Guest Reviews
- Yvette (10/5): Loved it! - Peaceful, quiet, clean, friendly lady owner. You can use fridge, microwave on lower floor. Comfy beds! About 1.5 hr to Bryce, about 1.25h to Zion parks
- Refugio (10/5): - Everything
- Stacie (6/5): - There was no notification that the lake was being drained and had dangerous water conditions, the website said they had a market, coffee and a dining area, they had none, that were in use anyway. We had a second room for guests who weren't arriving until the evening. I explained this to staff but when our other guests arrived they were treated rudely. TV did not work, DVD player did not work. Half of the DVD's that were available to borrow had no movie in them. Just very disappointing overall. We stayed here once before and fell in love with it. This visit makes me not want to go back.
- Debora (2/5): - Could not even stay there, ABSOLUTE NO mention all rooms upstairs and no elevator--had 89 year old that could not do stairs. Picture on website totally not what it looks like from rooms. I left message with property to call and verify no stairs to rooms and NO response
- Rambert (10/5): - Great excape for my family. Great location and views.
- Steven (6/5): - This is a "fishing camp" not an overnite lodging while on a road trip. 20 miles out of town,no place to eat, no cell service, no tv, VCR did not work. All rooms on second floor,
One microwave for the building. If coming to fish Lake Panguitch, it probably works.
- Adi (2/5): - My doughter got electric shoke when she try to charge her cell phone, the beds was with hair and with dirty spots.
The charge my card but i ask to pay in cash.
- Stephenie (8/5): - Will come back. It’s dated but we had great trip. Comfy beds, lots of space.
- Josephine (6/5): - Fishing
- william (10/5): - great host great view fisherman heaven .
- desertwanderr (10/5): Great things in small pqckages - The service is flat outstanding. Very friendly and welcoming. Felt like coming home. Jim and Kendra (sorry if I mispell name) were very friendly upon arriving. We stayed in a comfortable room that was clean and had all the basics you needed. The next day they actually moved us to a another room with a room of the lake which was phenomenal to see the deer and geese chilling on the shore. Lorraine was phenomenal housekeeper who was very friendly and actually left a small toy fish in the room for our five year old daughter. That was the only fish we caught for the whole trip. We rented a boat to go out for the afternoon but due to wind we had to cut it short. Jim was very understanding about that and even offered the next day if was available we could use it again for the a little while. Sadly we had to leave or would of taken that offer. This was great place that was comfortable and great service with friendly and great people. Go and enjoy the weekend there
- Jess (6/5): - The team was great
- Larry (4/5): - Restaurant and store were closed during our stay, so we had to drive to another place to eat and there wasn’t anything close. Also they needed coffee pots in the room.
- Tony (10/5): - So clean and quiet.
- erin (2/5): Fine print about check in closing time not obvious - I didnt see the fine print if there was any, that there was no check in after 5:30pm, and we didnt have a place to stay that night in the middle of nowhere and ended up paying for a place we didnt get to stay in. Very disappointing.
- Nathan (2/5): - No hot water
No one explaining how to check out
No coffee supplied
No one working the reception area
It did not feel like a legit business
The side of the building was covered with swallows posing a health hazard
Nothing to do and no amenities offered. Had to travel to a campsite to cook food
- Christine (6/5): No heat and okay clean - We came to stay one night. We did not know there was no heat and with the temperature in the 30s that was kind of a big deal. The room did have a space heater which was helpful and we had inadvertently brought some blankets which also helped but having that statement on the website should be standard especially for this time of year.
It was a cute place and fairly clean. No great sheets on the bed. Other people’s hair in my bed. Kind of gross. Bathroom was clean. It was okay. Just okay.
- geri (2/5): - Self check in no staff fine. However, staff tried to gouge us with multiple add on charges not shown on Expedia “cash only”. Very confrontational which completely ruins a fun few days fishing trip. This was our third trip at this location this year. Currently they have lost their liquor license, closed a good restaurant, store is empty, owner-manager not present. Sadly we will no longer choose to stay here.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very misleading description - This place was extremely disappointing, starting with the Hotels.com description. It is listed as being in the town of Panguitch, which is convenient to two national parks. But it is *not* in Panguitch; it is at Panguitch Lake . . . 20 miles away. Not at all convenient.
Then, there's the staff. Their web site says they are at the desk until 7pm. Wrong. They closed at 5pm and would not answer the phone after that hour. They advertise free coffee in the lobby from 7am. Also wrong. The place was locked up tight when we left at around 8:30am. We never saw a single staff member! Nor any of those wonderful common areas in their pictures -- all locked up. If we had had a serious problem with our room we would have been out of luck.
As for the room itself, it was very, very basic. No microwave, no refrigerator. A huge, state of the art flatscreen TV -- but no cable! It could only play DVDs. Utterly useless. In terms of value we paid $150 for a room that was worth maybe $65, tops.
I would rate the Aspen Cove "Resort" unacceptable due to the unavailability of any staff. Had we had any sort of emergency we could have been in serious trouble. My advice: avoid this place.
