- Elizabeth (8/5): - Very convenient location, quiet, budget appropriate, easy communication, ocean view. Not false advertising... What you see is what you get. We even got an email letting us know the seaweed was really bad at the time of our trip and offered to change it if we did not care to experience it. I call that good service. Now if you are shopping for groceries cross over the bridge to Akumal pueblo for half price everything at the local supermarket not near the hotel tourist traps. Enjoy!

- William (10/5): Akumal home away from home - Gorgeous property right on the beach with a spectacular view. We came at the wrong time of year to really enjoy the beach but we loved snorkeling in the lagoon at the end of the road and swam with the sea turtles at the nature park right up the street. We made Chicken adobo and handmade tortillas in the gorgeous and spacious kitchen. The bed was a little firm for my taste but the property was clean, well stocked and amazing
- Catalina Mesa (8/5): - This was an amazing little spot to unwind and relax and enjoy nature and good food. The Area around the property was amazing and you can enjoy the pool at the nearby restaurant as well. I highly recommend for short stays.

We had a walk out water for front room which was amazing however, due to the seaweed we could not use the beach and enjoy our beachfront room. Having said that the hotel communication was easy, check and check out was convenient, they even allowed an early check in which we appreciated. I would definitely stay again I would just adjust my travel plans around the high seaweed season. I do recommend this hotel when coming to Akumal!

The all condo stinks so bad we couldn't even sleep. Clothes and everything got stinky too, we had to do laundry on the new place we had to get. We try to negotiate a "refund" and they didn't cooperate.

- Holly F (10/5): - We had a great room with a beach view and hammock. Coffee maker and small fridge. A/C unit was great. Access to the pool a short walk away. Couldn’t use the beach with the sargassum covering it. Ended up driving south, paid to park, paid for entrance to beach, and paid a small fee to snorkel with sea turtles. But totally worth it! Great area!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good basic accomodations. - Affordable accomodations directly on the beach. Basic 1 bdrm condo is simple but has everything you need. Coffeemaker and full fridge plus microwave and stove. Gricery is 3 min walk down the road. We had room cleaning every day but one. There was much seaweed but it didnt smell. It does make it hard to enter the ocean.

The beach and bay did have a lot of seaweed, which we were prepared for…not sure if it is a year around occurrence or seasonal. Loved the hammocks on the beach side balcony.
- Annette (10/5): - Overall we enjoyed our stay the accommodation was clean and well equipped. Although the seating was too firm for our liking. Housekeeping was daily apart from one day. Reception whilst limited was friendly and helpful and as someone else pointed out you only have to wait a short while if no-one is in the office. I saw a review which mentioned the wind which we noticed too but we managed to balance it out by keeping the balcony door open a bit. The restaurant and pool are not on site but a short walk from the hotel.

Ceiling leaked in one of the bathrooms when someone moved in upstairs. No one came to look at it while we were there (noticed it at midnight when we returned and we left the next day). Air conditioning worked well.

So uncomfortable, felt like I was sleeping on a concrete floor. It would be appreciated if they would add a foam pad to the mattress and couch I did not sleep the whole week because I was so uncomfortable.

No extra amenities like beach towels, bottled water, etc. so pretty basic, but all that we needed. A nice little breakfast restaurant and small grocery store within walking distance. WIFI was free and adequate. Close to snorkeling (with turtles!) in Akumal bay and to Yal-Ku lagoon (lots of beautiful fish). Overall, an excellent place to stay in Akumal at affordable rates. We would definitely return again.

- Verified traveler (10/5): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Absolutely perfect option for a romantic getaway. Ocean view even from the bathroom. Really enjoyed the bathtub! Make sure to look at the sky at night. Would definitely come back. Only issue was we never received the email with the instructions to get in, we got there a bit late but thankfully the people at the restaurant told us which was our room and how to get in.

Their beach club/bar/restaurant was hyped! but was closed during our visit. Closed for renovations, the whole time we were there, no one was working to reopen it. The bikes for rent were worn and nasty. The refrigerator was in serious need of defrosting.
- Yolanda (10/5): Best beachfront stay ever! - We had a wonderful stay at Del Sol. We woke up with the sunrise every morning and that alone is a given extra. We had excellent maid service thanks to Evelia who was fantastic! The unit was very comfortable, it had everything we needed during our stay. Before arriving, the hotel sent us some recommendations about things to bring, and we're happy we read it because the local convenience stores have limited food items, so we brought along spices. The service provided by Teresa and Federico was of high quality. We can't wait to be back there soon!

- PEARI (6/5): - Beach was covered in seaweed and it smelled really bad. There was no hotel staff or lobby. It is far from Tulum
- Keir (8/5): - Great value, for those looking to get away for a few days and just disconnect and relax. Property is on half moon bay which you can swim, but need to get past the few meters of scattered shoreline rock. Beyond the 1st 10ft from shore it’s soft sand and you should be fine for snorkeling. Also the Yal Ku lagoon is a short and pleasant 5 minute walk up the road. This has incredible snorkeling,and where you only pay a small entrance fee for a day wristband. You can also rent snorkel and fins for a reasonable rate, or bring your own. Very good beach bar/restaurant next door, and the walk into the main village is about 10 minutes. It’s a pleasant walk, but also have tuk tuk like transportation options always running into town. This is a very quiet, low key area for those who wish to just relax. No glitz or nightlife action. Great for families looking for quality family time. I would definitely stay here again, but maybe for only 2-3 days as I like a little more night life entertainment options. With that exception, everything else was wonderful at this property 😎👍
- Amy (10/5): - Beautiful view, right on the beach. Small simple room for my daughter and I - had what we needed and we LOVED the restaurant La Buena Vida! Room was clean, wifi was good, smart TV, but again the VIEW and the sound of the waves at night is what we loved most. Restaurant is about 100m S of the hotel. We loved the staff, the view and the food (Alberto was extremely helpful and a great server!) The Jungle Cafe is a short walk N and they do a nice breakfast. It’s a bit of a walk to the tourist area and even farther to the Pueblo, but colectivo (bus) and tuk-tuks are available to go snorkel, swim w turtles or visit local cenotes. We will be back!

