• Frances (8/5): Great location - Great location in the centre of Comrie. Given a good trip for a circular walk around Comrie which was really enjoyable. Good size room with 4 poster bed Main hotel was having work done on the floors so quite a bit of disruption to space and limited hotel facilities. Wi-Fi in room was poor.

• Lauren (9/5): Wonderful - can't wait to go back... - Though our room was smaller than expected, it was comfortable and, in the end, we didn't need it to be any bigger. Everything else was amazing. Drinks and dinner by the fire in the main bar, drinks and games in the library, yummy breakfast in the dining room. The staff were wonderful! We will be back - can't wait for our next visit...

Tunsi saapuneensa Skotlantiin. - Sijainti oli pienessä Comrien kylässä keskeinen ja meidän työmatkamme liikkumisten kannalta hyvällä paikalla. Royal hotelli on hyvin kodikas ja viihtyisä. Saapuessamme kylmänä arki-iltana, baarin ja oleskelutilan takoissa paloi tuli, joka loi tunnelmaa. Hyvä lisä, että hotellissa on myös baari ja ravintola. Aamiaisella huomioitiin erinomaisesti myös ruoka-aine allergiat. Huoneet olivat pieniä, mutta erittäin siistejä. Kylpyhuone oli hiljan uusittu. Kaikki toimi hyvin. Brittihenkeä sisustuksessa ei oltu lähdetty häivyttämään modernimmilla ratkaisuilla. Aamiaisbuffet-pöytä olisi voinut olla runsaampi ja monipuolisempi. Sänky huoneessa oli houkutteleva runsaine tyynyineen, mutta vanhuuttaan jo natiseva.

• Dr. Peter (10/5): We spent two really joyful and relaxing days. - A wonderful place in the countryside to spend some comfortable and relaxed days. The staff is very attentive and friendly. You have the choice for lunch and dinner whether you prefer the traditional and cosy bar or the restaurant. The menu is varied and the quality of the food is excellent.
• Alistair (10/5): - We were in Comrie for a funeral which the hotel did all the catering for. Lovely, friendly staff and excellent facilities. Recommended. All good.
• Barbara (9/5): Traditional Scottish sporting hotel - The Royal is a traditionally furnished hotel, with a Scottish hunting scene ambience. The room was comfortable, with plenty of hot water & tea/coffee supplies & a kettle. There were a lot of extra cushions/pillows on the bed, which look great but it's difficult to find somewhere in the room to put them when you want to go to bed! The breakfast was extra to the room rate, with a basic fee for the continental option & more for a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately there were no gluten free cereals, the only GF continental option was toast, so we had to choose the cooked breakfast. This was unusual for our experience of Scottish hotels on this trip, most places now have some sort of gluten free cereal option.

• Karlo (9/5): - We had a great short stay at the Royal. The staff were wonderful - responsive, professional and accommodating, and just lovely, warm and genuine people. We were offered a travel cot for our baby without even asking. The hotel itself is very pleasant, the room was large enough, spotlessly clean, and had all the basic amenities for our trip. The breakfast was exceptionally tasty. There is a lovely vibe about the place overall.

• Neredith (10/5): - This was our second stay at the Royal. The staff were very friendly, and the meals are fabulous (we had dinner and breakfast there.) It is a very quaint little town, with some lovely walks nearby. Would stay again. My teenage daughter didn't love seeing the animals on the wall, or stuffed animals on display. However, understand this is part of the history of the area/hotel.

