- nancybN7044UK (6/5): Just average experience - Clerk at the check in rather rude. Sheets don’t smell fresh but moldy. Maybe you should use bleach to wash them? We waited 1h for dinner. When it finally arrived the meat was uncooked. Chewy and raw inside beef bits, undercooked meatballs. We returned the beef bits. Rather disappointing experience for the price.

The view is amazing from the lobby and the room. I recommend breakfast/dinner at the Notch Grille as the food and service is excellent. It is the perfect place to go for a much needed relaxing weekend.

Washington, so we had front row seats from the hotel!!! Gorgeous views and lovely staff and restaurant. Close to so many things! Can’t wait to go back in the fall!!! I had hoped for a continental breakfast, but was so excited for the location of the hotel, I didn’t even pay attention to all amenities…. I had also hoped for a hot tub. The pool area was nice, but would have been better with something hot to soak in for old bones! 😅

- V8013HKannas (10/5): Great Stay in the Whites!! - This stay at the Glen House was exceptional. I traveled with two dogs and the package for dogs was the best I have ever received! The room was comfortable and the view was beautiful. We only had time to stay one night, but we will return for any adventures we may have in the Whites. The only thing that we’d recommend for improvement is the coffee. It was a little off, but we are also acknowledging that we are fussy. This place is amazing and the staff was fantastic and friendly.

Nothing super-fancy but everything executed so well. Very dog-friendly and accommodating, great staff, much better food than expected (particularly breakfast), excellent beds, spotless and well-kept. Aside frm that, the food was good, the music was good, and all staff was friendly and helpful. Only about 4 minutes from Wildcat, and a beautiful firepit outside that warms you up! Dog friendly to boot!

We traveled with our dog Fred who was pampered, our room was completely clean (most dog friendly rooms elsewhere are not so much) comfortable, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We all slept great, it was quiet, the food was delicious, and we ended up extending our stay we were having such a good time. Being able to use the trails, spend time by the fire pit, and snuggle up in our room with our pup meant the world to us. We all had the best trip and can’t wait to come back!

Also, in the lounge, while enjoying our cocktails, there was a musician named Carlos who was very entertaining! Fun little doggie goodie bag in the room. Only thing missing was Hot tub in the pool area. $50.00 charge for expendables. You do get it back if no purchases are made. No microwave in the room.

- Nomad569829 (8/5): Overall a nice stay. - We booked the Glen House on a non-refundable cyber Tuesday travel deal. Overall our stay was nice, but the weather was freezing (below 0) and very windy which made it much too cold to go cross country skiing or any other outdoor activities. There really isn't much else to do in the area as most stores and restaurants within driving distance were closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. I would not recommend a mid-week stay unless the weather is good for outdoor activities. The food in the tavern was good, but limited choices. The room was basic, but was clean and comfortable with a beautiful mountain view.

- Alison (5/5): Lacking atmosphere. - The views are beautiful and it is a good base from which to go hiking/walking. I was disappointed that the Glen House did not live up to the images I had seen. The main bar/lounge area really lacked atmosphere and the lighting was poor. The dining room was a very dull and uninviting space and sadly the weather had turned and it wasn’t warm enough to eat outside. Images we had seen saw guests sitting round a firepit but when we enquired when it might be lit we were informed that it was broken! The mountain view in the bedroom was not to be seen as the shrubs had been allowed to grow up and obscure the view (photo below). They really need cutting back as the room is a dimly lit space with a very small window foe the size of room. There was room for two armchairs but only one was provided. Please note the room did not have a safe; that’s a first in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Some of the staff worked very hard at the hotel and seemed to be taking the burden for others who were lacking.

These rooms are pricey compared to the ones with views of the parking lot. The check-in/checkout was easy. The dinner at Notch Grill was delicious, we had to wait a bit for our to arrive and the waiter was friendly. There were a lot of families with small children who contributed to the atmosphere to be noisier than normal. If you don’t mind kids, this hotel is worth visiting.

