Guest Reviews
- Alvin (2/5): - The Room Was Small the personn that works the place attitude is awful showers do not work properly at all not kept up to par at all do not go to this place
- Christopher (2/5): Swan inn - Absolutely shocking .
- Verified traveler (2/5): To be avoided - It was terrible. This “bed & breakfast” was booked and prepaid around 9h30 pm and reached a little past 10 pm. Only to discover that place was locked up, Pitch dark and unmanned. A doorbell did not work or gave no reply. Hotels.com did only respond by AI - completely useless. Local bypassers claimed that the place was run by criminals and a complete scam. Should be deleted from website asap. No suppiråø
- Hayley (2/5): - Could not stay had to find another hotel in town .Appauling even staff laughed and asked why we were there .Room disgusting not at all as described .A scam so they keep your money and u go elsewhere.Out of date snacks
- anthony (2/5): - Was planning to stay two nights, but stayed one because it was so terrible.
- Carley (2/5): NO NO NO NO NOT, EVER! - Please do NOT ever consider sleeping at this place. It is complelety unsanitary, this meaning dirty stained sheets, pillows and duvet covering a body fluid, infested, filth ridden mattress underneath. Shared bathroom for 11 separate rooms on the upstairs of a Public House, The Swan. We walked in and was instantly made very welcomed by the handful of locals. We check the room and realised instantly that being paid a million pounds wouldnt be enough to stay here!! The locals downstairs however are the most kindest, caring, funny people I have ever met. A local couple, in the pub allowed us to stay at their house with them for our 2 day stay and we will be friend's for life.
DO NOT BOOK TO STAY HERE, CALL IN FOR A BEER BUT DONT EVER CHECK IN.
- Laurence (2/5): Don’t stay here - The room did not even have a wash basin which was outside in a communal area which also provided access to the separate toilet and shower. The electric fan heater in the room didn’t work so it was cold. They didn’t serve breakfast so I had to find somewhere else.
- Chad (2/5): If you are desperate... - Only redeeming quality of the property was the proximity to the airport, and the lovely village. Damage to the ceiling above one bed, looked like it could fall through any time. Stains on the bedsheets, and on wall. Shared bathroom did not have a working sink in the toilet, had to use the sink out in the communal area (tap was loose). Inside room, the windowsill had damage and peeling paint. Electrical socket was broken and a safety hazard. Door lock system looked nice and modern, but wouldn't stand up to more than a heavy push. Even for a budget stay, this was worse than expected. Couldn't stay, and left to find another property last minute. Would appreciate a refund, probably left it cleaner than when we arrived, as we wiped down the handles...
- Caroline (2/5): - Horrible
It’s not a hotel it’s a brotel it’s so disgusting.
- Kenny (2/5): - We booked one of our staff for 19 nights, on the first night he was shocked at the condition of the property. The walls were dirty and the door was covered in greasy hand marks. We requested he was moved to another room and the manager confirmed that the room was not that bad. In essence the room was disgusting and he left. The hotel has refused to refund the remaining 18 days and we are currently in discussions to get a full refund. Expedia has been useless in responding to our requests although we sent photos showing the condition of the room.
I would not recommend Expedia to anyone and have contacted a solicitor who will now proceed to recoup our money.
This hotel is still on the website and I wouldn’t put my dog in there.
- Rachel (2/5): - Bedding was dirty . Room was dirty .
- Kate (2/5): - My review is like so many others. The room was dirty with a cracked and stained ceiling above one bed. The bedding was dirty, with mould stains on one pillowcase. The bathroom was disgusting, with dirt and mould in the shower, a loose toilet seat and a broken tap with no handle. The carpets in the hallway were covered in dirt. In the “garden” the ash trays were full. There was nothing clean.
We arrived at around 9 to find our booking had not been received (again mirroring the experience of others), and the professional host (as described in the Expedia entry) was not in a fit state to welcome guests.
Very worryingly, in this family room there was a damaged plug directly over the double bed; this was lose and hanging off the wall with a missing chunk of plastic leaving a hole just right for small fingers to find their way into.
Some reviews suggest this hotel is “ok for the price”. I do not agree. Basic I accept; unclean and unsafe I do not. We were booked in for two nights and left after one. Would had left sooner had there been somewhere else to go.
I am disappointed that a place with so many issues is listed with no apparent vetting.
- Sajid (2/5): - I did not get to stay I could get in I had to book another hotel I want a refund
- waqar (2/5): - Issue with booking which was not the hotels fault . I was led to my room and the worker apologied as soon as he opened the door to show me in. The room was filthy, beer bottles and rubbish were everywhere. Bed was filthy and stains. I’ve seen prison rooms in better state. The photos are outdated and the room is at the standard of a hostel at best.
