Guest Reviews
- Tony (8/5): - Property clean. Was woken up at 7am by cleaners making loud noise.
- Rhys (8/5): - Found this to be a great base for my short visit to Dublin. Was walkable distance to the main city area, and a clean welcoming space to return to.
Would have benefited from having some more facilities, such as a trap to allow refilling a water bottle (the sink was to small). There was a facility in reception, but with the elevator out of order, that was some distance to go.
Staff helpful, and would recommend as an alternative to 'rental properties' liable to cancel late on.
- KIERAN (10/5): - Great value and extremely comfortable
- conrad (4/5): - So, this is a dorm. Complete with dirty common areas, and noises enough for ear plugs at night. Definitely a cheap option, but I would have sooner paid 20 extra euro a night for my own fridge, TV, non-stink-common, and quiet.
- Mariah (2/5): - Couldn’t sleep for 2 days
- Alexandra (2/5): - Way to expensive for the constant noise (music, screaming, constant gate slamming) the horrible matress and hair of previous guests in shower, matress and on the floor.
- Michel (8/5): - Great place to call home base while doing things in the city. Friendly helpful staff.
- Aydiya (2/5): - The room we went in was terrible dirty there was coffee spills there was dirt everywhere in the floor I mean dust and hair there was stains on the walls and windows it’s was abandoned room I couldn’t talk more like I went In, instead of resting I was cleaning that place up I’m OCD so I don’t advise anyone who is to reserved that place
It’s not my first time there. I have been there many times but it’s your luck 🍀 cause sometimes you find the place really clean some where like it was abandoned room honestly your luck in the end of the day
- Vanessa E (10/5): - Very simple but perfect for a nice safe stay
- Gordon (8/5): - Loved the area it was in, studio itself was great. Had everything you needed just like at home. A Tesco Express just round the corner was handy, was also directly across the road from 2 distilleries.
- Nigel (10/5): Recommended for a city centre break at good price - Really good value accommodation in the centre of Dublin.
Sensibly run with shared kitchen and tea and coffee facilities available at reception
- Rommel del Rio (10/5): - Overall it was a good stay with very reasonable price. It was a student accommodation with shared kitchen. There was a private bathroom. No airconditioning(common in Europe) Fan was available on request. I didn’t need to use the fan I just opened the window.Weather was cool in the night time . The location I was about a 20minute walk to Temple Bar area, where the heart of nightife was. There was 1 restaurant and a Tesco within a block. It was also close to Teeling Whiskey house— it was a stop for the hop on hop off busses. The Dublin Expeess to the airport was about 7minute walk( the stop was Kevin st/Portobello). Not a bad stay in Dublin.
- ivy Anderson (6/5): A night stay - 24h staff. Its was okay for me looking forward to come again.
- Geeta (2/5): - Stay was a major security concern. I had 3 people on separate occasions simply enter my room with a key card unannounced. And that was just while I was in the room, I have no idea what happened while I was out (before I realized that people were entering my room). Room itself was incredibly dusty and dirty. Management at reception and Expedia did absolutely nothing to help me.
- Ruth (10/5): - The property felt extremely safe. The location was quite central but it was a bit of a walk to the downtown core. Great property!
- Andre (6/5): - Hotel bed mattress was really bad
- Elise (8/5): - As long as you bring your toiletries it was a nice stay for the price. Small but comfortable room. AC didn’t work but with the window open at night it cooled down just fine.
- Mark (10/5): - Great place. Clean, amazing view, access to a kitchen. Just wonderful.
- Sonia (8/5): - I had a lovely relaxing stay and would recommend it to others.
- Fergus (10/5): - Good value and central to where I wanted to be
- Badia (10/5): - Perfect location for exploring Dublin. Very nice room, clean and super cute. Friendly staff. Laundry available too! Would stay again
- Courtney Anne (10/5): - Perfect stay in Dublin if you aren’t looking for something fancy. It’s small but extremely clean, safe, and staff are friendly.
