Guest Reviews
- Kelley (9/5): - The ice machine and elevator were not working
- Christensen (1/5): - Nothing It was dirty, smelled like mildew, the toilet didn’t work and it had cockroaches in our room.
- Bland (7/5): In a Pinch - Quite casino area and café was very good Deluxe king room was the smallest king room we've had in a long time. No coffee maker. Was clean and good for an overnight stay if its the only thing available which was why we stayed as our 1st time on property.
- Jerica (10/5): Would definitely stay again! - It was in town, easily accessible. It was very accommodating to our last minute reservation. Was clean. Staff was friendly and professional and down to earth. There wasn’t anything to note that was negative.
- Brandi (3/5): - We liked that the staff was nice. My husband just had knee surgery and we were there forna softball tournament, therefore we had a ton of items to take to our room and the elevators were broken.
The toilet kept running and had to be opened and messed with everytime we flushed in order for the water to fill.
We also discovered we paid double what all of our friends did that were staying there for some reason.
- Kevin (6/5): - Cheap place to stay for the night Hi brother, is a restaurant I think was hot when the pancakes eggs are cold. The sausage were called but it was a terrible breakfast. Don’t eat there.
- Tina (4/5): - It was a.smoking room not many left in the world Nothing really
- Marilyn (4/5): - T much money If there would have been some tables to play
- Lonnie (1/5): Disappointed - The staff at check in were friendly and helpful Only one lamp worked the rest of the plugs were dead. The tub didn’t drain. Stood in a pool of water trying to shower. And the guy at check out seemed disinterested in me letting him know what was wrong. We don’t want anything free. We were just letting him know some repairs were needed.
Oh, and the ice machine downstairs was turned off! No ice
- Jensen (1/5): - Hotel was closed.
- Richard (1/5): It was HORRIBLE!! We got to Wendover and the Hotel was all closed up. Had to go to the very disgusting Golden Nugget whe - Absolutely nothing! It was closed That it was closed and we had to be moved property to a disgusting hotel

- Bob (5/5): Luckily it was only one night. - The food at the restaurant was good. When we first got there the girl at the front desk was asleep in a chair. Then she gave us a room that had a noisy toilet. Thankfully she gave us another room.
- Suzanne (7/5): Generally a good experience - Everything was clean. It was quiet. Would stay again.
- Debra A (6/5): Boring. Nothing like the PepperMill Hotel. Staff needs more English speaking or different ethnic backgrounds. - Proximity to everything! It smelled of urine, maybe their cleaning supplies. The beds were bad, lopes sides. No amenities, like Kleenex, small coffee machine and small fridge in room.
- Chris (8/5): -
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Oscar (10/5): -
- Mark (5/5): - Not your Fault, the Couple next to me made a lot of noise! I finally knocked on his door and asked them to please quiet it down! And they did!
- Brenda (5/5): -
- Chavez (1/5): - They cancel last minute. They didn't let me know it was closed on the day I booked
- Thomas (2/5): Wish I would of stayed home. - It had availability The showers didn't work, smelly.
- Michael (1/5): Building is closed down. Showed up for nothing. - The building was closed. The hotel seems to be under construction. The doors were locked, lights were out, and do not enter signs everywhere.
- Lisa (7/5): - Location of room, cleanness and friendly staff. No refrigerator in room, asked for extra pillows, didn't get them.
- Brandon (8/5): -

- Gloria (7/5): -
- David (4/5): -
- Cindy (6/5): - Room rate is cheapest of all casinos, also not provideing what all other hotels offer for a comfortable stay.high priced for the inconvenient of no fridge, microwave, coffee, hand or body soap, , no conditioner, lotion, no phone, you can't bring food or drinks that require fridgeration
- Cris (10/5): Not bad. We’d stay here again. - Clean room Sketchy looking people outside
- Brian (10/5): - The room was clean and comfortable, the area was quiet.
- timothy (10/5): -
- Jason (2/5): - Old rooms casino is a ghost town.
- Trebor (1/5): - Was assaulted by a staff member
- Merle (8/5): - It was nice
- Hajra (6/5): - clean
- Debra (8/5): - N/a
- Judd (6/5): - They didn't offer wifi?!?
There are pros and cons wherever you stay.
My only real complaint is false advertising. They have a big lit up sign out front showing the Prospector Cafe is open 24 hours. That's 1/2 the reason I chose this place "assuming" I could get breakfast at 5:00 am. I mentioned this to employees at the restaurant and front desk. They are all aware of this and said management won't do anything about it.
If you're an early bird like me and like breakfast, I would suggest someplace else that honestly offers it.
- Laura (2/5): - Doors on the sides and back of hotel are not secure. Anyone and everyone could walk straight in. The walls are very thin and do not block the screams of noisy children and loud icemaker. The air-conditioning unit was missing the grill and was filthy dirty. I did need to turn the heat on, but immediately turned it off because it stunk so bad like burning dust. I will never stay here again. I will stay at the Peppermill. The coffee bar serve warm drip coffee. Their espresso machine was broken. So dumb. Plus the room that we stayed in at a terrible odor. There wasn’t much I could do about moving Hotels so I just stayed.