- Maria (2/5): - Don’t use the airport as attraction to advertise because it is not close to airport at all.
- Douglas (2/5): - I got to this venue and there was no one to welcome me .
By chance one tenant let me in. The room was the worst room ever
I rung the recommended mobile 9 times and no one ever answered it
- Andrew (4/5): You get what you pay for - The staff were pleasant. The room adequate. It was just two single beds and a chest of drawers, which were broken! There was a tv, but we never tried it.
There is a shared bathroom area for all rooms. The toilet room was okay but the basin didn't work and there was no toilet paper.
The shower room was disgusting. There was a toilet with a broken seat and still no toilet paper.
The shower was so dirty, ran slowly and was cold. No thank you!
We just needed somewhere cheap for an overnight stay. I guess they are right when they say you get what you pay for.
It was a really cheap night £46 for a twin room. I got what I expected for the money.
I've tried to be as fair with my review but it was hard to justify scoring higher based on the state of the place.
- Joshua (2/5): - I felt itchy immediately staying here. My arms have broken out in rashes from shoulder to wrist. Will never stay here again
TV didn’t work and there was no water pressure from taps. 0 stars if I could
- ivan (6/5): - It was what I expected for the price
- Ian (2/5): - bedsheets were dirty pillows were dirty disgusting dirty floors had to pay again when I got there for some reason. Avoid at all cost
- Zak (2/5): Dont even bother - Awful. Girl behind the bar was nice but had to keep calling someone to find out what room i was in. Shared bathroom this was not advertised as such. I didnt even stay here i booked somewhere else.
- Linus (6/5): - Very wonderful and welcoming staff. Shared toilets/bathroom, hygiene below bar,
- Paula (6/5): - They were helpful in getting us a new room when our plans changed last minute and we showed up with an extra person.
- Marika (2/5): - I never leave bad reviews but sorry this place even for the price was very average. Room was tiny sheets were old and stained, walls are paper thin.
It did the job for the night but I wouldn’t stay there again.
- Gregory (2/5): Filthy, avoid - Filthy dirty. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
- Leonardo (2/5): - No water running front the sink no hot water at all
Very dirty everywhere in the room
- Georgina (2/5): Just dont!! - Ive stayed in many budget hotels and this one was the worst ever. It was disgustingly dirty and two of the three sinks in the shared bathroom area dont work. Shower was nasty and door looked opaque as they were so caked in limescale.
- Jamie (2/5): Dont use this place - Dirty and disgusting.
- Wade (2/5): - No access I want my money back had to go find another place to stay. They did not answer the door or the phone when called.
Never stay at this place.
- Brian (4/5): - Cheap for a reason, the bar, public area and kitchen non-existent. No tv , a dodgy kettle, two of the three sinks didn’t dispense water, shared toilet and shower were grubby.
Laundry was clean though.
- Amy (2/5): Do not stay here - Both rooms I stayed in had a vermin infestation. Do not stay in room 1 or 2. Refused to give a refund.
- michael (2/5): - Hotel was dirty and should be closedown.
- Ashok (4/5): - Not a hotel just night sleep over is fine. No Staff available after hours.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting. I wouldn’t stay here if you paid me. - DISGUSTING!
Last minute desperation booking 30mins before arrival. It is dirty. Rotten furniture. Terrible condition throughout. No towels. I honestly wouldn’t expect anyone to ever stay here. I wouldn’t stay here again, even if you paid me.
People seemed nice enough tho.
- Kazz (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - AWFUL! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
I was waiting outside in the cold for an hour as the main door was locked when I arrived and no one was there. I called the number on the door a few times but no one answered. Eventually a drunk/high person stumbled up to me with a key for my room. I was terrified but had no other option at this point. Room STANK of mold, looked less appealing than a prison cell, just the worst room I’ve ever seen in my life. The person in the room next to me was blasting music /talking loudly on the phone all night long. I didn’t sleep because I was too scared I would get mugged.
Could not have left any quicker in the morning.
- THOFAH (4/5): - Pros: friendly staff, near LHR
Mid: nearest bus is 10 min walk
Cons: Rooms need : cleaner towels, 1 extra pillow, clean bedding (all were worn), ideally a lamp and mirror. Heating never came on. No aircon.
The bathrooms are not clean, but they are communal. There are cleaning products out on the side but the immigrant/transit travellers who stay there have dubious hygiene. Toilet was left with bog roll in, floor v wet after bathing. Bring a fistful of disinfectant wipes, feet covers for shower and earplugs.
