• karin (4/5): - Die Lage in der Stadt ist generell sehr gut. Kurze Wege zum Markt, Bäcker etc. Die Wohnung liegt über einem Gastronomiebetrieb und gegenüber ist ebenfalls ein Lokal, wo eine Vielzahl von Gästen von 19.00 bis weit über 02.00 Uhr hinaus im Freien sitzen. Der Lärm ist unfassbar , nur mit geschlossenen Fenstern ist es etwas gedämpfter. Eigentlich hatten wir 2 Schlafzimmer gebucht, gab dann eine Schlafcouch im Esszimmer, die zum Schlafen total ungeeignet war ( kaputt und sehr klein).

• Emily (4/5): No charm - The location was the best part about the property as was close to the main cuty and lots of bars and restaurants. It was noisy until very late though. The photos did not match the apartment that we got at all. If we were staying more than one night we would have complained about this as our place was pretty small and dingy without much of the charm which was the reason we booked it. The beds were also incredibly uncomfortable.

Fully equipped kitchen, but who wants to cook when in Italy? Sometimes bathroom smelled even when clean, but I think this was due to old sewage. Also higher floors not accessible by strollers/wheelchairs, only staircase available.

L'emplacement est parfait, sur une place animée le soir avec des bars sympas, et très proche de la piazza del Duomo. La terrasse privée sur le toit est un vrai plus. Le bâtiment donnant sur une place animée le soir, un peu de bruit filtre malgré les double vitrages. Mais avec des bouchons d'oreille c'était parfait!

Il personale è stato molto cordiale e disponibile nell'accoglierci e supportarci nelle richieste - come anche il deposito bagagli al di fuori dell'orario di check-out. La casa, come da foto, ha uno stile vintage molto, molto carino Come segnalato, è necessaria un pò di manutenzione. Tuttavia, il proprietario e Sara, sono stati molto educati a prendere sul serio i miei commenti e sono intervenuti post-soggiorno con tutto quello che potevano fare.

• crifo (10/5): Il festival del riciclo intelligente - Molto originale, pezzi unici di arredamento ottenuti dal riciclo, divertenti e di buon gusto. Letto comodo, splendido terrazzino e camera perfettamente insonorizzata. La porta della doccia che non scorre.
• Jana (7/5): Schräg aber gewöhnungbedürgtig. - Ein besonderes Haus. Tolle Lage. Die alte Einrichtung sieht auf dem ersten Blick schön schräg aus. Trotzdem hat man intuitiv das Gefühl in einem abgenutzten und „schmuddligen“ Ambiente zu wohnen. Alte Sessel. Es war sauber, trotzdem konnte ich mich mit dem Bad nicht anfreunden. Der Boden gab vor der Toilette nach und war etwas eingesunken. Der Toilettensitz war locker. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass der Boden nicht mehr ganz stabil ist. Das Haus ist sehr alt. Die Lage ist phantastisch. Die Bar gegenüber ist nett und es gibt immer Musik. Auf dem Balkon zu sitzen und die Szene zu beobachten war schön. Der sanitäre Bereich und es gibt kein Spülbecken in der Küche.

Die Bars machen nicht so viel Lärm wie wir es aus Berlin kennen. Wenn man beide Fenster schließt, kommt davon fast nichts an. Dafür hat man kurze Wege zu allem, was als Reisender von Interesse sein könnte.

• catharine (8/5): In the heart of our favourite area of Catania in a beautiful vintage apartment with sun terrace - This is a fabulous property right in the middle of the most vibrant areas of Catania - on your doorstep are the main squares, the Fish Market (also sells meat, fruit, vegetables) restaurants, bars and a variety of shops. The flat was full of character and the terrace was a lovely place to sit in the sun. The beds were comfortable and the heating / air con worked perfectly at cooling or heating the rooms effectively (the weather during our stay ranged from hot and sunny through to intense thunderstorms so we did use the heat function a few times). Where we stayed was above some bars, which we went to every day, and it was really great to sit on our balcony and listen to the music - there was a great pianist one evening. The windows and shutters are effective at reducing the sound significantly when you want an early night. The kitchen is small, and doesn't have an oven, which is worth knowing. It didn't impact on us as you can pick up pizzas for six euros, baked goods, kebabs, chips etc from nearby places. Eating out ranges from cheap and delicious through to upscale/Michelin. You get to the property through a small private courtyard so you feel very safe. Nearby is Piazza dei Libri with some fabulous bars and the night bookshop. Big shout out to Gammazita and their excellent cocktails / wine and Lettera 82 (both the one in Piazza dei Libri and the one near the fish market) for the best chips in Catania and authentic Sicilian food to suit all tastes. We found the wifi a little spotty at times, absolutely fine for 99% of the time but struggled a bit with full on teams meetings. There were two wifi points though which helped. If you plan to have a lot of teams / zoom meetings you might want to make sure you have enough phone data as a back up plan.

