Guest Reviews
- wiltshire (10/5): - Arrived at the hotel and got the keys in a few minutes . the room was warm and cozy. lots of breakfast bars and other cakes and coffee and tea available down stairs in a very well kept room with a TV and comfortable sofas to sit and chairs and tables to have your own food to eat there I didn't like the rope up the stairs and the wooden floors was a bit noisy for other guests .
- Kathryn (8/5): Good location - Great location for the ferry Rooms very small and nowhere to put clothes except for a few hangers on the wall
- Patrick (10/5): - Use of the communal dining / lounge area. Nothing negative to report

- john (9/5): Very convenient for the ferry. - Location near ferry. Easy to get to. Parking convenient.
- Ion (7/5): -
- Holly (9/5): Super comfy and clean. - Easy check in, host super helpful when I couldn't find the code they had sent. Very good telephone manners.
Exceptionally clean room and bathroom, bed very comfortable and room temperature was perfect. Some kind of noise all night, but we were staying in a port town, so could have been anything, not the inns fault.
Sockets for charging were limited but the good made up for everything, would definitely recommend and stay again if in Anglesey.
- Alice (9/5): Lovely little spot, perfect for a pre-ferry stay. Very easy to access. - Very easy to access, nicely lit up on arrival so didn't feel intimidating late at night, had exactly what I needed. Lovely tray of tea, coffee, snacks too. Easy to leave in AM when I was up early for ferry. Room was small but perfect for what I needed! The common area looked very nice too, if I had more time or occasion. Nothing comes to mind.

- Jay (9/5): View - View from room was lovely off old harbour to bird watch from nice and comfy room N/A
- Martin (10/5): Excellent value, comfortable and very clean. Fully recommended. - Very clean.
- Dee (8/5): Cosy room, thoughtful hosts - The guest lounge is lovely- very generous selection of teas, coffees, snacks and condiments.
Great communication from hosts.
Comfy bed. Bedside light was useless. I’m sure I could have asked for a new bulb but it was late by then.
Could hear chatting from adjacent or room below.
Road noise - very loud trucks when late ferry came in
- Matthias (8/5): Sehr guter Aufenthalt auf der Reise nach Irland! - Sehr zuvorkommende und hilfsbereite Gastgeber, einfach super!
- Peter (8/5): -
- Susan (6/5): Great for a quick, one night, pre-ferry stay - *Location excellent for ferry access
*Property immaculately clean
*In-room facilities good
*The guest lounge comfortable and well provisioned
*Given the building’s limitations, a remarkably good b&b but not really suited to anyone elderly or a little infirm (large people might have issues with the ‘bijou’ room sizes)
* *The steep stairs and rope bannister difficult and a tad scary (we are all getting on a bit!)
*Rooms very small - difficult for the couple but not too bad for my single occupancy
*Noise from neighbouring bathroom fans a problem for Rm3
- Nicholas (6/5): A tortuous afternoon and night in Holyhead.couldn’twait for the ferry to depart - Very tastefully decorated and the shared dining area was well setup Not so much the property as Holyhead which has no appeal at all. Lots of closed shops, very limited dining options and nothing to do except catch the ferry.
Very small room and tiny bed.
- Bronwyn (10/5): This was the perfect place to spend the night after taking the ferry into Holyhead. It is within walking distance of the - Beautiful area, a great place to walk, close to ferry and train station We could not figure out how to turn the heat on. It ended up being fine because the bed duvet was very warm!
- Andora (10/5): -
- David (6/5): -
- Alex (10/5): - It was a fine stay - thank You so much!
;-)
- Anderson (10/5): - The self check in feature was well explained and easy to use
- Clare b (7/5): -
- Jane (8/5): - Very clean & cosy room with everything you would need for a one night stay. Ideally located for catching the ferry to Ireland. An easy walk into the town centre & well located to an EV charger which was also good for us. Will definitely stay again when we are next visiting Ireland.
- Rollin (10/5): - We liked everything about the Hut. The lounge area is a nice feature.
- David (8/5): - Clean, good value, great information, excellent communication, nice client lounge area. Very small so cramped particularly with our luggage. However, the listing showed the size of the room so it's not a complaint but just a recognition of how small 6 m² really is!
- Maria (10/5): - Rent,Snyggt,Enkelt!?
