Guest Reviews
- V4102XSdavidm (10/5): Outstanding customer service - Awesome customer service!!!!! Made the stay much better. We stayed in another hotel part of the time, and booked this one for the last week of our stay and it was a fraction of the cost, and painless to the end. Had a big smile on my face for the ride home. Thank you for caring, and treating us like we mattered.
- Tabitha (6/5): - The rooms were fine. The beds were rock hard, but I know some people like that. We could have used more pillows.
But everything was so noisy! We could hear everything! The people nextdoor pee, and vomit, the guy 4 doors down cough, the ice machine down the hall, anyone walking down the hall, the people upstairs, the cars on the freeway... I kept checking the doors and windows were closed because everything was so unmuffled. It was unsettling.
Breakfast was good. Well stocked and good variety. The hotel was clean and mostly inviting. Great location. Close to Arches and Main shopping area in Moab.
The only time I saw staff was during check in.
- Yannick (4/5): - La chambre a une odeur bizarre et le personnel est très désagréable.
Heureusement le lit était confortable.
- William (10/5): Great Place to Stay - Very nice place. Well maintained. Good staff.
- Dale (2/5): - If you can afford more, do it. "Pool and Spa" was crossed off on the road sign because the pool and spa do not exist except for the mud filled holes (the pic attached is the pool) Exterior of the building was filthy and not maintained. Rooms are old and worn. Any repairs seemed to be patchwork at best. Breakfast was sparse and dining area was cramped. They appear to have thrown some money at carpet and paint in the lobby but it's just lipstick on a pig. In an emergency or on a stringent budget it IS a place to sleep.
- John (2/5): - This was the most expensive hotel/motel on our 7 day road trip. Beds were too firm, pillows were flat, bathroom had tiles falling off and a broken toilet roll holder. Some kind of weird brown smear... All breakfast liquids were watered down, juice, waffle mix, coffee. Bagel was good but donuts were I don't know how old. The only goo thing is that we only saw the one member of staff at check in and no one else, at all. Finally, the pool and hot tub advertised, look to have be subject to a landslide of some kind. For what they are charging its not worth it.
- Nancy (6/5): - Pricey room for October. Not really worth the price but it was close to National Parks
- Rushie (6/5): - The inn definitely needs an update.Felt safe and comfortable. Bathroom has been renewed. The property could use some cleanup
- ARTHUR (8/5): - Room was clean and parking was convenient. However, the vent fan in the bathroom was unbelievably loud and it only had 1switch for the light and vent. So to use the light you had no choice but to use the fan.
- Kimberly (6/5): - This is a property in transition(I hope). Many fixes have been made and many to go. Our room was clean. The bed was ok. A mattress topper would have helped. The furniture is very old. It was a clean place to sleep for a very good price.
- Lisa (2/5): - We should have looked at the room before checking in. When we arrived in the room, it smelled terrible and it was clear that it was not cleaned on a regular bases. The window sills had mold growing in them and there was gross goop on the door nobs as well as the fridge handle. We decided that we were not going to stay and when we presented at the front desk to complain they would not give us our complete money back. Never again!
- Joanne (8/5): - Room was clean and well kept. Climate control was good. Breakfast choices were plentiful. Close to Arches National Park and restaurants. Front desk man was not welcoming or friendly. Room had a musty smell. If I looked out the window within a few feet was chunks of rock and debris.
- Larry (4/5): - to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at this motel. From the moment I arrived, I encountered a highly unprofessional attitude from the receptionist, who was not only rude but made the check-in experience unpleasant. The condition of the hotel was equally disappointing, there were dirty floor mats throughout the property, including in my room, which reflected a serious lack of cleanliness and care. To make matters worse, the overall quality of the stay was far below expectations. Additionally, I was surprised to find that your breakfast lacked any source of protein such as eggs, which is a basic standard in most motels with breakfast. This experience was unacceptable, and I hope you take immediate action to improve your service and facilities.
- Steve (10/5): - Clean room, check in was good
- Michael (8/5): - Ok
- Lisa (10/5): - Convenient
- Ron (10/5): - Clean room
- James (8/5): - Close to downtown Moab.