• Francisco Angel (7/5): - The room is located in the center, super close to the main square and restaurants in Catania. The bedroom was very cozy and the bed very comfortable. Overall, it is a good place to stay. Bathroom was not very comfortable, neither clean.
• Stefania Fries (10/5): Perfekt! - Kontaktlose Schlüsselübergabe mittels Code, welcher über whatsapp gesandt wurde. Überhaupt hat die Kommunikation bestens funktioniert. Die Wohnung "Odissea" ist sehr originell und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Man erreicht sie über eine Treppe und befindet sich im 3. Stock. Für gehbehinderte Personen eher nicht geeignet. Die Lage ist sehr zentral, in kürzester Gehdistanz zum Duomo, zur Kirche Sant'Agata, zum Fischmarkt, zur via Etnea, zu Bars und Restaurants. Es hat in nächster Nähe Parkplätze auf öffentlichem Grund. Wir können die Unterkunft Palazzu Stidda sehr empfehlen! ---

• Anne-Sophie (10/5): On ne rêve que d’une chose y retourner… ❤️ - Je ne sais pas quoi dire tant cet appartement nous a charmé. C’est clairement le coup de cœur de notre tour de Sicile. Les couchages sont très confortables. L’appartement est plein de charme avec sa déco, style brocante et récup. Le checking en autonomie est super facile. Quand nous sommes arrivés on a eu un peu peur en voyant les cafés et les bars juste en dessous, on s’est dit que ce serait super bruyant, mais il y a des doubles fenêtres et on entend absolument rien dans l’appartement. C’est très calme, et ça permet d’être dans le cœur de la ville dès que l’on met le nez dehors. Il y a absolument tout ce qu’il faut dans cet appartement, les cerises sur le gâteau, un lave-linge et un sèche-linge nous a permis de laver nos affaires en milieu de parcours. Il y a aussi une terrasse pleine de charme. Nous avons tout aimé, cet appartement est tout simplement incroyable!

Unterkunft mit viel Liebe zum Details renoviert ohne den Charme zu zerstören. Betten mit Duvets. Sehr nette und gut erreichbare Gastgeber. Kontaktloses Check-in. Eher laut, da gleich unterhalb der Unterkunft zwei Bars sind, die bis spät in die Nacht offen haben. Ein Fenster lässt sich nicht mehr schliessen, was gerade in den Nächten ungünstig ist. In der kalten Jahreszeit eher kalt. Die Räume können aber mit den Klimagerären beheizt werden.

• Sofia (9/5): Proprietà centrale con gusto retró - Bellissimo gusto retró, abbiamo apprezzato molto questa sistemazione. È sicuramente adatta ad un gruppo di amici o ad una famiglia dato che le stanze sono tutte comunicanti. Le scale a chiocciola pero rende difficile l’entrata di passeggini o carrozzine. La posizione è perfetta La pulizia è probabilmente l’unico punto da migliorare, in generale era pulita e ci siamo sentite a nostro agio ma alcuni dettagli potevano essere migliorati.

• Ibu Wenda (10/5): Fantastische Unterkunft mit einzigartigem Flair in toller Lage - Ein Schatz im hippen Viertel von Catania! Versteckt in einem Hof, betritt man das Haus und fängt sofort zu Staunen an! Die Dekoration, Ausstattung, Ausstrahlung - eine Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit, Recycling und Upcycling, Schätze wie in Museen. Atmosphäre grandios. Gemütliche Terrasse. Um die Ecke hippe Bars und Restaurants und auch die Shoppingmeile Catanias liegt in Laufnähe. Die Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin war sehr gut, wir hatten ursprünglich ein kleiners Apartment gebucht, konnten aber innerhalb des Hauses problemlos umziehen.

• Erika (6/5): Sehr gewöhnungs Bedürftig, aber okay. Im Lokal gegenüber jede Nacht Musik und Party - Die ruhige Lage Sehr kompliziertes Einchecken Wir hatten an 3 Tagen kein heißes Wasser, Wir wussten nicht, wie der Müll entsorgt wird. Am Waschbecken war ein Stopfen verklemmt, wurde nur geöffnet, nicht repariert. Wir sahen nur 1x eine Person. Wir reklamierten das kalte Wasser, aber da wir 2 TEL hatten, wohl an der falschen Nr. Wir möchten den Preisanzug durch Nichtbezahlung der Tourismus Abgabe ausgleichen. ( Ich hatte vergessen, das Geld zu deponieren) Ich erwartete das reparieren der Solartherme wg. Warmwasser, aber es kam niemand, erst am Abreisemorgen 8 Uhr, Abfahrt, gab es heißes WASSER, Tourismus Abgabe von 12€ wird angemahnt, ich denke das ist die Entschädigung für 3 Tage kaltes Wasser!