- brunamZ8524WS (4/5): Unacceptable Treatment During Our Stay at The Gleen House - We stayed at The Gleen House this past weekend (Oct 17–19) — our first time there, and we brought our dog. We chose it because it’s advertised as pet-friendly and even paid a $40 daily pet fee. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. The front desk attendant was rude from the moment we arrived, and later that night she called us during dinner, threatening to call the police because our dog barked while we were away for 15 minutes. Completely unacceptable behavior — especially from a hotel that claims to welcome pets. We had to leave our dinner and stay in the room for the rest of the night. Such a shame… it totally ruined our weekend. Definitely not pet-friendly as advertised.
- Q4332JSjonathanl (10/5): An amazing hotel in a beautiful place. - From the staff to the rooms this hotel is every bit as luxurious and amenable as the Omni just ten miles away, for a fraction of the price. I cannot speak highly enough about the Glen House, and will most certainly stay here again.
- Boudreau (1/5): - Everything except location. It reads on booking.com that this property is 6 miles from Mt Washington cog rail but that is totally misleading. It’s 6 miles if you can go through the mountain!!!! It’s 44 miles away!!! Very disappointing!!!!

- Christophe (6/5): - Facility is nice, but the check-in staff was rather aggressive at check-in; they had to know where I’m coming from and my zip code, not for verification purposes but for their own demographics. They were collecting information here and there because “Expedia does not give us any information” says the front desk staff. …In this day and age, I should be able to opt out of this kind of privacy-invading nonsense. Also, be aware that Expedia apparently does NOT include the $22/night resort fee the hotel charges.
- gnordt (10/5): Highly recommended, within reasonable driving distance of our sightseeing targets - We stayed here for three nights for a fall foliage trip and were very happy with our room and our stay. We had a balcony room facing Mount Washington, and spent early mornings and early evenings on our balcony soaking in the view of autumn colors. The food was good, the staff helpful. The only blemish was the fire pit not working our entire stay. We were about a forty minute drive from the Kancamagus Byway and most of the places we wanted to see like Flume Gorge, the Sabbaday Falls, Cog Railway, etc. We would certainly stay there again.

- carolynmV971RZ (8/5): Wonderful hotel with a view/ poor eats - My husband and I stayed at the hotel for our anniversary. We were upgraded when we got there to a view of the mountain, the views were gorgeous. The leaf changing was in its peak so it was a peaceful and enjoyable view! The bed was comfortable. The restaurant at the hotel did not have great food. We ate dinner the first night there and breakfast the next morning. The online menu was not updated so menus did not match, and at breakfast when I asked for modifications to my omelette they overcharged me for it. Not worth the price, plenty of other restaurants in the area.

- Millard (8/5): - Gorgeous mountain view with a rainbow the first morning! Wonderful hiking trails right behind property. Only con was the fact that for 3 days there was a CONSISTENT STONG ODOR of POT on the total part of the 3rd floor hallway. NOT good for a family friendly non-smoking hotel for which pot is illegal in NH!

- maddie59 (10/5): Excellent Stay in Gorham - We stayed here one night after riding the Cog Train on Mount Washington. The hotel was very nice. I highly recommend a room with a balcony and a view of the mountains. We enjoyed our afternoon on the deck have a nice glass of wine. This hotel is on the other side of the mountain from Cog Train so it was about 30 minutes back to the hotel. We ate dinner at the Notch. They had some nice outdoor tables. I had the scallops, and my wife had their chicken. Both dishes were excellent. We also ate breakfast the next morning and it was excellent as well. The staff was very attentive and the room was very nice.