Det är bara och slagga in..... ???????
- Lyn (5/5): A few changes would make the Hut excellent - Really nice room, very clean and tidy. Small but well equipped bathroom. Very easy instructions for our late check in.
Room was very nicely decorated with good tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. Room was rather dark and bedside lamp was useless, so we were unable to read. A more functional light would be better.
Noise from the road was unbearable - secondary glazing would make a real difference.
Such a shame because this could be a delightful place for a stopover or longer stay. It is obvious that the owners put a lot of thought into the rooms and the overall experience for the guests, just need to go the extra mile.
- Campbell (6/5): -
- Trudy (6/5): -
- Margaret (9/5): Brilliant! - The location was perfect for catching the ferry to Ireland the next day.
There was a great Chippy just yards down the road which was very convenient and with the added bonus of all the facilities offered by 'The Hut' to sit in comfort and eat, and to have a 'complimentary' drink too! We could have done with a bigger bed but can see it just wouldn't fit in the room!

- Jamie (8/5): Our stay was too short! I wish we had got to be there longer! - It was very clean. Great communication when we had any questions. I would stay here again. The stairs were a bit small carrying luggage upstairs.
- Sandie (10/5): A comfortable stay - Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, it is in a perfect position near to the ferry port. Nothing i didn't like.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Cosy small bedroom. Spacious shared lounge/eating area with drinks/snacks etc books, local information.
Clear instructions for arrival & departure
- Aleemah (9/5): - The themed rooms are awesome. The guidebook was useful. I would have preferred to pay extra for breakfast. I have stayed at places before where the owner has made the breakfast and done the washing up to save on paying for catering staff.
- Julia (8/5): Last minute choice but close to township and walks etc - Breakfast room is lovely. Would have liked some savoury options. Ie. cheese and biscuits
Maybe more flexible lounge room hours
- Al (8/5): Lovely stay for work, was convenient for getting in and out of town - Lovely large communal area for eating and relaxing
- Verena (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Sayali (8/5): -
- C. (6/5): -
- kevin (7/5): Fabulous overnight location for the ferry - Fabulous location for the ferry, good space downstairs Room was very cramped with a medium-sized dog, but it was clean and ample for our needs
- Peter French (8/5): -
- Artur (10/5): -
- Hayley (8/5): -
- Corinna (8/5): A very clean and well maintained property which is ideally located for the ferry to Ireland but is a little small. - Closeness to ferry. Very clean and we had everything we needed. The communal room downstairs was lovely and Howard was very responsive to all messages. This room would have been perfect for a single person but it was just a little too small for two.
- Corinna (8/5): Lovely clean and convenient property though would probably suit one person rather than two - Closeness to the port for ferry to Ireland
Everything very clean and we had everything we needed The beds were a little uncomfortable and the room a tad too small for 2 people
- Julia (10/5): Would definitely stay again. - Lovely place! The decor was charming and everything was comfortable.
- Clive (2/5): Avoid this Guest House unless you have no option - To start with the good bit's, The decor and general presentation of the facility were very attractive and well thought out. However: No Breakfast, despite it being offered at the time of booking was a big disappointment. The room was tiny, and I'm very glad I didn't bring my wife, as the 'Double' bed, was in reality a large single. The mattress was very cheap, like a marshmallow so my back was a disaster in the morning. The pillows were like rubber balls, (thank god I brought my own). The bathroom was designed for munchkins and anyone of a larger persuasion, would not have fit in the shower. No desk, one small chair. The corridors were also very narrow, so god help anyone trying to get out in a hurry. Additionally - we never saw a member of staff.
- Mary reen (2/5): Tiny cramped room. - Room was tiny cramped stifling and claustrophobic. Unfair to sell this as a double room. It's a very small single at best. Could not move past each other in the room and we are 2 petite people. Small double bed pushed against the wall. Had to climb over partner to get in and out.
Could hear everything from neighbouring room, when they had shower the pump made a horrendous noise in our room. Also could almost hear their conversation.
Shower didn't work properly.
Cameras everywhere. Hosts had zero interest in meeting guests. Had no desire to eat downstairs when you are being watched on a camera. Also reminded to behave as you are being watched on camera (or something to that effect).
