RMRmanagement (10/5): Lilliful pleasure of a stay - Stayed 3 nights and used this location for our home base as we visited Etna, Taormina, Matacamasta and Zafarena. The property is part of a family heritage and was their summer home. It was the family plantation/farm for Lemons, oranges, and other agricultural wonders. The two sisters that operate the AgriTourismo are wonderful. The property pet a small beagle cross named Lilly was a great host and made sure to provide us with cuddles and tail wagging welcomes as we came and went on a daily basis. The breakfasts and dinner are excellent.

Greg (10/5): - They are really making an effort to cater to folks wanting a quiet space to relax and enjoy the region. It is a working farm, but the fresh food in the morning is a joy. They also do a set dinner if there are enough guests and it some good honest cooking from the staff and the menu varies daily. Friday and Saturday can be an issue as there is a banquet venue on a neighboring property that can get rather loud, the party house behind the small suites at least try to give warning and control their behaviour. But it's an ideal spot to centre your travels around Catania and the east coast and allows you to relax and destress after a hard day exploring the region.

Abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo gli spazi esterni con una bella piscina per un momento di relax e la colazione tutta con prodotti km0. I proprietari veramente molto gentili. Unica pecca la casa non è insonorizzata bene e la doccia un po’ spartana ma compensava tutto il resto!

Gabriella (9/5): Midden tussen de citroenbomen een heerlijk verblijf met groot zwembad. - Super aardig ontvangst, grote schone kamer met heerlijke bedden. Voor de kamer een zitje met uitzicht op de Etna en de zee aan de andere zijde. Midden in de citroenboomgaard. Een heerlijk zwembad met ligbedden. Gebruik gemaakt van het 4 gangen diner in de avond, gemaakt door de eigenaresse, wat aan te bevelen is. De sfeer is ontspannen en rustig. Het ontbijt is goed verzorgd, voldoende keus met o.a. zelfgemaakte taart en cake en vers gemaakte koffie. De dochter spreekt goed Engels, zij helpt met vragen over activiteiten in de omgeving en ondersteunt het oudere echtpaar. Supermarkten en lokale winkels in de omgeving. Leuke dorpjes in de omgeving om te bezoeken en de natuurlijk de Etna. Het hondje is lief en verwelkomt ook enthousiast de nieuwe gasten. Wifi alleen op de kamer, dit was geen probleem maar goed om te weten.

We absolutely loved our stay at Agriturismo San Leonardello. I believe we had the largest unit, with two bedrooms and a living area and kitchen. We would walk outside our unit each morning and see the Ionian Sea in the distance and Mount Etna in the other direction, with a beautiful lawn and the swimming pool just beyond a lovely patio furnished with several sitting areas, before going down to a delicious breakfast in a very cool breakfast room complete with an antique wine press. Our hostesses, Saria and Vera, were so friendly and gracious, and we just loved our little friend Lilly, a darling little terrier who greeted us each time we were out and about. The property is actually a lemon orchard, also growing oranges, cumquats and walnuts. Taormina is about 40 minutes away, and you can also go to the beach at Giardini Naxos at the foot of the city. Siracusa is about an hour away in the other direction, with ruins and the bonus of the little city of Ortigia right there. You can hike up Mount Etna, or enjoy strolling around Acireale or go to the market in Catania. I have been describing our stay to my friends since I've been home as "magical", and I truly think that's the best way to describe a stay at Agriturismo San Leonardello.

Lela (10/5): - Beautiful farm with a gorgeous view of Etna and the sea. Surrounded by citrus trees and access to a sparkling swimming pool. We were early in the season and the only guests and Vera and her family looked after us beautifully. We were greeted by their sweet, friendly dog, Lilli who is expecting puppies (!!!) and was the highlight of our visit. She is possibly the nicest dog I’ve ever met. Our room was beautiful, traditional and super clean. We had dinner there one night and it was delicious and they catered for my gluten free needs. I would say though, the village is not walkable in that you need a car as it’s not pedestrian friendly once you leave the farm and it felt difficult to find anywhere to have dinner. But the farm itself was fantastic, relaxing and beautiful. Everyone there was friendly, welcoming and warm. Really recommend.

Caroline (9/5): Superb - Beautiful surroundings. Unspoilt. Friendly, helpful staff.. Lovely food. It would have been helpful to understand access better if you didn't have a car. I know this is unusual as most people bring one. The main entrance on foot is up a dangerous road, there is a back access but it would be good to know about that in advance. A minor issue though.