- Randy (4/5): - The room was sparse and plain. They falsely advertised that the facility has a gym. It is staffed with disinterested student workers who ran the place like a hostel. In general, it was not worth EUR$100/night for what amounted to a hostel experience. Boo.
- Evan (10/5): - Only comment we had was that there was a very prominent musty laundry smell outside of our residence building. Everything else was perfect.
- Tim (10/5): - In all fairness, it was a bit of a walk to get to a lot of stuff but w we knew that coming in. We were impressed by the cleanliness and the staff.
- Ariadna (8/5): - Tres bon appartement pour faire un séjour à Dublin.
Bon acceuil établissement propre à proximité du centre ville.
- Saif (10/5): - Decent clean place with new finishes
- Abigail (10/5): - Such a clean place with wonderful and understanding staff, would definitely stay again.
- Sarah (10/5): - Destiny Student (New Mill/The Tannery) is at a great location. Only a 15 minute walk away from Temple Bar. Also easily walkable to Trinity College, O'Connell street, and Grafton St shopping. The building and room are clean. Staff were available 24/7 in person and were very friendly. Highly recommend for travelers who understand that the lodging is not a hotel.
- Maxime (10/5): - Wonderful !
- Tyler (10/5): - It was decent. My shower had an issue with hot water but other than that it was fine.
- Bryce (8/5): - Good location, but very noisy between all the seagulls and giant window/wall facing the courtyard. Walls are quite thin as well. Mold in bathroom
- Abhisek (10/5): - Awesome place to stay in a studio apartment
- Philomena (8/5): - Brilliant place to stay
- Priteshkumar (8/5): Overall decent stay at Destiny Student - I only needed to stay for one night, so this was a solid option. Check in with very easy thanks to the 24 hour reception. People need to understand this is a University accommodation, not a hotel. So the room is small. Depending on what time of year you stay, there will also be noise from students at night. The bed is also not super comfortable. But, overall, for a solo trip for one night, I don't have many complaints. Good choice for similar travellers.
- Sinead (10/5): Comfortable & affordable in a great location - Arrived approx. 5.30pm on Saturday 13th July. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who was very helpful and explained where our apartment was and the extras on offer if we needed. The room itself was very spacious, enough for two people. It had a kitchenette with a cooker, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. There were no soaps or towels in the apartment so I suggest to bring your own. The ensuite bathroom was small but, again, perfect for two people (photos attached). A lot of reviews mentioned the noise but where we stayed (Block C), the only noise we heard were seagulls. Checkout was very fast and the staff were very responsive to any questions we had. Overall, a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. For the price, it exceeded our expectations, especially in the city centre of Dublin. Note: there is no nearby/on site parking but a QPark multi-storey carpark is situated within 3 stops on the bus. Definitely recommend if you want somewhere central that isn't the typical Dublin prices. Thank you very much to all the helpful staff for your care and attention.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Dublin city stay - I would recommend anyone to stay here as its excellent accommodation, spacious, clean, comfy, and very friendly staff .its near Guinness store house, Jameson whiskey ,Teelings whiskey, museums, shopping cafes bars so much around buses
- Sarah (10/5): - Clean, private, and organized. Management is great. My only feedback is please put hand soap and tissues in the bathroom. Also please put hangers in the closet.
- ANDRAS (10/5): - Love this place
- Kirstie (2/5): - There is no kettle in room or kitchens and you cannot hire one. You can hear everyone comming and going with doors slamming all night. The rooms are so little its crazy. The bathroom lights are so low you cannot put your make up on in there. The metal bedframe was awful. Only 1 pillow each. The sink leaked everywhere. Just avoid as we have had no sleep for 2 nights
- Orla (8/5): - Overall good place to stay but rooms need a proper deep clean. Floors were dirty
- Kevin (6/5): - Just a warning, if you are "larger", the shower doors are very small. I made it, but that was before I ate shepherds pie the rest of the week. :-) I might not make it now.
- Alexis (8/5): Not Bad - The bed was quite uncomfortable and there isn’t any soap in the bathroom but for a weekend stay it really isn’t bad. It’s in a great area and that makes up for what it lacks. Wouldn’t recommend for more than a few nights for a SOLO trip.