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location for a great price - Great location! Couches are really uncomfortable but we were mostly on the beach and did not use them often. Staff was responsive to all requests. Will definitely be back.
- Chad (10/5): Absolutely gorgeous - We LOVED it here! The room was gorgeous and very clean. The staff was wonderful. I cant say enough good things. We loved sitting on our balcony watching the waves in the bay. The only advice I have for travelers is that theres not a lot of restaurants within easy walking distance (when its 95° I didnt want to walk too far) so be prepared to bring some food or get tuk-tuks to get some variety. The Buena Vida restaurant next door is wonderful though! We loved everything we got there (and we ate there almost every day!)

Fully stocked kitchen everything needed to cook comfortably, drinking water provided. Housekeeping kept out room spotless. Can’t wait to return. Be sure to bring water shoes, as shoreline is rocky.

- Megan (8/5): Good for the price! - Pros: Very clean. Shower was hot. A/C worked. Balcony with furniture was nice. Provided drinking water was nice plus cups for it. Beach chairs were well shaded and in good condition. Pool is next door at the restaurant. We brought our own beers over to the pool in a backpack, no one gave us any grief. Cons: not the hotels fault, but the seaweed was piled up a bit and one day the water was very brown. Wifi was not super strong. Bikes are 9 usd for a day which was steep enough a price. The walk to the main beach takes about 25 minutes and it is a HOT 25 minutes - you may get lucky and catch a tuk tuk or the local collectivo but no guarantees. Can ask for a cab booking from Del Sol staff for likely about 200 peso.
- Heidi (10/5): - Our 2 bedroom condo was fantastic, clean, spacious and had everything we needed. So nice to be right on the beach with lots of chairs and loungers, and a table. Great place to sit for our morning coffee. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Frederico is great if you have any questions. The pool is nice and just a short walk up the road or beach. We would certainly come back

- Kathi (8/5): - It was on the beach. That is the biggest draw & that’s what you’re paying for. It felt very safe. We walked around at night & never felt insecure. There is a guard that makes sure you are a resident. Bring your own coffee & bottle opener.
- Jennifer (10/5): Quiet and relaxing beachfront condo! - The condo was great! Adequate supplies for cooking in the kitchen, and a little market just down the street. Beds were comfortable and the cleaning service was top-notch. Air conditioning in every room. The beach was lovely and the snorkeling right outside our door was amazing! There wasn't anyone ever available in the office to call a cab or help with golf cart rental, which was a bummer. La Buena Vista and La Lunita were both walkable and had great food.

- Dario (10/5): - Thank you Del Sol for a wonderful week in Akumal!! The secret rooftop patio and updated kitchen and bathroom were great surprises in this large and well appointed suite. (PS you should tell the world through updated pictures). La Buena Vida is a special place, where else can you walk along the beach to great food and a million dollar view. Akumal is a quiet beachside retreat for those looking for a non-resort vibe with all that Mexico has to offer.
- Carol (6/5): View was great- the area pleasant. - The person who checked us in did not offer any information or assistance. He didn’t tell us about the use of snorkeling/ kayaks etc. When asked about tours the prices were hugely inflated as well as the cabs.
- Mary-Ann (6/5): - The ocean was right out our garden doors beautiful views and few close restaurants ,lighting very poor at the door of condo we arrived at night and had a difficult time trying to fine our condo. Another couple were also lost and confused . Price was great need more information in the condo about the area and we’re to eat and how to get rides.

- John (8/5): Condo unit 2, ground floor. - The location is great, beautiful beach and bay right outside our door. Sunrises are amazing. Le Buena Vida restaurant very good and Happy Hour and Karaoke were fun. Beds are very fire and our unit had no hot water, Luke warm at best. It would be nice to have dish towels in the kitchen and not need to use so many paper towels. Staff was very helpful. The pool was not our favorite but the beach was lovely. Very rocky to get out to snorkel, bring your water shoes. Enjoyed Yal-ku snorkel and Xpu-ha beach nearby.
- Denise (10/5): Great Hotel with beautiful ocean views. - It was the prefect place to stay our last two nights on a 12 day driving trip around the Yucatan. Every room has a beautiful beach view. Our room was excellent, I would highly recommend staying here. Also there is a great restaurant a very short walk on the beach or road.
- Deborah (8/5): - I liked property. Suggestions for those who do not have a car, good to have golf carts to rent so can shop in town. Groceries can be heavy. Hotel room a bit too small . No dressers. A comfortable chair and table would be good but room too small. We were fine but felt crowded, we like the patio too.

Pretty middle of the road and feel we got what we paid for by comparaison in the area. Appreciated each having our own en-suite washrooms! The windows did rattle when it was windy so it was a bit hard to sleep 1 night.

- Sugata (4/5): - The room was dated, in very poor condition. We requested a change of room but there were none available. The shower was terrible… no water. The fan did not work either. The room was in the 3rd floor with steep stairs, no help with luggage since there were no elevators. 😟
- Phyllis (10/5): - I rented the 1 bedroom suite. It was reasonably priced and extremely roomy. Suite had a full kitchen with all utensils, gas stove, coffee maker and microwave. TV, balcony with chairs and table, living room with a sectional couch and coffee table, and a beautiful view of the beach and ocean.