Travis Lynn (10/5): - We chose the Agriturismo San Leonardello based on it's close proximity to so many of the great sites and towns of Sicily. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the location, the privacy, the views, the room and most of all the hospitality of the staff. Saria communicated with us leading up to our arrival to ensure almost our questions were answered, and we knew what to expect. Upon arrival, we learned the family who runs the Agriturismo also offers amazing, home cooked dinners for guests each evening. The food was amazing, from the handmade pasta and sauces to the Limencello produced from lemons grown on the property. We enjoyed the pool, as well as the magnificent views of the sea and Mt. Etna from our room. What truly made the stay special was Lily, the resident dog, who took her job of greeting everyone very seriously. She was a wonderful companion and made everyone feel welcome and special. We highly recommend the Agriturismo San Leonardello for anyone looking for privacy, a quiet stay, great food, amazing Limencello, warm and friendly staff, and close access to sights of Sicily.
Michael (8/5): - Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the property nice. The room and bathroom/shower was small, beds firm and we had to unplug the lamps in order to plug in our devices. The standard rooms are not very private with other guests having to walk right infront of your only window. We also had the WiFi go out almost every day for many hours. The grounds and pool area also seemed a bit neglected and in need of some maintenance. But the rooms were clean and in good condition. The little dog was the best part (unless your not a dog person). She was so sweet and happy to see us, hanging out with us when we were there!
Tanya (4/5): - Beautiful location, friendly helpful staff BUT nmdo not make the mistake we did and book this thinking it will be a peaceful farm type stay. When we stayed music was blaring all night. It didnt stop till around 4am and it was seriosly loud base, thumping through the place all night long from underneath us where some kind of organised event must have been happening. It completely ruined our first night in Sicily and the start of our holiday because we had to drive on to our next location completely shattered. The accommodation itself is rustic style and beautiful but needs some TLC as furniture was falling apart. The pool was lovely and the breakfast was good. Just don't book looking for a peaceful relaxing stay. Ours was ao far from it we were totally shocked.

Unfortunately, there were also issues with hot water, forcing me to shower in cold water. Most disappointingly, the pool, a major reason for choosing this place, was unusable due to dirt and cold water. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations.

David (10/5): - The rooms themselves were spacious, bright, cheerful, quaint, with effective AC and lots of outdoor areas adjacent that were semi-private. The breakfast and dinner areas were al fresco, with views of Mount Etna, and tables were arranged in such a way that connecting with others was easy but not necessary. Breakfast options were more than adequate (included in the room price) and dinners were good to excellent 4 course affairs (optional and reasonably priced) with wine included (red only!) This is a family run citrus farm and hostelry. The family were friendly and we would certainly stay here again if we visit this part of Sicily. Can't think of anything negative.

Perfekt för barnfamiljer, mycket plats då det är få rum i förhållande till ytor. Fin pool med stor fin gräsmatta framför. Fantastisk utsikt och lätt att nå hela östra ön med hyrbil härifrån. Extra plus för den familjära stämningen och gårdshunden Lilly.

The property is located between Mount Etna and the sea so we had lovely views. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The owners are on hand to help with any questions or info about the area. We got engaged while we were there and they went above and beyond to make it really special with a wonderful evening meal. We would highly recommend this place!

Wir hatten ein Classic-Doppelzimmer mit Terrasse und Gartenblick (Sea and Etna view) gebucht. Die Expedia Angabe von 25 m² stimmt nicht, es waren ca. 16 m². Die tollen Fotos bei Expedia sind als Werbung zu betrachten, Obstkörbe oder Zitronengetränke gab es nicht (mehr). Die Eigentümerfamilie und das Personal sind sehr freundlich. Sehr schöne Lage in einem Zitronenhain. Eine Oase in einer wilden Gegend mit vermüllten Orten.

Susanna (9/5): We loved it and we would like to go back. - Beautiful site and view, it was useful to have a small fridge in the room and drinking water. There is a very affectionate, very well trained & well behaved dog: Lilli, who is always ready to welcome you as you get back to you room. You do need a car to get around. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, delicious home made cakes, jam and fresh nuts for breakfast in such a lovely setting. Meals were delicious and top of the range but could they improve moving away from the use of white flour and switching to wholemeal flour and much increasing the amount of vegetables and legumes served to make the meals healthier. The water in the bathroom was sometimes cold.

Wielluan (4/5): Probably used to be good - Unfortunately our stay was not what we expected. The whole location probably used to be really nice, but nowadays faded glory in our opinion. The owners/staff are rarely around, only the housekeeping person (Antonella we thought) is seen regularly, since she is there for housekeeping, cleaning the property, serving breakfast, serving dinner... The swimming pool is salt water but still nice though. The dinner that can be booked is extremely overpriced. It was 45€pp and a basic antipasta, starter, pasta and desert. Wine is really cheap wine, at least that's how it tasted. Really sour... The rooms are really outdated, if you have just a room and no small appartment, then expect there are no glasses, no water... nothing. Wifi is really bad to zero all over the property. At the pool, in the room, everywhere. The breakfast is ok, but don't expect much. There is cake, but untill the one that is presented isn't finished, there won't be any new one. Even after a couple of days. Fresh marmalade of cumquat, manadarine, orange... but marmalade is quite difficult to eat for children as it has a really strong taste. There are some yoghurts but if you are late, probably only the plain ones and not the ones with fruit. Fresh fruit can be asked though. Next to that, some slices of bread and some piccolinis, together with some ham (cotto or crudo) and cheese. The location is great, close to the center of a small village, views on the Etna, and a lot of fruit trees... The star of the property must be Lily, the short legged jack russel and is just too cute... all day long cuddling and playing with the kids. For us, unfortunately it was way overprices, the accommodation, the food, the service... and we don't think we would come back.