- Roger Dale (2/5): - Let me first say I understand these are dorms but it was extremely loud outside. I had to open my window because it was warm in my room. They do offer vans for an additional cost but I thought why not open my window. There were people talking outside all hours of the night which kept me awake. The bed was very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs in my back. Let’s just say I would never stay here again.
- Eli (2/5): - We had scheduled a late check-in and when we arrived to our room the bed was unmade, with sheets on top of it which were visibly stained with black and brown marks. There was also hair on the pillows and no hand soap in the room. The front desk offered to swap our sheets but at first brought up dirty ones which. On the third try we got clean sheets (after 30 minutes) but they explained they had no more hand soap. After that, we just couldn’t shake the feeling that nothing there was clean and ended up changing hotels. The staff at the desk the next morning was apologetic and were understanding in helping us change hotels.
- Isaac (8/5): - Convenient check-in and friendly staff.
- Mark (10/5): Dublin - The accommodation was excellent, clean comfortable and great location to the city centre, would stay here again.
- brett (2/5): - After the first 2 rooms we were allocated hadn’t been cleaned we finally got a clean room. Sadly as it was summer room was nearly 30deg and you can’t have the window open and the blinds closed, so little sleep. The fire alarm went off for the first night from 1am until 8am.
Constant noise in silent hours from people shouting in courtyard.
Facilities offered are a first come first served basis and not enough to go round all in all terrible experience which we will not be repeating.
- Martine (10/5): - Would stay again!
- Yousaf (2/5): - Fire alarm went off for 9 hours from 11 pm to 8:30 am the next morning. Got little to no sleep and a terrible headache, asked them for some kind of compensation for the bad experience, they refused and said they don't accept responsibility for it. Wish I'd gone somewhere else.
- Liberty (2/5): - great location, clean rooms and safe.
I showed up super tired only wanting to sleep but it gets pretty noisy and didn't allow me to sleep.
i actually left more tired than I came.
there were also multiple faulty emergency alarms going off while I was trying to rest and overall did not create a comfortable stay.
I also lost something and could not reach the front desk and it took awhile to receive a response and emailed the support and have yet to hear back.
- Megan (4/5): - Had to change rooms twice. 3rd room we ended up in was dirty but by that point had given up. Staff were helpful enough, offered an extra towel for the inconvenience.
- Naneth (10/5): - I was a little weary booking this based on other reviews, so I thought I should chime in about my experience too. Yes it is small, but I don’t need much so it was perfect. The best I can describe it is like a college dorm. There are “apartments” that have multiple rooms. The room did sleep 2 of us and we did have our own bathroom. The only downside is that while they say we should try to keep noise to a minimum after 10, not everyone respects that. We were in the room trying to sleep and we could hear the “kids” slamming doors and going up and down the hallway into the kitchen area well past midnight. That was frustrating considering we had to be up early for an early flight. Besides that, it was clean and really close to everything (if you can handle walking which is fine with me). It is only about a 10 min walk to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and ChristChurch. About a 20 min walk (or less depending on your pace) into City Centre. I’d totally stay again!
- Mackenzie (6/5): - It was a bit noisey but otherwise clean and did what it needed to do!
- Keith (4/5): - Couldn't turn heating off.....
- jesse (10/5): - drains didnt work in the showers. only thing i didnt like
- Garry (10/5): - It’s definitely not a hotel. It definitely is student accommodation. That said it’s a nice, safe, quiet place to lay your head with a decent bathroom. For the price I found it excellent. I’d certainly stay again in the future.
- KATHERINE (8/5): - Good accommodations on a tight budget. People were nice, and the room was clean. The bed was uncomfortable but it is student lodging. Take earplugs because of the screaming seagulls and a sleep mask as the bling do not cancel the sunlight
- lewis (10/5): Would highly recommend - Fantastic place, clean and comfortable. Not too far from the centre.