- John (2/5): Avoid like the plague !!!! - Worst place i have ever stayed. Room was dirty, bedding was dirty, shower was filthy, no hot water for shower no tea or ciffee no towels tv didnt work and that was just the furst room. Got moved to another room that was even worse. Was told the owner would send vat receipt, not received. Ive tried contacting many times to no avail. Absolutely will never use this place again. If only i could give less than 1 star.
- Kev1957 (2/5): No no no just don’t - Everyone out there
Do not even consider staying at this Hovel
We only stood in disbelief at the disgusting sight that the scruffy individual had just shown us to
There was no Toilet tissue /soap just a filthy load of porcelain
A Kettle with no cups that looked like someone had urinated in it
The bed divan crumbled when I touched it
We left immediately and still don’t feel clean after standing in this loom
We exited after telling scruff that there was no way we were staying at this Sh****ole
- Kevin (2/5): - We were shown to the room by a scruffy individual who disappeared PDQ
We stood in that room in disbelief
Quite uncomprehending what disgusting site we were in
There was nothing in the bathroom , no soap or toilet tissue just manky porcelain
The bed was on a broken divan and fell apart when I touched it
By this time my wife was freaking out and we exited at top speed
Only to stop and tell the scruff at the bar what a Sh***hole the place was
We managed to get a room at Premier
- OCHEGOISIME (4/5): - The property looked derelict. The room smelled. The shared toilet had no toilet seat cover. No hot water.
- Y6906YVjessea (2/5): SO UNSAFE ESPECIALLY FOR FEMALES - DONT BOOK!!!! STAFF UNLOCKED AND ENTERED MY ROOM AT 1AM WHILE I WAS SLEEPING!!!!!
I needed a place to crash for a couple of hours for my next flight and the last check in is at 10pm I arrived 9:30pm with everything locked and no lights on?! There was a sign that said late check in call GOBI and then his phone number. I called he came within 5 mins drunk and admitted to it! I told him about my really early check out and he said the earlier the better. He showed me to my room. The door to the rooms was wide open 24/7 to let anyone in and he even said it will stay open and that if it gets locked to just call him but that it’s rare that the door to the ROOMS will be closed. The rooms have pinpad locks and they are very loud when you lock and unlock them. He wanted me to say my PIN code OUTLOUD I was uncomfortable and said no I’ll punch it in myself. I entered the room that smelled of cigarettes and looked disgusting but like I said I needed it for a couple of hours. I asked for the password to wifi he told me to give him my phone in which he yet implied that he was too drunk to punch it in correctly, took him two tries. I put my things down and it took him a while to get the hint to get out and leave me alone. (While also inviting me to have drinks with him and his friend downstairs) I said no. I go to sleep right away around 10:30pm after calling my sister goodnight. I wake up SCARED AT 1AM to a man standing in front of my door wide open!!!! I screamed at him what the h*** are you doing ?!?!? He turned on the lights and turned them back off said he was checking rooms and said sorry closed my door and proceeded to OPEN EVERY OTHER DOOR ON MY FLOOR. like I said the pad locks are very loud I could hear every padlock and door being opened and no one else is to be heard which is so alarming to assume I was the only one on that floor. My hearts racing I called an Uber to head back to the airport while messaging him to please wait for me, felt safer ANYWHERE than in that hotel! As I’m walking out I see Gobi in the smoking area I confronted him and he acted like nothing happened and that I was crazy with literally tears down my face from how traumatized I am. I reported it to the police and called Agoda for a refund and report. They said we have to wait to hear back from the hotel. Just got the email after I wrote them a very detailed email to Oyo swan and I’ll attach what they wrote to me. THEY DONT CARE!! MY LIFE COULD OF AND FELT WAS ON THE LINE WHATEVER THE INTENTIONS WERE. I am forever traumatized being a female solo traveler.
ALSO THEY HAVE CAMERAS AND ONE OF THEM WAS POINTED TO MY ROOM SO FOR THEM TO SAY THERE WAS NO ISSUE SHOWS EITHER THE CAMERAS DONT WORK AND ITS THE STAFFS WORD OVER THE GUESTS THAT PAY FOR A SAFE STAY OR THEY TRULY JUST DONT CARE FOR ONE MORE BAD REVIEW!!!! I was desperate to book an affordable one night sleep and now I will never let money be the toll of my safety!!!!!
- Annie (2/5): - It was a last minute booking paid for at the time of booking on the Expedia App- we had just got off a long haul flight! We arrived at the “hotel”,
No one answered the phone no one answered the door. There were no lights on.
We were stranded with no transport in the dark with no other option than to get an Uber costing a further £60 to find an alternative accommodation To say I am disappointed understatement
- Amadeu (2/5): - Just the worse hotel I ever been.
Room without any amenities, such as kettle and a broken window which didn't open neither close, but turned the room cold and windy...
