- zoomkitty (10/5): Traveling Through... - Stayed in Beloit as I was traveling through the area on business/pleasure. Did not want to stay in Rockford, so I found Hotel Goodwin. Great place to stay, convenient, friendly. Will stay there again if in the area.

- skyeport (10/5): Exceptional hotel - I booked this hotel without a lot of thought because I was attending a conference in Beloit. It was amazing! My classic king rom was very well appointed and spacious. The bathroom was huge with an amazing shower. The chairs very comfortable in the room. I wish I had been able to visit the rooftop bar and the restaurant. I hope I can visit on vacation someday because this would have been a great hotel to simply relax. Note there is a small exercise room, but if you like to run there is great running path along the river, plus they offer passes to the YMCA. The only thing I wish they would offer is breakfast--if you want breakfast, you need to walk to the bagel shop nearby which is really good. They do offer coffee and water in the lobby. Again, amazing hotel!

- danielswiss64 (10/5): Uber stylish boutique hotel in Beloit. - What a fantastic stay. This hotel is gorgeous and so hip. Like staying in the coolest hotel in NYC. We LOVED our room and it was so comfortable. Loved the open modern shower encased in glass. The design of Theron and the furnishings are great. Nespresso machine is fancy. I would come back here again and again. Also, it is dog friendly which is a plus.

- roberthR2594OA (10/5): A very nice and relaxing weekend - We had a very nice and relaxing weekend. The food was excellent and the look and vibe of the hotel was perfect. It felt more like an experience than a typical hotel stay. The record player in the room was perfect for the vibe for my wife and I. We live between Beloit and Chicago, so both areas were an option. We chose Hotel Goodwin for the price and vibe, and we would gladly go there again. We would’ve ended up paying more than double what we paid to get a similar experience in Chicago.

We live 20 minutes away and love that we can escape to The Goodwin, Velvet Buffalo, The Rooftop, and Henry Dorrbakers. The staff, the ambiance, literally everything is amazing. We can’t wait to come back.
- lmr93012026 (2/5): Goodwin sucks - Checked i to room @ 1pm to drop 2 bags off. My child became ill and i had to cancel all evening plans and my stay. I checked out at 1:30 pm and was charged $213 for being in room maybe 10min. Staff doesnt care. Manager doesnt care. Look elsewhere to stay when in south beloit. Makes no sense for a $213 charge. Thanks for nothing goodwin!

- Eric (10/5): Luxurious and enjoyable. - We had a wonderful night at the Hotel Goodwin. We did feel like it was wonderfully luxurious with bathrobe supplied, a sublime shower, overall a very well appointed room and very comfortable bed. It had a boutique quality to it. We went to Beloit college long ago in the early '80s and it's very apparent that Beloit has gone through some major transformations. This wonderful hotel is a great expression of how Beloit has come back to life. It's got a new fresh energy and it was very nice to have a record player and the vinyl LPs to put on the turntable. Staff was very friendly and informative.

- topopp (10/5): Anniversary Celebration!!! - Loved the hotel! Our two dogs were welcomed too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was that the Rooftop Bar was closed for a private event and we were looking forward to having a drink there and looking at the Christmas lights. Otherwise, the experience was wonderful!

- pcg5150 (10/5): A great Surprise - Living in the Chicago area when moment arrive that warrant a night away from home you almost always to to Chicago. Only one hr from our home is Beloit and I found the Hotel Goodwin online and after a little searching decided to come here instead. It was the best decision I have made for celebrating with my wife. The boutique hotel is amazing from the staff to the very unique styling and furnishings of the rooms. The glass enclosed shower was very cool. What got my attention was that I travel almost weekly and spend a lot of time in hotels and not just travel hotels. I see paint chipping in those rooms or over all lack of excitement to be at work. the travel hotels are just tired looking and cost the same as the Hotel Goodwin. This hotel is spectacular. The cleanliness and professionalism will win anyone over just like it did us. I am coming back and want to come back in the summer months Beloit is redone downtown and the group that owns this hotel has other properties including a great coffee shop which we went to the morning we left. Come here you wont be dissapointed.

- Julia (6/5): - When we first entered the hostess was on her phone, we didn't know if it was work related so my husband and I stood in front of the reception desk talking so she would know we were there. We stood there for probably 3-4 minutes until she finally looked up and after realizing we were there said "I'm so sorry" and put her phone away. There were large cobwebs in the corners of our hotel room. The "continental breakfast" was prepackaged muffins and doughnuts with a couple of sad looking bananas and apples and some coffee. The shower was cool and the bed was comfortable.