• Jane (7/5): Enjoyable stay in quirky apartment in the lively city centre - The apartment was in a central location to the city centre tourist sites. Our favourite restaurant (A Putia dell'Ostello) was just around the corner. The bed was comfy, clean rooms, quirky decor added to its charm. The air conditioning worked well. The balcony over the street was fun to sit on and people watch. The wifi kept dropping out as you moved around the apartment which was very annoying, we gave up trying to reconnect and used our data instead. The kitchen didnt have sufficient sockets to plug in the kettle and toaster, so we had to put them in the dining/lounge area. The bar outside the bedroom window is open until 2am every night with music some nights. Fortunately we had to have the windows and shutters closed to keep out the mosquitos so that helped reduce the impact from the noise

• louis (10/5): Perfect! - This is an amazing studio. Look no further. Very cosy and stylish. It is in en quiet street in the very center of the city. Walking distance of the fishmarket. Absolutely nothing.

• mary Ann (8/5): Good value. Great location. - In the middle of everything. Live music and lively bar right outside the windows. Close the doors and you heard nothing. Alittle to rustic but clean. Some of the lights were broke.
• Roussias (6/5): A Unique Stay with Style, Noise, and Accessibility Considerations - The facility is fascinating (both location and architecture wise) exterior is surrounded by a bougainvillea the interior with elements of Sicilian and Italian culture (an actual vespa body next to the dining room etc) dominating the decoration and interior design. Great for young adults 18-35 and visiting the center. The apartment feels somewhat neglected and unclean, but renovations are limited due to strict archaeological laws. It’s located above two noisy bars that stay open late, making earplugs necessary. The two floors are connected by a steep winding ladder, making the place unsuitable for elderly or mobility-impaired individuals.
• Luzia (10/5): Fantastisch - Stilvoll eingerichtet mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Mitten im Ausgang Viertel. Sehr lebendig was wir sehr genossen haben. Sehr sauber und mit Heizung/Klima versehen. Wir haben uns sehr sicher gefühlt.

• Elizabeth (7/5): Beautiful light quirky place in a great location - This is a beautiful house, very quirky and bright. I loved that everything was made of wood. The smallest bed was very uncomfortable! Unfortunately I had that bed and I kept waking with sore hips! (I’m not a big person, I’m quite little!) We had our 76 year old mother with us who doesn’t have great mobility. The stairs were not good for her. It was noisy as the bar downstairs stayed open until 2am

Sehr laut, ohne geschlossene Fenster und Ohrstöpsel konnte man nicht schlafen. Die Dusche ist eine enge Duschkabine mit Holzwänden, wirkt daher etwas unhygienisch. Das Schlafsofa war eher eine Pritsche und sehr unbequem.

• DONNA (8/5): The location was great in that it gave us time to adjust our jet lag while we explored the immediate vicinity…market, du - The location was great and the sound proof windows were most appreciated as the street below is very busy in the evenings. The initial communication with our host was good with clear instructions on how to access the apartment. Subsequent communications were made more difficult by the delay in response of almost 24 hours or not at all. We found the housekeeper and her husband to be very helpful, although we had to catch them when they were there to clean another unit.

• Merrill (10/5): Great and quirky apartment - Very central to everything. There is a bar on the street outside the apartment. The apartment is charming and quirky with everything needed for a comfortable stay. A great location and wonderful atmosphere. Nothing to dislike.

• Angelique (9/5): Lovely quirky apartment in a perfect location - The location is great. Right in the heart of the city, overlooking a very cool bar that wasn't noisy from the apartment even in peak season August. Would have been good to have a kitchen sink as well as one in bathroom if we'd planned on eating in the apartment. But we ate out so didn't bother me.
• Corina (9/5): Funky, functional, fab location. - Super funky details and styling. The shared, common spaces were great. Excellent location. The street is lively with some great bars and restaurants right out front and just down the block. Fantastic. Inside, the noise was muffled. We never go to sleep before midnight so it didn’t bother us. We could hear a bit of street sound when we were going to sleep, but nothing that required earplugs. All good. The air conditioning was OK. We had to keep lowering the temperature. I don’t think it was regulating the temperature properly. And it wasn’t clear that the little kitchenette did not have a sink in the kitchenette. For our short day, that wasn’t a big deal. But, that might prohibit me from staying there longer than two nights.

• Cameron (10/5): - We had a really spacious 3 bedroom apartment, which was perfect for us with 2 kids. The location was great- very convenient for walking and shopping. A bit loud at night but I wear earplugs to sleep so it didn’t bother me. The only thing we couldn’t figure out is where to take garbage. Instructions for various things are written on a door, but it might be helpful to have a host binder with a little more detailed information on how to do certain things. Enjoyed our stay though- very cute.

• Mursel (1/5): Unsafe, uncomfortable, and extremely disappointing, would not recommend. - The style of the apartment was charming and the location was central, which would have been nice under different circumstances. Our experience was extremely frustrating. The electricity kept going out multiple times a day, and I had to walk to another building to reset the fuse box in the heat. The air conditioning often didn’t work, and the toilet on the second floor had mold. There was no hot water at times. The steep stairs, which were not shown or mentioned in the listing, were very unsafe, especially for my pregnant sister. We contacted the host over 10 times with no real help or solution. We even asked for a different room, but none was offered. The support and communication were completely inadequate.

• Kenneth (9/5): Superb - Really cool apartment with older furnitures. The style is something on its own - it's brave and out of the modern style we often see today. I loved it.