- Lizbeth (4/5): - I have never been to a place like this nor do I ever wish again the place was dirty the room had and old cup who knows how long it was there the bedsheets had orange stains you have to share bathroom and shower with other guests they had the dirtiest towel in there would not recommend going! When trying to checkout no one was there called like 3 different numbers no one answered had to email them
- Jan (2/5): Nobody on site at arrival - When we arrived at the hotel everything was closed down and we dit not manage to get access to the premises. Repeated phone calls to the establishment was not answered to. Another guest tried to help us getting in contact with the proprietor, but to no avail and we had to find other accomodation nearby. According to the proprietor of this other accomodation ours was not an unusual experience.
- Jagmohan (8/5): - Good little short stay, not much choice for take aways., only fish N chips or Chinese nearby. Stay was fine comfortable.
- R741ZHadamm (2/5): Vile place - Absolutely hell hole. Very smelly pub, untidy, not alot of water pressure in the rooms, rooms run down. Tele don’t work, bed is old tatty and very nasty. The shared toilets etc are a health hazard.
Would avoid at all costs unless the smelly guy that’s running it gets a few quos behind him and modernises the place, cleans it up and takes pride in the establishment.
The place needs closed down as a b&b/hotel/guess house.
Sorry for the bad review but there’s no need for the state of the place.
- lizaw849 (2/5): Worst nightmare - This is the room on the top floor outhouse with a steep metal ladder type steps! No light outside to help you see!
I want the council to come inspect the room. The remote control ceased up badly! Sink flooded with water and not draining! No light in the bath! No towel to shower nor soap! Trading standards got to look into this! No outside light to get on to the dangerous steep metal steps at night! This is UK and this fails health and safety! No towel no soap no amenities, worn out super flat smelly pillows, no human being to call nor see and the boss on WhatsApp was rude and only replied the next morning not apologising but blaming paying customers! No reception, no emergency no to call! Sky window with latch broken!
How on earth anyone makes money selling a room unfit and unsafe for human use!
- Jolanta (2/5): Don’t even think to book a room - Honestly not a hotel or even a hostel , the room repainted with hate a lot of smoke on the walls sheets were stained no bin or kettle not talking about cups. No space to add your clothes or let’s say not even toilet paper. The tv was for show only. No hot water in the room shower only on the shared bathroom floor. As a necessity for homeless people is ok but not for travel. If you need a towel better ask, otherwise you don’t get
- Mike (2/5): - Room had been double booked. Utterly filthy. Needs closing down
- 813calumd (2/5): Worst b and b EVER - Disgusting! Disgusted! Worst place I’ve ever stayed. Wouldn’t even squat in this place. Can’t wait to get my refund. Absolutely disgusting.
No WiFi
No breakfast
Dirty sheets
Ridiculously loud area
Disgusting shower
No towels
No tea/coffee
- Darren (2/5): - I didn’t like anything about the property it absolutely disgusting in every way it smelt dirty and was filthy everywhere was the worst place I’ve ever booked and obviously didn’t stay there . I spoke with the owner about getting my money back and had no help whatsoever as I booked theough a third party , this hovel needs to be totally renovated or demolished , I will be chasing to recoup my funds that I spent here as had no help from the owners and the management this place was a complete health hazard , there was a flood and the laminate floors were sodden and could hardly open the door , STEER VERY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE …..
- Leah (2/5): - This is the worst hotel ever known. The beds are filthy with stains all over the frames and mattress. The rooms we originally booked were given to other people so we were given another room in the loft with holes on the wall and tape and spider webs everywhere. The man running the place looked like he had never seen a shower before and we watched him dry the sheets and towels outside on the benches. I asked for towels multiple times and he eventually gave me two damp stinky towels. The bathroom is shared amongst everyone except the loft that has a bath tub with a shower head with no water pressure or space to stand up. I wouldn’t even want my dogs to stay here.
- dsA7973DP (2/5): AVOID - Disgusting place - they should be banned from renting out the rooms - Needed somewhere to stay overnight as had to be somewhere at 9am the following morning. Should have read the reviews before booking but trusted Hotels.com as used them previously with no issues. All I can say is avoid at all costs. The room was unhygienic and disgusting. Stains - maybe blood - on the walls. Mold on the pillows and sheets. We had to sleep with our coats over the bed to protect us from whatever was on those sheets and pillow. The table was chipped. No lamp shade. painted around the curtains and pictures! We literally walked 30mins to a McDonalds to stay there as long as possible and eat in a safe environment.
- Tarlochan Singh (2/5): - I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this hotel. The service was terrible, and the facilities were not as advertised. Despite multiple complaints and requests, I did not receive the refund that was promised. This is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the management. I strongly advise against staying here.