Was very warm in the room and hallway and the the thermostat didn’t seem to work (every room had its windows open so I suspect it’s a common issue).
Easy check in / out and just generally nice vibes in the courtyard etc
- Robbin (6/5): - The property has multiple pictures of a game room( arcade video games) and movie room. I booked this place for the kids. Once there, the staff says NO “access” or either it’s not working. Extremely inconvenient when you’re traveling with teens!
- Marta (8/5): - Basic clean in good location
- Nuala (4/5): Low on comfort. High on price - The hotel was super basic and small which would have been fine if it wasn’t also overpriced. We were offered teabags at reception but there was no kettle or cup to make the tea in so we were very confused. Maybe there was a communal area with facilities but this was never explained to us when we checked in. For the price I’d have expected a much nicer and more comfortable experience.
- Justine (6/5): Gets the job done - I really liked the location of the hostel, we were able to walk everywhere or walk to public transit! Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only cons was the room was on the top floor with no AC and got pretty hot, the walls are super thin so you hear everything, and the floor was also very dirty ( so bring slippers). You get what you paid for though!
- Tom (6/5): - The studio apartment was generally good, but the windows were so thin that it was as if the seagulls at 4am - 6am were in the room with us, making an absurd amount of noise every night. Our room also wasn't the cleanest, and there was blood on the wall and sofa. But overall, a good amount of space and most things you needed! Cheers.
- Francesco (10/5): - Great location and space, perfect for a quick break and working remotely.
The room wasn't properly cleaned, but everything else was perfect for a mid week stay.
- Amy (10/5): - Property very safe with key fob access at every door & gate. Reception staff were helpful. I had one of the double rooms for 2 nights. I enjoyed my stay. 20 min walk to central Dublin and it's a nice easy flat walk. The surrounding area seemed safe and quiet.
There were some unusual bumps at night! But I used earplugs, just seemed to be a lot of activity in the apartment block also, the bed was a bit lumpy but nothing I couldn't sleep on and through. The bathroom wasn't squeaky clean but these are uni apartments being used for rooms off season so that makes sense.
Overall really happy and would come back. Thank you
- Ghiath (8/5): - Cordial staff.
- Elliot (10/5): - Easy and quiet close enough walk to centre ideal for a night or two
- Joanne (10/5): - I liked everything about the property. The only complaint I have is that one of the front desk people (a male) who worked there in the early morning of August 16, 2023, was quite rude to me. Our shower had flooded the bathroom floor because the drain wasn't draining properly. I went to the front desk to let them know and to get help. I was quite panicked and didn't know my room number immediately. The male was obviously irritated that I could only give him the apartment number and the floor, but not the building, although I did point it out. After a few minutes, I realized I had the key in my hand and gave it to him. The key had the room number on it. The male then rudely said to me that "oh, you had the key all along". He then proceeded to give me two towels, and didn't seem to take seriously my warning that our bathroom floor was flooded. Two towels would not have been enough to clean up the flooding. He did not tell me he would notify any maintenance workers to help. Fortunately, when I returned to my suite, two maintenance workers were outside the suite as they had independently noticed the flooding from the suite below us. I am certain they hadn't been notified by the rude front desk male. They helped us clean up and fix the drain. The two maintenance workers were fantastic and very kind, telling us it wasn't our fault that the bathroom flooded. So overall my experience was great, but for the one rude male. He had short brown hair and appeared to be in his twenties.
- Steven (6/5): - For a budget option this place does the job and is in a very good location (5 mins to St Patricks Cathedral). It’s kept budget by having certain facilities as payable extras, like towels and room fans. My only issue is that the floor was a bit dirty and it was very noisy with suitcases in the courtyard at all times of the night though so it just depends on how much you value having an open window at night.
- Talía (10/5): - Excellent!
- Paul (8/5): - Helpful staff. Clean premises.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great for the price paid, wouid return
- Jennifer (8/5): - The staff were all wonderful. The property is a hostel plan accordingly overall good stay
- Theresa (8/5): - The location was easily walkable to any place we wanted to go
- Jake (4/5): - Lots of shouting at night
- Claudio Alexis (6/5): Good but need - My main complaint is the charge for leaving a small backpack three hours before the checking (5 euros per bag). The kitchen in the common area was full of rubbish, rest of foods. Staff friendly.