Had to shut the window at 5 am as the noise from lorries driving to and from ferries was too much to sleep. We both had a restless night.
Sorry for the negative comments but it is truthful review and did not meet our expectations for the price.
- Brenda (6/5): Very small room... - The location to downtown Holyhead and the ferry/train station was great. The room was quiet as it faced away from the street. We found the room to be quite clean. Two females after completing a long hiking trip being placed on the third floor with very steep stairs. The room was so tiny, we ended up leaving one suitcase in the lounge as there just wasn't room. The beds were marginal and were not conducive to a long night of sleep.
- Irwin (10/5): Excellent, comfortable and friendly stay - Proximity to the port and train station as well as the costal path is brilliant. The property is clean, facilities are great, simple check-in and out process, and the communal area is very clever and a great help if you just want a casual lite bite. N/A
- Jacqueline (9/5): Great value and an ideal base to tour the island or to catch the ferry. - Fabulous location right at the harbour. The room was as described, compact and clean with an incredible view. There’s a communal lounge to eat take out with basic facilities for tea/coffee and snacks. There’s no reception (meet and greet) and the keys were in a lock box outside. This was problematic for a couple of new arrivals - please note it’s a turn clockwise to open !
- Sexton (8/5): The room met my expectations. Very comfortable stay hassle free - Very convenient for an overnight stay awaiting our ferry crossing.
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alistair (8/5): Very good -
- Cory (7/5): Good - The "Bonus Room" downstairs was very nice and provided complimentary water and snacks. Great place to stay if catching the ferry or train. Not much near by for restaurants
- Carolien (8/5): Convenient and comfortable stay - Good location. Very clean and comfortable. The coffee, tea and snacks were a pleasant surprise.
- Gregory (9/5): Clean, comfortable. Great location for exploring Holyhead by foot. - We really appreciated the extra efforts that were made to accommodate our needs despite having difficulty with our mobile phones to receive email enroute to the hotel after Booking canceled all of our reservations. Thankfully, The Sea Front Inn, had a room for us for two nights and didn't require us to move rooms. We were in a pickle when the hotel in Conwy, where we were previously booked for the one night prior to traveling to Holyhead, left us without a place to stay on a busy weekend. Sea Front Inn was previously scheduled for just one night stay but that was canceled too... Anyway, they saved us. We really enjoyed Holyhead and Wales. Hope to return again soon! Nothing. However, we struggled with the two flights of narrow - steep stairs with our luggage. This was my error when booking. Additionally, I was unaware that access to the Irish Ferry for walk-on passengers was not as close to the Sea Front Inn as it appeared on Google Maps, so we had to return to the train station to take a Irish Ferry shuttle bus to the Ferry. This wasn't an easy walk for two elderly folks with large roller suitcases.
- Camilla (9/5): Recommended for a short visit 🙂 - Easy access and nice Hut Guest Lounge available with free snacks. Great location near the harbor. A bit small bed for two persons although we like to sleep close to each other.
- Anne (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (10/5): A Holyhead gem - Almost everything esp the generously equipped, and comfortable, lounge. The double bed is up against the wall, making it hard to get up in the night and providing no bedside light and nowhere to put glasses, phone, book etc.
- Siobhan (10/5): Exceptional - The Hut was immaculate. Bed and pillows really comfortable. Felt safe and secure. Loved the communal area. Would definitely recommend The Hut if staying in Holyhead. Everything was perfect.
- Mauron (9/5): Superb - It was perfectly situated and the hosts were very responsive. When I asked if I could check-out later because of my train, they were very helpful.
The room was very cosy and everything was how it was described on the website. I needed to carry my heavy suitcase up the narrow stairs, which was very hard. It might be nice to have a room for suitcase storage. However, I also didn't ask for a solution. I'm sure the hosts would have helped me with the problem if I had asked them.
- Clive (8/5): Good value, would happily stay again - Clean and affordable Small bedroom
- Clare (9/5): Superb - Thoughtful little touches. Perfect before ferry.
- Wendy (8/5): Handy for an early morning ferry -
- Richard (8/5): Fun stop over but room and beds a bit small for the price - Quirky, fun and well located. Nice communal room with Tea facilities and friendly welcome The double bed was small and it seemed over priced
- Dorota (9/5): Superb -
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Clean dog friendly
- Gina (7/5): Nice enough for a night - Nice room, nautical theme was nice. Able to leave large suitcases downstairs.