- Liam (2/5): - Truly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. You get what you pay for, I suppose...
- Onyeka (2/5): - I find difficult to use bathroom
- Emmeline (4/5): - Could be real cute with a little work. The bed was very comfy
- gloriajC1082MA (2/5): Do not ever come here - I’m begging you do NOT stay here. This hotel has horrible, racist staff and horrible customer service. I booked a double room with a self contained toilet and when I arrived was turned away after paying. The hotel had apparently double booked itself and there was no room available. I was then offered a single bedroom with a shared bathroom despite this not being what I paid for. After the back and forth I decided to leave and receive a refund (as recommended by the hotel). Upon doing this I couldn’t believe the abuse I received. The hotel rep was shouting and lying suggesting I was offered an even nicer double room, which obviously wasn’t true considering the fact that they themselves said they were fully booked. I told him I planned on reporting and he asked if I was “African” stating that nothing can happen to him since “an Asian man is ruling”. I was appalled and so offended by how crass he was. They are now refusing to refund me based on this lie.
Please save yourself the trouble.
- Vedaste (2/5): - I was shocked and disappointed as soon as I entered the property to check in.
The level of dirty was beyond believe. I simply regretted the booking.
- Cole (2/5): - I got screwed by Expedia and the property management, the people were on drugs and we didn’t stay there
- Armindo (2/5): - The room not good condition smiling
- Kevin (4/5): Very convenient, cheap, filthy room - This room is very handy for the airport and was very reasonable. Had it not been for the cleanliness of the room and the noise it would have been a case of, you get what you pay for and I would have been happy. However it was patently obvious the the room hadn’t been cleaned, or even looked at! The were long black hairs in the sink, a stinking sponge type thing in the shower and the soap looked like it had been there for years! When I left at about 5:45am there were two Asian gentlemen waiting in the corridor asking if I was leaving. I said I was and I assumed they were staff and were going to examine the room. After I left them at the room I saw two large suitcases further down the corridor and it was apparent that they were just moving into the room so I have no idea what was going on there! (see photos)
- Kwame (2/5): - There were stains on the bedspread provided. No towels were provided even upon request with the excuse that none had been delivered. No heat in room provided and it wasn’t rectified despite my complaints. No hot water in bath and when I wanted to leave and book another hotel I was told no one could assist me. I had booked 2 nights but I had to leave after 1 night because we just couldn’t take it anymore. I had to look for and book another hotel.
- Inspiration423381 (2/5): AVOID!!! - On arrival at around 5:30pm I had to wait an hour as the person doing the check in wasn’t there.
When finally shown my room I was shocked - tiny, stained sheets on the bed, masking tape hanging off the door frame where it was being painted (lovely smell of paint), no towels, tea bags in a pot, but no kettle or cup.
At least there was a tiny tv. Communal bathroom was horrible.
The “all day” food and drink facilities stopped around 6:30 pm, so I had to water out of the tap in the bathroom.
The owner(?) even asked to borrow my phone as I was leaving…
AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!
- Megan (2/5): - I don’t think this place has been cleaned in years. There was 1/2 of dust under the bed and mold dirt in the bathrooms. My room floor was peeling up and also sticky. Avoid this place until they deep clean it
- Karen (4/5): - The online description, and the signage on the building, didn’t represent reality. The rooms may have appeared the same as the description at some point in the past, but no more. The carpeting is long gone. The promise of "food all day" was not just a bit wrong but totally so: there's now only a bar downstairs, though the dining area still exists. No food. You're supposed to be able to call them to arrange for check-in earlier than 2, but the central number resulted in someone totally unfamiliar with the Inn saying that my confirmation wasn’t legitimate and giving me a number to call, which got no answer, ever. Check-in begins at 2, apparently, because no one is there much before 2. Luckily on Tuesday, the guy who runs the bar did get there early--after we'd already missed our tickets to Westminster--and we were able to at least put our luggage in the office between the dining area and pub, but given that transport is nowhere near as simple as it was presented in the description, there was no place to go. Restaurants in walking distance didn't open till 2 or 4 p.m. The guy who ran the bar WAS very helpful and kind; and when the guy who runs the lodging side of the Inn came in, he was also kind, helpful, concerned with our satisfaction, and did everything he could to make us comfortable and take of the things we needed. But honestly, a true description of the place--which should include that it basically is a hostel—would’ve = an informed choice rather than dissatisfaction.
- Kayliegh (2/5): The most disgusting place on earth. - I am awaiting a refund from PayPal as hotels.com will not refund me directly even though I could not stay at the hotel as there was bugs in the bed. Had to cancel the rest of my trip and drive two hours home because of this.
I am by all means not posh and I read the reviews and assumed people were exaggerating took my own kettle and decided it would be fine.