- Sharon (6/5): - Place was outdated. Continental breakfast was below average. Staff was never out front at the desk always had to ring the buzzer to have them come out. Not friendly.
Beds were uncomfortable .
- Steven (10/5): - Older property no attention paid to landscaping.
- Shishir (8/5): - Good for stay
- Gregory (2/5): - Booked through Expedia because it showed the hotel had a pool, hot tub and continental breakfast. Got to the hotel and you can tell before even walking in that it’s run down. Check-in was easy. Went to my room. The room was clean. Bed and sheets were clean. Opened the door to the bathroom and the smell was so bad I almost vomited. The pool and hot tub are out of service and look like it’s been that way for years. The breakfast was a small cabinet with bagels bread and doughnuts. Cereal and milk. I didn’t even want to eat any of it. Went out to eat. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Stayed one night on a business trip. It I guess that’s what you get for booking the cheapest hotel in Moab.
- Angela (6/5): - Decent clean place. Outdated; however it was clean and affordable. It would be nice to get the continental breakfast earlier due to traveling
- Bryan (8/5): - Staff is helpful
- Leigh (6/5): - The bed was comfortable, the shower was good, the breakfast was good. Which is fine for a one night stay.
The property exterior is not maintained and the pool is dirt.
The entrances were NOT secured with key card access.
The location is NOT walkable to restaurants and shops.
- Rebecca (2/5): - A terrible place. Again, I was mislead by the reviews. It was awful. Dirty, falling apart, dangerous broken light switch, tired, awful outside area, and rude man on reception.
- Karl (10/5): - An excellent stay for the budget minded!
- Monica (6/5): - It was okay for the night, older hotel, nothing fancy. Bed was comfy, breakfast was good.
- george (10/5): - Nice room, great location close to arches and town.
- Jame (6/5): - There was no one at the front desk a majority of the time! Restrooms were locked! Very unpersonable environment.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just good enough - The best thing about this property is the female housekeeper (I didnt get her name). Friendly, helpful, and does a great job cleaning the room. Every surface she can clean, is very clean. Other things, such as the carpet and upholstery, is old and stained. The service from the other employees is adequate, but not good, as is pretty much every aspect of this hotel. I stayed in Moab 4 days and didn't bother switching hotels, but I also wouldn't stay here again. It was just good enough. My biggest complaint was the room was always damp.
- Marla (6/5): - Big bathroom, comfortable bed, good location and great price.
Breakfast was standard, nothing special.
- Tayler (6/5): - The staff was very friendly for check in. The rooms are decent, it’s not the most updated motel, but the a/c was on when I walked in so the room was cool! The pool and hot tub look like they were abandoned years ago. Kind of a bummer, but $60 for a bed, air conditioning, tv, and shower in this economy? I’ll take it.
- JENNIFER (10/5): - Nice place for a quick overnight.
- Oscar (4/5): - The staff at the front office was very rude
- Rebecca (8/5): - I'm factoring the price into my review. 4 stars because it was a good price, but I did see what looked like a small roach scamper by in the room we were in. The fridge was very decent and the microwave was a communal one in the hallway.
The room was clean and odor-free. No smoke smells or otherwise.
- Lawrence (10/5): - We got in late and left early. Worked well for us
- Elaine (8/5): - Conveniently location.
- Robert (10/5): - Great
- IRENE (10/5): - This place was very clean and hotel staff is very friendly. I had a good night sleep after a long day of hiking, the beds and pillows are so comfy. Also liked that it’s a couple of minutes away from the town and few minutes from the parks. I avoided traffic in the town. Very nice place for an affordable price.
- Robert (6/5): Threats don’t make for a good stay anywhere - The clerk at the time said that after our stay that the management would inspect our rooms and would later charge us for damages if any were found I believe this was a Threat I did not ljke this I ll never use this motel again
- lorne (10/5): - Great value. Right on the north end, easy to find & access.
Clean & quiet.