Good lounge, microwave, dishes & cutlery provided. Room & bathroom were small (as advertised). Bed next to the wall was a hassle.
- Gary (7/5): Good hotel in Holyhead - Good customer service, quick response from the owner. The bathtub drain wasn’t working properly, the location was ok, the better location would have been closer to the train/ferry station.
- Brenda (5/5): Passable - Cramped
- Eileen (10/5): Very convenient for ferry - Cosy room; even better was the lounge/diner where you could bring your own food and drink. Though tea and biscuits were provided. Noise from bar next door
- Lesie (8/5): Very good -
- Nico (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (6/5): it s ok ... - cosy room not far from the ferry. It can happen, but there was no towel in the room. (There is no staff in the building to ask for one)
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Exactly what we wanted, no fuss clean and tidy accommodation that allows dogs to stay - Location, cleanliness and ease of self serve accommodation that accepts dogs
- Swinscoe (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (10/5): Fab - Sorry but Im a bit of a snob when it comes to overnight accommodation, I want somewhere nice, and I like it to be well located too. So, when I found out I needed a Saturday late night stay after the ferry from Dublin was to finally arrive at Holyhead, I felt that The Hut would tick all my boxes. And it did!
Contacting the two owners beforehand was easy, and they’re so helpful, I had that comfortable feeling that evening if the ferry would have me arrive at midnight at my accommodation, that it wouldn’t be an issue (I fully intended to be quiet going to my room at that late hour and I’m just glad of the chance to do it)….other places in Holyhead have a much earlier and strict curfew, which is all very honourable in some ways, but what about poor old weary travellers who have no choice but to arrive towards midnight? The Hut are ok with this, there’s a key safe system, works perfectly too, and so I knew I didn’t have to fret during the Saturday in Dublin, over whether I’d be sleeping on a bench at the ferry port due to a difficult hotel.
The ferry was a few mins late getting in, 23.15, and to cap that, foot passengers are made to wait for ages til every last car has had the luxury of leaving first. The;it was a weary trudge to The Hut on foot, but mercifully it’s not far at all, ten mins walk for the ferry port and train station, over the nice foot bridge then along the harbour road. The key safe worked fine as I said earlier. Yes, the stairs are a little narrow, I guess not good for people with any mobility issues, but fine for those of us who are currently able bodied.
Found the room easily, and it has a good solid door and lock.
The room isn’t big, Princes Maud anyway, but You just want clean, tidy, functional, welcoming, a good solid bed, a shower, WC, and in my case a nice harbour view too, the Hut delivered on all those things and more, thanks for the coffee, biscuits, etc. I felt confident that I could contact the owners if needed. Great! Thanks for all NA
- Dawn (9/5): Super cute and very clean - The property was clean and cute. It was exactly as the owners described it. Communication from the owners was relevant and timely. The beds were uncomfortable but, in all fairness, we’ve stayed in Hiltons and Hyatts on this trip and have yet to experience a soft bed. The number of stairs to the room. I’m older and found it very difficult carrying my luggage up the narrow staircase for three flights.
- John (6/5): Useful overnight stay before ferry - Perfect location. No breakfast! No breakfast were not informed that it wasn't available.
Thought we had booked B&B
- Allison (9/5): A very comfortable and friendly stay. - We had a delightful stay at The Hut. We enjoyed the cabin-like rooms and the use of the common room. The showers were great with good pressure. It was very kind of the hosts to allow us to store our luggage for another half a day.
- Sona (10/5): Lovely, clean and comfortable, and I would definitely stay again. - It was really comfortable. Lovely decor with a nautical (and titanic) theme. Clearly Howard and Jason are drawn to the history of the Titanic, and it’s nice to have touches of the couple around the place. It makes it feel welcoming and homely. We had our two dogs with us, and the use of the lounge was great. Confortable and with space for them to pad about, and no one else was in the place at the time, so my daughter and I relaxed and watched Netflix in the lounge with a glass of wine! The complimentary drinks and snacks were a lovely touch, and there were even dog treats! If I were getting the ferry over to Ireland in the morning again, I would definitely stay at Howard and Jason’s place. Nothing