Well it wasn't. Bugs in the bed was just the last straw. There was a cupboard in the room with a smashed hole to connect what appeared to be a boiler. The shower was grim and not attached to the wall. The door would not lock securely. The mirror was smashed as was the TV which did not work. My son refused to take his shoes off. It smelt of human poo and when I asked for a refund I was told "a man does not like this talk". Extremely sexist and disgusting characters. They also told me the manager was in India and I could not contact him. Then when I explained I will bring an inspector to the hotel they called him straight away and shouted in a different language to each other. The man only returned to tell me "we never give refund". He just shrugged at my qualms with the bugs and was not surprised at me leaving so this must a regular occurrence.
Anyway, to wrap this up, I am calling the environment agency tomorrow so hopefully no one else ever has to experience this hell hole.
DO NOT STAY HERE and I mean, if this is what hotels.com thinks is okay, I wouldn't even book with them. Truly horrifying. Felt like a horror movie
- William (2/5): Filthy run down hole - Ordered a room with a bathroom and they gave us a filthy room with two mattresses and boxsprings on the floor with no bathroom. He said his manager screwed up but couldn't fix it. Piles of paint chips on the window sills and the door did not lock from the outside. It may get fixed later they said. Outlet hanging from the wall, broken crusty mattresses in the hallway and an assortment of bottles and garbage in the parking lot. Avoid this place at all costs. It is not a legitimate hotel. We left immediately and had to scramble to get another room.
- Abhimanyu (2/5): - It was not well maintained. Do not book online for this hotel. They do not track there bookings and charge extra for the same thing you booked online.
- HANAN (2/5): - Bad experience ever.
- Mr S N (2/5): No room at the Inn - Can't comment as it was overbooked and I was denied access despite having a reservation number. Staff no help whatsoever. Eventually got assisted through Oyo contact centre, but not with access or alternative accommodation - slept in my car in a layby after checking out many other hotels in the area - none had space except at £500 plus for a night.
The map link on the booking takes you to the centre of Staines, nowhere near this place.
- Tobias (2/5): Avoid this hotel and hotels.com - Avoid this hotel and hotels.com. I arrived at the hotel with my family at 8 pm. The person who welcomed us was a person who worked in the pub attached to the hotel who didn't know about the reservation. He took us to a room that did not have a private bathroom (as stated in the reservation). I asked and the person said he didn't work for the hotel (only for the pub). He gave me the cell phone number of someone who worked at the hotel and told me to get in touch. This person left without giving me the room key and left the hotel open. Nobody answered the phone. I spent an hour with Hotels.com on the phone (he was the only one who answered me), who also couldn't contact the hotel. I decided not to stay at the hotel because I didn't have a room key. Hotels.com did not refund my money, even though I questioned for an hour that I could not stay at the hotel because the room was not as expected, there was no one in the hotel and everything was open.
- K5906PYjayneh (2/5): AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Was booked here due to a contract I am working on, never in my life have I stayed somewhere so bad. Shared bathroom facilities that were lacking in hygiene and hot water, bed had bugs, filthy sock taped over the smoke detector, THIS IS A HOSTEL FOR HOMELESS NOT A HOTEL AND 2 STARS IS A RIDICULOUS GRADING, IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. I'm now covered in bites
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The address on web site was misleading, i had spent £25.00 on taxi to get there, the place not as i expected, althought i understand you get what you paid for, but iw was disappointing, went in the room, the bed was clean, the bathroom has been refurish, but no wifi and no television the wire was hanging off the wall. It was noisy and door bangings. It was not a good night
- jonathan (2/5): Disgraceful - AVOID - - Door wasnt lockable on outside
- dirty linen and towels
- floor tiles broken and dirty
- walls stained and dust everywhere
- no kettle or cups
- no tv remote or bin
Checked out 90 mins later
Even after sending video and photos, Hotels.com and OYO both refused to give refund to date and hotel manager refused to speak to me
- Lorraine (2/5): - The main phone number for OYO swan inn rang out when we tried to notify of late check in. When we arrived nobody answered the mobile number handwritten on a scrap of paper on the window. Had to find another hotel at 11pm. Arrived the next day, room had food splash marks all up the wall and dirty room/floor. Staff quite uninterested with no customer service.
- ljpeacock (2/5): Horrendous, filthy place - Jesus Christ. Had to stay here for work and don’t know how I made it through the night. The only thing that was clean were the bedsheets.
The man I first was greeted with was asking me how much I paid for the room to check he’d been paid the right amount by booking.com just SO unprofessional.
After waiting round in reception I was then given “a nice room”. The man who checked me in was sound enough but when he was showing me how to enter the PIN code for the door he was shouting out each number as he was typing it in. I had to ask him to stop reading it aloud twice so others couldn’t hear it as there was somebody in room 1.