• JENNY (10/5): - Every time we come back to the Royal, it never ceases to disappoint. The staff are the people who make this such a special and charming hotel. The warmest of welcomes and we were so well taken care of. Attentive and polite customer services, similar to that of Ashford Castle, that seems to be lost in many establishments these days. The only complaint we had, was that the bedroom was cold even with the small radiator up to its maximum temperature, and the fires had not been lit in the bar area or the library. (It was 5 degrees outside). The reason given was the chimneys hadn’t been swept. So bring jumpers and warm pyjammas! Overall, though, I would always recommend this charming hotel, situated in the heart of glorious Perthshire. Food was great, good wines, board games in the library. Just please have the fires lit, as would be expected in an old coach house, and to compliment the warm welcome that was given by the staff. The room was immaculate. And beautifully decorated. (Room 4- a twin) Other restaurant to book within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, is the Deil’s Inn, and also the Deil’s Cauldron walk can be done easily from the hotel. Lots of lovely local shops and cafes within 2 minute walk. And if you are going to any events at Crieff Hydro, but would prefer the old style charm of a place, go to The Royal in Comrie, an easy drive to and from any events in Crieff. Long live the Royal Hotel and all those who work there! Thank you for your kind hospitality.

• Di (9/5): Wonderful place to stay to experience true Scottish hospitality - The Royal Hotel was a wonderful traditional Scottish hotel perfect for a visit with friends from Australia. It was stylish and very comfortable with a warm welcome from staff. The breakfast and dinner were both very enjoyable. Can’t think of anything not to like!

Then met staff on duty Sunday night and they were so friendly welcoming efficient. Food was simple but as good as we have anywhere. Will definitely have then on our stay list when we are next within an hours drive of Comrie nope cant think of anything

• Susan (5/5): Just about ok for a two night stay in January. Urgent renovation of upstairs rooms needed. - Very comfortable downstairs. Good sitting area, good dining room, good staff and good food. Upstairs/bedrooms. The carpets in both the passageway and our bedroom were filthy and very old. More like a worn old blanket in our bedroom (#4). Our bathroom had no heating, and a shower with no working water temperature tap. We couldn’t use it for both those reasons.

• Tusleam (9/5): Great hotel! - Very comfy bed. Great friendly staff and great location Was cold when I got up and heating was not on until later.
• Lucy (6/5): Stay in Crieff - The public areas in the hotel were nice. The bedroom wasn't very clean, the bedding and pillows had dirty marks (food I think, bright orange) and tears in the material. In general, not great and a bit run down. For the price we paid (£130) I definitely expected better. Also £20pp for breakfast is very high, for reference, I work in a 4* Hilton and we are £17 and have a lot more options, and the pastries were also very stale. Frustratingly no taxis to get home after a wedding at Comrie Crieff so booking a hotel nearby felt very pointless when we struggled to get there and back (5 minutes taxi was £20!) Staff were pleasant but both the reception and breakfast staff seemed fed up and were a bit short with us and others. Wasn't awful but massively overpriced for what our experience was, would not stay again. Disappointing

• Candace (8/5): Very good - This is a lovely cozy hotel with a nice bar in the centre of Comrie. Sadly due to some staffing issues, the kitchen was closed but they very kindly let us tuck into some fish n chips in the bar area providing us with plates and cutlery. The staff were very accommodating and let us have an early check in as well. It would have been better if the restaurant had been open as it's truly a great place to eat but I understand the difficulty the are facing.

• Howard (5/5): Very disappointing direction from a hotel that used to be very good. - They no longer do food in the adjoining pub. There were no other options apart from a chip shop. It was a seven mile drive to the nearest restaurant.
• Margaret (10/5): One night stay - Hotel was lovely , very comfortable and very clean No restuarant facilities while we were staying , totally understand the reason as they did not have a chef and how difficult it is to hire a chef at this time . I was informed the day before my arrival so was able to make alternative arrangements.
• Helen (8/5): Very good - Location was perfect for us visiting the bike trails at Comrie Croft. Breakfast was lovely, especially the fresh berries, just a pity it was continental since the restaurant was closed, but we were aware of this when booking. The receptionist who welcomed us was super, apologised for the restaurant being closed but told us we could take our chips into the bar on the corner! A very welcoming feel all round, decor is lovely and although our room had bits n pieces that were worn I liked the authenticity to it! Just a wee bit pricey
