Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): -
- Edas (10/5): All was nice - All good
Nice place
Nice people Nothing all was good
- Karen (2/5): We will never stay there again. - The manager was very friendly. The location was perfect for our needs.the newly remodeled shower was tiny but nice. There were dozens of dead bugs on the bedding . The manager immediately changed all the bedding for us.
The noise of the rodents in the walls and the kitchen cabinets kept me awake most of the night. The outward appearance of the kitchen area was clean but upon opening a drawer it was full of rodent feces.
- Phoenix (10/5): -
- David (9/5): - A good location and friendly staff. Interior furniture and bad outdated..
- Nancy Jo (5/5): -
- Nancy (8/5): We got a good night's sleep. - The manager and front desk person went above and beyond to meet our needs. It is somewhat dated, but clean and comfortable.
- Nobuko (6/5): -
- Valinda (2/5): Avoid this place if u can - The interiors are meant to be quaint with a mountainous feeling, but in reality everything old and worn out. All materials and surfaces need updating. For my husband and I, it was difficult to spend one more second than necessary inside this chalet
- Margot (9/5): - Delightful
- Mahmoud (2/5): Not worth the price. Go somewhere else. - They were available on July 4th, I now understand why.
No bed bugs, I think. I was there with a group, so we got to try a room and a cabin. There were bugs all over the room. Nothing was clean, and the entire property seemed pretty run down. The descriptions are misleading. Most of the rooms are labeled as cabins but are actually just motel rooms. The actual cabins are tiny, they feel smaller than the motel rooms.
When trying to unload into the cabin at night their sprinklers came on, which were aimed at the walkways so I ended up getting soaked right before bed.
We had called their phone number during normal daylight hours, which directed us to a generic customer service line, which wasn't very helpful. The customer service told us they offered coffee and fresh baked goods for breakfast. When I asked the owners about it in the morning, they just that was wrong.
I know i booked on July 4th, but this place gave the value of a *cheap* 1 star motel, but is priced like a 4 star hotel.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eilish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Riley (6/5): Pleasant - Everything worked. Other guests were polite. Ample parking Room reeked of cigarette smoke from the previous occupant. Window blinds leaked much light
- Damian (10/5): Can’t wait to come back next year - This was our 5th year coming here. Nice having a kitchen. Good location to get to everything. Warm and cozy. Kitchen.
- Valerie (10/5): Appreciate the history. - The room was huge and very comfortable for me and my two kiddos. I was concerned about arriving late, but when I called the gentleman I spoke with was very helpful and I later received an email with my room number and pertinent information. I thought that I had reserved a cabin and instead was given a motel room. However, the room was still enormous and quiet.
- Lily (9/5): Economic choice for small group - We were a group of four friends (1 guy & 3 ladies) traveling together so the availability of three beds was essential to us. The cabin was older but was clean and equipped to meet all the basic needs. We loved the well equipped kitchen. The bathroom even had bath robes, makeup remover and disposable slippers! Free coffee, juice and mini muffins were offered in the office. The full size mattress was a bit soft.
- Syed (8/5): Very good -
- Adrienne (5/5): Passable - Location was good, close to town. Furniture and carpet were visibly dirty. Bathroom: above shower drywall was coming off and bubbled. Spa was empty, and when I booked, it said nothing about the spa not being available.
We probably would not stay there again.
- Jane (6/5): Needs some TLC for the price! - Nice location. Clean and bed was comfortable. Needs a lot of TLC. Minimum outlets, heat didn't work and water was luke warm in shower. There weren't any nightstands, shelves or hooks for personal items (there was a shelf in the closet but suitcases had to go on the floor). Price was high for rental but maybe you're paying to be close to the mountains?
- Kerry (10/5): cute cabin - very clean and quiet. nice full kitchen
- Casey (9/5): Great little getaway spot! - Great charm, ease to schedule, great value, helpful staff, clean They door jamb to the bathroom was a little snug
- Giesen (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anonymous (2/5): We survived the night - Location It was a run down worn out old cabin
Desperately needs renovations
It was like a bush hut camp smelt musty
Won’t be back
- Angie (8/5): Very good -
- Jake (6/5): Pleasant -
- Perry (5/5): If the air conditioner worked properly, it would have been a great stay. - Lots of hot water. Nice grassy area for dogs. Good location. Air conditioner didn’t work properly and died the last night there. Front door handle kept coming off. Stove was missing a burner. Lots of little bugs coming in from the cracks around windows and doors. No instructions for the tv and a remote that controlled the tv. With a little upkeep, these cabins would be great. Oh, and the sheets kept coming loose. Maybe get some sheets that fit better or a strap thingy that holds them in place.
- Anonymous (1/5): Worst accommodations ever!!!!! - Not much Where to start,
No one to greet us
Lots of insects in the cabin
AC did not work very well
Food left on the floor
Toilet seat that only fits 10 and under
Shower was moldy
Given the choice of driving to Omak or Wenatchee keep driving or sleep in your car.