The room had a double bed with a dirty chair, tv with a broken remote and table that looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in years. The bin in my room still had someone else’s rubbish in, there were flip flops under the bed covered in a thick layer of dust and there was no milk for tea or coffee.
There are no towels provided either, luckily I had my own with me.
The bathroom is filthy and covered with mold inside the shower. Found some cleaning products under the sink and scrubbed the bathroom with bleach myself just to use it and then used the dettol spray to clean the room I was given just so I could sleep in it. I didn’t take photos because I was too busy cleaning but wish I did to show you the state that this place is in.
I’m not fussy and don’t expect much as far as putting my head down for work but this was honestly horrendous because of how filthy the whole place is. Won’t be staying here again.
- Michael (2/5): - Run down. Not clean.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Prison cell - Windowless room,no towel,no bin,hairs on bed sheet
- Emily (2/5): - Awful! Was speechless when I arrived and saw the state of the place, from the cigarette butts left in the room to the note scrawled on the wall from a previous customer expressing how awful it is there! Loud beeping all night from the door locks and total lack of soundproofing. No towels provided for for showering, not that I would have wanted to go in the shower looking at how unclean it was!
- Lee (2/5): Worst nights sleep ever! Do not pay to stay here!! - THE worst ever accommodation in every sense, room still had prebious guests rubbish from 20days earlier, mattress was non descript, no cushioning whatsoever, most uncomfortable nights sleep ever.. was pleased to be up and out early... bed sheet on a double would barely fit a single, flooring was perished and in need of replacing 20 yesrs ago, shower rail broken so impossible to have a shower, no towels to dry yourself, no soap or gel either.. no kettle or tea stuff in the room.. rooms above a bar that was closed.. should have been a minus 5 rating but no option for that...
- Mark (2/5): - I booked a two-night stay at this hotel, primarily for its proximity to the airport, with the intention of ensuring a smooth start and finish to my travels. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had hoped for.
Upon arriving for my first night, I was allocated a twin room with a shared bathroom, despite having booked a double en-suite room. The room itself was far from welcoming - there was a persistent unpleasant smell, evidence of dust accumulation in various corners, and an uncomfortable bed that did little to promote a good night's sleep. To make matters worse, there were no towels provided in the room, a basic amenity that should be standard in any accommodation.
However, the real ordeal came when I returned for my second night. Shockingly, I was informed that the hotel had overbooked and had no rooms available, leaving me stranded without any accommodation. To add insult to injury, the hotel disputed my claim with the booking platform, falsely asserting that I had stayed there on the second night.
This experience has left me deeply disappointed and inconvenienced. It's disheartening to encounter such issues when all I sought was a reliable place to stay near the airport. The lack of accountability from both the hotel and the booking platform has left a bitter taste, and I strongly caution others against considering this establishment for their travel needs.
- karinaowl (4/5): Not recently unless you can’t find anywhere else in the area. - Firstly they said they didn’t have a booking for me when I arrived.
It took some patient waiting before they eventually found it.
When they did I was informed it was not en suite as I had requested and paid for.
As there was nowhere else available in the area for the event I was going to I had no alternative but to accept it.
The room was very small and there was just enough space to put a case down on the floor beside the bed.
The carpet was dirty and the curtains just about covered the wall.
There was a kettle however no tea or coffee - I had to ask for this.
The shared shower wasn’t clean and wasn’t cleaned after it had been used.
The only good thing was the bed was clean and comfortable.
I asked for a refund for the difference between en suite and shared and I’m still waiting to hear.
I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re really stuck going to an event for example like I was.
- 78montys (2/5): More a doss house than hotel! - I'd booked a room for the night prior to flying out of Heathrow.
The email said last time for booking in was 2200. I arrived at 2130 to what appeared from the outside a derelict building with fencing up around the outside.
The front door was locked and the bell appeared not to be working.
I rang the number on the booking email and got through to customer services, who after some time managed to provide a phone number for the property. I rang the number and could the phone inside but had no response.
I had a look around the rear of the property and found a 'member of staff' having a smoke. He informed me that the manager had left the site earlier.
He was able to give me access to a room but could not provide a key fob for the electronic lock. If I needed the shared toilet during the night I would have to prop the door open!
The room itself was 'Spartan' to say the least - a bed, thin duvet, fitted sheet, chair and small LCD TV 'attached' to the wall.
No linen for the 'under the stairs' shower, bin or tea/coffee facilities.
There was no hot water in the shower.
Apart from my encounter with the 'staff member' the night before I so nobody on site and left at 0800 in the morning.
Singularly one of the worst establishments I've stayed at and would not recommend to anyone.
