Extra nice touch, some beverages in the fridge! We were above the bar and there was a lot of banging door noise. Maybe some softer close mechanism would be good. It did not go on late into the night, so not a big thing!

The pillow were rather thin. It was a bit noisy early morning with people walking upstairs. On the booking was river view but we had the car park with some of the river... Also, check out at 10am is a bit early.
- Emma (8/5): A lovely stay in a quiet and peaceful location. - It’s a beautiful place with a lovely riverside location. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable and we had everything we needed to enjoy our visit. The coffee machine, complimentary water and toiletries were perfect and the bed linen and towels were clean and comfortable. We didn’t visit the bar or restaurant this time but it looked lovely and staff were friendly. The only small snag was that there was a room opposite ours that was used by, I am presuming staff, quite late (around 11/11.30pm) both nights and when accessing the room, the doors would slam shut and as a result, our door shook too. There was keys jangling etc and moving things around so perhaps a storage room - it was enough to wake us all up which was a shame.

- Female46uk (5/5): pricey for what it is, wouldnt go back - the bed was comfy and the riverside location was pretty unfortunately the hotel has been refurbished in a way that had no charm or character, and felt on a par with a basic business hotel - they could have made much more of it, especially with its lovely setting. The fake grass on the terrace was particularly poor. It was priced as if a boutique country inn but styled like a premier inn. I didn't try the food, as I opted to find somewhere with more character to eat - but that said it did seem quite busy (i was there on a saturday night) - so I guess it must have appeal, just not for me sorry

It's OK if you are having a full breakfast, but I only had poached eggs on toast; so I thought £13.50 was a tad expensive. I also wasn't too impressed by the restaurant in the evening. I thought the portions were quite small especially for a man. My chicken Kiev was over cooked and had practically no garlic. We also had olives with feta, but again hardly any olives.

There was a very welcoming young man when we arrived and he showed us to the room I had booked which said river view but once’s in the room it was more the car park. He very kindly changed the room for us. The food was very delicious. The shower in our room needs looking at as not much water came out from the head other than that no issues.

The cost of all the meals was very reasonable and very good value. The room was cozy, warm and comfortable with a view over the river and surrounding countryside. It was quiet and peaceful. We loved the little light in the bathroom that came on in the night when you opened the door. The pillows were flat and did not match the luxury of the very comfortable bed. A plug socket next to the mirror would have been helpful.

- Joseph (9/5): A pleasant stay next to the river. - The rooms and pub are tastefully decorated and comfortable. The staff are helpful. The restaurant facing the river has a nice atmosphere. The overall quality of the food is good. A wonderful place to spend a summer's evening. Some of the restaurant dishes are not quite as expected. For example the smoked haddock scotch egg has a lot of potato and not much fish. Whilst the chicken Caesar salad had a huge piece of chicken with just a few leaves, you would normally expect some chicken strips to be added to mostly salad. Food overall a bit pricey. However we did enjoy the overall experience of our meal.

- Jade (10/5): We will definitely be back! - Everything! The staff were incredibly lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately, we got the times wrong for early check in but we were attending a wedding so without having a major panic, they were able to get our room ready for us asap. Definitely a huge relief and thank you for helping us so last minute! Not much at all! Location wise, there isn’t much around but we didn’t come here to explore the area.

- SEAN (8/5): Great stay, but bed too soft - Great dinner, enough choice, price just about ok. Great breakfast (and big) Great staff Beer prices acceptable. Only shame was bed was too soft (and pillows) It was probably a quality, expensive bed but we found it so soft it was difficult to sleep on (which is the reason to stay there!) Almost felt like head was lower than our feet. But if you like a soft bed 10/10 The weather wasn't good enough for us to spend time outside, but the facilities were ideal for a sunny day.
