• Benjamin (10/5): - Die Unterkunft ist gut. Es gibt viele verschiedene Möbel. Es passt aber gut zusammen, nur nicht mein Geschmack. Bjarni, der Vermieter ist sehr sympathisch. Ich kann die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.

I stayed in a shared house with people from all over the world, in a warm and genuine atmosphere. A special place where nature and simplicity create emotions that stay in your heart. 💙

• Dirk (10/5): Rundum toller Aufenthalt auch für mehrere Tage - Das Haus ist sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und bietet alles, was wir benötigt haben. Die Küche war gut eingerichtet, wir hatten ein großes Zimmer für uns. Die Lage ist toll in der Nähe von Akureyri, für Whalewatching, für Ausflüge nach Siglufjördur oder zur Insel Grimsey. Bei Polarlichtern ist man sofort im Dunklen ohne Störungen.

• Gabriela (9/5): Doporučuji 😉 - Ubytování nabízí plně vybavenou kuchyň, prostorný pokoj s dostatkem úložného i odkládacího prostoru. Koupelny jsou sice sdílené, ale je jich dostatek, takže to nebyl žádný problém. Cena za ubytování byla skvělá. Majitel byl velmi vstřícný, přátelský a příjemný společník k rozhovoru. Kuchyně mohla být čistější.

• Marco (10/5): - I'm repeating myself from my first visit to Gimli 4 years ago but the hostel is one of the best hostels I have visited. It is quiet, the location is great and it is just ever so peaceful. Some guests clearly have never used a door properly in their lives. Instead of bashing the doors shut, guests could pay more attention when closing doors.

• Luis (6/5): Bonito retro hostel - Hostel con un aire retro. La decoracion es original la verdad. El anfitrion muy agradable (autentico islandes). Cocina bien equipada y suficientes mesas para cenar. Dakvik es un sitio autentico de pescadores de los fiordos del este de Islandia. Baños compartidos pero individuales aceptables. Quizas toca mejorar un poco los armarios. Son del año de mis padres y bueno, estan bien pero quizas les toca ya algun cambio. Es el tipico mobiliario que a mi me hace hasta gracia y habra gente que le pueda parecer malo. Es un hostel antiguo.

• Karleen (9/5): - Simple room but everything you need, clean shared bathroom and spacious kitchen/,living room where you can cook your own meal. Original house decorations. Very convenient location for people taking the ferry to Grimsey, just across the street. There's no real center in Dalvik, but it's located along the main road nearby the little harbor. Road to Dalvik along a beautiful fjord (but the town itself is more a collection of houses along the road). Bus stop at a couple of 100 meters. Warm welcome by the owner. No negative feedback, but you have to be aware that there is no staff available in the house. The owner comes as soon as you call him and replied very quickly to all messages and questions through Booking. Dalvik is rather isolated, if you don't have a car. I couldn't find food after 5 pm (too bad I was just too late for the super cosy looking cafe of the hostel owner at 100 m from the hostel). No shops or restaurants open when I was there in July on Sunday and Monday night.. Luckily a pizza takeaway opened from a local house kitchen at 6 pm.
• Sandra (8/5): Gutes und liebevoll eingerichtetes Hostel... - Der Ausblick von der Küche war super. Die Einrichtung ist charmant zum Verweilen im Treppenhaus und gemütlichen Zusammensitzen. Das Haus ist leider sehr hellhörig. Das Zimmer ggü der Küche und neben dem Bad (Zimmer 8) ist wirklich sehr hellhörig. Dafür aber ein toller Blick aufs Wasser.

• Frédérique (10/5): Une belle rencontre dans un lieu authentique - Une maison meublée et décorée avec beaucoup d'objets anciens, un charme inattendu quand on voit la bâtisse de l'extérieur. Un rapport qualité / prix rare en Islande. Un accueil incroyable de Bjarni, le propriétaire, qui tient le café du village. Plein d'attention, d'humour et prêt à discuter, il restera notre plus belle rencontre avec un islandais. Venez voir les baleines à Dalvik et gouter la soupe de poisson de Bjarni !!

• dani (9/5): Un lugar sencillo en el mejor marco. - La acogida del propietario es muy buena. Mucha tranquilidad y mucho respeto a los horarios y el descanso. Ubicación perfecte delante del puerto. Cocina práctica y útil para compartir. El colchón un poco flojo, pero no es nada destacable.
• Gilles (7/5): Bien mais bruyant - Maison cosy, tres bien décorée, parking devant, Accueil du propriétaire. Fenêtres qui ne souvrent qu'en partie, tres haut. Très bruyant à cause des portes des chambres qui doivent être claquées pour être fermées ( serrures anciennes) et qui grincent. Et surtout de la porte d'entrée principale qui se referme via un groom très puissant. Les arrivées tardives, les départs très matinaux comme les pauses pipi de la nuit ne peuvent être discrètes pour ceux qui ont le sommeil léger. Plus le bruit du port en fond.

• Danny (10/5): Traditional with warm welcome - Possibly the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in. Advertised as a hostel but had the feel of a traditional guest house. Bjarni is a very welcoming and approachable host. Directly across the road from the Grimsey ferry.

• Josephine (10/5): Comfortable, peaceful - 10 out of 10. - Firstly Bjarni was a fantastic host. Very helpful and enthusiastic. He very kindly gave me a slightly bigger room. I stayed 2 separate nights and was able to leave a bag whilst I was Grimsey. The hostel was spotless. Kitchen also really well equipped. I am already planning my return trip for some whale watching.

• martin (8/5): Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. - Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Hafen. Sehr zentral im Dorf. Das alte, aber gut gepflegte Haus ist sehr individuell eingerichtet, passt zum Haus. Bad und WC am Gang oder eine Etage tiefer. Küche und Aufenthaltsraum gut ausgestattet. Alles angemessen und wir haben nix vermiest. Unser Kontakt mit dem Hauspersonal beschränkte sich auf Bjarni und der war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. In der Beschreibung bei Booking.com steht fälschlicherweise das die Bettwäsche separat geordert werden muss. Das stimmt so nicht, alles war inklusive.