Sleeping in the car would have only been marginally worse.
- E8572CXmichaelf (2/5): What can I say I was supposed to be staying here for five nights. I wouldn’t spend one minute in this establishment - Got shown to my room from someone behind the bar who was stinking of drink and cigarettes The bar itself smelt terrible
The door to my room look like a prison cell door inside. What can I say about the room a bed in the Corner with bedding that haven’t been made smelt terrible toilet smelled terrible within the room. No TV on the wall look like I’ve been ripped off the floor is dirty and grubby had a walk around everywhere was dirty smelly
this place needs to be reported to health and safety. avoid at all means
- Flogert (2/5): - This property was very dirty absolutely disgusting. The room was very claustrophobic hot no ventilation whatsoever. When I went into the room, someone had left a teabag inside the kettle I would avoid this bed and breakfast at all costs in the future.
- Mateusz (8/5): - Ok
- Colin (2/5): Truly, truly disgusting place with vulgar staff. - This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Was meant to be there 2 nights and left first thing after first night.
The staff were rude as in I was greeted with "Oh another one that needs a room" followed by him cussing out customers at the bar.
Booked a room with 2 twins and was given a room with one twin that barely had enough room for the twin. Asked for WiFi and was told he get me the code tomorrow. Shared bathroom was falling to pieces with discarded tolieteties littering it.
Was not provided a towel.
Truly, truly disgusting place with vulgar staff.
- Kayla (10/5): - I loved how close we was to watch the planes take off and how they are shops close by and the place was easy to get to by public transport
Would stay here again!
- Janek (8/5): - The beds though soft were clean and presentable. Perfectly acceptable for the price
- Escape01731932128 (2/5): Thieves - Thieves. Throughout the booking process it quite clearly stated “add special requests such as late check in” “arrange special requests 24 hours in advance through this number”
The number doesn’t work, I went through Expedia who informed me the hotel won’t grant late check in and will also keep the money.
Thieves. Luckily American Express will take it from here.
- John (4/5): - Was dirty in room , Staines on walls , electric sockets hanging off walls , window latch missing and room smelt of BO , Indian room assistant didn’t know what an en suite was , only stayed one of the two nights I booked and was very noisy with doors banging all night
- mayden2020 (2/5): DONOT STAY HERE!!! - I have reported this hotel to health & welfare/safety department of uk!! Unsafe & sketchy!!dog feces, blood splatter, used qtips, dirty!! No door key because lock broken due to someone kicking in the door!! DONOT STAY HERE IF YOU VALUE YOU LIFE!!
- Tabytha (2/5): - I called ahead and said I'd be a late check in, really morn check out. But they couldn't leave a key out for me so I never got to sleep or stay. I'd like a refund actually
- D8498TVstephaniec (2/5): Disgusting and filthy accommodation - My son and his girlfriend booked to stay here last night… I’ve stayed in all sorts of accommodation over the years from budget to luxury. I have to say I’ve never seen anything quite so disgusting. The place is filthy with so many safety issues. They called the manager to complain and he just wasn’t interested at all. The bed sheets hadn’t been changed and stank of grease, toilet flush broken, plug sockets, bathroom door hanging off hinges. They left and ended up sleeping in their car - lesson learnt, cheap is sometimes not the best and read the reviews before booking.
- Camper12381277950 (2/5): Not worth spending more than £20 for 1 night - Omg where do i start
Barmaid seems friendly and she gave us a key and took us to where stairs were and Then verbally directed us to the room.
The room is tiny, bed didn't even look made properly,
bed felt and looked very old and basic
or even made when you sat on it the mattress you feel Ur sitting on the base of the bed
Mould In shower area, flush button missing bits
Bathroom door missing hinges and screws
floors look dirty and laminate floor shrinking coming apart and chipped
Plug socket burned out to end of bed
Can't watch TV because no remote and don't have aerial connected not can the aerial on other wall strech to reach aerial port on TV
Room got a funky smell to it too like a greasy smell
Definitely not worth spending £59 for 1 night
If I'd spent £20 on this for 1 night maybe it would nothing to complain about
- Farhad (2/5): - Dirty, broken doors,no towels, no trash basket, long walking distance from and to bus stop,
Awful place!
- Martyn (2/5): - The place was so bad that after checking in, I checked out. There were no towels, the shower riser rail was broken. The mattress was about 4” thick with all the springs digging into you just by sitting down on it. The tv did not work. I was very disappointed. I’m still trying to get my money back.
- SABYASACHI (2/5): - I booked and paid in advance for Double Bed with attached Bathroom room but hotel given me Single Bed room with shared bathroom e even after shown all documents. They have not refunded the difference amount. They simply ignore.
