cramped like those in many of the old buildings (elevator was quite tight, though). Only one of the front windows would open and the other had to be propped open. Fabric couch was overly dirty, did not want to sit on it.

It took us nearly an hour to get in because the given door code was incorrect and no staff were on site. Communication through call center was helpful, though.

Was given two codes for the door which one didn't work! Even just trying to get the TV local channels was impossible. most of the stuff!
• Mai (9/5): Would definitely stay here again - The location was amazing. I lived in Montreal before so am very familiar with the city, and I was satisfied by my stay. The apartment had everything we needed. It does get quite loud on Friday/Saturday nights as there are clubs and bars nearby.

This property does not have anyone on site and it’s next to impossible to contact a real person through their app. Even though they claim you can do so 24x7 you’re just connected to a “bot”. A productive back-and-forth exchange via the app can take hours. Hours!!!! Air conditioning didn’t seem to work well. It was always hot in the room. Couldn’t ever contact anyone about it, just a “bot” in the app that told me to set the thermostat. There is a TV but there is NO TV content provided. Nothing! Not even local channels so you can watch news/weather. I have never encountered that anywhere else! If you want entertainment you’ll need to access whatever you have on your phone. There was a city wide power outage. So the keypad door locks & building code didn’t work. Asking for help or clarification via the app was useless. Wasted over 2 hours sitting in the room waiting for power to return. Very poor design. WiFi stopped working. Took most of a day to contact someone to get that resolved. Finally someone came to reset it. Lots of street noise. My room looked nothing like the photos in the listing.

The carpeting and walls in the entrance foyer to the building and hallways were pretty scruffy. They need to be replaced and repainted. Also, the bathroom in the suite needs to be repainted as it also is starting to look scruffy.

Dried drips of paint on the floor, chipped mirror and cabinet, very basic kitchen equipment. No service whatsoever. We asked in advance for a nice aspect for our room as it was our anniversary… and got a room looking into the inner building void. It doesn’t take much to make an effort and they didn’t. Disappointing.

Metro stop on the corner so easy to get around. Good cafes and restaurants nearby. We came in on a cruise ship in the am and had to use a commercial luggage storage facility until 4 pm check in since there is no reception at the property. Property did provide a 25% discount code to use with bounce or stasher and we had no issues, just a bit inconvenient.

As a couple we would never have booked that.No sheers on bedroom window or living room and other rooms and walkway looked into every room of our appartment, we had no privacy at all. We either had to chose natural light and be on display or use the block out curtains and use artifical light. Bedside lighting was not suitable for reading, lamps are too low. Matress was hard and the whole bed creaked. Not romantic at all. Insufficient teabags provided for 2 people and for the length of stay. I was so looking forward to the room the studio apartment with arched windows as booked. Would not stay here again. Sonder put the blame on Booking.com

When I was booking the Penny Lane building I thought the pictures were exclusively for the place I was booking. Therefore I was very disappointed and upset to be duped into reserving the place that did NOT have the roof top deck. That was very misleading.

The location is absolutely perfect - you're within easy reach of both Old Montreal and downtown, making it ideal for exploring the city. The apartment itself exceeded my expectations. Spacious, spotlessly clean, and decorated with genuine taste. The design strikes the perfect balance - stylish and welcoming without feeling cluttered or overwhelming. You can tell a lot of thought went into making guests comfortable. What really impressed me were the thoughtful touches for short-term stays. They've included essentials like dishwasher and laundry detergent pods, and the kitchen area is excellently equipped. It's clear they understand what travelers actually need. The dining scene right outside your door is fantastic too - Monarque is literally next door and Sesame is just down the block. Both are excellent options. One important note for future guests: this operates more like a boutique BnB managed by a hotel chain rather than a traditional hotel with front desk service. This was clearly communicated during booking, but it's worth mentioning - you won't have on-site staff to address issues immediately. For us, this wasn't a problem at all given how well-appointed and smoothly everything ran. I had the "spacious studio with queen bed".. you can see in the photos... and the picture of the front hallway. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located base to explore Montreal!

• Lori (9/5): Beautiful home away from home just steps to food, shopping, business and trains - The apartment was very clean, spacious, air conditioned and very well-equipped. The location was just a block from the train station and easy walk to site seeing and the waterfront. There were many restaurants and cafes steps away. I enjoyed opening the large windows onto the street in the morning to let in the fresh cool air while having coffee. Sonder consistently offers a luxurious space to settle into and feel at home while away. I will certainly return and settle myself in the same area. While the apartment was well insulated with the windows closed, the latter part of the week, Thursday on, is livelier in the evenings during summer where there is seating on the street below. The apartment was furnished with a sound machine which blocked out most of the noise so I still slept very well. Ear plugs were provided, but I did not need them with the sound machine on. Thanks Sonder for thinking of the conveniences for light sleepers.

Sa localisation était proche du centre ville ce qui nous a permis de faire une grosse partie des visites à pieds. Les informations pour rentrer dans l'appartement étaient précises. RAS

• Bernd (7/5): Im Prinzip ja ABER - Lage am world trade center und an der Metro. Bagel factory und Pizza 900 und Jean contu in der Nähe. Check in war katastrophal weil die App nicht funktionierte. Ohne einen Gast der uns half wären wir nicht ins Zimmer gekommen. Keine Hilfe am Telefon :-( Am Wochenende ist eine Diskothek nebenan mit wummernden Bässen bis 3 Uhr früh. Die Luft vor dem Haus ist Cannabis geschwängert. Kann man also nur in der Woche empfehlen...

• David (8/5): we would book again when in Montreal. - Quiet, very well located and very well equipped. The modern "chandelier" over the coffee table was too low and close to the edge near the TV. I bumped my head on the globe numerous times, which could have been deadly as it is a mains voltage bare globe. The sliding shower door was hung the wrong way (opening from the right instead of the left) so that the shower entry was via the very narrow gap beside the toilet, instead of being able to walk straight in.

Very near Notre Damm and also plenty of restaurants nearby. Nowhere to leave luggage if check in doesn't work for your travel arrangements