- John (2/5): - Do not stay here
- K1905DWwilliamt (2/5): Falsely Advertised - We chose September 9th & 10th based on the wonderful accommodations pictured, i.e. the restaurant and the view. The implications were everything was operational. When we arrived, the place was closed for the winter. No restaurant. When we complained to the owner, we were told that we could drive 18 miles to Panguitch for our meals. That is not what we paid full price for. To this day (9/15/23) their website implies full operation. Beware!
- Jessica (6/5): - Place and service have gone downhill since last year.
- Luis (6/5): - .
- Max (2/5): - It’s the worst room I’ve ever been in dirty sheets and had bed bugs I didn’t stay had to leave and look for another hotel it was a terrible experience for my family and me!
- SHAWN (6/5): - A place like non other with super great staff but not as advertised. We booked the largest room to accommodate 5 yet had only 3 towel sets. No trash bin anywhere in the room. Also there was no satellite TV, or bar. But property as a whole was great anyway. Please update the property description so as to meet expectations. Despite the gripes, still highly recommend. Gold Star service. Platinum location. Hope to come back again.
- Taylor (10/5): - We are now repeat customers and we will go back very soon. We love Kendra and Jim they keep the place feeling so friendly and welcoming.
- Catherine (10/5): - The staff at Aspen Cove were wonderful and accommodating. We will definitely stay again, and longer too. No frills, pet friendly hotel right on the lake.
- Brian (8/5): - Hosts were nice and helpful, and the room was clean. Unfortunately we were there a bit early in the season so the restaurant/bar was not open yet and there was a lot of construction going on (both early in the morning and late in the evening) - this combined with an older building with thin walls/floors/ceilings led to a rather noisy experience.
- Steve (8/5): - This WILL BE a great place to stay. The setting is fantastic, & the staff are friendly & accomodating. The renovations they are IN THE PROCESS of completing will make this a wonderful place. However, Expedia should REFUND our $ since we had to use space heaters in our rooms & had to smell paint fumes, since renovations weren't complete. Why were we allowed to book these dates?
- janece (6/5): - It was an hour and a half drive to get there from the freeway, but the facility was nice. We did get asked several times after we paid (cash) if we could pay again though. That was a bit disheartening. Other than that it was a decent place and we had a great time.
- Gabriela (8/5): - Heater not the best and being off season we didn’t have many options to pick from
- Qichao (10/5): - The owner is the greatest. There is a lot of fun just on the property. We lived in a room with a loft, kids were so excited with this room. Also, you will see the lake view, it's cozy and a wonderful place to stay.
- Chris (8/5): Comfortable and right on the lake. - Lorraine was a great host. We stayed during the off season as we were ice fishing. The restaurant was closed at this time but that’s ok. Rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable and pet friendly. Sitting by the fireplace after a long day on the comfy couch was a nice end to each day. Can’t wait to go back!
- Melina (10/5): Great stay - Great stay and the Loraine who works there was very helpful & friendly.
- Efrosinia (8/5): - Everything was nice
- Jessica (10/5): - We had a great time staying at Aspen Cover Resort.
- Jose (10/5): - Excelent
- Hector (6/5): - The room and beds were great. Staff was good. Room was hot. No reason why ceiling fans can not be installed. Had to keep windows open for air circulation but Friday night employees partying and super loud until 1:30am. Could not sleep. Saturday night was not as bad. Partying stopped by 11pm.
- Samantha (10/5): - This property was nice and quiet. Its like camping but in a room. Very basic room but perfect for a fishing trip. The food downstairs at cabin fever was amazing and delicious. I would recommend to all my family & friends. I will be going back.
- Debra (10/5): - Quiet, lakefront property. Simple clean room, great cafe. We love to get away from cell service and tv. We loved it.
- Melissa (2/5): Worst Hotel Experience...Ever! - This was the worst experience I've ever had at any hotel. The bar, downstairs, was in full swing until after 3am, with music and fighting going on. The next day, all power and water was out, with no place to even go to the bathroom, and no idea when those utilities would be back working again. Manager said we would get refund for second night. Instead they charged me for two full nights. No one will answer their phone...stay far away from this hotel!
- Robert (8/5): - Working hard to give good experience. Room needs soft chairs
- Miles (8/5): - Great fishing!
- F5777TMscottb (10/5): Great fishing trip - Stayed here for a fishing trip. Big, Clean rooms. Owner very good about getting us checked in and was responsive to our needs. Had a great day fishing. Will definitely come back. Hated to leave
Highly recommended.
- Patricia (2/5): - No cable or satellite for TV, no radio or clock,no chairs for the table, no cell service, no microwave, no ice machine, no refrigerator, no coffee maker, no iron, basically a bed and bathroom. Over priced
- Laureen (4/5): - Not worth the money. Beds were foam mattress in a box. Horrible nights sleep. Both of us were so sore in the morning. No cable tv. Only DVD.
- Jay (2/5): - Next to a frozen lake. No food.
- Al (10/5): - We arrived pre-season. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. They were accomidating above and beyond any expectations. CLEAN, COMFORTABLE large modern room. Can't wait to go back.