- cathyjR5910HF (10/5): Kudos to Mariah and Katie at The Glen House Hotel ! - Now I want to give special recognition to Mariah and Katie. Mariah and Katie are a dynamic duo as well as individually! When we inquired with Katie about The Red Fox Bar & Grille that was in the red binder in our room, she told us about the amazing Pot Roast that they had. I said to my husband how can pot roast be amazing? Well, he had it one of the nights near the end of our stay, and he loved it. That is because they use short ribs as it was amazingly tender. I too would have enjoyed it, but I chose steak and lobster. Did not disappoint. Mariah was the one who booked our reservation, helped us with directions to the Cog Rail and came to my rescue after 4 attempts to get my final, paid receipt emailed to me. When I booked the reservation, her system went down. She remained calm and then said we're good and continued with the reservation. To my surprise, when her system went down or just had a hiccup, my initial reservation was cancelled. So, after I received my email reservation confirmation about an hour later, I received a cancellation notice. I freaked out and called her. She was calm and said all is good! No need to worry. Hence our stay was amazing! I asked Mariah if there were easy directions to go to the Cog Rail. She looked on her computer, printed out a paper for us and my husband and I ventured the next day. Needless to say, it was a little difficult trying to understand the map and hence we wound up on some road, I believe it was something like Valley Road which started out as a paved road, lead to a very narrow gravel road.....hence thinking we were lost, we asked the Ranger lady sitting in her truck "are we going the right way".....she laughed, asked where we were going and said the Cog Rail and she said yes! Though it was off the beaten path or normal roadway, it was an unbelievable trek through the woods, an unforgettable fun experience. So yes, another adventure in the books! Though we didn't come back that way! On Friday the 19th, I tried to get an email copy of my receipt when we checked out. I was told she would email it to me, and I never received it, then I called again at 8 PM and can't remember who I spoke with, but she sent another email out to me. She said I would have it in 10 minutes and come Sunday morning - nothing yet. So, I called again and I believe I spoke with a gentleman. He said he was sending me two copies, and I should have it in 15 minutes. Hmmm.....nothing arrived. My husband joked and said by the time we get to Jersey I'll have 4 copies. I had none! So, I called the hotel today once we got home and spoke with Mariah. I explained the situation, the frustration of how I was asked: did you check your spam folder, let's verify your email address, but to no avail a copy of my receipt. Mariah said I'm going to try to send it to you and while I was still on the phone with her, it arrived in my email box. So, thank you Mariah again for going outside the "box" to get me the receipt! So, kudos to Mariah and Katie as they are tremendous attributes to your hotel!!!

Great views - My wife and I chose The Glen house as our place to stay since we were booked for a guided tour up Mt Washington and did not want to have to drive to another location for a place to stay, we couldn’t be any happier. Once checked in with no problems we were able to enjoy an appetizer and drink on the back deck and admire the beautiful views of the presidential range. Moved into the dining area for a delicious dinner with the same view. Would definitely recommend any one looking for a place to stay in this area to check out The Glen House
- 936stewartb (10/5): 37th Wedding Anniversary trip - We were visiting to celebrate our 37 wedding anniversary. I worked with Rita( I think that was her name) at the front deck to make sure flowers and strawberries arrived on time and were a surprise. She made that happen. She was very engaging and always had a warm smile to say have a great day on the way out and a welcome back smile when we returned. Our server in the restaurant was Colleen. She also was outstanding. She was very engaging, knowledgeable, and funny. She made every breakfast enjoyable. At the bar, Brittney took great care of us( even got the Shipyard Pumpkin Head flowing on tap. She too was pleasant, attentive and engaging. Lastly, Neal at the bar was like an old friend, We hadn't seen him in a few years but he remembered me and we shared some family updates. Lastly, each member of the house keeping staff always stopped what they were doing to smile and say hello. You should be extremely proud of this outstanding staff. It is one of the reasons we return Keep up the good work.

- Eran (10/5): Great place with a good restaurant and views - Very welcoming team. The restaurant was great especially for dinner. Great location if you plan to visit Mt. Washington. The room was very cozy and clean. The seating area outside with the fire heat and the view was amazing . The history of this place is very interesting. Check in only at 4 pm