- Brown (7/5): -
- Cristina (8/5): -
- Randy (4/5): - Room was clean bed was a little to hard and there was no continental breakfast as it stayed in the description so we were disappointed
- Michael (2/5): - Nothing Elevator was broken, personnel at front desk acted like they didn’t know about it but didn’t care. I asked a hotel worker about it and he said it’s been broken for 3 months.
- John (10/5): - Unusual room structure design.
- Robert (2/5): - Never again would I stay here
- Boyd (6/5): - This is a pretty old hotel. I’ve stayed there before in the zoo carpet it definitely needs better food in the area that they eat in or the cafeteria or whatever you’d like to call. It really needs to be upgraded really bad all the other hotels out of town completely updated. I don’t know who owns this particular hotel but he needs to put some money in it. Otherwise they’re gonna lose it.
- Johany (10/5): - It was clean.
- Norma (10/5): -
- Sharon (5/5): -
- Zoila (10/5): - It was great, I would booke again.
- Gloria (4/5): - Breakfast was horrible. Dont care for a total smokking casino.
.
- Robert (4/5): - Old hotel that needs a big upgrade
- Thomas (6/5): - I did not like the room. no electrical outlets
- Brittany (2/5): - Whole place felt dirty and nasty. Food in restaurant was horrible.
- David (4/5): - It was noisy all night early am place was full of druggies
- Jamie (2/5): - It was hot and stinky from the second we walked in and not one employee greeted us the entire stay. The services were very limited, basically close to none. We had no ice maching, it was out of service. Our non smoking room smelt like people were smoking and the hallways were hot and muggy with absolutley no air flow. YUCK!! Our room temp was set at 78 degrees, so we could barely breathe. The air conditioning was the only thing that worked well for us. Terrible experience and we will never stay here again.
- Grace (6/5): - Everything is significantly outdated if not broken. Our door would not close. The room was not clean (random hair everywhere).
- Robert (8/5): - No refrigerator or micro wave!
- MaryCris (2/5): - Nothing in this place that my husband and I like. Noisy, the air is filthy, elevator not clean working. Needs a good thorough cleaning.
- Izieugbe (8/5): - It was very dirty no clean the hallway
- Darice (4/5): - First problem...the ONE trolly they have for carrying luggage, etc from the car....is BROKEN!! We are seniors and need help with this. If it had not been for a young man named JESSE arriving at the front desk while i was checking in....and offering to carry everything for us...I would have been left to make 5 trips back and forth!! JESSE was so very helpful and thoughtful when the woman at check in seemed uninvolved.
Next problem...I had left my 85 year old husband in the car with the A/C running as it was a long walk to the entrance and check in. When I returned with Jesse I got my husband out of the car and Jesse took us on a short cut to our room. The problem is I did not remember I had left the car running for my husband and none of us heard the engine was on. It STAYED ON for hours until it ran out of gas. The next day my car would not start and I nothing indicated the problem. Out of Gas came up but I knew i had gas. I went in for help and was given the name of a tow company. I found a security guard on my way back out and explained my problem...he interrupted and told me that my car had been running ALL NIGHT and that they could not find WHO it belonged to. WHAT!! The front desk had the year, make. model, color and address that would account for Washington plates!!! Yet...they did not know who's car was running for hours. Security man GEORGE was incredible and very understanding and helpful. THANK YOU GEO. My mistake but Hotel FAILED to prevent damage.
- Paul (2/5): Worse than a motel, and terrible as a hotel. - The food and service in the restaurant were good. I can find nothing else to compliment. Oh, the vat empty parking lot. But the room had none of the normal amenities for a motel (refrigerator, breakfast) but also none of the normal amentities for a hotel - room service, room charges at the restaurant, concierge, or even a local map. The one person at the front desk seemed overwhelmed and undertrained - when I asked about room service, he didn't even know what that was and started telling me the cleaning schedule. There were no USB outlets and very few AC outlets in the room. The WiFi was unsecured and had such poor signal that it was pointless to try to connect to it - it would drop within seconds.
- Robert (6/5): - Property needs a remodel
- Richard (8/5): - The hall way smelled tobacco smoky, but the room was OK. Everything looks old, not rundown, just old.
- Katie (4/5): - The staff at this hotel clearly do not like working at this casino/hotel. The hotel seemed understaffed. We waited in line for 30 minutes to check in. They only had one front desk clerk. Other staff preferred to ignore customers instead of helping them. I booked a room for 3 people. Only 2 towel and 2 wash clothes were in the room. We went down to the front desk to ask for another towel and we were told to come back in 30 minutes after shift change.
The bath tub struggled to drain and the shower had a hard time getting hot water.