- Tammy (10/5): - The room and hallways are beautiful. The outside looks like some doors need repaired. Not sure if laundry facilities were hooked up.
- ALFRED (10/5): - Great place to relax for the night.
- Cato (8/5): - Nothing
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There never seemed to be anyone at the desk unless specifically called. They advertised continental breakfast, but the breakfast room was never unlocked. Also, TV couldn’t change the channel. Had no issues with cleanliness or comfort.
- Haley (6/5): - There was no pool and breakfast was not the best and bathroom smells like bleach.
- Brandon (6/5): - Very outdated. Several repairs are needed. Microwave is in the hallway not in the room. Not terrible however, you get what you pay for.
- Sree Vidhya (2/5): Not satisfied with the room and service - Not so good. There was no micro Owen and freezer at room and WiFi not in working condition. We stayed without basic features. Not at all satisfied.
- O6849UFsm (2/5): No No. No. No Matter How Good The Price! - This place is just terrible. Starting with the drive on to the property, the lot is in disrepair.
The hallways are dark and dingy. The door provides little noise muffling and the walls are paper thin.
The bedspread and blanket are old am I am certain are not laundered between guests. The sheets are tissue paper thin.
We are glad we had our own blankets. We slept on top of them.
We couldn’t wait to get out of there in the morning. And forget about the breakfast.
- Lillia (10/5): - This place has lots of potential very old building but worth having a place to stay. The staff is very friendly. Only complaint is the bathroom had an awful musty smell to it but the bed and room were clean. Pool was shut down. I hope to see this place gets remodeled someday. Also Super close stay to the arches!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The place was good with minor issues about the room. The bathroom's exhaust is not working. One thing that made us upset was the attitude of the front desk staff. His rude.
- ChangJun (8/5): - It is good place to stay
- Ashleylou (8/5): - Not bad for the price. Although an outdated hotel, the room was clean. Breakfast was ok. We never saw anyone at the main desk there was a note with a number to call if you have y needed assistance and box to drop the key in for check out.
- Ed (10/5): - Very nice place to stay. Very close to Arches National Park. Room and bathroom were clean. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast was good. I stayed here 2 nights. Good price and good quality.
- Ed (10/5): - Very nice place to stay. Room was big and clean. Breakfast was great. I would stay here again
- Pamela (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay good breakfast
- Twinkle (10/5): - Great location near to Arches National Park. Neat and clean with required amenities.
- Dora (8/5): - Excellent night sleep and very close to Arches National Park. But staff was not friendly when we checked in and nonexistent afterwards.
- Corrine (4/5): - The room was not very clean. The top blanket was stained. The bathtub was dirty.
- Verified traveler (4/5): WAY too expensive for what you got - Must be the area; room was VERY expensive for an old run down property with weeds growing in the empty pool and crumbling landscaping in the back.
- Karl (10/5): - Room and facilities are clean and the price is very reasonable. Location is good, it’s on the strip but north of the busy area.
- holly (8/5): - Nothing special but had great ac. The rooms were dated but breakfast was ok. Was good for a last minute reservation
- Kim (2/5): - Staff does not want to
Hear your concerns and does
Not want to accommodate any problems. Room was too hot to sleep. Worst stay on our whole vacation
- Roger (6/5): - See-through toilet paper
- Maddi555 (2/5): Avoid this place like the plague! - This place is horrendous. It's ridiculously overpriced for what is basically 'backpackers style' accommodation. The place is dirty. The rooms are tired and in desperate need of some basic TLC. We opened our door to find the curtain off the rails. The feeling the room give you is 'unclean'. They advertise laundry facilities, a swimming pool and spa. Well they have them, but you cannot use them! The pool is full of mud and weeds. The spa - the same. The laundry is 'out of order' and according to the Manager, hasn't been available for months. Speaking of the Manager, he is just unfriendly and shouldn't even be in the service industry. He reeks of 'I can't be bothered' Luckily we only booked for 2 nights, decided to stay on in Moab for 2 more nights, so went to another hotel. Apparently The Gateway Inn is notorious for overcharging over long weekends and NEVER put