Big property with all outside accommodation you need (private terrasse, pool, kids playground, big garden) Background view on Etna from the main terrasse. Very nice family who prepares homemade pastries for breakfast and typical Sicilian dinner (upon request). Homemade jam, fruits from the garden…. Very friendly hosts and reactive on what’s app. They even took care of our dog the day we went to Etna. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. Bathroom was ok. By car, there are a few very nice restaurants that you can try and Etna wine tastings. All in all a very nice stay with a feeling of being at home.

Nicholas22 (10/5): A relaxing paradise - Spent a week at the Agriturismo San Leonardello, a great place to find and a very hard one to leave. Surrounded by the several acres of lemon, orange, cumquat mandarine trees in this citrus farm with wonderful panoramic views of Etna on one side and the sea in the other. Set on a height above the busy workaday village of San Leonardello. Rooms and apartments in old and lovingly converted farm buildings are perfectly equipped and comfortable. Breakfasts served in (or outside) the old wine press hall are perfect. The dinners are outstanding, a 5 course set menu of Sicilian cuisine different every day. Many other great restaurants nearby. Situated midway between Giarre and Acireale (15 minutes drive each), the first definately worth giving some time today, but more importantly the starting point of one end of the CircumEtnea narrow gauge railway (don't miss!): Acireale worth spending days in! San Leonardello perfectly located for ascending / touring Mount Etna or for nearby beaches..Having a car is definitely worthwhile to be able to fully explore, but not indispensable - it's a 15 minute walk to Carruba Station on the Taormina Catania line or there's a regular bus service between Giarre and Acireale, stopping in the local village San Leonardello ( itself a nice 5 minute walk on an old stepped path from the back gate, good gelataria in town..). The Agriturismo is family friendly, great for kids, ours are grown up - it's equally great without kids! The most memorable thing here is the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere due partly to everything already described - but due mainly to the wonderful warm hospitality provided by the lovely owners and staff. trip1st (10/5): Excellent! - This agriturismo has it all.. as former wine farm on the south side of the etna it has a nice main building where the original huge grape press and cellar still can be admired. It now functions as breakfast room. Outside is a court, and a terrace with great view on the mountains and the sea. Well decorated rooms are scattered in small buildings over the terrain, on which now lemons, konquats and fragelo's are grown. In may the lemons are harvested for the home made limoncello.

GiaGForte (10/5): Super nice! - What a delightful experience. A lovely place, surrounded by hundreds of lemon trees. We enjoyed the warmth of the Calabretta’s family who made our stay fantastic! We loved everything from their homemade breakfast, their home made jams (the kumquat jam was super � they have a lab for their production in fact we took some home) and they even serve real pecans from their trees!!! We enjoyed sipping fresh squeezed lemonade by the pool and Rita’s fabulous dinners with typical Sicilian food. Close by to the seaside famous destinations and to Etna. Super children friendly... whatelse? They even have an apartment I wish we could just move there permanently. Thank you can’t wait to be back �
DonkeyMonkeys (10/5): Really nice farm stay b&b with great views on Mount Etna, the sea and Taormina - We stayed here 6 nights and were able to relax completely. The location is quiet and really nice. The rooms are located between lemon and orange trees at the base of the Etna. The rooms are pretty lovely decorated with antique traditional wooden furniture. Everything is clean and nice. The family is very kind and provides a lot of recommodations for activities, sightseeing and restaurants. From here everything is easy accessible: Catania, Taormina, the sea, the Etna. The motorway is nearby but cannot be heard. The breakfast is delicious and comes in many varieties. Also the dinner can be recommended with traditional Sicilian food. We would come back.
LMeilak (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing holiday - Stayed for 5 days with my family (which includes young kids) in this lovely estate. Very happy with choice because: - location is great for travelling (highway is relatively close by - but area is still quiet; there are some good restaurants in its proximity) - family-run atmosphere is very hospitable - family is very friendly and kind, and always ready to provide good sightseeing advice - pool and nearby green area provided the ideal play-area for the kids - in addition, there are other child-friendly amenities throughout the estate - Etna view in the morning during breakfast is something to write home about! Keep it up!
E3979HGjohng (10/5): Extraordinary hospitality. - Beautiful and serene place, excellent facilities and food and above all else extraordinary hospitality. Located between Acireale and Toarmina, the place is also perfectly located as a base from which to explore this beautiful area of Sicily by car, not least the Etna area, Alcantara etc. The place besides the pool also has a small playing field which my young daughter appreciated immensely. Highly recommended. I shall definitely re-visit if I am in Sicily again.