- Fortune (10/5): - Toilet bowl was stained, window broken handle broken, not able close.
Cobwebs and dust.
- Olivia (10/5): - My daughter and I stayed in a unit that had a kitchenette. The kitchenette was fully functional - dishwasher, frig, convection/microwave, stove top, oven, pots, fry pan & electric tea kettle.
- Jess (4/5): - Little expensive for the value. Serviceable but not very clean.
- Hannah (8/5): - It was close to everything
- Celso Jorge (4/5): - The property is in a new and modern building but the room lack the basic needs. No bed sheets, no pillow case, no towels, no soap. The matress is very bed, poor quality. Only for a students. It is overpriced for that standard.
- Amy (10/5): - Clem and great location
- Kimberley (2/5): Would not book again at this place - Would not go back again would not recommend to anyone the room was not clean and the staff were not helpful
- Mark (8/5): - I had the best time. 2 negatives: weird little ants living in the bathroom sink and an alarm on the block opposite that went off every few minutes on my final night. However, I would still come back because all of the other positives definitely outweigh these two things. On top of that, Siena on reception was a complete angel when I returned to collect my bags. In fact, everyone I came into contact with on reception was awesome but Siena and the Australian lad really stood out. Thanks everyone for a fantastic stay.
- Abby (8/5): - Great apartment. Views from our room over Dublin. However, the fridge in the kitchen wasn’t working which we were disappointed with and the water from the sink in the kitchen was warm. But overall, impressed with the apartment.
- peter (8/5): - Exactly right for a gig at the 3Arena. Easy transport...when it works. Plenty of food places near as well.
- Nafis (8/5): - Nice clean and safe environment.
Beds cannot really fit two people.
Shower did not work properly.
Good location and an overall good deal.
- Euan (6/5): - It is a great discount property.
Unfortunately the suites get very hot and there is no air conditioning or cooling system. There were problems with the water heat as well. For the price however it's a decent no frills option that is right in the heart of very expensive Dublin.
- Alexander (10/5): - Great place to stay in Dublin. Walking distance to main attractions. It is a student dorm. But as we have a large family if 6, we had whole apartment with 4 separate room, each room had a bathroom and then common kitchen. Highly recommend for large families.
- John (10/5): - Very cosy
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was very warm to ac/ asked for fan they said none left, after asking a 2nd was given a tiny fan which barely helped. Bathroom mirror light was flickering (switched off switch but still constantly flickered. Staff were otherwise very helpful. Bed was ok
- Tara Lyn (4/5): - Our room was so dirty when we arrived we asked to be moved to a different room. Once in the new room it was still filthy and asked for cleaning supplies to clean it ourselves. We didn’t dare to let our bare feet hit the floor once. There were also no curtains so we were basically staying in a dirty fishbowl for 3 days.
The only good thing I have to say about this place is that it is in a very convenient location and you can walk to the city centre very easily.
- Montana (10/5): - Great location for the price. Simple accomdaton but its all you need. Bed is super small and might be tight to share. Other than that would stay again for the price.
- CLAIRE (2/5): Reception demands card and £100 or no room keys. - Be prepared for no refund or access to your room unless you are prepared to hand over your card details and pay an extra £100 at reception.
Also to be left stranded.
Not to be let in the gate as no one answers the gate call and just hope someone happens to be going out.
- Elzbieta (4/5): - Excellent location and clean. However, very noisy during night hours. If you plan sleeping, book somewhere else.
- Khalid (2/5): - Overpriced, noisy, no towel, no soap, very basic and overpriced.
- Wesley (10/5): - Great location, very affordable.
- Kayla (8/5): Affordable clean room - The room was clean, very modern, had plenty of outlets to charge devices and was much more affordable than other locations in the area.
- Sara (2/5): - The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the shower had black mold.
