- Matthew (10/5): Ginka gave me and my wife a perfect stop on our honeymoon, I cannot thank the staff enough. 10/10 - This was an incredible value for the price. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, even helping my wife with her Yukata bow.
The included dinner and breakfast was a set menu of some of the freshest crab, delicious fish, wonderful Miso Soup, and the Shabu-Shanu Wagyu hotpot was Devine.
The private onsen’s were spotless, and it was easy to reserve a time slot.
Me and my wife were not expecting this level of pampering on our honeymoon - and frankly I cannot find a single flaw in our stay.
This is admittedly a bit out of the way, but taking a 2.5 hour train into Kinosaki Onsen, using the coin lockers across the station, and wondering through the wonderful town while we wait for a shuttle couldn’t have been a better way to start us off.
If you’re looking for a couples getaway into a picturesque part of the world - come to Kinosaki Onsen. If you want to elevate your stay and fine a new definition of heaven, book with Ginka. Slightly out of the way - but easily accessible via the Kounotori line from Osaka and Kyoto

- Mark (10/5): So beautiful , clean, relaxing, great food and such welcoming staff - This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in my life, the views the food, the service - incredible Nothing

- Michael (10/5): - The location was a bit far from the station but they offer a pickup service from and to the station at a regular time. Both my breakfast and dinner food were amazing. Ginka also had a private onsen which you can book by informing the front desk staff. The staff understands english quite well too. Overall an amazing experience Nothing really.
- Hoi Ching (8/5):

- joanna (10/5): Flawless! With an unforgettable view - We LOVED our stay at Ginka! Everything was flawless-from the shuttle pick-up, the check in, the rooms with the most sublime view, the pajamas, the in-room beverages (you can grind your own coffee beans!), all the little thoughtful touches (the crane at night on our pillow), the futon beds were the comfiest we had in Japan! Don't miss eating on site-the food was so beautifully presented and our server was so kind with our limited Japanese. Even the gift shop was great! They also have vending machines with lots of free drinks and also one you can pay for. We hope to go back one day. Thank you to the kind staff for always making us feel so welcome.

The amenities with free drinks, ice cream and snacks were also amazing! Honestly there was nothing we did not like.
- Kaplansky (7/5): Traditional experience - The river view and the dinner The place looked a bit dated and there was some noise between the rooms.

- Brandon (10/5): - A beautiful ryokan experience. View from the room was amazing. Ryokan onsen was beautiful and private onsen was perfect for me as I have tattoos and could not use the public onsen. The staff here are so friendly and look after you really well. Only wished we had stayed an extra night!
- Prita (10/5): Excellent stay, well worth the price. The staff was incredibly friendly, courteous, and helpful. - Beautiully designed, well-kept, gorgeous modern and traditional Japanese aesthetic. Great location by the river. No other restaurants nearby.
- KONDO (10/5): -
- KANEKO (10/5): -

- Tirayu (10/5): Impressive - The location is really good, locating by the river. N/A
- Lander (10/5): The perfect break during our jam-packed Japan exploration. Would love to go back! - The building and our room were lovely. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Every room has a beautiful view of the Maruyamagawa River. You could spend the whole day lounging in the ryokan and soaking in your rooms tub gazing at the river and it would be enough! Our kaiseki dinner AND breakfast were of course also delicious. We got the best sleep of our entire Japan trip at the ryokan, with very comfortable futons. I loved taking a soak and getting a yakult or ice cream after! It requires a little extra planning around shuttle trips to/from the nearby Kinosaki main strip, but the hotel runs the shuttle very frequently and they were always on time. Try to incorporate an extra 15-30 minutes on either end of your transportation and just remember that the onsen experience should be relaxing. Don’t plan too many “excursions” like going to Genbudo or Takeno unless you have lots of time (like staying 3+ days) and try to just explore Kinosaki/hang out! There are plenty of boutiques, cafes, etc to enjoy in the city.

- Jacqueline (10/5): We loved our room with the river view. We ended up staying an extra day. The amenities were abundant - We speak English and the front desk staff had excellent English. The service was above and beyond any expectations. It was all excellent!
- isabelle (9/5): 2 jours de repos méditatifs intenses ! - Sa quiétude Rien
- Indra (10/5): -
- Daria (10/5): Excellent! - Everything was good! Highly recommend especially if you want traditional (modern) Japanese experience. The location is nice, but it’s not in the old city itself, but there is the transfer to the center, almost every hour, so it’s not that bad at all. You can reach the city center in 10 min.
- Lauren (7/5): Amazing stay and hotel! Save yourself the money for a mid meal and eat in town - The hotel and rooms are wonderful! So peaceful. I used the onsens downstairs for women and it was very relaxing. The shuttle service into town was easy to navigate and on time. The bath in the room was also a plus. I liked the coffee + free ice cream and beer in the fridge as well! We paid for the very pricey dinner (most expensive meal of our trip). It was the worst food we had all trip :(. We really wanted to love it but the food was just not good. Our server forgot our drinks for more than half of our meal. There was no dish I would really recommend although the crab was good. We also got breakfast both days and it was somewhat expensive compared to the alternatives and not very good. Save yourself the money and eat in town there are many good options!