At half the price it would have been overpriced.
- Suzanne (2/5): I booked a cabin but was given a state-smelling motel room for the 3 of us. - False advertising: I booked with Idle a While Cabins, not Idle a While motel. They are on the same site, and are the same business, but I booked a cabin and was given a motel room. The price was good for the cabin but not good for the room, which had no cooking facilities. However, the internet was satisfactory and the location was convenient to town. The motel room smelled so stale I was almost overcome. I don't think it was cigarette smoke, but it was just so stale - was it the carpet or other soft furnishings? The air conditioner was incredibly noisy.
- Golembeski (8/5): Very good -
- Sian (7/5): Good -
- Walter (7/5): Good value, with lots of room for two. - Good location near town. Nice lawn out back. Good chats with other nearby guests. Lighting in the wood-finished rooms was minimal. Bulb on east side of bed was out.
- Robert (7/5): Good - nice shower, clean towels and sheets, great location, nice cabin layout, nice clothes dresser, nice bedside nightstand and light, good wifi. My cabin and furniture smelled like smoke. Very bothersome for me. Rooms were dark. And kitchen pots utensils were very limited. very small table for dining.
- Peggy (10/5): Exceptional - We had an amazing stay. The area was great. The spa was awesome.
- Autumn (3/5): Poor -
- Debra (8/5): Great play area for dogs in the back, convenient to town, good value. -
- James (7/5): Good -
- Eric (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (5/5): Not great, but clean where it mattered - The sheets and towels were clean, and the mattress fairly comfortable. The location is great, and there's a huge grass lawn behind the cabins that is great for people traveling with dogs. Where do I start? It's very run down. A/C units were recently added, but they're "insulated" into the wall with towels shoved into the gap, and wasps could get in through the cracks. The bathroom sink was clogged, several light bulbs were burned out, making the whole place very dark, the TV didn't work at all, the kitchen "knives" couldn't cut butter, and the furniture is from the early 90s and pretty gross- looking. We covered it all with sheets we'd brought to protect the furniture from dog hair, but it ended up being a 2-way thing. The pillows are very flat and stiff, the sort you can get at Walmart for $5 for a 2 pack, and we regretted not bringing our own.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I love the cabin and all the wildlife we saw.
- Claudio (10/5): Very nice and clean - Great cabin very clean with ample space for our pets. Nice parking in front of it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place to stay in the Methow
- Heather (10/5): - This is the perfect get away. The cabins are small and cozy. Everything you need for simple living to get away from the rush of everyday life. Twisp and Winthrop are my husband’s hometowns and we love going back for visits!!
- Patricia H. (8/5): Internet issues - Our only concern was the internet was down and it was difficult to connect with the owners to resolve.
- Michael (10/5): - Wonderful place. Great getaway! We will be back soon
- Julie (10/5): Price is right for the area. - The cabin was clean with everything i needed.
- Kathy (8/5): - While the cabin's interiors are dated, it was very clean and comfortable. We would stay again!
- Amy (8/5): - Perfect place for a Methow get away. Cabins are cute and nice size. Some updates I'm sure will continue. Nice to have a full kitchen. The decks off the back are great to enjoy the view of the deer. We'll be back.
- Andrew (10/5): - Cozy and quaint with deer right outside the door. This is the best place to stay in Twisp.
- Mark V. (10/5): Cute cabin! - Very cute cabin a short walk from town (and a quick drive from ski trails). The owners were incredibly friendly and the hot tub and sauna were excellent. The cabins were well-equipped and very clean.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Musty old smell - but worst of all - I was 3 cabins away from the office and could not get wifi - I had to stand outside the closed office in the dark snowy cold to get emails. In a decade or more I have not seen such terrible wifi
- Christin B. (8/5): Pleasant, cozy private space - Overall this was a very pleasant stay. I very much enjoyed the coziness of the private cabins and the extra privacy was much appreciated. The hosts made it very easy to check in after hours as well! The only reason this is 4 stars is because the cabin seemed to be a bit noisy at night between the metal clunking from the heater and the slightly broken toilet. It honestly did not bother me as I am a hard sleeper, but it kept my partner up for a while. Overall this was a great experience for me!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pleasant little cottages and well prepared for our visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy checkin, friendly owners and near Twisp and Winthrop.
- Jessica (10/5): Cute old cabins - Cute little old cabins, it felt like going back in time. I wish there was a bit of information on the history of the town, but it was great visit.
- Juanita A. (6/5): Confortable - We only stayed overnight, got there in the evening, left to get dinner in Winthrop. Left in the morning, so it was not a long stay. But it was comfortable. Maybe could use more space in the bathroom to hold my hot irons and blow-dryer.
- Marian K. (10/5): Could have Idled Awhile - Clean, comfortable little cabin. Very comfortable bed.
- Linda C. (10/5): Great place to stay - Quaint cabin. Will stay there again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice cabins, comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay here again.
