• Alessandra (10/5): Romantic stay - Personale cordiale, siamo stati accolti con gentilezza e professionalità dalla ragazza della reception che ci ha spiegato i vari servizi che offriva la struttura. La camera era davvero carina e romantica. Camera e bagno puliti, sala colazione e ristorante puliti. In camera abbiamo trovato il bollitore per poterci fare un the caldo. Per colazione vasta scelta sia dolce che salato, e cappuccino buonissimo 😋 Per quanto riguarda la cena, era davvero costosa, anche se i piatti erano squisiti. Nel complesso, la nostra esperienza presso Aurora Lodge è stata molto piacevole e romantica 💕

• Rumiana (10/5): Great value, amazing place to spot auroras, fantastic food and awesome staff, and a nice car hot tub to relax in. - If you are looking for aurora sightings, this is the perfect spot! The staff was amazing, the food was fresh and cooked in a spotless opened kitchen with fresh herbs picked right in front of us, and the best part- the reception host came to alert us about the opening in the clouds which allowed a spectacular view of the aurora!!! The room we stayed was a cottage style so we could hear the other guests, but we were not disturbed. Overall, great place for the price. If you want more privacy, there were more pricy options in the same complex.

• Bergþóra (9/5): - The bed was good and the breakfast. The view is wonderful from lobby, breakfastroom and from the hot tubes! I would have like to meet my family in the lobby until the rooms were ready but it was closed until then (16:00). I would have liked to have drink and go to the private for example. The meeting point was out door and it was cold weather. The room was so cold after the cleaning, but ok in the night.

• Nadine (9/5): Toller Aufenthalt mit Aurorasichtung - Das Ambiente und die Lage ist wirklich sehr schön. Man wird vom Personal auf die Aurora aufmerksam gemacht bzw. auf Wunsch sogar dafür geweckt, so dass man sie auch nicht verpasst. Das Essen war auch sehr lecker. Das Personsal war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Hot Tubs mit Blick in die Natur und auf den Sternenhimmel sowie die Aurora sind wirklich super. Es ist einfach sehr hellhörig, da sich die Zimmer in Holzhütten befinden. Es werden daher sogar Ohrstöpsel bereitgestellt. Wir wussten das aber vorher.

Conseguimos ver auroras do nosso quarto, que era um dos melhores para isso (15). O único problema foi o vento que estava, que tornava super difícil entrar e sair do quarto.

• Andrew (6/5): We desperately wanted to love this place - It’s always a bad sign when you check into a room and notice they have ear plugs in the room. The setting is absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast was great. The bed was very comfortable but the room are in essentially portables so the walls are paper thin. They have made the best of it but it was still really disappointing. The walls are paper thin. It’s like staying in student housing in a beautiful setting with great breakfasts.

• tracyrX6709LY (10/5): Rustic/boutique hotel overlooking an Iceland range/river - Excellent hotel in a rustic/boutique hotel overlooking an Iceland range down to a river. All rooms are cabins grouped in four but very private and very modern. Two geothermal hot tubs. Restaurant with a small kitchen, chef, and support staff was excellent! Bar area with a sitting area that has a fireplace.

It was nice that breakfast was included even if it was not the best we had on our trip Outer buildings were poorly sited such that only 2 of 4 in each bedroom building had nice views. We were looking at a building instead of the view. A real letdown and poor design.

I especially appreciated the knowledgable staff who, when the dining room was closed as schedule for dinner, offered several excellent dining options in the nearest town. Doors to the room were difficult to operate at first. Thought I locked myself inside for a minute! Resolved without issue.

Two hot tubs at different temperatures. Kind and helpful staff. Favorite place I stayed in Iceland. Everything about the hotel was well thought out from the lobby to the bar to the rooms.
• Christopher (10/5): Perfect stop along the ring road! - Aurora Lodge Hotel was our first stop outside of Reykjavik as we drove Iceland's Ring Road. And we were so glad we chose to stay here! We loved everything about our stay! The staff were welcoming and made check-in simple. Our room was clean, comfortable, and just the right size. The dining room provided excellent dinner options and had a delicious breakfast. We were so happy with our stay here and would absolutely recommend staying here. I cannot think of a single thing we didn't like about Aurora Lodge Hotel.

• Jeff (10/5): Great property with amazing food including free breakfast included. - Beautiful place with a great location which included local geothermal heated hot tubs onsite! This isn’t as much about the property as it is about the weather as we stayed there. There were high wind warnings with gusts up to 52 miles per hour that actually stayed pretty constant from the time we arrived until 4am which shook the room all night long as well as was pretty noisy. The only complaint about the place is that the window would not shut 100% so it had a whistling sound most of the night.

• Susan (7/5): Nice and quiet, but if you call yourself Aurora, then you need to change the lighting and the wake up calls - It was remote and quiet and the front desk gal was super nice. Excellent breakfast. Fun games you can borrow. They don’t offer wake up calls for the Aurora at least they didn’t ask us and No phones in rooms. the patio lights were so bright you have to shut your blinds to sleep, very hard to see Aurora with all these bright porch lights on. Also the Jacuzzi’s are so exposed and windy. No one wanted to go in. And there’s no towels so you have to use your one room towel? The bar and restaurant were also prohibitively expensive.

Overall: worth to stay here I don't like shower curtains.. And maybe there's no TV inside the room.. The road (after main road, about 500 meters) is really in a bad condition

We had a room at the end of the building that overlooked the nesting birds by the river. I opened the shades and watched the birds from the comfort of the room when the day got windy. Phenomenal! Good food for dinner and breakfast. The room was small but comfortable. The walls were a bit thin, but we were tired so not a problem for us. Could be a bother for some. Gorgeous views.

However, Iceland as a tourist destination is completely over-rated, very expensive ($20 for a veggie Subway sandwich) and very disappointing. Wasted our 5 days here - there are better glaciers in Alaska, or hot springs in Costa Rica. A lot of driving for very little upside - better cliffs and landscapes in Scotland, Ireland, India, and pretty much anywhere else