- Tony (9/5): Nice facility and excellent staffs and service - Nice view but a little far away from the town.
They provide free shuttle bus to the train station.
Very quiet with excellent breakfast and dinner.
Private onsen was free to use. They provide free drinks and snacks all day. Overall very nice experience.
- Sherry (10/5): Beautiful onsen hotel, incredible food, exceeded all expectations--a bit far out from main town - Absolutely incredible and memorable stay that I would recommend to anyone, and well worth the price especially considering you get two delicious meals included! I felt the stress melting off my shoulders when I stayed here. The onsen was so relaxing and right by the water so you could hear and see the river while bathing. The room was like a dream with an unbeatable beautiful view of the river, a cozy tatami area, and a beautiful bathtub right by the river. Right from the start the service was incredibly warm and welcoming, and I felt completely taken care of by hotel staff. My partner and I only know basic Japanese and we were able to communicate perfectly with staff in English. The shuttle from the station was so convenient. So many extra perks like free Yakult, coffee, milk tea, and ice cream to eat after you visit the onsen, yukata to wear, comfy loungewear, and free face masks. The inside of the hotel was so peaceful and nicely decorated. The star of the show was undeniably the FOOD! Absolutely unbelievable kaiseki dinner with snow crab and a wonderful breakfast with a view of the autumn leaves and river. Our waiter was so kind and funny and we loved chatting with him despite our limited Japanese. Midnight udon was a plus though we were so full we didn't try it! Couldn't have asked for a better stay and absolutely recommend! It is a little far out from the onsen town, so you are limited to the available shuttle times for transport to/from Kinosaki, and you have to book these in advance. Shuttle service starts late and stops pretty early, and dinner ends pretty early as well. This was tricky since we only stayed one night and only had around 3 hours to experience onsen hopping in Kinosaki, so I would recommend staying at least 2 nights or staying at a hotel inside the main area instead to get the full experience and be able to fully relax instead of being too stressed by time!
- Hanka (10/5): Perfect relaxation with a beautiful river view from the bath and room - It was a beautiful very relaxing stay with exquisitely presented breakfast with a view and the bath on the enclosed balcony was just wonderful. We loved watching the birds and heron on the river outside and the steamy clouds on the mountains and hills opposite. So nice to be away from the busy town but having the facility to see the town sights, the ropeway, the coastal beach, the willow lined canal by using the free shuttle. The lovely owners/staff waved us off down the road as we left on the shuttle. We liked it all. Our room was a bit cool on arrival, being the last on the end of the block but the heater soon warmed it up.
- Ai Jia (9/5): Highly Recommend - We loved both days’ meals at this ryokan. Our rooms had beautiful views, were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable by Western standards. The second night’s dinner was a nice change for guests who enjoy variety without dietary concerns. Afternoon snacks and late night udon were thoughtful touches. We also enjoyed the private onsen - just make sure to reserve it at the front desk in advance (it’s free). I stayed here with my spouse and my parents. We requested a simple meal change for my dad due to dietary restrictions switching his second-night Japanese BBQ to the fish sukiyaki from the first night. The staff initially agreed in the morning, but later that afternoon told us they couldn’t accommodate it after all and instead offered extra fish for an additional fee. This was disappointing given the earlier approval.
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Iris (10/5): Would book again! I recommend this to be at least a 2-night stay. - My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night, we definitely should've done two nights minimum! There is a private onsen experience in your hotel room, as well as 2 public ones (but one of them requires a reservation with the front desk). Please be mindful that if you have tattoos, to stay in your hotel room for the onsen experience. The public baths do not welcome guests with tattoos. There are free public amenities such as drinks, ice cream, yukata rentals, misc. (small snacks, face and eye masks, candy, etc.). Dinner and breakfast came with the booking! The meals are really grand. It took us 2.5 hours to finish dinner and 45-minutes to finish breakfast. They offer shuttle service to and from Kinosakionsen Station. Not necessarily a bad thing! But staff seemed to prefer requests and questions to be through phone call, rather than showing up to the front desk unannounced. They delivered our requests quickly and effortlessly :)

- Justine (10/5): Peaceful extravagance! - One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Each night and morning, the hotel puts on an amazing banquet for each guest - we had fugu and it was incredible! The room had amazing views and a bath in the room where we could relax, as well as obviously the onsen available for guest use. Don’t be put off that it’s a little far away from the main cities! We found the train very easy and took our luggage on with us so didn’t have to use the transport services.
- Agent 86 & 99 (10/5): - We loved this hotel and the quiet relaxing location out of town. It had everything we needed to relax & rest. Our room had an incredibly huge wooden bath where you could just watch the river go by. We also enjoyed the private onsen. The hotel shuttle was perfect for going in & out of town which we did for our meals. We really appreciated the coffee making facilities in the room, being able to freshly grind beans every time. It was the most relaxed we were on our entire trip. We can't say enough about our wonderful stay. Thank you to all the kind and very helpful staff. We liked everything.
- Atabeck (8/5): We enjoyed it very much! - The view, the staff The dinner and breakfast:)
On recommande à 10 000 % !!!