- buttonskc (10/5): Chic and Boutique in Beloit! - This hotel had the feel of a downtown Chicago stay. I especially loved the boutique feel with black ceiling in the bedroom, and black tile on the bathroom floor. The turntable and records in each room was indeed a throwback and felt very cozy. Parking right next door is extremely easy and the Saturday morning Farmer's Market is not to be missed!

My only complaint was that the toilet paper was not as plush as everything else in the room and that the lounge was closed at 9:00 p.m. on a Thursday night so there weren't any in-house options at that time.

Had dinner at the Velvet Buffalo which was simply incredible. finished the night at the rooftop bar, and then enjoyed the modern amenities that still pay tribute to rock-n-roll history. This is a fabulous place to stay.

The records in each room was a nice surprise. The hotel rooms are quiet which is so important. The decor is stunning throughout. We didnt expect this in Beloit. This type of hotel would be expected in a large city for 3 x the price. Great find.
- Dirk (10/5): Jewel of a Hotel in Beloit - A shockingly beautiful renovation of an old office building in downtown Beloit. I had a bright large nicely outfitted corner room which I loved. Whatever D Hendricks politics, she has done an enormous amount to rehabilitate her "home" town. The open shower might be disconcerting to some. I loved it. I hate the cheapness of roku TV when all I want is a local weather forecast.

Great set up we went two years in a row to celebrate our anniversary. We ate at the restaurant downstairs food was delicious. We didnt get to enjoy the rooftop our 2nd time due to a wedding party. Someone is sharing our anniversary date so they will last forever like us ...

The only negatives were the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable and we didn’t get much sleep. The location of our room also was loud due to traffic in the morning. - cristinecrom (10/5): Loads of fun - We stayed in the Goodwin Hotel for one night only - and it was a delightful and fun stay. Indeed, our room had a working record player, with some vinyls to play (and more available at the desk). Our room was spacious and nicely appointed, with interesting art and large windows; there was some street noise as the hotel is located on a main road through town, but not enough to be bothersome. The bathroom was also spacious and super clean; the shower was fabulous with a rainforest shower head plus the more typical wall one. The restaurant downstairs, Velvet Buffalo, was elegant, with gracious staff and a good menu and wine list. There is a rooftop bar. Although not technically a "bed and breakfast," in the morning there was a small buffet of coffee, muffins, fruit, and snack bars.

I would have appreciated being notified that the roof top had an event planned when I made our reservation as we were really looking forward to enjoying the roof top bar and we did not have tickets. The record player didn’t work and staff tried to fix it but couldn’t! It had no volume and what it had was very tinny.
- Aaron (10/5): Quick stop with dogs - A wonderfully warm welcome after a long drive. The staff was tremendously welcoming upon our 10 pm arrival. The room was spacious and elegant. It perfectly accommodated our family of 5 plus 2 dogs. The staff provided a neat gift bag for our pups. I highly recommend this historic and charming hotel to all.

- Dina (10/5): - I chose Hotel Goodwin for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. I have never heard of it, nor have I been to the area but a simple Google search for "Romantic getaways in Wisconsin" gave me this option. It's the cutest boutique hotel with so much attention to detail. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The design of the room is stunning. The bar on the roof top was amazing with great staff. The restaurants that are a part of the hotel group were fantastic as well. The Velvet Buffalo was so delicious but across the street at the Merrill & Houston's steak house was incredible. Best steak I've ever had! We will definitely be coming back here!

- Edith (6/5): - This is an adult hotel for couples designed for a man's pleasure. The hallways are dimly lit, and decorated with black carpet and doors. There are murals of women's bodies on the elevator door and throughout the building. In the middle of the room is an all-glass shower for voyeur interests and the like. Fingerprints were found on the glass which made the shower feel unclean. Patrons are not ethnically diverse. Staff appear uncomfortable with patrons who do not look like them. Patrons were offended a glass of champagne upon check-in while we were not offended the same.

The roof top atmosphere and bartender made drinks by scratch. A wide selection of beverages. Strongly recommended. Will go back !

Only drawback I see is parking.I think guests of the hotel should get preferential parking due to lack of when the restaurant is busy. I had to move my car twice so it didn’t get towed when I was forced to park into another business parking.