The bedding was clean and the beds were made nice. The towels that were there were hung up nicely. The carpets were vacuumed. The bed was comfortable enough but not the same as your own bed. The air-conditioning unit looked like it wanted to fall out of the wall but it worked great. It kept our room a cool 68 degrees. The room was non smoking but it still smelled like cigarettes.
I pre-paid for the room through Expedia. When I got to the hotel I had to put an addition 123.00 deposit. All of but 23.50 was refunded back. I am not sure why I didn't get the 23.50 back. The staff wouldn't say what it was for. They gave me a receipt but it didn't say what it was for either. Before I checked out I made the beds, and folded the towel and washclothes and set them on top of the toilet. We combined our trash to one bin. We wiped down the counters. This place really isn't worth the cost. Travelers find a better hotel than the Red Garter.
- David (10/5): -
- Shannon (9/5): -
- Sandra M (4/5): - The heater/ac unit was very noisy at times making a grinding noise and the bed was uncomfortable. Also no place to plug in my cpap machine since the only outlet was in the middle of the headboard and we couldn’t get to it. No outlets on the bedside lamps. No coffee maker in the room so we went to the Starbucks in the casino and it wasn’t open yet. We were leaving early and needed coffee. When it finally opened their espresso machine wasn’t working so they only had regular coffee. We won’t stay there again.
- Stephanie (8/5): - The restaurant only had one waitress . To long if a wait
- Marcie (6/5): - Location Like all casinos, no coffee etc. I get it
- Jolene (10/5): -
- William C (2/5): - No table games open. Wifi didn't work in our room and they wouldn't do anything about it. Starbucks expresso machine broken. It appeared this place was in the middle of closing. A very limited crew working
- Karen (3/5): - Elevators didn't work, rundown, beds were old, only the restaurant open in the casino was worn and rundown. The food was good, but furniture and displays old and worn.
- King (5/5): Rainbow Garter hotel - Beds were perfect The handicapped bathroom needs bars in the shower. The lip from carpet to tile is a trip hazard. The room was dark except when the curtains were open. Shampoo is really harsh.
- Suzzanne (6/5): - The elevators were broken and we had to walk up 2 flights of stairs. They should of told us about the elevators and offered a bottom floor room.
- Angela (10/5): - Easy Parking Dining options
- Billiejo (10/5): - Always friendly and helpful.
- George (10/5): - Great accomodations!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Red Garter Casino and Hotel - The hotel was not very secure, outside door anyone could enter no card swipe and even from the casino area to the hotel any one could enter. No top latch on room door that most hotels have. The room had the smoke detector missing in a non smoking room. No mini fridge and limited electrical outlets had a cpap machine and needed to plug it in had to unplug a lamp. The king size bed was worn out and very firm no pillow top. Pillows were terrible completely flat or lumpy. Two night stay and only towels for one night and house keeping didn’t come by until you checked out. Would not recommend staying here.
- Brown (5/5): - casinos rule Tiny room over priced rock hard old mattress… but if you wanna stay in wendover for a night of drinking its the cheapest of the hotels
- Edgardo (8/5): - Great
- Richard (8/5): - nice place
- German (9/5): -
- Michele (4/5): - Motel did not provide any soap ,shampoo, conditioner. They had a dispenser in the shower on the wall that we were told covered what I mentioned above. Mind you there was only 1 dispenser.,Also we were in an ADA room . It certainly was not . Putting a shower chair in the bathroom does not qualify that as ADA.,There were no hand grips in the shower or by the commode. It was also a long walk to get to our room. We were not happy at all with our stay
- Claire (10/5): -
- Barbara (4/5): - Terrible smell throughout!
- Yves (5/5): Nous vivons comme tous les ans pour la Bonneville - L’emplacement! L’accueil très moyen voir mal
Le Starbucks coffee était très mal tenu !
Pas de piscine
- Virginia (2/5): - 9:30am. The check-in was professional and flawless.
Check- out the next morning at 7:30am was the exact opposite. Very poor customer service.
The clerk said they were unaware of any problem during the night. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he doesn't come in until 11am. I asked for corporate number or address. The clerk said he didn't have that information.
During the night, the Fire Alarms went off. We called the front desk, opened the hall door and many guests were already in the hall.
The front desk told us it was not a fire, and that the fire department would be there in 5 minutes to turn it off. 30 minutes later the alarm was still going off. Many gathered outside, we called the desk again and were told we weren't the only guests calling.
Finally the noise ended a little after 1pm.
Nightime service was practically nonexistent.
1st the restaurant didn't observe their posted hours. Closed at 9;30
2nd....During the night fire alarms went off. That started at approximately 12:30pm. It continued until a little after 1pm.
3rd..We were not even given an apology for the disruption in our stay.
Very disappointing.
- Eric (6/5): - Subpar facilities but friendly and helpful staff
- Rose (6/5): - Double quern room was clean, nice newer carpet and comfortable beds. No coffee msker
- Andrea (6/5): - This is an older casino so definitely out dated.
